That’s pretty cool Old Trooper!

Meanwhile Our Forces are Training in the Obama Mode…

Combat troops to get gay sensitivity training New policy OK’d for battlefield

President Obama signed a bill in December to repeal the ban, called “don’t ask, don’t tell,” which required gay troops to hide their sexuality. However, the ban will stay in effect until the secretary of defense certifies that repeal of the policy will not hurt combat readiness.

Elaine Donnelly, who heads the Center for Military Readiness, said it is “ridiculous” to train combat Army soldiers and Marines as they are engage in daily combat with tenacious insurgents.

“It’s absurd because the military has more important things to think about in that dangerous part of the world,” she said. “For the administration to say this is more important than even with the troops we’re trying to train in that part of the world, I think it shows flawed priorities at best. It is ridiculous

Priorities…Hmm

Hey, the TOTUS has bigger partys…uhh..I mean prioritys than the wars going on.

Should military experience be mandatory for a POTUS? seems strange to me that its not.

@anticsrocks:

I, like OT2 and several others went with a 45 ACP. My choice was the Taurus 24/7 because of it’s stopping power and less blow through (less fps) than the 9mm, or .40 cal and it fit my hand better than a 1911.

Then for my everyday walking around pocket piece, I chose the Taurus TCP .380 over the Ruger LCP .380 True Texan Coyote Special. The choice came down to trigger pull, both the Taurus and Ruger being double action, the Ruger had a very long dead spot in the pull. The Taurus was solid and never let you know when the hammer was about to fall when squeezing off a shot during practice. I also outfitted it with a Crimson Trace laser.

I agree, find an indoor range with sales and qualified folks the can assist you in your selection. It’s well worth the investment and time.

@Old Trooper2:

Back before the dropping of DADT it was the combat troops who were the most opposed to changing the rule.
It wasn’t that they minded having a gay alongside them in combat; it was KNOWING it overtly.

During the debate one of Obama’s generals (or retired generals) claimed that any soldier who didn’t like it would be allowed to leave the service.

Then, that turned out to be a line of BS.
Not true at all.

So, thus the need to sensitivity train these men.
I wonder what the punishment can be for not ”getting it?”
Taking them OUT of combat?

Klinger?
LOL

A glimpse into Gaddafi’s palace

US neo-cons urge Libya intervention

http://english.aljazeera.net/indepth/features/2011/02/2011227153626965756.html

In a distinct echo of the tactics they pursued to encourage US intervention in the Balkans and Iraq, a familiar clutch of neo-conservatives appealed Friday for the United States and NATO to “immediately” prepare military action to help bring down the regime of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi and end the violence that is believed to have killed well over a thousand people in the past week.

Cleverly written! However they failed to mention that Clinton Deployed Me and Others to the Balkans and Somalia as well. Half truths sell better than Facts in their audience.

Al Jazeera. Typical stuff and *Open Source* from their English language website. If you ever wonder where some Folks get their talking points, now You know.

Well as long as the Navy anthem doesn’t become “in the Navy” and the fruitcakes don’t shove socialist agenda up everyone’s butt, there shouldn’t be a problem, right?.. Jesus, a guy makes a non offensive statement on that thread and they act like you want to have a homo-holocaust. The pink sheep should “flock off”, but that’s just my opinion.

If al-jezira is so smart then they should answer this: how are we going to get our people out of labiya?

@ Zac, Al Jazeera does not care about that. They stir the pot from Their Editorial Bias. Their Press Credentials are recognized in Bahrain, HQ of Our 5th Fleet and at CENTCOM AOR HQ in Qatar. They sit in on Press Briefings regularly.

Diversity and Regional Politics.

A non-political post…

A YouTube video about the Lewis and Clark Expedition’s .46 calibre Girandoni air rifle.

This beautifully crafted air-powered rifle was designed to be used as a military weapon, and actually was.

Muammar Gaddafi – Zenga Zenga Song – Noy Alooshe Remix + Download

This was created by some Folks in Israel. It is viral in some places in Europe right now. Damn shame that He won’t be able to perform at the White House for da POTUS.

Momar Kadafi Supports Obama

Edited to add: : Looks like edit is up and running!

@CbR:Oh, I just noticed your post. Thanks! I appreciate the support, I am god willing going to make a difference; both here and abroad. hope your journey went well. Speaking of caliber, you have a fine taste in weaponry.

@Old Trooper2:

Kinda like:

@ Mamba 1-0, Yup.

