My wife, the syndicated San Francisco Chronicle columnist Debra J. Saunders, has learned that at least 500,000 Californians may lose their health insurance next year — and that’s a conservative estimate. From her Token Conservative blog:
According to this link as of December 2012, there were 491,977 covered lives in individual health care plans regulated by the state Department Insurance that are not grandfathered under the Affordable Care Act. (If they bought a plan after March 2010, their coverage is not grandfathered.) This is a 2012 number, but if the number of people with private coverage hasn’t changed much in the last ten months, that’s half a million Californians who will lose their coverage.
Between 7 million and 16 million will be losing their health care plans at a minimum.
You can keep your doctor.
NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH)– In the midst of major changes in health care, UnitedHealthCare has sent thousands of pink slips to Connecticut doctors.
Termination letters went to physicians caring for Medicare patients. Those letters were sent out to doctors caring for ‘Medicare Advantage’ patients. It’s a plan, marketed to Seniors to provide additional services through UnitedHealthCare.
A mix of primary care and specialty doctors are affected by it. And it comes at a questionable time.
Open enrollment for Medicare starts next Tuesday, and it’s still not clear at this time as to which doctors are still in the United network.
The Connecticut State Medical Society is fighting back. The biggest concern is patient access to healthcare.
Health care premiums will go down $2500 per family per year.

Unfortunately as she reported on Monday’s New Day, despite trying for fourteen days including at hours that were claimed to be “off peak,” she still hasn’t been able to establish an account.
Getting insurance will be “as easy to get as “a plane ticket on Kayak.”

Even some of our friendly countries who embraced our Liar-N-Chief while he first ran for president are realizing how he lied to them, and still is.
O.K. we hear a lot about the site and the issues with the site. I truly believe the administration is thankful every waking minute and news page is filled with this news because it takes away from the increase in premiums, deductibles, and co-pays for both office visits and prescriptions. Let’s not talk about if you need a knee or hip replacement. Oh I forget that a couple of weeks ago it was announced those are n0w considered ‘comfort’ surgeries and will not be allowed. I would not be surprised if the administration was complicit in ensuring the site was all dorked up. Look, a squirrel.

According to a press release Friday, 85,659 people have enrolled through the Maryland exchange. However, 82,473 of those have signed up for Medicaid, accounting for just over 96 percent of sign ups.
That is an unsustainable trend.
We heard Obama say If you like your insurance plan, you can keep your plan.
Recently Obama’s old pal David Axilrod tried to move that goalpost to, If you like your insurance plan most of you can keep it.
But even this isn’t true unless you also move the goalposts on the definition of ”most.”
Here’s the fact:
19 million Americans are on the individual insurance policy market.
Millions of those Americans on the individual market have already received plan-cancellation notices.
Little New Jersey has ordered 800,000 off their plans already.
Experts in insurance estimate 16 million of all 19 million will be cancelled because their policies do not meet ObamaCare standards.
How can 3 out of 19 be ”most?”
It cannot.
