BOOM: The wife of obama’s Deputy Attorney General was on Fusion GPS’s payroll

This is another brick in the wall I have been expecting. Last week I wrote a post in which there was a timeline of the Russian connection and investigation. We learned that FBI agent Peter Strzok had been demoted to the HR department at the FBI in light of the discovery of his anti-Trump texts to his mistress. FBI agents are allowed to have their political leanings, so Strzok must have done something considerably worse than what we know about to have received such a punishment.

It had been revealed that obama administration Deputy Attorney General Bruce Ohr had been in contact with both Christopher Steele and Glenn Simpson– Steele before the election and Simpson after.

Devin Nunes newest advisory explains why democrats filed phony ethics complaints against him- to keep him from getting to the truth:

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes, R-Calif., told Fox News on Friday that his investigators have already uncovered evidence of “abuse” in the U.S. government’s surveillance practices.

“I believe there’s evidence that abuses have occurred,” Nunes said in his first interview since the House Ethics Committee dismissed allegations he had wrongly released classified information as part of the panel’s Russia investigation.

“We have had an ongoing investigation into DOJ [Department of Justice] and FBI since mid-summer for both FISA [Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court] abuse and other matters that we can’t get into too much. But it is very concerning.”

Nunes pointed to the leaked conversation of former national security adviser, Gen. Mike Flynn with the Russian ambassador. The congressman said he is unaware of any leak investigation by the FBI or Justice Department.

“I hate to use the word corrupt, but they become so dirty that, who is watching the watchmen? Who is investigating these people? There is no one.”

Corrupt indeed. Tonight we learn that Deputy AG Ohr’s wife was on the payroll of Fusion GPS:

A senior Justice Department official demoted last week for concealing his meetings with the men behind the anti-Trump “dossier” had even closer ties to Fusion GPS, the firm responsible for the incendiary document, than have been disclosed, Fox News has confirmed: The official’s wife worked for Fusion GPS during the 2016 election.

Contacted by Fox News, investigators for the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI) confirmed that Nellie H. Ohr, wife of the demoted official, Bruce G. Ohr, worked for the opposition research firm last year. The precise nature of Mrs. Ohr’s duties – including whether she worked on the dossier – remains unclear but a review of her published works available online reveals Mrs. Ohr has written extensively on Russia-related subjects. HPSCI staff confirmed to Fox News that she was paid by Fusion GPS through the summer and fall of 2016.

Fusion GPS has attracted scrutiny because Republican lawmakers have spent the better part of this year investigating whether the dossier, which was funded by the Hillary Clinton campaign and the Democratic National Committee, served as the basis for the Justice Department and the FBI to obtain FISA surveillance last year on a Trump campaign adviser named Carter Page.

“The House Intelligence Committee,” Chairman Devin Nunes, R-Calif., told Fox News in a statement on Monday, “is looking into all facets of the connections between the Department of Justice and Fusion GPS, including Mr. Ohr.”

If she worked on the dossier, hoo boy.

We are inching closer to find out who secured the FISA warrant and on exactly what it was based. Congressional investigators are saying that they are being stonewalled and slow-walked in getting documents. Current FBI Director Christopher Wray said he could not legally give Congress access to the FISA warrant but there was someone who could:

FBI Director Christopher Wray told lawmakers Thursday he could not “lawfully” give them access to a confidential warrant application for permission to surveil members of the Trump campaign, but President Donald Trump could lawfully order him to do just that through his subordinates at the FBI and Department of Justice (DOJ).

The FBI’s Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) court warrant application would reveal whether the bureau relied upon the Steele dossier – unverified opposition research on President Donald Trump financed by the Clinton campaign – to obtain a warrant allowing them to surveil Trump campaign officials.

During his Thursday testimony before the House Judiciary Committee, Wray managed to conceal the extent to which the FBI relied upon the Steele dossier to obtain a warrant from the secretive FISA court, citing the document’s confidential status and deference to the ongoing inspector general (IG) investigation into whether the conduct of FBI officials was politically motivated.

I think Trump already knows the answer already. I think Trump knows a lot of things already. I think Trump is intentionally letting this play out a little at a time, and having various people leak contrived stories such how much he watches TV or how much Diet Coke he drinks.

