“Abortion Barbie” becomes “Dildo Davis”: democrat candidates get desperate

Loading

heres your shovel

Boy is it getting ugly.

As democrat candidates lose ground, they become more desperate and vicious. Wendy Davis has already derided Greg Abbott for being in a wheelchair and now she slides right into the gutter:

Texas Democratic gubernatorial candidate Wendy Davis earlier this month was pilloried in the press for her attack ad that prominently highlighted the fact that her Republican opponent Attorney General Greg Abbott uses a wheelchair. Davis took her attacks to a new level on Monday by strongly implying Abbott would support an interracial marriage ban, despite the fact that Abbott is married to a Latina. But less than three hours later, Davis again topped herself by forwarding an attack on Abbott about an unlikely issue: dildos.

In an emailed press release, Wendy Davis For Governor passed along an article from progressive magazine The Texas Observer entitled “Greg Abbott: Dildos? Against ‘em. Interracial Marriage? No Comment.” The piece attacks Abbott for his supposed reluctance to say whether he’d defend interracial marriage and his defense of Texas’ ban on the sale of sex toys.

Meanwhile, the Kay Hagan campaign has pumped out some campaign leaflets that suggest should she lose the election Barack Obama will be lynched:

The race in North Carolina for Senate is well on its way to being the most expensive Senate race in history, expected to top $100 million by the time it’s over. The contest between incumbent Democrat Kay Hagan and Republican challenger Thom Tillis is also turning incredibly ugly.

Churchgoers in Fayetteville returned to their cars Sunday to find a political flyer on their windshield — which is to be expected 16 days before an election. But this flyer was different from the normal “Vote for candidate X” or “Oppose ballot question Y” fliers people are used to. This flyer was a picture of the lynching of a black man by a white crowd with the words “Kay Hagan Doesn’t WIN! Obama’s IMPEACHMENT Will Begin! Vote in 2014.”

Both campaigns seem to be disintegrating, but the Hagan campaign puts on the front page the contempt it has for the intelligence of black voters. Both she and Davis deserve to lose. Badly.

BTW, the mainstream media has little to no interest in any of this.

@Budvarakbar: Bud Got an idea Ya got 5 minutes to spare.
Go to Rediscovering Christopher Columbus post moderated by Word
Read 179,181 then 182 Finally 159 for overview
Did Word make sense? Did he answer 05’s questions including #90 above
Does he need to come back again to further explain? Thank you for your help!
If anybody jumps in with a snide comment pls disregard—you are the neutral moderator lol

@rich wheeler: OK — I have gone thru the posts but will have to go thru them again and get back later in an hour or so I will re-review! My initial comments are:
(1) That the original discussion had strayed from Columbus and Indigenous peoples to the Zimmerman Martin problem – events separated by over 500 years! over 180 comments — too much to follow – full of possible pitfalls for the commenters and those responding.
(2) The complexity that results from a several way email storm with a mix of edits can become impossible to follow thus the possible confusion I see between 05 and words communications — like I said – I want to look at this again prior to trying to give you a ‘best’ answer!

@Budvarakbar: 86 Yep, in that case the word ‘right’ is used correctly.

@Budvarakbar: Thanks. Remember we are concerned only about whether the original post remains intact and on the record even when subsequent changes are made.
Argument by Tom, and confirmed by Word was that his original 88, available for those who kept it(WORD) was not altered. 05 disagrees—Ditto accepted Word’s explanation.

@Richard Wheeler: 87

BTW I’ll say again. Tom is a very smart young man that has more than held his own against you far right old timers.

I’m not sure if Tom is ‘young’. I know for sure he’s not ‘smart’. Can’t be. You can’t demonstrate his level of dumb on purpose.

Redteam was confused— yes you were. blame it on me if you like

Don’t agree. My only involvement in that discussion was an attempt to get you to post the ‘original 88’ which you said you had read. I didn’t have a copy so, it seemed simple that since you admitted having seen it for you to publish it. You never did. No reason ever given. So tell me how you interpret those actions as ‘confused’.

@Redteam:

You can’t demonstrate his level of dumb on purpose.

Don’t you mean dimonstrate my level of dimb?

@Redteam: You weren’t sure what was in the original #88, it wasn’t being released by those who’d seen it, so you wrongfully assumed that it must have been changed.
BTW I like the way you confirmed Word’s statement with your final post over there. Not sure everyone caught that. Great job.
I believe Tom is in his 30’s and you know damn well he’s smart. You’re just stubborn like 05. You got the ability to loosen up on rare occasions–makes life more fun.