@ Zac, Peacekeeping Duty in the Balkans. These are Canadian Troops by the way…

Kosovo Music Video

Ha Ha! That’s a good one Old Trooper.

*Sorry to ruin the laughs.

I was just about to post this no where near as funny but just as provocative. This guy was gonna blow up George Bushes house. They are recruiting the terrorists young these days.

Real Clear Politics has a very good article on what the WI issue and Democrat concerns are all about: http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2011/02/27/public_unions__the_socialist_utopia_109046.html

@ Zac…Psst…Princess Pat’s Light Infantry did that. I have Served around those guys about 5 times.
Canada’s Tax Dollars at work! Great Soldiers though.

Oh yea, I was just at the princes pat museum the other day. What do you think overall of the canadian military and their policys?

@ Excellent. They are presently in Kandahar and Defend that Airfield. No Better Allies!

@ Randy, That is pretty much on target. Unsuatainable…key word.

Unsustainable.

Yes, the government and some of our policy, I don’t agree with. I pay much of my money in taxes when I’m here. The people in the country remind me of americans, the people in the city…. I don’t know how they manage. That’s a big generalization. A lot of people like corrupt politicians that turn the place into a slum, its sad but most canadians don’t have a lot of fight; they don’t teach Canadian WW2 history in schools I guess.

Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Company, now known as 3M, came out with some scathing commentary on Obama today.

George Buckley is CEO and Chairman of 3M.

He said, essentially:
Obama’s instincts are Robin Hood-esque.
It is about taxation, regulation, anti-business policies in Washington DC and attitudes toward science.
Politicians forget that business has choice.
We are not indentured servants.
We can do business where it is good and friendly.
We (3M) are now exporting science overseas.
68% of our scientists are from outside the USA.
The USA won’t give us enough Visas.
We are building our newest labs in Germany, India and China.

Much more here.

Yikes!
3M has over 79,000 employees, but fewer of them will be in the USA, all because of Obama.

@ Nan G, That is a given. Business cannot survive in a hostile business climate. But Congress, Agencies, Czars and Obama’s Domestic Policies made it hostile. It didn’t happen all by itself.

Old Trooper, #124. GREAT!!!!

I certainly hope 3M didn’t give the TOTUS any campaign money.

Nan and OT2: Obana is not just about spreading the money around in the US, he believes in spreading it around the World. That is what the climate change initiative is all about. They even admitted it during the last meeting in Central America.
The Kyoto protocol would send our industry to foreign countries where there were no carbon limits. The cap and trade proposal would send tax dollars from primarially red states to the blue states. A good portion of the stimulus/bail out funds went to foreign banks. What 3M is describing is sending jobs/money to other countries while the dupes who voted for Obama blame others!

@ Randy, Yup in no uncertain terms but when I get Home He had better not send any fools out to monitor cattle flatulence. If that happens I may move my herd to Canada.

OT2, the Feds have not bothered too many folks in your neck of the woods since Ruby Ridge!

Well your cattle can’t stay at my place.

I’m moving to the US again soon as my citizenship clears maybe sooner.

Well, Wisconsin just taught us where the lines are drawn.
Will we be, can we ever again be a nation of LAWS rather than men?
The Union squatters in the capital building had a deadline to be out today so cleaning (fumigation?) could be done.
Supposedly the Union police were to enforce that lawful order.
But guess what?
Union did NOT go against Union, even if it meant the rule of law went out the window.

In a way it is good to know.
The lines are drawn.
It really is ”us against them.”
Better to know now than to find out when you think you might really need them.

@ Randy, Roger that. But Eric Holder worked for Janet Reno so We are Vigilant!

@ Zac, How many acres of pasture do you have not in use? I Wintered over about 2,890 Head of Cattle.
The Fall and Spring round ups put around 2, 600 or so to the Market last year. My spread is not a 4H Club Operation. We raise Hereford Cattle from calves to Market weight. 24/7 Operation.

Wow… That’s a bigger operation than I expected. There are a lot of cattle operations here, and less EPA regulations, but I don’t know if it will turn out better for you in Canada than Montana.

To be honest, I will be lucky if I clear 60k after taxes I don’t have the cash to make any massive real estate investments. Although I would if I could find a way.

@Zac: I have a good sized Operation and I reckon that if the EPA can’t spot cattle flatulence by infra red on satellite , I’m safe. Buy a piece of ground. That’s the one thing that no one can make more of.

