Trump and Pro-Athletes Spar Over Flag, National Anthem, White House Visit; Lefties Scream Racism

Le·gal In·sur·rec·tion:

Twitter has been afire today with the controversy about Stephen Curry going to the White House and reactions to President Trump’s speech in Alabama.

During President Trump’s speech at a rally for Luther Strange (R-AL), he addressed the growing trend among NFL players to kneel disrespectfully during the national anthem.  Trump asked, ““Wouldn’t you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say ‘get that son of a b***h off the field right now – he’s fired’?”.

Most people hearing or reading this comment recognize that the president is referring to the disrespectful kneeling “protest” that involves football (and other sports) players deliberately taking a knee during the national anthem.

The Warriors’ Stephen Curry hesitated when asked about whether he would attend the White House celebration, and Trump responded by rescinding the invitation to Curry.

The left, as always, hears RAAACISM not patriotism in the president’s comments.  They are subsequently completely unhinged in their response to their own fevered and deliberate misinterpretation of Trump’s comments.

Then-49er Colin Kaepernick who started this disturbing trend in response to the short-lived Black Lives Matter explained his rationale last year to NFL Media.

NFL reports:

“I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color,” Kaepernick told NFL Media in an exclusive interview after the game. “To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way. There are bodies in the street and people getting paid leave and getting away with murder.”

The resulting controversy was explosive, and Kaepernick has had trouble finding a new team since leaving the 49ers.

Since then, more and more players have started kneeling for the anthem, including at least one white player.

The president’s comments, reflective of a lot of Americans’ thoughts on the issue, were received as racist apparently because the majority of NFL players who take a knee during the anthem are black or brown.  Therefore, according to leftist logic, any criticism of these players’ actions is not about the players’ actions at all; it has to be—can only be—about their race.

The NFL issued the following statement:

Just so we are all clear: it is not disrespectful or divisive to take a knee during the national anthem, but it is disrespectful and divisive to speak out against it.

Ah yes, because Trump never attacks white people. Or something.

https://twitter.com/Chet_Cannon/status/911645285050458114

Washington Redskins’ linebacker Zach Brown makes a potentially arguable point, that football has nothing to do with the President.

For the point to stand, however, it has to work both ways.  Football is no place for political protests, either.

@Redteam: How about black supremacist and Antifas? What about the hole they come out of?

I saw a great video of the racism in Antifa today.
A POC (person of color) in antifa demonstration was berating a white male also in antifa.
She said his JOB was to break heads and get arrested.
She said that if he didn’t all he was doing was demonstrating.
That wasn’t good enough to redeem him from his white privilege!
He owed it to the POC in antifa to put himself on the front line and commit the crimes, the violence they told him to commit!
Meanwhile he’s listing all his previous violent accomplishments in behalf of antifa, as if he could EVER atone for being white.

Video here:

@Redteam: Word and I get along great. My favorite Conservative at FA–You’re in the top 20 RT.

Bill said white supremacists were from “back waters”–you guys are the Southerners -ask him?

@Richard Wheeler:

When are you going to answer my questions I put to you? Have you forgotten them? Do I need to ask them again?

@retire05: You do all the asking and none of the answering—I answered what I could–you give it a try.
How bout—do you think Trump didn’t know ALL the guys he were calling SOB’S were Black?

@Richard Wheeler:

What’s your take on the Alabama results

Republicans 1 Dims 0

@kitt: AND RT
Did you know Jared Kushner registered as a woman in N.Y?—Think on that for awhile

RT Dem didn’t compete in that one.

uh oh, S about to hit the Fan. Anheuser Busch tells NFL they don’t like the direction they are heading. 1.6 Billion ad contract ???

@Richard Wheeler: Did you know Mooche is registered as a woman in Chicago?—Think on that for awhile

@retire05: RW never answers questions that he doesn’t like the truth about.

@Richard Wheeler:

Word and I get along great. My favorite Conservative at FA–You’re in the top 20 RT.

i’m in everyone’s top 20. RW, you’re in my top 3. I can always rely on you.

@Redteam: Are you saying Trump hire and quick fire Anthony The Mooch Scaramucci is a woman? Does DT know? Maybe that’s why he fired him/her.
Does DT know his son in law registered as a woman?–at least he didn’t register Dem.–last straw

@Richard Wheeler:

Did you know Jared Kushner registered as a woman in N.Y?