@Rich+Wheeler: Rich, this is my understanding of that. If I comment on a thread, every subsequent comment made on that threat results in an email to my email service as a ‘new mail’. That new mail contains the contents of the comment. This email will not ‘change’. Once I have read it, it then goes into my ‘old mail’ folder and remains there for quite some time (as in months). If I delete the message when it initially comes in or when read or at any other time, then it goes to my ‘deleted mail’ folder, but mail only stays in my ‘deleted mail’ folder for a few days. The content of the email does not change, regardless of which folder the mail is in, so if the comment is edited, there is no ‘paper trail’ other than on the thread itself. There is no notification, as in ‘new email’ if the comment is edited. If the contents in the new email, old mail, or deleted mail folder is different than the comment on the thread, then it is safe to assume the comment was edited after the original post.
When this whole discussion came up the other day, I checked all three of those folders and comment 88 was in none of them, meaning that I had deleted it at some time and the length of time that deleted mail is retained had expired, so it was no longer in my mail. Rich said he had read the original 88. Assuming he has a similar mail system to the one I use, I assumed he still had it in one of the mail boxes. He never acknowledged ‘having’ a copy, only that he had ‘read’ the original.
Since I know that’s how my system works, everything Word said made sense to me. But I have some other email systems (that I rarely use) that works differently, such as mail from some sources are ‘automatically’ filed. So I suspect that someone using other mail systems could easily form other opinions of what actually happened.

@Tom:

Don’t you mean dimonstrate my level of dimb?

Had I meant that, I would have said so.

@Rich+Wheeler:

I believe Tom is in his 30’s and you know damn well he’s smart.

I don’t know that, he’s never demonstrated good sense or any level of intelligence and I don’t know him personally, so I can only say I judge him by that lack. I also don’t personally give a damn if he’s dumb or not, he’s a liberal dimocrat so that speaks volumes.

@Redteam: You were doing great till you stated talking about other e-mail systems.lol .
Word had access to the original 88—as did I. Word said it wasn’t changed–I concur. Next case.

@Redteam:

When you comment, and you leave the “notify me when new comments are added”, you will get an email when someone responds to your comment. If that person edits their comment at a time after you received your email, and you go back to your email and click on the link, you will see the edited post, not the original post, at least that is how is has worked for me when Greggie decides to edit his posts a half hour later.

That is what I wanted Word to confirm; that even though you get an email of the original post giving the link, once it is edited, if you go back to the email. click on the link, you will link to the post as it has been edited.

@Rich+Wheeler: Excuse me Tom, uh, oh, act like him, expect to be mistaken for him.

Word had access to the original 88—as did I.

Then why didn’t you just post it and end the discussion at the beginning? I asked you more than once to post it if you had access. I certainly would have had I still had a copy. If someone I ordinarily trust states that something has been changed, then my trust still applies. I do include both you and Retire05 in the ‘can be trusted’ category. It seems that Retire was mistaken by her statement that 88 had been changed, but was not mistaken that it was actually a different comment that had been edited. Not sure why so many acted like Dimocrats and tried to ‘blame it on Bush’. Just more smoke and mirrors, emblematic of the Dimocrats. Blow smoke and cover tracks.
What did ‘other email systems’ have to do with it? I merely stated in a simple manner that had I used a different email system it might have still been stored under any of the conditions I mentioned.

@retire05:

if you go back to the email. click on the link, you will link to the post as it has been edited.

That’s true as concerns ‘the link’, but not true as to the contents of the comments in the email itself. If I post a comment, you get an email. That email will not change no matter what. If I edit the comment before you read the email, then the comment contained in your email will not be the same as what is then appearing(having been edited) on the thread. You will not receive a new email containing my edited comment. but if you ‘click on the link’ and go to the thread, then of course you will see only the edited comment.

@Redteam: C’mon 05 you said you didn’t believe 95% of what I say—put me with Tom and Greg. Was toying with you a little–the keepdigging thing. Thanks for again explaining it to 05 in #114 above.
Fact is O5 outright lied and got caught–Ditto manned up.
I’m gonna post 10 Sat picks with 3 upsets. Stand By Attention On Deck.
Note Your continued use of Dimocrats makes you sound like a 5 year old kid. Just sayin.

@Redteam:

You’re the third person (Word, Rich, you) to explain this simple concept to Retire5. Let’s see if you finally get through.

