A Reality Check

Loading

During the 2008 campaign, there was a great boom in the bumper sticker business. The Liberals and Democrats were proud of their candidate and plastered a huge percentage of bumpers proclaiming their allegiance to the great half-white hope, Obama.

You don’t need to think too hard to remember those Obama stickers outnumbering the McCain stickers, it was obvious.

In a few months, we are having another presidential election and we are facing an enigma; where are all the bumper stickers? There are a few ’08 stickers, still on the road, they are the stickers on vehicles that are barely worth more than the sticker. These drivers have been gloating over the victory for as long as possible. Unfortunately, being on the winning side is the only benefit they have to celebrate after the last three years. The little guy and the downtrodden only have the faint glimmer of free health care in the future to be happy about; unfortunately, a bankrupt country and citizenry can’t support the massive costs of free unlimited health care for everyone. Where it ends up is everyone’s guess, but the truth is obvious and yet, no one dares to speak the truth, a huge aging demographic will require massive amounts of medical care in their final years. They will require the bulk of the country’s economy to support the cost of final life care; unless, they are willing to take Obama’s prescription and just take a pain pill.

Being a realist is fast becoming America’s newest fad. An indirect result of America’s gift from God (quoting the buffoon Pelosi), it seems he is not the great diplomat and leader we were promised, Surprise!

Consequently, we all know independents and Democrats who have taken off the rose colored glasses and after looking at Obama’s performance objectively, have decided they can no longer support him. Conversely, among those who voted against Obama in ’08, how many people do you know who have decided after evaluating his performance, they have decided to vote for him in this election. If you are like me, you have yet to meet this person, because he probably doesn’t exist.

Obama’s ranks are thinning out, and he can only hope to find new voters by opening the borders and by relaxing the laws designed to prevent voter fraud; does this sound like one of the great president’s of the past?

These are really good!! Sadly they don’t completly dipict the failure of the Democrats and 0-bama.

Nothing says “I hate America” more than an Obama/Biden 2012 bumper sticker on your car. I see em, but not as much as the first go-round.

@© Sponge:

Same here. About 80% of them are on the vehicles of women. They are usually bad drivers too so I consider it a warning to avoid them.

*Sigh* I wish I could say that I’ve noticed a difference, but they are still everywhere here in DC.

We probably won’t be seeing many bumper stickers for anybody this time around, because of concerns that goofballs on the other side will vandalize the car. Near as I can tell, there’s no shortage of goofballs on either side.

I live in Ma and there is no way that I would put anything on my car because I would be afraid that I would be run off the road or shot at..Liberals are very nasty…

It didn’t take too long for the responses to his ignorant comment yesterday to come out.

they are indeed lacking their
well manner they or forgot or never had, on the left,
no one can buy class, you have it or you don’t

AV, that is a good couple of pages. I suppose I had more help with the horses than I realize. I just wish they would have been there when I picked myself up out of the dirt with gravel, mud, and blood in my mouth. Yes, on certain days, I could have used a little help. Otherwise, I have news for the Prez., I did it all alone. Every day, every night, every worn out vehicle, it was me, all alone, on my own. Sorry Prez, you can take your Marxist BS, and take a flying Leap into the eye of a typhoon for all I care, but it was me.

@Skookum: Admit it. If it wasn’t for him and big government, you wouldn’t have had the horses to begin with.

another vet
yes he is so lucky to have those forest he can use to ride with his horse, after all SKOOKUM
YOU DID NOT MAKE THOSE WOOD AREA, SOMEONE ELSE DID, IT MIGHT BE GOD,
NOT OBAMA, BECAUSE HE DOESN’T MAKE NOTHING, EXCEPT BORROW MONEY FROM CHINA
TO GO ON HIS SPENDING SPREES, IT’S A HABIT HE CAN’T LET GO. AS LONG AS IT’S NOT HIS OWN MONEY,

@AV: That site was a gold mine – thanks for sharing!

I saw a “old” bumper sticker from 08′ a few months back – it was on a pick up truck in front of me when I was driving down the highway….I just had to see what kind of morons actually voted for this guy….I hurried a little so I could be side by side at the next traffic light….just to check out these morons….turned out to be a couple in their late 50’s I’d guess…

They, like you said, “must” have been still living in the Ooo -baaa- ma moment..
ME?? I would have scraped that thing off years ago…. out of pure embarrassment…!!