Yes, after a full investigation, it turns out that the office where Kushner registered is staffed with all Dumbocraps and they thought it would be hilarious to modify his paperwork. Turns out the paperwork was filled in correctly, but had been changed by the Dumbo’s. More proof that Dims can’t be trusted with anything.

@Richard Wheeler:

How bout—do you think Trump didn’t know ALL the guys he were calling SOB’S were Black?

How do you know if they are all SOB’s? how do you know what color they are? Surely you’re not judging their race by the color of their skin. Aren’t you concerned with the content of their character? Haven’t you seen all these stories where white persons get a dna test and find out they’re black and never knew it. That’s one reason I wouldn’t take a dna test. I’m sure it would say I’m green and from Mars. I mean, I suspect it,, but don’t want to confirm it. Just love that dna test commercial where woman says ‘she found out she was 28% indian and never had a clue. That means at least one of her 4 grandparents was full blooded indian. and she never had a clue. LOL.
Just stay in my top 3 and I’ll work on getting the rest of that refund for you.

@Richard Wheeler:

quick fire Anthony The Mooch Scaramucci

document that incorrect spelling there RW, more ammo for additional tuition refund. The correct spelling of Mooche has an E on the end. Note’ short for Moochelle.

@Richard Wheeler:

: You do all the asking and none of the answering—I answered what I could–you give it a try.

You’re a lying POC. You never answer questions. You run from them like a scared rabbit and then, as predicted, come back and say things like “I answered what I could”. What did you answer, RW? Which question as there were more than one?

How bout—do you think Trump didn’t know ALL the guys he were calling SOB’S were Black?

Let me remind you of a couple of my questions:

were there 3? Or was there 4? Who did Trump name in that statement? 3 of them? Or 4 of them? Who were the ones you seem to think he named?

Now, man up and answer my questions. I am more than happy to give them to you again. Or, you can do what you ALWAYS do and lie and say you already answered them but oh, my, everyone else knows you’re lying.

I have great respect for the men, and women, who carry a gun just to go to work, be they police officers or military. I know the stress that one thing creates for their wives and husbands, not to mention their children. I also know that because of Obama, our police officers have been under assault and many of them have been murdered because of Obama’s statements.

So here is a youtube video of one of those people I respect telling the NFL how it really is. Let’s see if RW labels this man a “white supremacist”:

@retire05: You can give em but you can’t answer em–just revert to your name calling–enough of you –bother someone else

@Redteam: I find that commercial ridiculous as well—If Kushner is registered as a woman do you suppose Ivanka is registered as a man—that’s gonna confuse the hell out of their kids.
Seriously doubt the Black guys Trump called out are Actually sons of bitches.
Thanks for clarifying Mooch vs Mooche vs Moochelle—but does Trump know Scaramucci is a woman?

FA IS A HOOT–As it should be–an escape from reality–I took a job as a Security Guard part time—I’m out enjoy the day.

@Richard Wheeler:

: You can give em but you can’t answer em–just revert to your name calling–enough of you –bother someone else

I predicted (correctly) you would not answer my questions, just like your Socialist buddy, Greggie Goebbels, never answers questions or your radical nut job buddy, AJ(whatever) never answers questions. You can make all the excuses you want but it still makes you too stupid to defend your own position or a coward. And don’t complain “I went to war, I’m no coward.”

So did Benedict Arnold.

You just proved that you left wingers can’t take the heat and maybe that is why you were kicked out of the kitchen by the voters in November, 2016.

@Richard Wheeler:

but does Trump know Scaramucci is a woman?

even more scary, Does Obozo know Mooche is a guy? Wonder what he thought when they had to place ads for children?

@retire05:

or your radical nut job buddy, AJ(whatever)

As in HayJay, HoJay, AayJay, etc He’s always confused because he forgets which one he’s supposed to be each day. They should just reassign his names by days of week, SunJay, Monjay, TueJay, WedJay, ThuJay, FriJay, SatJay, then he wouldn’t have an excuse for being confused. Lord knows he’s so confused on everything else, maybe we can help him at least straight on who he is each day. You’d think that on Soro’s pay scale they could get someone that can remember his name.

