Joe the Plumber vs. Kathy the Drag Queen Band Singer [Reader Post]

Loading

On October 12 of 2008 Barack Obama campaigned in “Joe the Plumber” Wurzelbacher’s neighborhood. Wurzelbacher asked Obama why he’d want to raise taxes at the time. Wurzelbacher subsequently became something of a Presidential campaign issue. In what seemed mere seconds the liberal press descended upon him like so many locusts. Within days we knew more about Joe the Plumber than we know about Barack Obama to this day.

Within three days later FactCheck.org had Joe fact checked.

Four days later PMSNBC proclaimed that Joe had no plumbing license.

That same day CNN was defending Obama’s tax proposals.

Joe took it in the chin from the media. They combed through his personal files. They protected Obama.

As Curt posted above, Palin approached a woman holding a sign which read “Worst Governor Ever” to ask her about the sign. The media reported it thusly:

Ben Adler:

Sarah Palin Gets Snarky on a Schoolteacher

Well, Palin’s dark side came out in full effect this weekend, and this time the victim was not President Obama but a schoolteacher in small-town Alaska. Palin was there to film a segment of a nature program on TLC, and she confronted Kathleen Gustafson who was holding up a sign reading “WORST GOVERNOR EVER.” Palin clearly intended to disarm Gustafson with her charm, but instead got defensive.

Andy Barr:

Sarah Palin gets in dustup with teacher

Sarah Palin was involved in a brief argument over the weekend with an Alaska teacher over her decision to leave her post as governor of Alaska halfway through her term.

David Jackson:

There’s something about Sarah: Palin argues with teacher

The latest Sarah Palin video making the rounds shows her arguing with an Alaskan critic who displays a banner reading, “Worst Governor Ever.”

Jackson says there’s something about Sarah. Well, Davie, there’s also something about Kathleen Gustafson, who identified herself as a teacher.

She’s no teacher.

She’s just a singer in a rock and roll band. A drag queen band.

Jackson, Adler, Barr and the rest of the Obama lapdog media pounced on Palin as though pouncing on Palin was the Democrat National Sport.

Well, it is.

Thre was no “dust-up” when Joey met Barry. They never wrote that there was something about Barry. Obama didn’t get “snarky” with Joe.

Because Adler, Jackson and Barr suck are pathetic left wing tools, just like the rest of their colleagues.

They failed to do their jobs. They were so gleeful to mine this incident for the precious antiPalinite mineral that they let go of the little credibility they have remaining. They hounded the guy who was honest with Obama and now they have no intellectual curiosity about the drag queen band singer. She was a fraud but that didn’t matter. What really mattered was Sarah Palin allegedly rolling eyes at the charlatan.

Something about this stunk from the get go. The stink came right from the liberal press. It’s the rank odor of bias.

Nice one Doc, it would really be funny except for the fact that the bias of these Socialist Propaganda hacks ensnares people with their lies and dirty tricks. Who knows how much of their BS we have unknowingly believed over the years. This is fraud for the government and endorsed by the government.

Conservative blogs have done some investigating. This woman isn’t a teacher. She’s a “theater technician.” I think that in the language you and I speak, that translates to “makeup artist.” As you’ve mentioned, she’s also a backup singer for a drag queen band. If the world was fair, this information would be broadcast on MSNBC and local government flunkies would be providing reporters access to the Gustafson’s personal information. And this woman would never get a dime from any taxpayer funded entity, starting with the school district.

Gustafson, as it turns out, is connected to Shannyn Moore, the Alaska blogger who filed about half of the frivolous ethics complaints against Palin when she was governor. This cost Alaskan taxpayers (and the Palin family) hundreds of thousands of dollars. It cost Shannyn Moore a few envelopes and postage stamps.

Jim, thank you for your contribution. I think the image of news person is about to change now that the MSM has become so obvious in their malfeasance. You better be laced on, I think we are about to have a wild ride, Let’er buck, Powder River, too thin to plow, too thick to swim.

Interesting. I guess I am not surprised.

In another day and age, this would be a travesty- a dereliction by the press. Today it is SOP from the SOB’s.