@ilovebeeswarzone: He did make a lot of debt didn’t he?

Faith I have done the same thing and it is always an older person but I always think to myself what in the hell were they thinking??????????????

@Greg#5 – Sadly Greg the Liberal Morons HAVE done the damage [vandalized via a key] already ….so it’s not a matter of concern that “they will”… they have already shown their very hypocritical, non-tolerant, childish and ugly side…

Funny thing though Greg, knowing how “Conservatives” have tons more ‘respect’ that runs in their blood – they would not stoop so low as to vandalize a car just because their bumper sticker goes against their political beliefs…

@another vet, #7:

The point, of course, is that no one makes their way in the world without relying on the efforts and contributions of others. No doubt ancient Pharaoh’s congratulated themselves when the capstone of a pyramid was finally moved into place–by a few hundred laborers.

Wealthy people who believe they owe nothing to others for their accomplishments are as blind as the Pharaoh.

@Greg: Probably because Obama has run the economy into the mud, no one can afford bumper stickers!

BTW, the stickers I’m talking about are 2012 obama stickers. Some people are too far gone to face reality and they insist on advertising it on their vehicle. Anyone who isn’t mentally ill should be ashamed to put an obama 2012 sticker on their vehicle.

Greg, how many examples of “wingnuts” do you have vandalizing cars with stickers they don’t like? The left is so disproportinately guilty of such acts it isn’t even funny.

@Greg:

Wealthy people who believe they owe nothing to others for their accomplishments are as blind as the Pharaoh.

So, people who actually build something should thank government for the taxes they have to pay, for the regulations that require them to spend more money in order to make a buck or two, the threat of lawsuits by liberal/progressives forcing them to have a lawyer on retainer, for having to send a politician or three money for their campaigns to ensure that the laws that do get passed affect them as little as possible(ofttimes inversely proportional to the amount of money given), for having to send tax-exempt “charities” such as the RAINBOW Coalition money to ensure they are targeted for a shakedown, etc., etc., etc.

Your right, Greg. They didn’t do it on their own, because if they had, their product or service would be cheaper and consumers would be happier with it, not to mention their profit would be much greater than it is.

Skook… a little off topic… just wanted to let you know that they tore down the stables in Redmond WA where you and I first met. It’s about to become another subdivision…

Donald Bly,
Yes, I was there a few weeks ago. The horses moved to Kirkland, a few miles away, to a little fancier stable. If you can picture that. The Microsoft people still have money to play with. It is funny, the super rich are all Progressives and the little businessmen who service the wealthy are all Conservatives. There is an interesting dynamic here, and I only understand a small part of what is happening.

@Skookum: Skook, I think that the difference you see between the small business and the wealthy ones is due to one thing, “they forget where they come from!” This happens in the military at about the 0-5 level. Sometimes a little earlier. I have seen these officers do some really stupid things that affect the junior officers and the enlisted service members. There was a commander in Iraq who was actually proud that she had issued more Article 15s than any other commander. I was apalled and told her that if she had to issue more than one, she had lost control of her command andlacked the leaderrship abilities to form/lead an effective organization. In the case of the wealthy, there is a point where their wealth rather than their leadership becomes the organizational motivator.

Politicians are very similar. Many are effective when the are first eected, but when they start believing their press clippings, they forget where they came from. The Jimmy Stewart movie ” Mr. Smith Goes to Washington” used this theme to make the moral piont of the movie. It is a rare person who remembers how he got here!

Randy
hi,
yes it’s not for everybody to deserve the leadership of any power, some have their head so inflated they loose their ability to lead, other where put there by ignorant who has no clue of the abilities needed,
but they get mesmerize by the talking skill of the candidate they choose,
we have a proof now of this with OBAMA.
a good leader does not always excel in speeches but can relate just the same with a softer approche
on his employees, he is a quick thinker and won’t run in the critical time, he also chose his close crew,
by some who fill the gap he might have like speaker spreading his will of how the company expect from his work force, and the good leader appreciate all their employes,

