NY, California begin brainwashing children

Under the guise of teaching kids “media literacy” New York and California are implementing courses for supposedly spotting disinformation and paid stories. In other words, they are brainwashing kids to regard conservative viewpoints as disinformation and lies.

California:

The new instruction will slowly be integrated into the curriculum of students from kindergarten through high school under Assembly Bill 873, authored by Assemblymember Marc Berman (D-Menlo Park) and signed into law by Gov. Gavin Newsom .in October. Media literacy content will be included in English language arts, mathematics, science, history and social science curriculums.

The law was necessitated by young people’s growing reliance on the internet and social media platforms, such as TikTok, Instagram and X, for news and information, Berman said. Texas, New Jersey and Delaware have also passed strong media literacy laws, according to Media Literacy Now, a nonprofit research organization

“Teaching media literacy is a key strategy to support our children, their families, and our society that are inundated with misinformation and disinformation on social media networks and digital platforms,” said Berman. “We have a responsibility to teach the next generation to be more critical consumers of online content and more guarded against misinformation, propaganda, and conspiracy theories.”

New York:

Today I’m directing the director of the Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services to develop media literacy tools for K-12 in our public schools. This will teach students and even teachers to help understand how to spot conspiracy theories and misinformation, disinformation, and online hate. Start talking about what we’re seeing out there. Give the teachers the tools they need to help these conversations in school. And by teaching younger New Yorkers about how to discern between digital fact and digital fiction we can better inoculate them from hatred and the spread of it and help prepare them for a very fast-moving and often confusing world.

It’s all about who writes the curricula. The above is word salad for brainwashing.

How about teaching the rules of grammar, rhetoric and logic so student can figure out truth, lies and propaganda for themselves?
Nope.
Teachers are too dumb for that.

I read Kenneth Burke’s books in college called, The Rhetoric of Motives, and The Grammar of Motives.
I took debate and learned how to spot fallacies of logic on the fly…..in high school.
Of course, we had teachers who had actually been prisoners of war in Germany and Japan and had experienced their brainwashing techniques firsthand.
They opposed any propaganda of any sort in our schools because of their suffering.

Keep in mind, these same people promote the Russian collusion, laptop disinformation, quid pro quo, insurrection, white supremacy threat, multi-genders, secure border, racist America and climate change lies are who will be “teaching” children how to tell truth from lies. Gee, how could THIS go wrong?

Both States run by the Democ-Rats with the M.S. Media bottom Feeders hiding thus from the American People

In what way is this plan being hidden?

Are they openly promoting how they promote leftist ideology and suppress any facts that endanger the left and its agenda?

That doesn’t address the question.

Yes, it does. Recall how, until COVID caused remote schooling, the degenerate and racist curriculum was hidden.

The fact that you are railing against programs designed to help kids distinguish between real and fake information on the Internet is mind-boggling.

People, including kids, should be taught how to think, not what to think. Again, while in theory not a bad idea, the leftist liars that suppress truth and spread leftist propaganda are who are leading this effort. Now, I am not surprised when committed fascists cheer this further erosion of free speech and thought, but it goes against everything the United States and the Constitution stands for.

You have no idea at all what the curriculum will look like, but you’re nonetheless sure that “it goes against everything the United States and the Constitution stands for.”

As I clearly stated, the same people that promoted “Russian collusion” and swore Hunter’s laptop was “Russian disinformation” push this fascist bullshit, so provide the evidence that indicates they would take a different tack in their promotion of a Ministry of Truth for kids? If the left is behind it, it undercuts the Constitution. It’s what they do. And, the left is behind it.

What kinds of things do you think will be included in the curriculum? What might some of the specific lessons be about?

The Democrat ideology. We’ve already seen their curriculum. Promoting racism, denigrating the United States, ignoring science, promoting sexual degeneracy to young children, socialism, fascism, totalitarianism. In fact, Democrats should be kept away from children.

You’re sliding around the question be being too general. You say, as an example, that the curriculum will promote sexual degeneracy. Where would that come into play in a curriculum about critical thinking and the use of the Internet? Would there be a specific lesson to promote it?

