Past Quote of the Day

“The process of collective bargaining, as usually understood, cannot be transplanted into the public service…I want to emphasize my conviction that militant tactics have no place [in the public sector]…A strike of public employees manifests nothing less than an intent on their part to prevent or obstruct the operations of Government.”

Scott Walker channels JFK… except for that 10988 deal [Reader Post]

We are at the beginning of the most consequential domestic conflict the United States has fought since the Civil War. Like the battle between the Blue and Grey, this one is for the continued existence of the country. Today’s weapon of choice might be the legislative pen and the protest sign and there may not be blood flowing in the streets, but make no mistake, the stakes are exactly the same: The survival of the nation as we know it. If that sounds like hyperbole, think about the German inflation of the 1920’s or Zimbabwe today. At some point taxpayers will have nothing left to give, the Chinese will stop buying our debt and our creditors will begin calling in loans that Uncle Sam is unable to pay. We might survive, but America would be a decidedly different nation.

The Seasons Change And All Remains The Same

Life in the far North is a continual rotation of the seasons, they dictate your life and your efforts, to resist is hopeless; a rancher learns to adjust to the dramatic climate changes and his life has fewer surprises and disasters. Spring is the season that causes the most problems, there is the thaw and the runoff, the incessant winds that make horses nervous and bring down trees while you walk in the bush, the creeks and rivers are in flood and will take your life without remorse if you are foolish enough to think you are invincible. Everyone waits for the mud to dry, so they can get to the fields and work the ground as the frost keeps rising up out of the ground and the rains keep coming down in three and four day monsoons. People are often grouchy while they wait to begin farming and the normal activities of the outdoors man.

The Great Void In Education [Reader Post]

Watching teachers lead young children by the hand to demonstrate on the streets of Wisconsin, educating them on the finer art of union bargaining methodology, it becomes abundantly clear that great voids exist in the educational continuum. The void becomes even more obvious when the Oval office, and possibly the Democratic Party, meddle with the State leadership by championing Union actions such as shutting down schools.

As we set out on our paths through life, we come to recognize that students graduating from High School, University or College, are lacking some necessary tools and percepts critical to all endeavors, personal or business, which academia could have provided. Union tactics are not among them.

Corruption In The Age Of Obama:The Loss Of Professionalism

While teachers wail about their efforts being strictly for the welfare of the children, their veneer of professionalism wears thinner and thinner. There can be no doubt in anyone’s mind that the teacher’s don’t want to give up their sense of entitlement and their position of minor Elitists within Obama’s Socialism. No! they have no intention of sharing the burden of financial responsibility, that is for the non-unionists: they are the ones who chose not to join the trade union movement; they are the ones who refuse to get on Obama’s Gravy Train that runs on other people’s money; let them eat cake or listen to Michelle rant about diet or listen to Teleprompter Reader himself tell us to forgo vacations as he sends his family to Vail to for a skiing vacation.

The Ugly American

President Obama and the DNC are supporting unrest against legal legislative processes in Wisconsin and plan other such moves in more states that are planning to legislate financial responsibility, while ignoring the plight of demonstrators for Democracy against an Islamic Regime in Iran and the Tenth Amendment and after encouraging the overthrow of one of our most important allies in the Middle East.

There is an ugliness to this behavior that can no longer be ignored. States have sovereignty, under the Tenth Amendment that is being attacked by President Obama and his henchmen within the Democratic National Committee, the message is clear: we will attack any other states with our thugs if you try to mess with our unions or legislate financial responsibility.

He’s only your President if you belong to a union [Reader Post]

The Wisconsin Teachers Union spills the beans. Their motto has been revealed.

“Screw the children. It’s all about me”

In 1981 PATCO, the air traffic controllers’ union went on an illegal strike. Pres. Ronald Reagan ordered them back to work with small success. Reagan fired those who ignored the return to work order. The time has come for this to happen again.

Obama Stands Up For Wisconsin Public Service Unions

Governor Scott Walker, of Wisconsin unveiled his plans to salvage the economy and budget of Wisconsin. His plan calls for sweeping legislation that will weaken public employee rights and bargaining ability.

State officials alerted the Wisconsin State Employee unions that expired collective bargaining contracts will be terminated on March 13. A budget repair bill also unveiled will do away with all collective bargaining rights for nearly all public employees and make it much easier to fire employees.

The EPA waivers begin [Reader Post]

And you’ll never guess who got one.

The Obama adminstration has issued over 700 waivers granting employers exemptions from participating in Obamacare. Among them is the SEIU, which lobbied hard to have Obamacare implemented so health care costs would be lowered. Now SEIU is exempt because complying with the new cost-lowering law would be too expensive. The SEIU contributed $28 million to the Obama campaign but has no money for Obamacare compliance.