@Greg: Another missed point….Dear Leader, as with Fauxcahontus Lizzy Warren, is that government is the reason, not risk and hard work….Where, in either of their diatribes, do they acknowledge the risk required by individual enterprise?….They fail to mention the people that risk it all, who lose. They pretend those people don’t exist….The false assumption behind both these clowns’ statements, is that the successful were guaranteed to be so, by a helpful public sector…Lefty politicians think they know business….When they try to actually talk about the primary role of business, you get the hot vomit that Warren and Obama each produced….Chairman Obamas little speech the other day where he essentially discounts the risk of the entrepreneur, is just another way for liberals to prop up the lie at the core of leftism, that the state is a provider….It’s a colossal and laughably transparent lie. The state provides nothing, because it possesses nothing on its own. The state is the perpetually dependent child of the taxpayer, and not the other way around.
We are told by these geniuses that we are supposed to be building busways and roads and bridges and high speed rail and that will get us out of the mess we are in….But all of the roads the government builds with our money will not magically create successful commerce all around themselves. Merely building infrastructure and calling it stimulus is a childish mimicry of the trappings of a healthy economy. It is foolish to expect the commerce that actually provides these good things to “just happen” and downright dangerous to try to force this pipedream by spending out our sustenance before we’ve earned it…..

Skookum…. next time you are in the area… give me a call… I’ll buy you lunch. Donald 360-551-1209

Funniest thing………….

Driving around Denver in 2008, the only cars I saw with Umbama stickers on them were Priuses, Mercedes, Volvos, Subarus etc. and not ONE with a black driver.

Matter of fact I didn’t see even ONE car driven by a black that had an Umbama sticker on it. (believe it or not)

I guess they couldn’t buy them with an EBT card.

You would think that democrats would have made them available free to all their slaves.

Wouldn’t you?

@Greg:
So, you still believe a business owner owes the people that work for him or her, the credit for the company’s success. This must be the case, since you are relating them to the Egyptian Pharaohs and the pyramids.
I have worked for two small businesses since I left the Air Force. Both started by men that just wanted to do things their way. It was their risk, their capital, their time, that built the company. Hiring good people definitely benefits a small business owner. But that person is compensated. In the industry I work in, my department is one of the most sought after in the industry. Do we contribute to the company’s success? Hell yeah! But at the end of the day, I can go home, knowing that at the end of the week, I get paid. My boss? Not so much. He has to worry about what tax law is around the corner, what’s next for healthcare. Does he make the employees contribute more to their benefits and risk losing them, try to pass the costs off to the customer and risk losing them, or try to absorb the costs and risk losing the company altogether.
Every payday, I get paid. I have vacation, sick days, holidays and besides the new healthcare insurance, a pretty nice benefit package. I don’t have to worry about any of the stuff my boss has to worry about, I just need to do my part, which I’m paid to do. Exactly how is my boss not responsible for the success of his company?

Randy, in the military, handing out judgements and feeling like Solomon must be a heady experience, but wise Tops need only mention the possibility and the need to volunteer for weekend guard duty and the problem will probably disappear forever. A few too many Article 15s will destroy morale and personal initiative, and render a unit ineffective, but if the CO feels omnipotent by ruining careers and compromising morale, it may be unavoidable.

The right CO will leave his men worrying over the possibility of letting the CO down, by making a mistake, not by the punishments available under Article 15. This is one of the marks of a leader, when the men look up to the CO and his staff with reverence and loyalty. That kind of respect is earned and built carefully over time, it will also be indicative of a unit with superior morale.

This is the way I viewed the issue from the peanut gallery.

Donald… Roger, over.

Aqua
and employee like you make a company secure for their future,
you make them breed better because on top of what you mentioned they would not have that certainty if you where a unionize person who take orders only from their unions and the company is just no more than
a pay master dictated by the union’s boss.
you are hard to find employee and the company are seeking people from your mentality even before they check for qualifications, which they will allow some lacks but hire the one like you, they can trust,
that won’t decide one day to break everything to answer the union’s call for inciting and cause trouble if the company refuse to comply to their demands
bye

@Skookum: That is exactly right Skook. Most of these poor leaders forget what it was like to work under someone like the person they became.