It looks like you righties got your facts messed up AGAIN!!! It’s to bad I have to keep correcting your non-sense… You didn’t look very hard before you wrote this did you DRJOHN???

From the Huff….

At First Things, Jim Hoft quickly transformed the facts of “According to the Alaska Teacher Certification website there is a Kathleen Gustafson registered, but unknown if this is her” to THAT WAS NO TEACHER… Unhinged Leftist Who Confronted Palin Is a Singer in a Drag Queen Band.

When some commentators pointed out that Gustafson was a theatre teacher and that the pictures of her ‘drag queen band’ were in fact photos of her directing a student production of Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Hoft appended a correction of sorts:

UPDATE: The Palin-haters now claim that “theater tech” is the name of some class they teach in Alaska.
Sure it is… Keep spinning libs.

No matter what these people claim, you can tell from the video that Sarah displayed class and charm, and a lack of hostility. She looked to be effortlessly in control of the situation throughout. It could not be called a confrontation or argument by any stretch of the imagination. The protestor was clearly unprepared to be approached in this manner, and as a result ended up completely disarmed.

If Ms. Palin had walked past without stopping, they would be jeering at her for that. Always keep in mind the Rule of Anyway: do what you think is best, because people like these are going to accuse you of the same exact things anyway, no matter what you do.

By the way, my understanding is that “Hedwig and the Angry Inch” is a comedy about a drag queen who botched the removal of his own genitalia. Was this a high school production? If so, seems less than appropriate.

@CRAP

When calling out “righties” for correction, you may want to refrain from using “The Huff” as your source material.

As for the actual incident, Sarah Palin showed class, as I believe the woman she spoke to did as well. I don’t care what the woman claimed to be. It doesn’t matter. The one issue I have is calling Palin the worst governor ever for simply resigning her post, regardless of the reasons behind it.

Why leave out “The HUFF”???
Do you have problems with the truth smacking you right in the FACE? They happen to have told the whole story. Is that something you can’t deal with?

As for the actual incident, frankly it was a non story. As for Palin resigning her post she had the right to do so. The lady that put up the sign has a right to her opinion of it too. So be it.

@RAP

I couldn’t help but notice that you made assertions based on the tripe from HuffPo but, like the left wing media, didn’t bother to do any of your own research.

Gustafson is indeed a member of that troupe:

The remainder of the troupe – the band – was generally out of the spotlight, with the exception of director Kathleen Gustafson. Gustafson doubled as Hedwig’s husband, singing harmony in drab blue coveralls that sharply contrasted with Hedwig’s revealing dresses and gaudy blonde and pink wigs.

http://homertribune.com/2009/08/in-a-cave-%E2%80%A6-in-the-rain/

Since you and HuffPo made the assertion that Gustafson IS a teacher, I think you ought to prove it. Here’s a start for you:

She is listed as a “theater tech” here .

Theater tech: as in “not a teacher”

Prove otherwise.

Thanks to Macs Mind

The puffho and truth don’t belong in the same post. The fact you try to use them as a source speaks volume about your mental illness.

We leave out the huff because they are as full of shite as you are crap.

Gustaf is hitched to the hip of the stoopid bitch that tried to sue Palin 19 times. This was a setup by her, and the sue-happy-Dem-insider to see if they could perform the standard (and totally predictable) “gotcha” moment.

Desperation is a smelly thing.

This just gets better and better:

Gustafson doubled as Hedwig’s husband, singing harmony in drab blue coveralls that sharply contrasted with Hedwig’s revealing dresses and gaudy blonde and pink wigs.

http://homertribune.com/2009/08/in-a-cave-%E2%80%A6-in-the-rain/

Now check it out:

Ah hah! The sweaty little Palin-bots “discovered” that she worked for Planned Parenthood and was technically called a Theater Tech, not a teacher,

http://theimmoralminority.blogspot.com/2010/08/when-palin-bots-attack-protecting-those.html

and Gryphen links to:

Shannyn Moore

Case closed.

