Remembering President Trump’s Stirring Independence Day Speech At Mount Rushmore – Four Years Later

Loading

Four years ago, America was being ransacked by Antifa and BLM from coast to coast, bringing cities like Portland and Minneapolis to near-ruin in what were some of the most destructive riots and darkest months in our nation’s history.  The agitators belonged to the Far Left but had the support of the mainstream Democratic Party – including Joe Biden, whose political philosophy aligned with the rioters in significant ways.

The goal of the riots was always to “fundamentally transform America,†in the portentous words of Barack Obama.  In other words, destroy the best of our national heritage; the monuments dedicated to our Founding Fathers and past heroes, and everything that once made America great, its Constitution and commitment to human liberty and the rule of law, above all.

It was against that backdrop of national pandemonium that President Trump gave some of his most stirring remarks of his entire presidency, which lifted the morale of a country that many seriously doubted would survive beyond the summer months.  In sharp contrast with the tear-it-down nihilism that defines the Progressive Left and has informed so much of the policies and lawfare we have observed during the Biden years, President Trump reinvigorated the spirit of our nation by recommitting to our founding principles.  While the subject matter of the speech was superficially a dedication to the four great statesmen whose faces adorn Mount Rushmore – Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln, and Theodore Roosevelt – the President’s deeper message was to celebrate our history using the achievements of its four greatest heroes.

In this regard, the speech served two purposes.  The first was to depict a positive vision for America’s future, by paying respectful tribute to its past greatness.  As the President himself said, “[n]o nation has done more to advance the human condition than the United States of America.â€Â  Rather than creating a place of oppression and evil, the achievement of 1776 was, in the President’s moving words, “the culmination of thousands of years of western civilization and the triumph not only of spirit, but of wisdom, philosophy, and reason.â€Â  In other words, America stood as the apotheosis of enlightened achievement coupled with Biblical morality.  It was the only nation founded on explicitly rational principles, which made possible two and a half centuries of technological, scientific, and political innovation – innovation that “unleashed the greatest leap of human advancement the world has ever known.â€Â  The greatest of these achievements, of course, is our freedom – which the Left has attempted to topple with blind rage and envy.  In the four years since, we have even better knowledge of where all that rage and hatred leads to: the weaponization of our justice system and the political persecution of President Donald Trump, which has been nonstop in the years since he departed office.

The second purpose of the speech was to espouse a positive policy agenda for the nation.  President Trump used the four national heroes on Mount Rushmore as a frame of reference to highlight his own legacy, adeptly situating that moment in time within the broader cultural tapestry of our nation’s storied history.  In doing this, President Trump demonstrated how Make America Great Again was in the right because it was the cultural descendant of the American Revolution; not the “left-wing cultural revolution†still burning cities down as the President spoke “designed to overthrow†it.

President Trump cleverly took virtues from each of his four greatest predecessors in order to give life to a movement that was depleted on morale and provide a roadmap for navigating out of those turbulent waters. In describing the Father of our Country, George Washington, President Trump noted “when defeat seemed absolutely certain, he took what remained of his forces on a daring nighttime crossing of the Delaware River.â€Â  Because of this bravery, by the next morning Washington’s troops “seized victory at Trenton … forcing the surrender of the most powerful empire on the planet[.]â€

On Thomas Jefferson, this nation’s third president, President Trump described him “as the author of American freedom.â€Â  As the writer of the Declaration of Independence, “one of the greatest treasures of human history,†Jefferson laid down the moral and philosophical underpinnings for American freedom, including “a model for our cherished First Amendment.â€Â  No explanation is needed for why the First Amendment is of critical importance in today’s times: our fundamental rights to speak, assemble, and worship have weathered relentless attacks by the Left – all of which have only escalated in the intervening four years, from the crackdown on January 6th demonstrators to the suppression of conservative voices on Big Tech .  The latter case resulted in President Trump’s ban from every major social media platform for simply contesting election fraud in the aftermath of the November 2020 election.  Hence why the preservation of Jefferson’s handiwork – his professional and personal commitment to human freedom – remains of utmost importance to us.

