ABC News pins Aurora shooting on Tea Party [Reader Post]

I am sitting here slowly draining an adult beverage as I write this. This day began horribly with the shooting in Aurora Colorado that thus far has resulted in 12 deaths and 59 wounded. Then it was made even worse by the utterly demented opining of Brian Ross and George Stephanopoulos that the shooting could be linked the Tea Party.

The shooter in Aurora has been identified as James Holmes, a Ph.D candidate and on Good Morning America Brian Ross made an immediate connection to the Tea Party

ABC News has suggested that James Holmes — the suspect in today’s shooting in Aurora, Colorado — may have a connection to the Tea Party.

ABC’s Brian Ross reported this morning that there is “a Jim Holmes of Aurora, Colorado, page on the Colorado Tea party site… talking about him joining the Tea Party last year.”

The exchange between the Clinton/democrat party flack George Stephanopoulos and the astonishingly stupid Brian Ross:

Stephanolpoulos: I’m going to go to Brian Ross. You’ve been investigating the background of Jim Holmes here. You found something that might be significant.

Ross: There’s a Jim Holmes of Aurora, Colorado, page on the Colorado Tea party site as well, talking about him joining the Tea Party last year. Now, we don’t know if this is the same Jim Holmes. But it’s Jim Holmes of Aurora, Colorado.

Stephanolpoulos: Okay, we’ll keep looking at that. Brian Ross, thanks very much.

He found something. Ross found something. We don’t know if this is the same James Holmes but let’s go to air with it anyway since we can smear the Tea Party! And God knows there can’t be many people named James Holmes in the United States!

The Tea Party has been associated with no violence but it is incessantly accused of wrongdoing and complicity in events such as these. The Occupy, movement on the other hand, is overflowing with violence.

The Occupy movement has a horrific record of violence. Occupy Wall Street Exposed has counted a dozen deaths, including three murders; more than a dozen rapes; more than 25 disgusting cases of indecent exposure, public defecation, etc; more than 500 thefts; more than 6,800 arrests; and in excess of $12 million in property damage. A sorry record by any standard.

As if that wasn’t bad enough, left wing goons are also blaming Rush Limbaugh.

You would think that maybe the left would have learned its lesson following the Giffords shooting.

But noooo…..

The rush to judgment just destroys any notion that there are any unbiased journalists left, especially at ABC News. Hell, what I am trying to say? There really aren’t any journalists left.

Just Obama water carriers.

Stephanopoulos and Ross are the worst kind of pond scum.

Since the state of CO has open carry and CCW but liberal hotspot Aurora bans guns is this connected to Bloomberg’s felony commiting mayors against law abiding citzens owning guns(I forget the offical name)? I know they have a policy of getting local people on cities payrolls whose job it is to push gun control. The fact we cant keep crack and other drugs baned thoughout the nation out of prisons and DC mayor Marian Barrys body, shows how stupid local gun bans are.

When I heard about the ABC story this morning, I had to wonder if there’s a Brian Ross listed on a sexual predator, or violent parolee, or some other list… maybe that should be thrown out in the public eye just for him; Stephanopolis too. Inaccruate? Sure, but no less acurate than their reporting right?

And the screaming will continue, seize the guns etc etc… How did our country get so stupid?

1stworlder and Scott of OK. should have their brains examined to see if anything is actually. working. How do they connect some unsubstanciated comment about the shooter “possibly” being a Tea Party member with gun control and the US being stupid?!!? These two people need to have some serious contact with reality. Aurora being a “liberal hotspot”? You’ve got to be mixing, right? Who do you know in my hometown that’s trying to seriously overturn the 2nd Amendment. You both sound like rabid fringe NRA
nut Ted Nugent. Get a grip people! This is a horrible tragedy, not a forum for wing-nuts.

@grier in aurora:

You should be more upset at ABC, Stephanopoulos, and Ross for making an inaccurate, politically calculated statement that just threw crap all over the identity of an innocent man.

@johngalt: johngalt, he isn’t worth replying to. Typical lib, when you cannot dispute facts, you go on the personal attack.

There’s a rich irony here.
This guy didn’t say anything TEA Party-ish.
He didn’t wear any TEA Party stuff.
He has no history with the TEA Party.
BUT, the media tarred the TEA Party with his act.

Now compare:
Nidal Hassan went back and forth in emails to a known al-Qaeda terrorist leader.
Nidal Hassan dressed in his Muslim prayer clothes.
Nidal Hassan screamed, “Allahu Achbar!” as he shot over 10 people to death.
But the mainstream media cannot find any tie-in between him and Islamic extremism!

Oh NanG – like grier in aurora#3 says – Get a grip!!