I think you’ll find that Moore filed half of the “ethics” complaints that were filed against Palin. Anyone in Alaska can file an ethics complaint and state law stipulates that said complaints must be answered in a timely manner.

So pretty much any liberal moron can shut down the state government of Alaska.

@RAP

Once more with feeling:

SHE’S NOT A TEACHER

Apologies accepted. Operators are standing by.

Even if the activist wasn’t a teacher, that does not give Palin’s sycophants the right to tear down her sign, even after claiming that Palin is fighting for free speech, freedom etc.

I think Palin is a celebrity and cares only about making money, not about the struggles the workers and the unemployed are going through. Plus her eye rolling at the woman when she said she was a teacher (whether she is or not) was very telling about Palin’s stance towards teachers.

And her twitter/FB posts are very telling about her stance towards English. 😆

@thegayrepublicanmuslimjew

And her twitter/FB posts are very telling about her stance towards English

As opposed to a President who visited 57 states, who promised our health insurance rates would drop by 3000%, who suggested treating asthma with a breathalyzer, or expressed a desire to “put an end to privacy”?

LOL.

😯

I admit Obama is pretty much weightless away from a teleprompter. 😆

I’ll still vote for him if she’s the nominee though. Not so much if it’s my man Mitt.

Shannon got an interview with Gustaf, and had it published in the Puffington Post less than 3 hours after the video came out. -The same Post our resident twit referred to. Afterwards, in a twitter post, she called Sarah a whore.

http://www.conservatives4palin.com/2010/08/shannyn-moores-alaska-where-sarah-palin.html#comments

Gustaf is now in hiding and refuses to talk to ANY media, Even though she works at the same radio sation that Shannon PAYS to spew her filth on.

http://macsmind.com/wordpress/2010/08/09/kathleen-gustafson-radio-stunt/

There is no evidence whatsoever that the sign was torn down by Palin supporters.

They both ended the “VIOLENT CONFRONTATION!!11!!” in a very pleasant manner, and Gusof admitted on the tape that they had more in common than disagreed.

But NONE OF YOU FREAKIN SYCOPHATIC MORONS HAVE COMMENTED ON THIS:

Gee. That took me all of 10 freakin minutes to check. Good job sucking memes, you brainless liberal idiots.

@Patvann:

But NONE OF YOU FREAKIN SYCOPHATIC MORONS HAVE COMMENTED ON THIS

How about another one? Those dems are radically dangerous:

http://gatewaypundit.firstthings.com/2010/08/lib-meltdown-mogop-videographer-attacked-by-leftist-kc-mayor-pro-tem-at-carnahan-event-video/

Patvann Please tell me you’re not a Palin supporter.

She’s twice as qualified as the back-bencher community blackmailer, but no, I don’t see her as president.

http://www.redstate.com/jeff_emanuel/2008/08/30/tale-of-the-tape-sarah-palin-vs-barack-obam/

Mostly I am a defender of the innocent, seeker of truth, and a bully-basher who hates to see good people being attacked by lying hypocritical “nothings”.

If your point is the Dems/Liberals/Socialists are graduating from bashing Bush to bashing Palin this should come as no surprise. She poses a threat to those currently attempting to hoodwink the nation. The attitude of “I don’t like Palin” is akin to “I don’t like lima beans”. The anti-Palin sentiment is based on emotion not facts. That aside – I suggest re-reading Animal Farm and checking out the marked similarity between the current Obama regime and that of Napoleon!

OOPS “Four legs good, two legs bad!”

Was “Four legs good; Two legs bad” Eventually became “Four legs good. Two legs better”.

But I’m so glad we’re out of Iraq, Gitmo is closed, the Patriot’s Act wasn’t resigned and unemployment is below 5 %!

At least Obama didn’t have a war surge in a foreign country and appoint General Petraeus to oversee the situation.

Patvann #22 You sound like a combination of Superman and the Lone Ranger.God love you.
How CLUTCH is Pat Burrell

A HR and 3 RBI’s!