I only ask because if someone genuinely wanted to promote those ideas, I can’t see where any of it would fit into the school day. Would it be something like “Hey, kids, please open your math books to 74. We’re going to be learning how to multiply a unit fraction by a whole number. But first, let me tell you about the joys of sexual degeneration”?

My district already has a digital citizenship curriculum, and it includes lessons on explosive topics like “Be careful about giving online strangers your personal information,” and “How to decide whether a site is run by a real news organization,” and “The difference between using Wikipedia and using the Encyclopedia Britannica Online as a source.”

Where would that come into play in a curriculum about critical thinking and the use of the Internet? Would there be a specific lesson to promote it?

You really are pretty stupid, aren’t you? You think no one sees anything. How about in “teaching” that anyone can simply choose their gender/sex on a whim? How about teaching that as “science” and teaching that when you see a refute of that on the internet, those citing biological facts are merely denying how FEELINGS trump facts? Since that is what the left currently promotes, how great a leap is it to see it applied to this Ministry of Truth curriculum?

I only ask because if someone genuinely wanted to promote those ideas, I can’t see where any of it would fit into the school day.

And that’s the problem; it DOESN’T fit. It doesn’t BELONG. It has to be jammed in, force-fit and it takes the place of curriculum that SHOULD and NEEDS to be taught. The more the federal government intrudes into education, the dumber kids are getting. This would continue once states begin imposing a leftist indoctrination agenda into education, which has, actually, already begun.

I turned on FOX News yesterday just in time to hear a news host say to a guest, “Tell us what we should think about this.”

And?

If that requires clarification, clarification won’t help.

In your day, students didn’t take algebra until high school. Are you the worse off for it?

Do you think introducing political indoctrination into curriculum helps or hurts math grades?

My son was playing Dungeon of the Algebra Dragons at 7 years old on his commodore 64, Mikey . Way back when computers came with programs and thanks to Gates greed now you rent them.
You dumb f’s are working your way out of a job, to be replaced by AI.
We actually had basic algebra in Jr. High, so wrong again dude.

Sure thing.

You have no idea at all what the curriculum will look like,

Do you? Does Loonafornia even have a CDOE? Does the state not implement standard curriculum in all California schools, grades 1-12? If they do, and you teach from that state approved curriculum, you should be able to tell us what that is and how it will change.

In your day, students didn’t take algebra until high school. Are you the worse off for it?

Wrong. Intro to Algebra was started in 7th grade. Cursive was taught in first grade. English every year. In high school, it was (8 semesters) Algebra I and II, Geometry I and II, Trigonometry I and II and Calculus I and II. All required.

Add to that four years of English, Geology, American History and World History, four years of a science including Biology, et al. Two years of a foreign language.

But I don’t expect California to meet those standards. After all, you’ve bought into the whole “Common Core” b/s.

Public schools fail , not because the “adults” cant teach its because they cant learn.

And because there are SO MANY “English as second language” students the teachers have to pace the entire year to. Yeah, thanks, Democrats and your goddamn open borders.

Save it for a bumper sticker.

Sure but its only you that wont get it.

INT O RIDEN WITH BIDEN, Screwball

???

My answer to those questions is “yes,” and I have nearly forty years under my belt watching this stuff being developed and administering all of it in the classroom. In my experience, most of the hypotheticals that people are pearl-clutching over in this thread are simply not things that happen in the standard classroom. But please feel free to interrupt my expertise with your opinions.

Not Pearl clutching more eye rolling is there anything you silly bastids wont do to avoid teaching the basics? Lets add this crap.

You must have missed that part of my response to you. As is par for you, I get zip with you giving me braggadocia. Now, groomer, do you think you can tell us what the state curriculum is, what part of it, if any, that you teach in your classroom and how it will change? Or am I just going to get more obfuscation from you?

Your questions didn’t specify curriculum topic; in addition, starting off with the very general question of whether the state even has a Department of Education in no way suggested that you were referring specifically to a digital literacy curriculum. I assumed you were just asking about curricula in general, since that is exactly the kind of non sequitur I’ve come to expect in your comments.