Everyone is being played, and it’s working. It’s part of the reason a frenzy is growing on the left. Democrats sidelined Sessions and Nunes intentionally, but half of that is ended and Rosenstein is going to have to answer some questions soon. At some point we will learn how far up the obama administration this went. Remember, Trump wasn’t supposed to win.

Is there a cranny these cockroaches wont slither out of?

First, in true leftist CNN fashion, let me point out the MOST important element of your post: you used “already” twice in this sentence.

I think Trump already knows the answer already.

MY GOD!! HEADLINE! IGNORE THE ADDITIONAL PROOF OF DEMOCRAT COLLUSION!!

Second, I am shocked the corrupt liberal media is not reporting that Trump is hooked on coke. They can always tweet a correction in a few days.

Third, anyone that believes there is a shred of honorable, honest investigation involved in this witch hunt, they are as demented as Pelosi.

“The fix was in from the beginning. It was rigged” Trump was telling the truth from the start wasn’t he?

What a wicked weave of deception. I am fully convinced there is deep state collusion to bring Trump down. Now the proof of it is coming out. I think he is brilliant. .

No big headlines in the New York Pravda(Times) very little from the talking heads no noise no sound save for the crickets even though its late fall and winters on he way listen to the crickets on the telly and not a word from the Birdcage Linners

The wife of obama’s Deputy Attorney General was on Fusion GPS’s payroll

Allow me to ask the obvious question: So what?

The Mueller investigation isn’t about the credibility of Steele’s opposition research dossier. It isn’t going to be cited as evidence. Nothing in it would ever have been admissible in court. Sources weren’t named. However credible people might think it to be, it’s hearsay, not sworn statements or documented fact. All it might have done is pointed investigators in certain directions. If they looked that way and found something, that’s where things actually begin to matter.

@Spurwing Plover: Well, the purpose of the liberal media is not to point out that they are all promoting the liberal agenda. It is to convince people that Republicans are corrupt.

@Greg:

Allow me to ask the obvious question: So what?

Sure, it’s not like we need FURTHER, IRREFUTABLE, UNDENIABLE evidence the investigation into Trump/Russian collusion is being carried out by rabid liberal ideologues intent on upending a legal and legitimate election. It’s not like they have a history of forming the politically-compliant conclusion FIRST, then “investigating”.

What difference, at this point, does it make?

The Mueller investigation isn’t about the credibility of Steele’s opposition research dossier. It isn’t going to be cited as evidence.

Except that without the phony dossier, there would BE no investigation. Of course it won’t be used in court; that would turn out to be an embarrassment even for liberals who are immune to having their blatant lies called out.

I think they never thought Trump would win and this was still a set up to trap him for after the election. He was to be arrested and tried and imprisoned for daring to question the “one”. As an example for future wannabee’s. Since he won they are desperately trying to play out the cards they stacked hoping to make it work. But he knows the deck. If he had lost he would have no access to the rare few who can help or protect him. Just an opinion..

@Greg: Greggie, if this same circumstance where reversed and this was a demoncrap President you would be saying just the opposite so your credibility once again is BS!!

@Bill… Deplorable Me, #7:

Except that without the phony dossier, there would BE no investigation.

There were many reasons why Donald Trump’s background should have been closely examined before the GOP endorsed him as their candidate for president. They didn’t bother. Instead, any questions that were raised about him were discredited and the people asking them were belittled and attacked. The GOP flipped into that mode the moment it became clear that Trump would likely beat out the other republican contenders.

Without an election forcing the issue, it’s highly unlikely that Trump could have passed muster to be granted a security clearance. For that he would have necessarily been investigated. Financial dealings, susceptibility to blackmail, conflicts of interest, and foreign connections would all have been scrutinized. This should have been done from the start.

The investigation leading to Steele’s compilation of the dossier was initiated as opposition research—something that’s routinely done during most high-level political races. Whether the dossier itself led directly to the wider investigation or not isn’t necessarily relevant. The Supreme Court’s standing interpretation of the reasonableness requirement likely has some bearing on that question.

@Greg: So, he hasn’t undergone a security clearance background check? Is that your belief?

Sheesh.

The governmental agencies that would conduct such in-depth investigations of any questionable security clearance issues are the very ones that Trump and his followers have been attacking and demeaning.

