When a story regarding the Trayvon Martin death appears, it is almost universally accompanied by this image:
It is of a Trayvon Martin years younger than he really was. And it’s not accurate. Dan Linehan has done some sleuthing and found a much different picture of Trayvon Martin than the one being forced down our throats. The real Trayvon Martin is being scrubbed as you read this.

It seems that Tray was also on Twitter, but his account seems to have been recently deleted by his family or friends.
His screen name was “@NO_LIMIT_NIGGA, as you can see from the twitpic account screenshot above. He was also a member of a twitter hash group #team4dat.
At first, I was skeptical that anyone would maintain an account with that sort of derogatory slur in the title, but after doing some research, it’s apparent that it was Trayvon’s account.
The account was in existence long before the shooting occurred a few weeks ago, and was deleted only recently, there are still dozens of references to @NO_LIMIT_NIGGA in google’s cache.
The associated twitpic account matches the account name and is still online at the time of publication. Most of the pics were uploaded months ago, so this account was associated with Trayvon long before the shooting took place.
Several of Tray’s friends have been very open about referring to Trayvon using that account as well. His cousin, who is quite active on Twitter, refers to Trayvon more than a dozen times using the @NO_LIMIT_NIGGA nickname.
Apparently the account has been terminated but Google has lots of cached references.
Trayvon referred to himself as “Slimm” in his Twitter account and his Facebook account.
He had friends in gangs, if he was not in one himself, and there is a question as to whether Martin was active in the drug trade.
On Facebook on February 5th, his friend posts on his wall asking to talk business. Trayvon says he doesn’t have a phone available and his friend says, “Damn were u at a nigga needa plant.”
George Zimmerman, on the other hand, doesn’t warrant the same treatment. The picture the media offers all the time is this one:
We don’t get to see George as a 13 year old. We don’t even get to see George nicely dressed.
George Zimmerman refers to himself as “Hispanic”, but the media has created a new ethnicity for George Zimmerman- the “white Hispanic.”
As Linehan notes, there has been extensive investigation by the media into Zimmerman but there has been little to none into Trayvon Martin.
Exit questions- Why is the media so afraid to accurately portray Trayvon Martin as he really was? Is it because people would stop wondering why George Zimmerman took an interest in him? Why did the media need to create the “white Hispanic” label for George Zimmerman?
Finally-if George Zimmerman is a “white Hispanic”, is Barack Obama a “white black”?

Pictures do not matter … are you trying to say that we should go off what a teen-aged boy looks like and what Zimmerman looks like to judge this case? No. no matter what they look like or what he either of them had done in the past what Zimmerman did in that moment by following an innocent young man through the neighborhood, scaring the crap out of him by doing so, and then getting out of the car to find him was wrong. period. Would you try to defend or protect yourself if someone was following you? If you started to run away and a man got out of a car to follow you, what would you have done? If anyone should be claiming self defense here it should be Trayvon, but no unfortunately he no longer has the opportunity to speak for himself so through the evidence and people of America who believe in justice he will be spoken for.

@mike: No he was a wannabe because he applied numerous times to work on the police force but was denied because of his background and because his family comes from a line of people who worked in law enforcement or the justice system and they scrutinize those people more than someone who comes from a family who is not (this comes straight from the police department he applied to) . Oh and the words from his mouth when he got arrested for not being compliant with a police officer when he was younger, his friend was getting arrested and he started to become disorderly … he said “the police officer did not properly identify himself, he wants to become a police officer, he has the utmost respect for them”. The guy has mental issues and should be evaluated immediately.

You are right. The pictures shouldn’t matter. Not one bit. But due to the race hustlers, they do matter. Now, when some people are attempting to balance the story, by bringing to light the trouble Martin was into, and recent statements by him, those who judged Zimmerman immediately do not want to hear about it. Now, all of a sudden, the past of the involved persons doesn’t matter. Now, after the false narrative the race hustlers promoted is already part of the mainstream think, now everyone who promoted that think wants to back off on finding out Martin’s past. They want to disallow use of current pictures and social media content authored by him.
Of course you don’t want the pictures to matter now. You want to go off of your first snap judgment on the case. Funny enough, that is exactly what the race hustlers are accusing Zimmerman of doing.

It in my eyes does not matter what pictures I personally would have seen, what happened was wrong no matter who it was and no matter what the media said about it. He was beautiful, and it is unfortunate people judge him based on looks. I would find it amusing, if the story wasn’t so tragic, on both sides, that one group engages in making snap judgments about Zimmerman, before all the facts have come out, yet, they refuse to acknowledge, and even wish to disallow, any information about Martin that people could, and would, use to make judgments about him.
In this day and age, it’s not about the truth of the matter. It’s not about the facts relating to the story, or issue. No, in this day and age, it’s about who can gain the narrative over the story first and prevent any negative facts from entering the discussion. In this particular story, Sharpton, Jackson, the NBPP, and even Obama, through the media, has gained that narrative and fanned the flames of racial discontent even further. I agree with the one statement from the NBP “he should be arrested”, you can not pursue someone and claim self defense. If he would have originally listened to the emergency response operator Trayvon would still be here.
I got my information from the police, media, interviews from the witness, the many recorded 911 calls, interviews with Zimmerman’s friends and attorney. Attorneys who are not on the case just their professional opinion and trying to learn information about the laws at hand.

@DrJohn: He stopped the first time they asked and gave his location to meet the officer. What was he doing out of the car if he did what he was told? He said Trayvon was running and said they always get away and then when he was asked where will the officer meet you, he responded with just tell him to call me when he gets here and I will tell you where I am at (which I picked up from that statement that he was moving and did not know where he would be when the officer arrived). Zimmerman and Trayvon’s body was found in the backyard of the only true witnesses home who she also claims this was not self defense. I personally think he is guilty, I want a trial. Do I want him killed? Do I want them to just take him in and just say guilty right off the bat? No. I want a fair trial so that we can get his side of the story and I want Trayvon’s story to be heard as well. Since I have said twenty times I think he is guilty I want him prosecuted.

@drjohn: You do not know if he had it drawn or not, and you do not know if Trayvon charged him. The statements we are making are factual evidence from what was said or heard on the 911 calls. You are simply making assumptions in that respect.

This is patently false. There are TWO eyewitnesses that put Martin on top of Zimmerman. Cutcher keep changing her story. Martin’s father said the cries for help were NOT from his son.

The question should be; If the roles were reversed, and a latino/white teenager was in the role of Martin, and a black man in the role of Zimmerman, would the story have made the national news? Would the outpouring of grief and support for the teenager have been present in the magnitude it is now? Would Obama have mentioned the teenager shared empathy with the family of the teenager? Would the NBPP have posted a bounty for the one who shot the teenager?
If the answer is no, and the guess is that it would be, then the case, as it is now, including the racial discontent, is not exactly as it seems.
If one wants Martin to have the benefit of the doubt in the case, then they MUST be willing to extend that same benefit of doubt to Zimmerman. And it’s the same for the other side. Those who want Zimmerman to be extended the benefit of the doubt, must also be willing to extend it to Martin.