@Redteam:

You will not receive a new email containing my edited comment. but if you ‘click on the link’ and go to the thread, then of course you will see only the edited comment.

I never claimed you would get a “new” email after the post had been edited. I content that if you receive an email (I do not get the full text, only that there has been a response to my post) and it has been edited before you link to it, you get the edited post, not what was originally posted.

@Rich+Wheeler:

Note Your continued use of Dimocrats makes you sound like a 5 year old kid. Just sayin.

I think I first started using it when so many Dims exhibited that trait when they supported Obozo for president. What other option could there be than Dim? (as in ‘not bright’)
kinda like a ‘trademark’ as in you sayng ‘Semper fi” (I have no problem with persons saying Semper fi, though I don’t believe that persons supporting Dimocrats are being faithful to anything except welfare and socialism.)

I’m gonna post 10 Sat picks with 3 upsets. Stand By Attention On Deck.

On this thread?

@retire05:

I never claimed you would get a “new” email after the post had been edited. I content that if you receive an email (I do not get the full text, only that there has been a response to my post) and it has been edited before you link to it, you get the edited post, not what was originally posted.

Hmmm, then how would you know it had been edited. What did you have to compare it with to determine that it had been edited. I use AOL and when I get an email from FA, it contains the entire contents of the comment as originally posted and shows no ‘editing’. I do not get (nor do I claim that you said you do)get a follow up notification that the comment has been edited. What email service do you use with Flopping Aces?

@Rich+Wheeler: @retire05: Just got timed out or something – auto update – and lost a nice detailed reply that I was readying. Will try to reconstruct and send in!

@Budvarakbar: Bud, strange, that just happened to me and I immediately went to History and found the last page at FA and amazingly there it was.

@Rich+Wheeler: @retire05:

Rich says: @Budvarakbar: Thanks. Remember we are concerned only about whether the original post remains intact and on the record even when subsequent changes are made.

From what I have experienced myself and gathered – from posts 103-117 – is that the original comment is emailed out as initially written – to all previous commenters who ask to be notified. The commenter has 4 hours to make edits — usually a few spelling and grammer edits and getting rid of faux pas or gaff on my part within a few minutes. I can still edit my #102 comment over 3 hours later. The originally submitted comment before ANY edits only stays intact in the emails that were sent out – and possibly (I dunno) within an FA server archive — the commenter does not get an email copy of their comment. They would have to copy it off manually and save to WORD program or some clipboard.

So far have made 3 edits to this comment in about 4 minutes

#179 Wordsmith clearly answered 05’s question – almost too clearly – since it is easy to get kinda twisted up re coming and going emails, etc.

#181 05 was confused because no subsequent emails are sent out when a comment is edited — If so I would really be in trouble cause I usually make several edits within a short posting time and I am sure all the excess emails would garner complaints!. You do not know what your post looks like until submitted – so some edits are almost inevitable.

#182 Wordsmith again provides a clear answer.

Now I have made about 10 edits to this comment in about 20+ minutes

My comment #123 has been edited about 10 times and doubled in size over the last 20+ minutes. Just sending this notice out so readers can compare the #123 as it currently stands to my very first submittal that should have been emailed out to you all about 10:06 PM. As original commenter – I do not receive a copy of my comments.

@Redteam: Hey thanks for the info — if that happens again (has before) I will know (if I remember) what to do.

@Budvarakbar: Thanks for taking on this assignment. I think we are all better for your input. More civil discourse to ensue. Lets hope.

@Redteam: FYI I show USC, OK ST and PITT as slight favorites. You have 4 upsets. I’ll add Penn St. in big home upset of Ohio State -14. SEC will, as always, be very exciting from here out. See FSU as only undefeated team at season’s end.

@RICH WHEELER: USC, I’m not sure that a win at home by a higher ranked team is counted as as upset. But I will count KC over SF as an upset.

@Redteam: Good point -think USC one point favorite on past reputation–Utes Q.B. Wilson all county at my home town H.S.– San Clemente. UNC plays at a tempo even faster than Oregon–ck.em out.

@Redteam: Thanks — illustrates my points.

@RICH+WHEELER:

UNC plays at a tempo even faster than Oregon

I know, but have a weak defense. It’s basically a tossup

@Budvarakbar: RT We can all agree with Word that Tom’s original #88 was not changed. 05 was wrong on this one.
Recently I’ve been getting e-mail notification on some of MY posts–not sure why.
RT N.C has a terrible defense and is a 6 point underdog at Va.