@Greg: You are projecting again , its the last President with a sealed secret background. Hanging with members of a domestic terrorist anti-american group.
If you really knew how inane it sounds that Trump wasn’t vetted, the DNC ie Hillary had to pay to have crap made up about him. That means top spies 007 type couldnt turn up a bone up in his closet, let alone a skeleton.

@Greg: So, you are asking me to believe that Trump has access to all the intelligence, intelligence services and is Commander in Chief of the most powerful military in the solar system without a security check.

OK.

@Deplorable Bill, #14:

So, you are asking me to believe that Trump has access to all the intelligence, intelligence services and is Commander in Chief of the most powerful military in the solar system without a security check.

How, exactly, would a security clearance be denied to a person who has already been nominated, elected, and sworn in as President of the United States? There’s no safety mechanism to prevent what has happened. It’s assumed that candidates will be vetted by their party and scrutinized by the press before they’re nominated, but both the press and the party establishment have been successfully portrayed as The Enemy—as have the agencies that would normally conduct security background checks. This is all an aberration. Nothing worked the way it was supposed to.

@Greg:

Nothing worked the way it was supposed to.

Boo hoo hoo nothing worked , there is no hope, its the end of the world bwaaaaa.
No amount of weaponizing the intelligence agencies, taking over the DNC, lying, illegal unmasking, leaking to the MSM, trying to shame voters, fake polls. It was like we did this stuff so much the people became immune Trump the superbug of dirty politics.
That wont stop the resistance, we can do this for the next 7 years!

@kitt, #16:

The point was that Trump was not vetted prior to his election. Consequently, you don’t actually know that he wasn’t elected as a result of a massive Russian disinformation program that took full advantage of unguarded internet and social media mechanisms; you don’t know that the Trump organization wasn’t aware of and making use of this; you don’t know that there are no serious financial conflicts of interest—that he isn’t deeply indebted to Russian investors, or making use of laundered Russian money; you don’t know that they don’t have information they could use to topple his administration, putting them in a position to blackmail the President of the United States. You don’t know because nobody looked, and don’t seem to find anything troublesome about the fact that he’s doing everything he can to keep anyone from doing so.

@Greg: Yes Yes he was the fake dossier was made and released prior to the election, fake fake fake the couldnt find a damn thing on him so manufactured a POs pile of lies and fed it to the press.

The dossier doesn’t matter. If Mueller finds evidence that clearly establishes wrongdoing, that will matter, and nobody is going to stop him from looking.

@Greg:

How, exactly, would a security clearance be denied to a person who has already been nominated, elected, and sworn in as President of the United States?

Simple. He wouldn’t qualify. He would be a risk.

If you think Trump’s past was not known to the intelligence agencies, particularly after Obama had been conducting illegal surveillance on him and his team for six months, you are deluded (well, you ARE deluded). This is why your little snipe hunt of a Russian collusion connection is so obviously phony and the true goal so transparent.

There is nothing there to restrict Trump’s access to classified information and there is nothing there for any criminal prosecution. All that is sought is anything that can be construed as a “misdemeanor” and used as grounds for an impeachment.

Come on, Greg. Really. You think the nuclear football is going to be handed to someone based on “assumptions”? Also, do you actually expect ANYONE to believe that the media has not sifted through Trump’s entire life, looking for the silver bullet you all seek? Really? REALLY? REEEAALLLLY?

See, this is how us rational people know a liberal KNOWS they have failed and, in desperation, have given up.

Nothing worked the way it was supposed to.

Using phony sexual misconduct accusations to win an election worked. You should be so proud, supporting late term abortion over false allegations.

Consequently, you don’t actually know that he wasn’t elected as a result of a massive Russian disinformation program that took full advantage of unguarded internet and social media mechanisms;

Give it up, Greg. Dreams are just that; dreams.

@Bill… Deplorable Me, #20:

Simple. He wouldn’t qualify. He would be a risk.

A President of the United States is not investigated before being given a security clearance. A top-level clearance automatically goes with the job.

Does the President Have a Security Clearance?

Shocking, isn’t it? It’s not just the President, either. Security clearances are also automatically conferred upon all elected members of Congress without investigations. The same is true of members of the Supreme Court.

How the Government Grants Security Clearances

@Greg:

A President of the United States is not investigated before being given a security clearance. A top-level clearance automatically goes with the job.

Trump was. Illegally, by Obama. Plus, he leads a very public life.

Hillary was investigated and vetted, by virtue of her gross negligence in handling national security as Secretary of State. That didn’t seem to bother some of you people.

