If we continue to give Democrats extra time because they need to express their “important points,” we need to change the rules; otherwise, it looks suspicious to the casual observer expecting the debates to be fair and honest.
In the first presidential debate, Obama took advantage of an extra three minutes and fourteen-seconds. If we accrue that time in Super Bowl dollars, each second is extremely valuable. Biden was cut back slightly, the reason is obvious, he was only allowed an extra minute and twenty-two seconds and the whole Democrat Party was holding its breath during the excess time. In the second presidential debate, Obama required an extra four minutes and eighteen-seconds to dance around the different questions.
Despite the extra time, it is obvious he needs a little more time to express himself succinctly, but if we don't make an extra time allowance for Obama or an official time handicap for Romney, the public is liable to doubt the critical speaking abilities of Obama and Democrats in general.
CNN explained the situation with perfect What Lies In Your Debt? letter-to-employees-defending-crowley”>Liberal logic in an email to their staff:
On why Obama got more time to speak, it should be noted that Candy and her commission producers tried to keep it even but that Obama went on longer largely because he speaks more slowly. We're going to do a word count to see whether, as in Denver, Romney actually got more words in even if he talked for a shorter period of time.
Liberals are always emphasizing “fairness” and to be fair, we should take into account Romney's superior grasp of the English language. Some people are upset with Candy Crowley for the time discrepancy, but I am sure she was using Liberal logic to be fair. I don't think it is necessary to have calls for throwing her under the bus, she won't fit, maybe a deuce and a half, but not your everyday Greyhound. She surely comes by her first name honestly.
If the First Lady really wants to lead a cheering group, she should be allowed to wear a college cheer leading outfit and really lead some good cheers. Republicans are known to be accommodating and acting like whipped dogs, so there should be no problem.
I am proposing an extra five minutes of time for Obama and all future Democrats, to allow enough time for them to collect their thoughts and express themselves with clarity and organization. The public doesn't need to know, we can use timers with a bell and not show the audience the actual times.
This will be a tremendous advantage for Obama, and he needs all the help he can get.
A professional horseman for over 50 years, Skook continues to work with horses. Skook has finished an historical novel, Fifty Thousand Years, that traces a mitochondrial line of DNA from 50,000 years ago to the present. The story follows a line of courageous women, from the Ice Ages to the present, as they meet the challenges of survival with grit and creativity. These are not women who whimper of being victims, they meet the challenges of survival as women who use their abilities without excuses or remorse, these women are winners, they are our ancestors.
Fifty Thousand Years is available in paperback and e-book, it is getting great reviews. You can purchase a copy here; Â Visit me on Facebook.

Romney should cancel 3rd “debate” also know as Democrap showboating.
Ultra-conservative righties remind me of drug addicted alcoholics—they have to keep blaming other people (Candy Crowley) or other things for their own candidates failings. This characteristic is exemplified by the latest debates: Most liberals easily admitted that Obama lost the first debate; but conservatives can’t stand the idea that their candidate, Romney, could have lost the second debate on his own lack of merit.
Lib, its called humor, but as we all know, there is an element of truth and tragedy in every expression of humor; otherwise, the humor fails. You cry out with umbrage to the humor. Obviously, the barbs within the humor struck a nerve and the article qualifies as truth, since you don’t dispute the facts, but choose instead to grasp ineffectually at tangents. The tragedy is that the transgressions at the debate made a mockery of the concept of debating.
Humor is difficult to write, and is always adjusted toward a target demographic. You were not included, and it is just as well, since you seem to be a drab humorless person, but thanks for qualifying my humble efforts at comedy.
@Liberal1 (Objectivity):
Really, Lib1? Obama showed absolutely NO merit, whatsoever. Either in the first debate, where he played an empty chair, or this one, where he channeled his inner Biden.
Speaking louder, and longer, than your opponent does not merit a “win” in a debate. When everything coming out of Obama’s mouth was intentionally misleading, and most of it downright false, he couldn’t have “won” a debate with a preschooler, much less another candidate for the Presidency.
Progs are masters of projection and rationalization. obama needs more time because he speaks slower, Mooshell is able to flap her flippers because she is spontaneous. Carney has to lie about Libya because his boss instructed him to. No not obama , Jarrett. Rice goes on multiple news shows and lies about Libya because well she just did. Progs repeat the lies because they are incapable of rational thought. They spend most of their lives blaming others for their failings, clarifying what the meaning of is, is. Best of all when they are caught in a lie and the lie is documented and archived on video for all to see, they still deny the lie and blame their lies on the ones who expose them for the lying sacks of shi* they are.
Lying becomes tricky with multiple representatives of the administration have varying lies, and then when the falsehoods are exposed, the lies must transform. Realistically, it is the nature of a good liar to apply his own version of the lie, while others may figure their lie is closer to being believable and they are sticking to it. It all becomes confusing for those of us who want to know the truth or we would settle for a version of the actual events without political “truth” throw in. After nearly a month and a half of creative lies trying to maintain political advantage after a disaster results in tangled web of half-truths and deceit.
@Skook:
One thing I want to know from our liberal “friends” who insist on repeating that Obama called the Benghazi attack “an act of terror”.
If that is the case, then why did Biden state, unequivocally, in the VP debate, that the intelligence community was providing Obama and himself with faulty intelligence that the attack was due to protests about the film.
Who, exactly, is lying about it?
Given what Obama and Biden both said, it has to be one or the other of them that lied. No mispeak. No word flub. No contextual misunderstanding. One of them, at the very least, lied. And lied to the American people.
I’m fast getting a picture of the Obama administration telling all of these little lies about the incident in order to muddy up our understanding of exactly what happened, until sometime after the election. The sad thing is, too many Americans voting in November either won’t be asking the question of who lied, and many of them won’t even be putting two and two together to understand that either Biden, or Obama, or both, lied straight to the American people.
If this was understood by more of the voting public, Romney would win in a landslide.
They’re going to count words?
If “uh” and “ahhhh” count as words, then Obama got in more words than Romney, as well as more time.
@johngalt: #4,
Probably right, but when he kicks into his ‘preacher-pulpit-pounding’ mode voice and demeanour, he loses all credibility and becomes a caricature.
Not to be too far off topic but, Bill Clinton’s remark about O’Bama not FIXING the economy and that Bill thought Barack was going to ‘CRY’ must be the start of something special eh?
CharlieGee
hi,
I thought so, because of HILARY taking the responsibility on BENGHAZY,
I don’t think we are alone in that,
I even think that OBAMA will lose votes because he did not take responsibility,

CURT
THANK YOU
YOU FIXED IT
Rules that should be enacted:
(1) Both candidates agree on a moderator. It won’t be a member of the propaganda media.
(2) When the time runs out, the microphone is shut off.
(3) Each candidate is given 5-10 minutes at the end to talk about whatever they want. This way they can bring up things they want.
(4) They can have notes in case they need to give a reference to something they said, so that they get it accurate.
Smorgasbord
you got the right rules pattern there