@Richard Wheeler:

Seriously doubt the Black guys Trump called out are Actually sons of bitches.

Obviously you’re confused on what a bitch is. Need a refresher? Should have learned that at school. More ammo for additional tuition refund. Damn that 50% refund is not gonna be nearly enough at this rate.

@Redteam:

Seriously doubt the Black guys Trump called out are Actually sons of bitches.

Notice how RW refuses to answer who those “black” guys were that Trump actually named? Were there 3 of them, or were there 4? RW refuses to say.

@Richard Wheeler:

How bout—do you think Trump didn’t know ALL the guys he were calling SOB’S were Black?

Why would that matter? A son of a bitch is a son of a bitch, regardless of race. To differentiate would be racist.

@Richard Wheeler:

I took a job as a Security Guard part time—I’m out enjoy the day.

trying to get those Social Security checks up a little, eh?

@Redteam: Yeah it’s good to get out and still keep up with the young guys—good exercise and the time goes quickly–usually just 3 days a week,
I’ve never figured out why 05 thinks I should jump to respond to her questions when she’s never answered any of mine Thinks it’s a one way debate and always ends with the personal insults–tiresome and makes no sense. She gets her kicks but I’ve had enough.
I’m on here to have some fun as I think you are—don’t take any of it seriously .Life’s short There are plenty of real world problems to deal with.
Good night.

@Richard Wheeler:

I’ve never figured out why 05 thinks I should jump to respond to her questions when she’s never answered any of mine Thinks it’s a one way debate and always ends with the personal insults–tiresome and makes no sense.

Well, ask them again, Bubba. I refuse to answer your questions because of your tactic of answering a question with a question. So be the bigger person (you already think you’re hot stuff) and answer my questions first. Then I will be happy to answer any question you pose to me.

I insult you because you deserve to be insulted. You are dishonest and not truthful. That warrants any criticism you receive.

Fox News Apologizes For Using Photos of Eagles Players Praying During Segment on NFL Anthem Dispute

Come to think, I haven’t heard their “fair and balanced” claim for a long time. “In the tank for Trump” would be more accurate these days.

Trump has uninvited the team to the White House—after learning most of the team didn’t intend to show up. It’s his own damn fault.

Trump’s Battle with the NFL Has Reached Critical Mass — The president falsely linked the Super Bowl champions to national anthem protests

Through his statement and his tweets, Trump has painted the event’s cancelation as a noble defense of the military and the flag, writing that the Eagles “disagree with the President because he insists that they proudly stand for the National Anthem, hand on heart, in honor of the great men and women of our military and the people of our country.” It’s a familiar tactic. Trump has repeatedly used players who kneel in protest – whom he has called “sons of bitches” and suggested shouldn’t be in the country – to stoke a perverse brand of nationalism among his followers. But as several people have pointed out in the wake of the cancellation, not a single Eagles player knelt during the anthem last year.

@Greg: Yeah, it’s Trump’s fault many players protest the National Anthem because of “Hands Up, Don’t Shoot.” That’s exactly the kind of stupidity that promotes racism.

A growing body count of white CEOs shot by the police would probably get a somewhat different reaction.

@Greg: No doubt the left would employ racism to turn it into something they could use to further some liberal agenda, just as they have done police killing thugs trying to kill them.

The Philadelphia Eagles Football Team was invited to the White House. Unfortunately, only a small number of players decided to come, and we canceled the event. Staying in the Locker Room for the playing of our National Anthem is as disrespectful to our country as kneeling. Sorry!

9:55 PM – Jun 4, 2018

i.e., They must be compelled do as I command, and they must be made to do it in public.

NBA WINNERS be it Golden State or Cleveland—“We’re not going.”

@Greg: First and foremost, as a Cowboys fan, piss on the Eagles. Second, if they don’t want to come to the White House because they are infantile, immature and ignorant then screw em. They aren’t invited. What, Trump should BEG the crybabies to come to the White House so he can grovel at their feet?

You leftists can’t figure this out, so I’ll just spell it out… Trump doesn’t care about your widdle feewings. You on the left show unfettered hostility towards everything he or anyone in his family does and says simply because The Promise (Hillary’s ascension to the throne) was broken. I would have less respect for Trump if, after well over a year of TRYING to let bygones be bygones, he just kept giving you whiners the opportunity to spit in his face.