Plus, he leads a very public life.

His financial activities and connections—domestic and international—are about as transparent as mud. Consider the tax information he has made public, compared with other presidents and presidential candidates. Bear in mind that the 2005 “release” consists of only two pages, totally devoid of specific detail, and “released” only by way of an unauthorized leak.

Almost nothing is know about Trump’s dealings and investment interests.

@Greg:

His financial activities and connections—domestic and international—are about as transparent as mud.

Why… because it doesn’t say what you WANT it to say? Because it doesn’t say that he is going to be influenced by Russian interests? I must once again refer you to how much you were willing to overlook, that was PLAINLY TRANSPARENT, about Hillary and HER financial activities and connections, domestic and international, in addition to her failure as a Secretary of State.

You WANT to see that level of corruption in Trump and you are totally frustrated that you can’t find it. Perhaps it simply ain’t there. Ever consider that possibility?

His financial activities and connections—domestic and international—are about as transparent as mud.

Why… because it doesn’t say what you WANT it to say? Because it doesn’t say that he is going to be influenced by Russian interests?

No, because virtually nothing is known about his financial activities and connections, and he clearly wants to keep it that way. He said he would release his tax returns as soon as the “audit” was done. That was a lie. Any audits on most of the years in question were already closed. His flunkies inadvertently revealed that before the election by releasing a notification from the IRS. His followers didn’t give a damn.

We’re never going to see any tax returns from this guy unless they turn up in a courtroom.

A history of Donald Trump’s business dealings in Russia

Greg dont you suppose that if there were anything in his returns of interest, the IRS would have told the DOJ? Everyone knew they were trying to pin anything Russian on Trump. So logically you can let that theory go, we know they were not above spying on Trump and his campaign or any other unconstitutional actions that would have derailed his run for the White House.
No other person in history has been better vetted.
CNN even knows how much diet soda he consumes in a day.
NBC knows he has a new crapper seat.

@kitt, #26:

The IRS isn’t at the beck and call of the DOJ or the nation’s intelligence community. Few things are locked down as tightly as a person’s tax returns. Many people don’t seem to realize this, any more than they realize a President of the United States isn’t investigated before being given full and unrestricted access to nation’s most highly classified information—or psychologically evaluated before being given the power to destroy all human civilization.

26 U.S. Code § 6103 – Confidentiality and disclosure of returns and return information

@Greg: And the IRS didnt target conservative teaparty groups 2012 election cycle. I dont believe they would stop at anything any possible tool available, do you? They thought they were saving the nation.
Honestly if you dont think a fake dossier doctored and dressed up to obtain a FISA warrant isnt important you do live on Fantasy Island.

A recent Inspector General study concluded that the IRS didn’t treat conservative groups any differently than liberal groups. The same sort of review criteria were applied to both. Of course the conservative media’s reporting on the story will focus exclusively on the review of conservative organizations.

As IRS Targeted Tea Party Groups, It Went After Progressives Too

They all should have been closely scrutinized. It’s the job of the IRS to determine if organizations are misrepresenting themselves to improperly claim an advantageous tax status.

@Greg:

His followers didn’t give a damn.

I certainly don’t, because the left never had an issue with Obama keeping everything about his life and past secret. They never had a problem with Hillary deleting 33,000 State Department emails with the lamest of explanation. Liberals had no problem with Obama’s lame explanations of his part in the IRS scandal, Fast and Furious, Benghazi, or the Obamacare debacle.

In short, you simply want to fish. You happily accept as true the most blatant of lies from liberals but you never trust a word a Republican utters. No, Trump has no obligation whatsoever to release any more of his records than he has and, until the left explains why they support secrecy and lies of their own idols, he should release nothing but the required information. WHICH he has done.

26 U.S. Code § 6103 – Confidentiality and disclosure of returns and return information

Not all that solid, as Obama proved with his IRS targeting campaign.

It’s all about Citizens United

Yeah, that was a common lie trotted out by liberals as a defense of their violations of the law, but it was just that… a lie.

@kitt:

Greg dont you suppose that if there were anything in his returns of interest, the IRS would have told the DOJ?

Yeah, after all they didn’t hesitate to release personal information of the conservatives they were targeting for political purposes. If there was any negative information within his returns, it would already be public, via Madcow.
