Several days ago Sen. Tom Harkin (D-Iowa) coughed up a furball. He asserted that Republicans who sought a Balanced Budget Amendment were now part of a “cult.”
Senate Democrats attacked the “Cut, Cap and Balance” measure on Wednesday, calling the House-passed bill “devoid of substance” and “dead on arrival” in the Senate, where it will receive a vote later this week.
Every single week, liberals and conservatives say a lot of things. When a liberal says a particularly dumb thing, it is all but ignored by the Obama Media Complex; when conservative says an intelligent thing, it is all but ignored by the OMC. For this reason, I recommend that you send these columns to your moderate friends (and to liberals who seem to simply be unlearned). In the sparring over the issue of raising the debt ceiling BArack Obama weighed in with “harsh language.”
In some of his harshest language to date in the fight over the deficit, President Obama warned today that the debt ceiling should not be “used as a gun” against Americans to extract tax breaks for the wealthy.
Thom Hartmann: “[If the debt ceiling is not raised, then we should] close all federal buildings named after Ronald Reagan whose policies brought us this disaster”
Chris Matthews: “There are times when he [Bill Clinton] sounds like Jesus in the Temple.”
President Barack Obama, helping to explain the devastating unemployment numbers: “There’s some structural issues with our economy where a lot of businesses have learned to become much more efficient with a lot fewer workers…You see it when you go to a bank and … you use an ATM, you don’t go to a bank teller. Or you go to the airport, and you’re using a kiosk instead of checking in at the gate”
President Obama: “Shovel-ready was not as shovel-ready as we expected.”
Chris Matthews, after Mitt Romney said he believed in global warming: “”He [Romney] believes in science. Republicans on the right hate science, remember? Certainly Rush does. That’s ahead. The battle between the college guys and the rubes. ”
Chris Matthews, who is becoming almost a parody of himself: “If [Weiner] stays, [Democrats] never get the leadership [in the House] back. They never get the speakership back. Because the people in the rural areas of this country who are Christian, conservative, culturally – you can say `backward’ if you want – they don’t like this stuff.”
Vice President Joe Biden: “All in all we’re going to be creating somewhere between 100[,000] and 200,000 jobs next month, I predict.”
Senate Majority leader Harry Reid: “I am encouraged that the private sector is continuing to grow and add jobs.”
Jemu Greene: “Slow growth is still growth overall.”
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid: “There’s no need to have a Democratic budget in my opinion. It would be foolish for us to do a budget at this stage.”
Ed Schultz: “You see, being from the south, you know what these code words are all about. To say something about food stamps is not about white folks, it’s about black folks. There’s no question about it.”

A vote on raising the debt ceiling looms.

Obama knows how stupid Democrats are and it is on their stupidity he is depending, for had they any brains or long term memory he would lose in a landslide.