I doubt most of those illiterate thugs could pass a background check anyway.

Trump could probably get a few pro golfers to visit him and certainly a couple of Canadian hockey players
NASCAR Drivers–that’s his base..

“The left, as always, hears RAAACISM not patriotism in the president’s comments. They are subsequently completely unhinged in their response to their own fevered and deliberate misinterpretation of Trump’s comments.” If they hear ‘racism’ then they must be listening to Obozo. I’ve never heard Trump say even one ‘racist’ word. I challenge anyone to quote any racism by him.

@Richard Wheeler: @Richard Wheeler: Richard Wheeler

NBA WINNERS be it Golden State or Cleveland—“We’re not going.”

There are no NBA winners, they’re all losers. What’s wrong with NASCAR drivers? you don’t like patriotic people?

Party happened, the SB champs not in attendance. Trump should start a new tradition invite HS football champs, little league champs before college can twist them. The overpaid fools that have been so held down.@Greg: #180 I would bet more CEOs are shot by police than CEOs shoot other CEOs. https://www.theonion.com/police-repeatedly-shoot-tim-cook-after-mistaking-iphone-1

@Deplorable Me:

I doubt most of those illiterate thugs could pass a background check anyway

I’d guess that’s the largest reason they don’t go. They don’t allow convicted felons and muslims to visit.

@Redteam: Not until liberal propaganda tells him to. Oh, and Rich doesn’t do questions.

@Greg:

Come to think, I haven’t heard their “fair and balanced” claim for a long time. “In the tank for Trump” would be more accurate these days.

Hmmm, you think Shep, Chris and Cavuto are ‘in the tank’ for Trump? Then you are one ignorant as$hole.

From CRS Report for Congress: The United States Flag: Federal Law Relating to Display and Associated; CRS-9:

Nature of Codification of Customs and Rules

The Flag Code is a codification of customs and rules established for the use of
certain civilians and civilian groups. No penalty or punishment is specified in the
Flag Code for display of the flag of the United States in a manner other than as
suggested. Cases which have construed the former 36 U.S.C. § 17521 have concluded that the Flag Code does not proscribe conduct, but is merely declaratory and advisory.

That is, the Flag Code does not have the force of law.

There is, however, a First Amendment to the Constitution that establishes a fundamental right to free speech and expression.

@Redteam: I’ve got no problem with any of the athletes as long as they play hard and fair—Trump’s the one with the problem–cancelling a Super Bowl visit–why–never done before.
Letting his massive ego get in his way–as usual

Just noticed your ol gal pal’s 177—where the hell did she go.?
Miss the old voices of Conservatism Mata-Aqua and Aye Chi

@Greg:

There is, however, a First Amendment to the Constitution that establishes a fundamental right to free speech and expression.

So, an employer does not have the right to make his employees treat the customers with respect? The NFL has a contract with players and in that contract are behavior clauses. It says the players MUST stand for the anthem. The NFL even has rules about end zone demonstrations. The NFL controls what the players on the field (ON THE FIELD)can demonstrate and what they can’t, as exhibited by their prohibition of the Cowboys from having a memorial to the 5 officers killed by a Black Lives Matter zealot in Dallas. The NFL simply chooses to allow the protests which accuse the police of racist brutality and which dishonors the flag and the military.

Further enhancement of the disrespect to the military and the flag is that now it is interpreted as disrespect for the President of the United States, which add further appeal to whiny crybabies.

The protest is seeped in racism and the NFL was happy to allow it (while banning others) until it started costing them money. If they don’t stamp it out completely, they will continue to lose fans, viewers and money.

@Richard Wheeler: Maybe Trump cares more about the country and what the flag stands for than you care Rich. But then you have showed that over and over with you comments here.

@Deplorable Me, #194:

So, an employer does not have the right to make his employees treat the customers with respect? The NFL has a contract with players and in that contract are behavior clauses. It says the players MUST stand for the anthem.

That isn’t actually what the paragraphs say. They say that the national anthem must be played, that players must be on the sidelines, and that they should stand at attention. Possible fines are mentioned only for failure to appear on the field.

“The National Anthem must be played prior to every NFL game, and all players must be on the sideline for the National Anthem.