I apologize for misinterpreting your poorly-worded question.

California has k-12 curricula, or frameworks, on a variety of topics that I have administered for decades. Since the digital literacy curriculum was just announced, there’s no list of changes to go over.

That being said, none of the frameworks currently address any of the subjects that you all seem to be worried about, and there’s no reason to think that they will. As I mentioned up above, my own district has a digital literacy curriculum that doesn’t do any of the things that are being mentioned in this thread.

Before you all lose your collective shit about this, why don’t you wait until the draft framework has been opened up for public comment, so you can see what it really says, rather than inventing boogeymen?

none of the frameworks currently address any of the subjects that you all seem to be worried about, and there’s no reason to think that they will.

Please, quote me ver batim where I mention I was worried about any subjects. Or is that just another one of your b/s responses to make factitious claims?

If a builder tells you he is going to show you the “framework” of a house you’re buying and it is up to you to decide what it will look like as a finished product, run like Hell. Your state site gives generalities, based on Common Core standards funded by the guy who wants us all the eat bugs, so the big question remains, how much leeway is given to the teacher in the classroom? Are you allowed to inject books, web sites, etc. into the framework at will? How much influence does Randi the Lesbian have in California?

As to digital literacy; it is another one of Bill Gate’s wonder ideas. i.e. how to sell computers to school superintendents who are as clueless as their students.

Yeah, “digital literacy” is a real problem with today’s youth. That’s just liberal-speak for “indoctrination”.

Tell me you don’t know what “digital literacy” means without telling me you don’t know what “digital literacy” means.

OK, groomer, shall we address “digital literacy” specifically in your failed state?

Or are you going to argue that with “learning integration” you don’t get literacy?

I don’t know what point you’re trying to make.

Of course you don’t, groomer.

You’re not that smart.

Maybe you should think about where your “digital learning” programs originated. Instead, like Comrade Greggie, you continue to show your ignorance.

Instead of being cryptic, why don’t you just make your point in plain language?

Why do you ask me to do what you are either unwilling, or unable to do?

Because it’s your point, not mine.

Nope.

You said:

none of the frameworks currently address any of the subjects that you all seem to be worried about, and there’s no reason to think that they will.

I responded:

Please, quote me verbatim where I mention I was worried about any subjects.

You have yet to do that. You simply want to play games of a 6 year old.

It will be doing the children of California a favor when “teachers” like you are replaced with AI robots, as is the Lolita Express frequent flyer, known as Bill Gates, wants to do.

Now, how about you quote me verbatim where I mention I was worried about any subjects? Or will you just obfuscate again?

Or you can follow Elon Musk’s directions and go F yourself.

Nope. Here is what I responded to:

Or are you going to argue that with “learning integration” you don’t get literacy?

I still have no idea what point you’re trying to make, and, frankly, I don’t care that much.

More parents should call for Home Education and getting their kids out of these Indoctrination Centers we once called Schools just get them away from the leftists NEA and the Lies from the Globalists

My experience with students who come to the public school classroom after being homeschooled is that many of them—maybe most of them—are without any skills at all. “Homeschooling” often consists of letting kids “teach themselves” by watching YouTube.

Maybe YOU failed to teach.

Maybe YOU failed to teach.

Maybe I failed to teach kids who were being homeschooled and who were not in my class?

Had a neighbor who claimed to be home schooling, basically feral children that needed speech therapy, she was a hippie wanna be, hung black lives matter signs ect..
Then there are those that blow government kids out of the water at spelling bees, group of parents can hire a retired teacher, there are entire programs available with written materials often the kids can get through a daily in a couple of hours, not sit for 8 in a cramped desk next to the one sent to school sick.
Both my kids were reading basic words and doing basic math before kindergarden, as were the grandkids I babysat. Long cold winters here I didnt want them to just sit in front of the boob tube and zone. Allowed the educational video games if it was raining. I didnt call it home schooling, I called it raising the kids.

maybe most of them—are without any skills at all.
That is a parenting issue what is the excuse for entire districts that children are not proficient? You get the lil bugers at 4, now want them earlier? Are you good at potty training?