That’s a good point, until I can buy a piece of land on the moon there is only one planet. And if NASA continues the way it has been that might be a while.

Hey I was wondering who takes care of terrorists on american soil? The military?

What if there was a nuclear attack? Who would clean up after a nuclear attack?

Who would do the domestic investigation?

OT, Two well placed 7.62 rounds. I like the sound of that. One each for the two people in Libya who are the most deserving.

When “Colonel’ Daffy Duck took over Egypt, he had photo spreads in Life and several other fluff rags. He made a big deal about staying in tents. The Liberal women all had their panties in a bind comparing him to Valentino’s portrayal of The Sheik. I kid you not. He didn’t age well, but boy back then the women in New York and the Lib centers thought he was so sexy. I wonder if they will admit those feelings now? I wonder how many had relatives and friends killed by terrorists he has financed?

@ Skookum, Ronald Reagan settled his hash with one Air Strike. We kept buying His Oil and his secret deals were not an issue with Clinton but He was no Comic Book character. He was a Thug with well placed “Friends” and money talks. His Oil cash bought a lot of Murder & Mayhem but He addressed the UN like they were School Children and sold the Oil. Even the Russians hated Him. But….We bought the Oil and never developed Our Energy assets…We Allowed it. You remember how swell UN Sanctions worked on Saddam…some UN dudes secured a grand retirement on Oil for Food. Libya held Chairmanship of the UN Human Rights Council too!

Yep. Two well placed shots. Always double tap. Ammo is cheap by comparison to letting the UN fumble around for months at US Taxpayer Expense.

@ Zac, The surviving Russians and Chinese. NASA Moon Shots are no longer in Our Budget.
Our Intel Satellites are tracking Global Warming, Big Foot and Cattle Flatulence.

If there is a Nuke exchange Ferget about it. All deals are off.

Now that you put it like that, that’s a pretty scary thought…. Hmm..

OT, that is an excellent point and the way that we should look at this situation. A view that should be in history at high school and above, but I am sure Ayers and his sycophants will have a Socialist rewrite that will be taught.

Here is a wild eyed idea, ever consider writing a history book of the last four decades from the view of a Special Forces Officer? You might need to ride your horse on the lecture circuit! LOL But it is something to think about: there are “millions” of former service men who would appreciate your insight!

A man has to plan activities for retirement, you know how you look for things to do after marketing 2600 head of beef.

@Old Trooper2:
You are going to have a mess to clean up anyway if you hit someone with the shotgun. I think that I would trade the cleanup for disincentive of someone proceeding further into my home. But then I haven’t found one that I care for and that would be good for the wife. I do, as you suggest, keep a .45 handy and my current primary home defense choice.

I have an old Remington 1100 20ga that my dad bought me to hunt dove when I was 12, I am thinking about having it professionally cut down to 18″ and put a tactical stock and grip on it for the Mrs. as it would still screw someones day up with some heave duck load or 00. Thinking of an 870 or 1187 12ga for myself 🙂

@ Skookum, There may be a book in the future but no Old Trooper Wild West Show. Those Canadian Bulls will be doing their part to keep me in the business. There will not be anything remotely resembling Elected Office as I’m careful about my peer group. I never made a promise that I couldn’t keep. Besides in this day and Age, telling the Truth will get You more Enemies than Lying. Count on it!

in Katy, The use of a shotgun inside the house calls for not only cleanup but replacement of walls, furnishings, potentially some plumbing or wiring. Carpeting for sure. Unless you have 12 ga bean bag rounds. Well placed .45 JHP rounds are not the only solution but with anything smaller, multiple rounds may be necessary.

That may be tough to explain in Court. “And can You tell US why You shot that Jasper 15 Times?’

Jacking a round into a pump shotgun causes many would be robbers to soil their pants. As far as the 9 mm and 15 rounds, “sir, I was so scared that I couldn’t stop pulling the trigger!”

@Old Trooper2:

Well your Honor, he was moving around quite a bit and I was not sure that I had tagged him and he didn’t retreat, so I just kept shooting…

@ Randy , I almost broke into tears the day that They replaced the .45 1911 Government model with the 9mm Beretta Mod 92. The “Euro Pellet” Pistol gave me pause for thought. “Maybe they don’t want Me to do much more than Hurt Somebodies Feelings?”

It was all with going to a NATO Friendly side arm and politically correct though. 15 Round Magazines gives poor Marksmen/Women second, third and fourth chances and time to stay in the Fight long enough for help to arrive with Long Guns.