@Richard Wheeler: SF will pitch Bumgarner tomorrow. If they don’t, they are conceding the series. Got my first upset correctly tonight.

@Richard Wheeler:

RT We can all agree with Word that Tom’s original #88 was not changed. 05 was wrong on this one.

05 admitted that eons ago and said it was 90 that was changed. I’m not sure you can say she was ‘wrong’. Tom clearly changed a post, 05 was only mistaken on what number it was. She discussed the content of the altered comment correctly.

@Richard Wheeler:

Recently I’ve been getting e-mail notification on some of MY posts–not sure why.

I have not received any notifications on any of mine.

@Redteam: You got 05 confused with Ditto who got the two posts confused and apologized.
O5 said Tom changed 88. She tried to paint Tom a liar She was mean and nasty and an outright liar herself Wouldn’t apologize even when Word answered her questions. Never said she was confused with 90- Let’s not go through this again. You’ll look foolish. Word has already confirmed this and why bring him back again.
I said Bum would pitch 4 only if Royals won 2 and 3—hope I’m right. Royals bullpen is lights out.
I see below the liar is out there lurking. What a sad old lady—at least we got sports for diversion–LOL
For the record no one ever confirmed 90 was altered—it wasn’t–according to Word it was misinterpreted by DITTO.

@Redteam:

RW must have nothing better to do so he is trying to keep his p!ssing contest going.

Don’t humor him. He’s a loser and you and I both know it.

@retire05:

So you’ve heard all the evidence. And you’re the star witness. Just tells us all, in one word, was my post 88 changed?

@Tom:

Just tells us all, in one word, was my post 88 changed?

You know. Why ask me? And why should I EVER give any quarter to someone who calls me a racist? It ain’t gonna happen, Tommy Troll. You know what you did although I think you are totally without conscience.

@Richard+Wheeler: RW, trying to make 05 look bad in an effort to make Tom look like a winner. Never happen.

She tried to paint Tom a liar She was mean and nasty

She didn’t ‘try to paint’ Tom, she just pointed it out. Tom does a very good job of putting himself on display. Lying is just part of who he is. 05 may have been wrong about the number, but she gets most stuff correct. Tom, nada……

For the record no one ever confirmed 90 was altered

you can just let that subject die, it’s never gonna make the liberals look good.
Stick with the sports part. I thought you said they would stick with 4 days rest for Bum. I recall saying they would have to use him for 1,4,7 and that would still only give them 3 games, but in hindsight, the liklihood is that if they need him for 7 the series would already be over. Saw some good pitching on both sides last night.

@retire05:

he is trying to keep his p!ssing contest going.

true and I can’t figure out why. It’s never gonna make Tom look good. Just because someone makes a legitimate mistake, such as quoting the wrong number on a comment, is understandable. The statement about altering the comment was correct, it just happened to be a different comment number. RW can likely understand that, Tom, Never. …..RW is just trying to make the lib look good.

@Tom:

was my post 88 changed?

88 wasn’t a post, it was a comment.

@Redteam:

he is trying to keep his p!ssing contest going.

true and I can’t figure out why. It’s never gonna make Tom look good.

Make no mistake, RW did not rush to Tom’s defense because he has any great admiration for Tom. He did it because a) it was a chance to defend another radical liberal and b) he wanted to disparage me. It wouldn’t have mattered who it was. The fact that it was Tom was incidental.

@Redteam: For the record, you are wrong. Understand you want to defend 05 but it makes you look foolish and disingenuous.
Who reads this crap anyway? Maybe 5 or 6 of us. I asked Bud and Word, both Conservatives, to comment on this. You ignored them in your defense of 05. So be it.

Vogelsong will pitch today and Bum will go tomorrow on his usual 4 days rest. JINTS NEED EM BOTH.

@Richard Wheeler:

For the record, you are wrong. Understand you want to defend 05 but it makes you look foolish and disingenuous.

I doubt very much that you can show me where I was wrong. Nothing commented so far indicates that.
If I thought commenting on this blog was foolish and disingenuous, then I wouldn’t do it. I mostly do it to expose the liberals and socialists that hate this country and that do all they can to bring down the American way. That’s ole Tom. Nothing that Tom has said displays his brilliance.
So the Giants are conceding…….

@Redteam: Giants 2-2 Bumgarner today. “Rumors of the Giants demise were greatly exaggerated.”
CFL Picks
R.T 6-4
R.W. 9-1

@rich wheeler:

CFL Picks

What’s that?

@rich wheeler: You count like a liberal. That’s not the correct W-L for either of us.