@GregPeople who start businesses, at least the smart ones, are well aware of the value of their employees which is why they pay them and offer benefits. Obviously no one person is an island and isolated from everyone else. The real point is that we have a segment of our society, that being the Marxist oriented left of which Obama is one, who believe that anyone who makes more money than they do or is more successful than they are, are evil people. The argument laid out by Obama is one that essentially lays the groundwork for the redistribution of wealth. Again, Marxism. I don’t know if you have ever spent time in one of the former communist countries where the attitude that it was the state that was responsible for wealth and where individual initiative was frowned upon, but it is quite a contrast to our society which was based on the principals of those “evils” of individualism and capitalism. People in those former communist countries are almost incapable of doing anything on their own. I watched people in one former communist country work on a simple construction project. The minute the foreman left, they ceased working because there wasn’t anyone around to tell them what to do. In our evil capitalist society, the workers would have kept on working because they have individual initiative.

Skookum said: ” The Microsoft people still have money to play with. It is funny, the super rich are all Progressives and the little businessmen who service the wealthy are all Conservatives. There is an interesting dynamic here, and I only understand a small part of what is happening.”

If I may so bold…The reason I see “Progressive Rich” acting like this?? When you make SO MUCH $$$$$ that losing some, doesn’t even show up in your “everyday spending”…. you can AFFORD to “think Liberal”!! What’s it going to hurt YOU??? When you have THAT much money! And it CAME EASY…. Writing Computer programs in an AC office… isn’t like ME for instance, working on Cabinets in a 98* shop on a hot humid summers day!! Or YOU getting tossed from a rowdy green broke! Example.. George Clooney?? Tom Hanks? Etc… making BIG money, for “play acting”… so they can AFFORD to lose some, and STILL be rolling in it… Thus their “attitudes”…..

Now, if they ONLY made maybe, a Million PER PICTURE?? I’ll bet you, they would think FAR DIFFERENT, when it came to DISHING OUT the $$$$$$!!!!

The REGULAR small Business guy, lives the same way…. ANY more taken out, IS FELT!! HARD and FAST!!
It’s THEM, who are grounded in REALITY…

Now, look at how the BIG LIBS in Washington BLOW our $$$$$. They think, the same as the “Hollywood Richies… there’s more coming.. so W T H !! Ignorant, uncaring, and Irresponsible….

Greg…. you chatter like a person who has NEVER supported himself… BY himself!! Never LIVED, solely off of the WORK you did, FOR YOURSELF! Try that for once.. being in business FOR YOURSELF, YOU having to pay all the costs.. and make the bills…AND make enough to eat… THEN, you’ll GROW UP!!
Until then, you’ll always sound like an uneducated child.. as you do here.

Hankster
yes, and OBAMA HAS IT UPSIDE DOWN AGAIN,
IF THERE WAS NO BUSYNESS IN AMERICA, THERE WOULD HAVE NOT BEEN ANY BRIDGES TO CROSS WHERE EVER THE WATERS, IF THERE WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN BUSYNESS TO BUILD CARS, THERE WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ANY ROAD BUILT, IF THERE WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN THINKING BRAINS TO CREATE, THERE WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN A GOVERNMENT WHO IS THERE TO SERVE THE PEOPLE’S DEMANDS, NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND,
THE TAX MONEY IS A PRECIOUS MONEY NOT TO DO WHATTHE GOVERNMENT FANTASIZE TO DO,
IT GET TO THE GOVERNMENT TO MEET THE NEED OF THE PEOPLE IN AMERICA FIRST, NOT THE NEED OF THE FOREIGNERS AS OBAMA DOES AS HIS PRIORITY, THE UN EXIST BECAUSE OF AMERICA
NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND, THEY HAVE NO BUSYNESS TO DICTATE ANYTHING ABOUT THE AMENDMENTS IN THE CONSTITUTION MADE TO PROTECT THE AMERICANS AND AMERICA,
A PRESIDENT SHOULD OBEY THOSE AMENDMENTS NOT DESTROY THEM ONE BY ONE,
THEN HE IS COMMITING TREASON AGAINST AMERICA, AND SHOULD BE TRIAL AS ONE TRAITOR,

@Hankster58:

The other day I read a piece by this 24 year-old on what he did to make his own way in life. It was quite uplifting to read about, even for this 42 year-old. I know that if I was this young man’s father, I’d be extremely proud of what he accomplished, nearly all of it on his own with only a “grant” of some land space from his parents. The rest was due to his own hard work, ingenuity, and perseverance.

The link is below, for anyone else interested in a story about a young man that Obama would have us believe didn’t, and couldn’t, build his business all on his own.