He earned his pay last night, that’s for sure. Not bad for an “old man” (in baseball years)

@Thegaywhatever….. you’d vote for the ABSOLUTE WORST PRESIDENT we’ve ever had, KNOWING this now, over Palin??? You sir, ARE nuts! Sorry, I’d rather take a “chance” on her, than vote INTENTIONALLY for another royal screwing by the most UN-American person to ever be allowed to enter the White House. We’re already down, and you would vote him back in, to let him come back, FOR THE KILL???? 😯

Patvann 2 knocks 5 ribies.Forget politics Go Giants

😯

In short, yes I would vote for Obama over Palin in a heartbeat. For all his faults, at least he reads newspapers. 😀

You call “Pravda” a newspaper???? 🙄

thegayrepublicanmuslimjew

Did that take all of your brain, or just the part your dog lets you play with?

I know Palin has read the constitution. Its quite apparent that Obama has not! In addition he, and the rest of the socialists currently in power, should read some history.
Those that do not study history shall be forced to repeat it.
Socialism has never worked and its not working here and now!

😯

Given that, it says a lot that I would rather pull the lever for a commie socialist (really a crony capitalist Wall Street stooge) over Sarah Palin… 😆

And I don’t like lima beans. No reason just my individual opinion. Just as your voting is based on opinion not on anything factual. Attempting to change a persons opinion is a futile endeavor. BTW – “Sharing The Wealth” as the Obama regime proposes is Marxism – check it out!

😯

I bet a lot of squishy moderates like me will also vote Obozo if Palin is the nominee.

I am crossing my fingers for Romney, and I can only sense that serious minds in the GOP are, too.

“Given that, it says a lot that I would rather pull the lever for a commie socialist (really a crony capitalist Wall Street stooge) over Sarah Palin”… 😆

No sir, only says a lot about YOU!! as does your name… confused, and not believable…. a “muslim/ jew”??? What kind of drugs ARE we on today??? LOL!

Jesus Christ my screenname is a joke. 🙄

And so is Sarah Palin! (Sorry, I had to…) :mrgreen:

@thefunnymuslimjew

Most people probably understand the joke in your screenname.

As for Ms. Palin, why the animosity? She truly is a breath of fresh air at a time when the country, and in particular, the two major parties, are all about king-making. I never had a problem with GW(voted for him twice), but some of what he did, and you listed, rubbed me the wrong way. A true conservative should not have been in the business of expanding any portion of the federal government. The liberals railed against him, but what they found to be wrong, I thought was the right things to do.

Then came Obama, with his plans for reshaping America into another failed version of the USSR, or any other attempt at communist society. The liberals/progressives all made him out to be a hero of the people, when all he really is one of the ‘elites’ who wish to destroy everything that makes America great.

Palin, on the other hand, is not an Ivy league educated pol who dreamed from day one of becoming President. She is as down to earth as Obama is ‘elite’. I have listened to her speak and what she says makes mountains more sense than anything the left talks about.

Romney is one that is a mystery to people. He hails from a far-left state, oversaw the precursor to Obamacare on a state level, and just seems to try to be ‘perfect’. The very fact that the national GOP seems to be in his corner is what bothers me. I don’t want another ‘king’ who just tries to get along with everyone. I want someone who will take America away from the pols and give it back to the states. I want someone who understands how to foster a pro-business atmosphere and allow private enterprise to expand, not under threat of a federal overseer, but with the promise of success due to their own hard work and intellect. Romney just doesn’t have that feel to me.

“”Jesus Christ my screenname is a joke.””

That’s ok!!! So are your political views! LOL! 😆 😆 😆

@ Johngalt..
the GOP is out of touch, and out of control!!! We just had our state primary here.. the GOP CHOSE our candidate for us… Roy Blunt. There was a field of 5 or six running, one, Chuck Purgason, had a real good chance… But Roy is a long time Party suck-up.. Chuck is a Constitutional do-it-righter….. and the party IGNORED everyone but Blunt… Blunt ducked out Debating Purgason etc… and guess who we got. The GOP’s Party boy…. They had better wake up, or there WILL be a new major Party, and it will be the GOP that will shrink and fold……

Missouri held a primary election; there were 5 or 6 candidates; the electorate voted in one of these candidates; yet you state that the GOP party chose the person in question ??????