“During the National Anthem, players on the field and bench area should stand at attention, face the flag, hold helmets in their left hand, and refrain from talking.
The home team should ensure that the American flag is in good condition. It should be pointed out to players and coaches that we continue to be judged by the public in this area of respect for the flag and our country. Failure to be on the field by the start of the National Anthem may result in discipline, such as fines, suspensions, and/or the forfeiture of draft choice(s) for violations of the above, including first offenses.”

@Greg: So what does this have to do with patriotism? That is what this is. You either respect the country and what the flag represents or you do not. If you do not, then why should those who do have any respect for those who do not? That is exactly what this is about. You and your ignorant liberals can spin it any way you want, but that does not make it true. What this issue does show is where the Democrats stand, what they believe and the lengths they will go to disrespect our country to win an election. It means that none of you are ethical enough to do even a small thing like show respect for the flag of their country and for those who have sacrificed some or all. Showing respect does not mean that our country always has done the right things because men and women actually run our country. Respect is owed because most try to do the right things and our founding documents provide the means to correct wrongs.

Ask yourself how many MIAs in the Vietnam War died when the Democratic congress voted to not pay the funds to North Vietnam agreed upon by the treaty they approved? How many veterans continue to blame those Democrats for their actions by protesting the flag? They protested using their voice in public forums and with their votes. They did this because they know that the only thing that can make the needed changes are by following the processes developed by the founding fathers represented by our flag.

Trumps actions are not based upon ego. They are consistent with his beliefs and personal values. Trump may be criticized for the way he does things, but should not be criticized for his patriotism and his love of country. Maybe you all should look closely at the personal values you espouse before you throw stones at Trump!

@Deplorable Me, #194:

The protest is seeped in racism and the NFL was happy to allow it (while banning others) until it started costing them money.

To me, the frequency with which unarmed black people are shot by police is a more likely indication of racism than protesting the fact that it’s happening.

@Randy, #197:

So what does this have to do with patriotism? That is what this is. You either respect the country and what the flag represents or you do not.

Going through the prescribed motions doesn’t make anyone a patriot. The flag is only a symbol of the values and principles it represents—such as all of us being created equal, and all of us having a fundamental, constitutionally-guaranteed right to free speech and self expression. One person might go through all the proper motions and be a complete hypocrite, imagining himself to be fundamentally superior to others; another might deliberately refrain, to make a statement about equality and justice.

Those who knelt during the anthem were not being disrespectful. They were assuming a prayerful position to make a point. For which they were chastised by the nation’s President.

I will not fall in line behind this man. I won’t let him tell me what to think about the words and deeds of others. I will decide for myself.

@Greg: Definition of “is” is? It says what it says; they should STAND for the national anthem. The NFL simply has chosen to show how gutless they are, how they support the racist denigration of police, the military and the flag just so they don’t have to ruffle any prima donna feathers.

To me, the frequency with which unarmed black people are shot by police is a more likely indication of racism than protesting the fact that it’s happening.

Though more whites are shot than blacks, perhaps in regards to the blacks that are shot, the issue should be taken up with the black community. Blacks commit a disproportionate amount of the crime and, especially since the left exploited the death of Michael Brown, an idiot giant that tried to take a policeman’s weapon and kill him with it and instead wound up dead, the Black Lives Matter movement, premised on the “Hands Up, Don’t Shoot” lie, more police have been attacked assaulted and killed, tensions have risen higher and some cops loose control of their nerve, fearing death, and shoot the blacks that are resisting or assaulting them. But, at least from the police point of view, it is not due to racism. The racism is from the left and BLM.

The resolution is, apparently, for criminals that happen to be black to not be apprehended and that the lives of police matter less than a petty thief that would rather kill than go to jail.

More whites are shot by police than blacks, but we would never know this without statistics because the corrupt liberal media cannot exploit some white guy getting shot like they can a black guy. The fact of the matter is, though, that there has never been a black death any liberal gave a goddamn about except as a political tool. This is evident as how they grow suddenly silent and stare at their shoes when black on black crime, always high where liberals control the area and due to the rampant poverty that always accompanies long-term liberal rule.

The players’ protest is based entirely on racist liberal lies, yet the left defends it. What does this tell us about the left?