The last two presidents honored on Mount Rushmore – Abraham Lincoln and Theodore Roosevelt – each confronted crises that parallel our own.  Roosevelt embodied the spirit of American exceptionalism.  Against the spirit of self-loathing and national desecration constantly promoted by the Left, President Trump aptly underscored Roosevelt’s “unbridled confidence of our national culture and identity,†which is sorely needed today.  He went on to describe Roosevelt as seeing “the towering grandeur of America’s mission in the world,†which he “pursued … with overwhelming energy and zeal.â€

Lincoln endured a constitutional crisis of a magnitude that threatened to tear our republic by the seams. Much like the ongoing strife that President Trump has stewarded our country through, Lincoln similarly “led the country through the darkest hours of American history, giving every ounce of strength that he had to ensure that government of the people, by the people, and for the people did not perish from this Earth.â€Â  Doubtlessly, President Trump must have felt the gravity of those words on a personal level, knowing that the fate of America depends, much like in Lincoln’s time, singularly on his ability to navigate us out of our own house divided, where government of the people similarly hangs in the balance.  Indeed, in a related context, it was Lincoln who also offered these prescient words: “whenever the vicious portion of population shall be permitted to gather in bands of hundreds and thousands, and burn churches, ravage and rob provision-stores, shoot editors, and hang and burn obnoxious persons at pleasure, and with impunity; depend on it, this Government cannot last.â€

Like Lincoln, President Trump also had some prophetic words of his own.  Towards the end of his speech, he seemed to forecast the weaponization of our criminal justice system which has targeted political dissidents of all kinds, from President Trump down to the J6 demonstrators, in the four years since.  First, President Trump condemned “the radical ideology attacking our country†that “advances under the banner of social justice.†“But in truth, it would demolish both justice and society.â€Â  He then predicted how this subversive ideology would destroy America: “It would transform justice into an instrument of division and vengeance, and it would turn our free and inclusive society into a place of repression, domination, and exclusion.â€

President Trump’s resounding vision for America was to “declare that the United States … is the most just and exceptional nation ever to exist on Earth.â€Â  He sharply contrasted this with the vision of the Left: “their goal is not a better America, their goal is the end of America.â€

After naming a litany of other American heroes, from every walk of life – statesmen to military leaders to sports heroes to entertainment superstars – President Trump ended his spirited remarks with a promise: “the best is yet to come.â€

Though it may have been four years longer than expected, let us end this Fourth of July with the hope that the worst is behind us, and while we are far from victory, perhaps we can be slightly more optimistic – and a little more certain – than we were at this same moment four years ago, knowing that, come November – aided by God’s good grace – the best now is truly yet to come.

07/04/24 – ‘Chaos is our friend.’ How Trump is quietly planning around Biden’s uncertain future

For much of the past year, Donald Trump and his allies have speculated that Joe Biden would not end up as the Democratic presidential nominee – suggesting without evidence that he would step down before the convention and be replaced by another candidate.

Now, with Biden facing an increasingly uncertain political future amid the fallout from his shaky debate performance, Republicans are trying to determine what the Democratic incumbent stepping aside would actually mean for the Trump campaign. And some believe the path back to the White House would likely be easier with Biden at the top of the ticket.

Trump and his allies have relished the extended spotlight on Biden this week, with the former president making the rare decision to lay low at his New Jersey club and allow Biden to be the story. Trump has no public events on his schedule, and his campaign surprised some aides and advisers by telling them to enjoy the Fourth of July holiday.

“Chaos is our friend,†a person close to Trump said.

Meanwhile, campaign advisers and key allies have been calling reporters and friendly Democrats, hunting for any clues into what might happen next should Biden ultimately walk away from his reelection bid…

Chaos is what they’ve promoted all along. Destabilization and disorder are their means to an end. They create unrest and chaos because no one in their right mind would embrace authoritarianism and abandon the rule of law in a orderly and prosperous nation.