Something’s missing.

Yes, it’s called SUPPORT! The PARTY chose Blunt, BEFORE the primary, to “be their boy”… The rest, got NO support, NO airtime, no place on the major Debates, or GOP stage .. they got swept under the rug so to speak. So the rest, WITHOUT any party money, had to fight against a guy given ALL the party funding….. Purguson, turned in a respectable 17% considering, he was all true grass root support funded… next person pulled 11% I think… the rest spread out…. the GOP did all it could, to STIFLE any opposition to Blunt.. when polling showed Purguson COULD beat his Democrat challenger…. Many in Missouri are NOT happy about the way we got crapped on in this Primary…. I’d almost vote Democrat, out of SPITE, except the er, uh, “Woman’ THEY are running is as politically STUPID as our current POTUS.. so we’re kind of STUCK!! Irritating as Hell….

I understand why Romney is off-putting to many true-blue conservatives; he’s not a red-blooded, heartland-lovin’, flag-wavin’ American that Sarah Palin’s narrative paints here. In many ways he is like Obama, in his discomfort with the concept of American exceptionalism, nativism, homophobia etc., even as he has to clumsily embrace these themes to capture the nomination.

I like him because he’s a moderate and the most secular of all the GOP frontrunners.

@thefunnymuslimjew

You still didn’t explain why you don’t like Sarah Palin.

@Hankster

The GOP is out of touch, I agree. I think they push the candidates who they believe will have the best chance of winning, instead of the candidates who will be the best voice for the GOP in congress. IMO, the GOP should not push anyone prior to a state’s primary.

If someone is not elected they will have no voice.

Numerous people have stated they won’t vote for Palin simply as a matter of personal opinion. Has nothing to do with facts, achievents or ability. Similar to asking someone if they like sushi. Haven’t tried it but know they wont like it!

“My mind is made up. Don’t bother me with facts!”

@thegayrepublicanmuslimjew

I think our best candidates are Huckabee, Pawlenty and (hopefully) Petraeus, if he is willing to serve, since he is very close to mandatory retirement age and could leave the service at any time. I think those three men would be a formidable combination as president, VP and secretary of defense.

Palin should be making fundraising speeches and appearing at campaign rallies, then take a post-election role as chief of staff or senior White House advisor (like Emanuel or Axelrod). With a team like that, I’d love to be the press secretary. The fact that your favorite is Romney, but you’d vote for Obama if Palin is the GOP nominee, tells me that you’re the kind of “Republican” we saw from John Paul Stevens, Jim Jeffords and Lincoln Chafee. In other words, Republican in name only.

Gustafson and her sponsor, Shannyn Moore, are the big losers here. They’re sideshow freaks. They’re attention whores. They are being left behind by a successful Sarah Palin, who continues to grow stronger with every day she faces this adversity.

@Gerry

My own mother-in-law won’t vote for her simply because of her looks. Never mind that she had a very successful run as governor of AK, or that she makes more sense than most GOP members. Romney is not ‘moderate’. He just has fewer principles in which he stands up for than conservatives like Christie, West or Palin.

@JimDavisNewsmax

Yeah, you could pretty much call me a Republican in name only and you wouldn’t be too far off. However I guarantee that most Republicans, wishy-washy like me or not, will pull the lever for Romney. I’m actually probably to the left of those three “RINOs” you mentioned since I’m for gay marriage, abortion, freedom of religion, etc. I’m certainly to the left of Romney, who as far as I know opposes marriage equality, abortion rights, and the ground zero mosque, to name a few hot-button social issues.

I think the economy is the most important issue, which is why I think Romney should be the nominee.

http://voices.washingtonpost.com/thefix/morning-fix/mike-huckabee-early-iowa-front.html

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee leads the 2012 field in a survey of Iowa caucus-goers conducted for the Iowa Republican website by GOP pollster Jan van Lohuizen.

Huckabee takes 22 percent to 18 percent for former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney. In a slight surprise, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich (Ga.) received 14 percent to take third while former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin placed fourth with 11 percent. …
