And thanks to the recent reporting of CNN (where were they and the other media three years ago, when we needed them?), more people will realize that shortly after the passage of Obamacare the Obama administration implemented rules specifically designed to ensure that millions of people — those who provided for themselves on the individual market, i.e., who did not receive coverage through their employer or union — would not be allowed to keep their current insurance. Thus not only were Obama’s assurances untrue; they were purposeful deceit in which a supine press was complicit.
Jay Carney, the Official Propagandist of the Obama regime said:
One of the things health reform was designed to do was to help not only the uninsured but also the underinsured. And there are a number of Americans, fewer than 5 percent of Americans, who’ve got cut-rate plans that don’t offer real financial protection in the event of a serious illness or an accident.
Now if you had one of these substandard plans before the Affordable Care Act became law and you really liked that plan, you were able to keep it. That’s what I said when I was running for office.
That was part of the promise we made.

The Obama administration projected low-end, mid-range and high-end estimates for how many plans would be terminated, in total and broken down between large and smaller employers. The bottom line is that the administration expected 51% of all employer plans to be terminated as a result of Obamacare. That is the mid-range estimate; the high-end estimate was 69%. So as of 2010, the Obama administration planned that most Americans with employer-sponsored health care plans would lose them, whether they liked those plans or not.
As for individual, as opposed to group plans, the Obama administration said that data were insufficient to predict how many would lose grandfather status, but in any given year the percentage of such policies losing such status would “exceed[] the 40 percent to 67 percent range.”
Those numbers starkly contradict Obama’s “if you like your insurance, you can keep it” assurances. But it is worth noting that the percentage of pre-Obamacare plans that would terminate within the first few years after the law was enacted isn’t the main point. The administration never intended to allow any American to keep a non-Obamacare insurance policy for any length of time.
And for small business, it’s more like 80%.

Unfortunately, the regulation writers at the Departments of Treasury, Labor, and Health and Human Services broke all those promises. The regulation is crystal clear. Most businesses–the administration estimates between 39 and 69 percent–will not be able to keep the coverage they have.
Under the new regulation, once a business loses grandfathered status, they will have to comply with all of the new mandates in the law. This means these businesses will have to change their current plans and purchase more expensive ones that meet all of the new Federal minimum requirements. For the 80 percent of small businesses that will lose their grandfathered status because of this regulation, the net result is clear: They will pay more for their health insurance.

This is not simply a lie. It is a lie of galactic proportions. All hell is going break loose next year when nearly everyone loses their plans, and that is why the employer mandate was delayed. So Obama could lie through another election cycle.

Thanks for those kind words. That was actually kind of tame for me as we all know I can go off on tirades.
None the less, it is something that has to be said and pointed out as loudly as possible. This isn’t just about Comrade Obama and his leftist Commie lackeys on both sides of the aisle. This is about an electorate that has lost it’s way, be it by indoctrination or sheer laziness. Unfortunately history has shown us that human nature tends to lead people to the easy way, be it taking rather than earning or expecting someone else to do it and so on.
The fact that the electorate time and again (look no further than the idiots in Virginia who just elected a corrupt person who is under investigation for various things) heed the siren call of the false promises rather than even remotely make a decision based on fact and record is sad enough. But the problem is much deeper than that now.
The electorate as I said before has decided to shun every ideal this country was founded on. Our so called leaders now openly abuse and berate the law of the land. We are now not to be responsible for our selves. The Commie bastards that run our government will take care of us. Comrade Obama openly defies the Constitution with no outcry from the MSM or most of the leaders in Congress. The so called loyal opposition is trying to purge those in their party that have the spine to stand up to the loss of our liberties and for what? To keep their power, nothing else.
I just noticed the newly elected mayor of NYC is espousing a five year plan! A five year plan? Sounds just like the old USSR, but guess what! The Mayor has a hard left background, better know in some circles as Commie like. Yet, the lemmings in NYC dutifully voted this guy in.
In my home town of Chicago, murders are literally off the charts. The ultra vast majority of these shootings are black on black crimes but we are told it is a problem caused by the privileged whites. Anyone who stands up against this President and his asinine policies is branded racist or worse a traitor, after all, his own TSA and other entities have branded anyone who is against many of his policies is a possible terrorist or worse.
I can go on, but you get the gist of this. We do not have much leeway left, but this downhill drive to hard core Socialism and the dictatorship that come with it has to be stopped now! Someone somehow has got to turn this country back to it’s basic ideals and the responsibilities that come with a Democracy. Our forefathers warned us of exactly what is now happening and as in moist historical instances, man ignores the warnings and lessons of history at their own peril.
Democracy and individual liberty comes with a price. That price is not only fighting for the rights of all but accepting not only the responsibility of being a good citizen but in fact accepting responsibility for one’s self. The fact that in the eyes of this administration and the scum balls on both sides the basic ideals this country was founded on are nothing more than a liner for the bottom of a birdcage is something every man and woman should be ashamed of. Yet, the electorate refuses to face the reality. That reality is as you said, chilling to say the least. Where are the leaders that will stand up to it?

As such, I really wonder if the indoctrination that has occurred as to our kids and their education (after all, we know as a fact they do not teach the basics anymore) combined with the “you owe it to me” mentality that is now instilled in society has not in fact diluted those leadership qualities to the few who seem to still believe in our country’s ideals. If one chooses to believe the statistics, the majority of the electorate do not believe in this country as founded. National security force and civilian defense force are not the same thing. Words mean things Dr. J., you know this. We have national security teams that carry no weapons.
You’re reading too much into it. Think 1960’s era lingo. Plus, Dr. King ran one of the most successful wars in history with zero weapons. I’m a strong proponent of national defense, by our military, but I like what the Peace Corps does. To an extent, they do what Green Berets do without the military training. One of the Green Berets primary missions is to win hearts and minds. It was one of the main goals when McClure formed the unit.
I don’t put a lot of stock in Fact Check or Politifact, but you quoted part of their conclusions. I’m an engineer, I rely on empirical data. I see no such data that Obama is trying or is going to try to put together a civilian armed force.