@Hankster58:

I’m sorry to disappoint you, but I have a current net worth of over $400,000, owe nothing but my current month’s bills, have never received an unemployment check in my life, and have paid state and federal taxes every year for over 40 years.

I acknowledge that none of that would likely be the case without the early support of my parents, without a good public school system, and without a state land grant college education that was partially paid for by the G.I. Bill. I’ve had no inheritance as yet, and have no eagerness whatsoever to receive one.

Right wingers are sometimes so full of themselves.

GREG
why end your comment with an insult to this blog for the right and very well operated on and giving you the chance to come and tell your left wing tales,

“There are a few ’08 stickers, still on the road, they are the stickers on vehicles that are barely worth more than the sticker.

Skook, in my neck of the woods, a resort town whose population quadruples in the summer months by an invasion of our bread a butter from Chicago, I’ve seen quite a few Obama/Biden ’08 stickers. I like to walk around town and play “count the Obama stickers” when I’m not doing my usual calisthenics in their service in a hot kitchen.

And most of these are not on old cars, but on — get this — brand spankin’ new cars. That’s right: Obama/Biden ’08 stickers (and those Soviet-looking “yes we did!” stickers) on 2010 and 2011 model cars. And luxury SUVs with tinted windows and larger-than-stock rims. I see those and think: wow, I wish I was oppressed by whitey like they think they are!

But, hey, those trillions of dollars of “stimulus money” went somewhere, I suppose. A lot of it to bureaucrats, educators and other layabouts from Chicago who have money to spend in resort towns and on brand new cars. Gettin’ them some of that “Obama money.”

any way, SIRYA IS FALLING IN THE HANDS OF THE ALQUADA VERY SOON,
ANOTHER ONE WILL BE IN CHAOS MORE THAN BEFORE,
THE CRESCENT IS ROLLING TOWARD A CIRCLE,

@ilovebeeswarzone, #39:

Perhaps because I was insulted myself. I generally try not to respond to personal insults in kind, but it’s been quite hot and humid here today and I suppose my patience is a bit short.

GREG
YOU ARE IN CONSERVATIVE GROUND, don’t expect to sell your stuff,
you know they don’t buy, and you don’t want to be converted either,
as much as we all try to educate you on the dangers of the left,
you can’t say we did not try, so the best for you is to wallow your pill when you are reprimand,
glad to learn that you can afford it.
bye

@ilovebeeswarzone: As usual you nailed it!! Greg is a lost cause and you can use logic, reality, the truth, and any other argument that makes sense and it still won’t penetrate that liberal skin. Not really worth the effort.

@Greg: I have a current net worth of over $400,000, owe nothing but my current monthâs bills, have never received an unemployment check in my life, and have paid state and federal taxes every year for over 40 years….I acknowledge that none of that would likely be the case without the early support of my parents, without a good public school system, and without a state land grant college education that was partially paid for by the G.I. You’re welcome…

@Greg:

I smell horse poop on the yard…

That and I’m Santa Monica…

Gee greg, I’ve known a few people who were homeschooled, and paid their own way thru college. The “public” education they received was because of taxpayers like them thru THEIR tax money that THEY earned. So spare us your marxist bullsh*t.
As for your alleged net worth, we aren’t buying it as you have been caught lying too many times for us trust you.
Even if it is true, it just makes you a hypocrite. Either way, you lose.

Greg, yes, you may have a lot of money and have never received unemployment BUT the point is that you have not started a business right?! And that is the topic at hand. YOU have not risked capital, failure, your time, sweat of your brow, right? What type of work do you do, and who pays you? Is it a non-profit by any chance? A government job? Or a small business owner? One thing is for sure: you are not an entrepreneur.

@Hard Right:

Aye, he sits here over and over again telling us how those damn dirty rich GOP behave… yet here he is claiming to be rich himself. And I have a funny feeling he’s much younger than he claims to be, especially since someone that old would have at least one or two hiccups in the employement factor in life. The joys of the interwebs. It’s almost chan-ish about his braggings which leaves a hint of horse poop in the air, then again I’ve dealt with this kind of “Story” from gaming forums when I used to moderate for Digital-Depravity and some Tribes 2 teams forums… Was rather funny hearing the stories implode at team LAN’s.