Who was insinuating anything? The shills for the Left MSM – Brian Ross and George Stephanopoulos ??!?! Nooo… The MSM tripping over themselves to jump to invalid conclusions ?? To be the “first” to get it on the Air and social media!!

And, smearing an innocent man’s name in the process? Huh? Wha…What? The end justifying the means?? Did I hear an apology directly to the wrong [ Tea Party ] Jim Holmes? Surely you jest! No, No, the apology was to “a” Jim Holmes…..

Your analogy? Makes me wonder how many lefty’s walk into things – doors – you know that are right in front of their faces….

On November 5, 2009, Major Nidal Malik Hasan, a psychiatrist, engaged in a similar terrorist mass killing. As Major Hasan, shot and killed 13 people , including a pregnant woman, and as he tried to kill 32 more he shouted “Allahu Akbar!”.

Tell me FAITH, has MSM yet attributed motivations or actions Major Nidal Malik Hasan to Islam? Major Nidal Malik Hasan is an American Muslim of Palestinian descent who maintained ongoing contact with an American born Islamic iman: Anwar al-Aulaqi.

Mike O’Malley @#8 – Mike from the appeasement crowd?? Are you kidding?

But, take consolation in the ‘instant karma’ that occurred to the Major – he is paralyzed from the waist down….And he faces the death penalty…

“Agents never attempted to interview Hasan, in part because agents in the FBI’s Washington Field Office were politically sensitive about interviewing Muslim men who visit extremist websites, the report said.”,0,4607056.story?track=rss

We cannot waiver in calling a snake exactly what it is….Political correctness, aka silencing those who [want to] expose the truth about […?] is crippling us…. our ‘enemy’ embraces this and knows how to use it against us…we cannot keep going about our business, become complacent and letting our guard down…this becomes a weakness and invites aggression.

I found this too… Interesting

“This morning on Good Morning America, the dynamic duo of Ross and Stephanopoulos equated the Tea Party’s fight for limited government with the murders perpetrated last night in Aurora, Colorado. Despite their half-assed apologies, they have impuned the integrity of millions of Americans by demeaning the tea party on national television. (Stephanopoulos was also behind blaming talk radio for the Oklahoma City bombing under the Clinton Administration.)……”

But, wait! There’s more…

Mike O’Malley @#8 – Mike from the appeasement crowd?? Are you kidding?

Well what do you know? It seems as though my inner liberal has emerged again! Every now and then I travel to the Great Imperial City, inside the Beltway. Therein the Emerald City (1) the Little Guardian of the Gates to American Progress (the guardians wear dollar green spectacles you know), they refuse to believe that I harbor such liberal sentiment. Alas! 😉

(1) Scholars who interpret The Wizard of Oz as a political allegory see the Emerald City as a metaphor for Washington, D.C. and unsecured “greenback” paper money. In this reading of the book, the city’s illusory splendor and value is compared with the value of paper money, which also has value only because of a shared illusion or convention. It is highly likely that the Hotel del Coronado influenced its description in later books, as well as in the artwork by John R. Neill.

Mike O’Malley @#11 – I never really connected the ‘story’ of the Wizard of Oz with ‘the Beltway’ – Interesting take …. and in retrospect [then] we’ve had a ‘festering’ Government problem for eons…

Some of the stories out there look at ‘occultism’….I found this one interesting…

One has to keep in mind the period with which this ‘story’ was written also.

That essay is on target. L. Frank Baum’s take on William Jennings Bryan is quite insightful in my view.

From Twitter:

FLASHBACK: when Dr. Amy Bishop shot her colleagues, the Left speculated that she was a Tea Partier. In fact, she was an Obama donor.

FLASHBACK: Discovery Channel hostage-taker was supposedly a climate change denier. In fact, he was an enviroweenie, D.Channel intern.

FLASHBACK: the census-taker was supposedly hanged by extremist anti-tax Tea Partiers. In fact, he hanged himself.

FLASHBACK: the Times Square Bomber was speculated to be upset about [Health Care Reform]. In fact, he was jihadi scum.

FLASHBACK: the guy who flew his plane into the IRS in TX was supposedly a Tea Partier. In fact, he quoted from the Communist Manifesto.

FLASHBACK: the guy who was stabbing NYC cabbies was supposedly an anti-Ground Zero Mosque Tea Partier. In fact, he supported the GZM.

FLASHBACK: the Pentagon shooter was supposedly a Tea Party extremist. In fact, he was a 9/11 Truther.

FLASHBACK: when the Ft. Hood shooting happened, the Left speculated that it was a “RWNJ.” (Right Wing Nut Job) In fact, it was a Muslim nutjob.

FLASHBACK: When the Tucson shooting occurred, it was immediately blamed on Tea Party rhetoric. In fact, Loughner was a-political & insane.

So, the TEA Party is all the media sees.
They fly off with the lie while the truth puts its pants on.
