My initial reaction to Time naming Taylor Swift its Person of the Year was simply a desperate publication trying to move the most dead tree magazines and maximize clicks. After reading this post I see another piece of a bigger picture that I would have dismissed as conspiracy theory just a few years ago. That was then; this is now.