Only idiot heed what CNN says. They are nothing but propaganda.

And idiots who watch CNN until their Brains turn to Mush then tell us were all wrong

‘Never seen language like this’: SCOTUS lawyer worried ‘something really dangerous going on’

07/01/24 – US Supreme Court lawyer and legal analyst Neal Katyal, speaking with MSNBC’s Katie Phang on Monday, expressed fear that he suspects “there’s something really dangerous” happening to the rule of law in the United States.

Phang noted how “stunned” legal experts were when Trump lawyer John Saul, during oral arguments in April, suggested that a president should be able to assassinate political opponents.

“Now the majority’s saying that if the president says it falls within the purview of his official acts, does he now legally and officially say, ‘I can commit murder?'” Phang asked Katyal.

“It’s unfathomable that the Supreme Court which has been such an august body, Chief justice John Marshall, Justice Thurgood Marshall — people like that — are issuing a decision like this,” the Supreme Court lawyer replied, “that allows for such things — as calling them official acts. And that’s why I think you saw Justice Sotomayor [write], ‘With fear for our democracy, I dissent.'”

Katyal continued, “And I can tell you, I’ve never seen language like this in a Supreme Court opinion or dissent. There is something really dangerous going on here, and something that is really threatening the entire basis of our constitution and separation of powers.”

“My parents came to this country from another because of the principle that no one was above the law,” the MSNBC legal analyst emphasized. “That’s what we hold out as most dear. And now to have a Supreme Court opinion that blesses, to be sure, 100%, it blesses the president pressuring his justice department to falsely say that there were election irregularities. They say that’s an official act.”

“Once you go down that road, the pressure on presidents to do all sorts of untoward things is immense,” the legal expert emphasized. Fortunately, for 200 years, we’ve elected people — Republicans and Democrats alike — who’ve colored within those lines. But I fear that the next one may not be so solicitous of our constitutional values and norms.”

That’s because never before has the nation faced an existential threat to its very existence like the Democrats pose.

A hundred buck tip, proving that trickle down is really real…

Obviously this man has eaten too much cake. (Speaking of trickle down, note the prominently displayed golfer’s pee bottle.)

So… he doesn’t wear a diaper like Robin Ware/Robert L. Peters/JRB Ware/Pedo Peter/idiot Biden.

Your still stupid if you believe al that leftists propaganda

Happy 4th…

To those who turned protesters into abused political prisoners, to hell with you, EVERY day of the year. Fascists.

A prescient warning from one of America’s Founding Fathers…

Biden Tells Black-Owned Philly Radio Station That He’s “Proud” to Be “The First Black Woman to Serve with a Black President” (AUDIO)

I’m pretty much taking your Gateway Pundit articles as a measure of your intelligence.

Biden Tells Black-Owned Philly Radio Station That He’s “Proud†to Be “The First Black Woman to Serve with a Black President†(AUDIO)

He’s talking about his Vice President, yo-yo. Your text quote doesn’t even match the 8-second out-of-context audio clip.

Last edited 2 days ago by Greg

ROTFLMAO at your defense that Demented Joe is talking about Kamel-A. His VP is NOT serving under a black president, moron.

It’s not our fault Robin Ware/Robert L. Peters/JRB Ware/Pedo Peter/idiot Biden can’t speak. He’s a moron, but for a Democrat, he’s smart.

His vice president serves under a black man? Are you a freaking loon? Do you hear yourself?

Watching you lose sanity is my favorite thing to witness nowadays. Just makes my day! Keep it up!

I have no doubt as Trump racks win after win we will witness our own 4th of July in these pages with your insane screeds.

“My three favorite things are eating my cats and not using commas.”

Greg seems to enjoy having his remarks shoved up his ass.

You have moronic right-wing social media memes shoved up your posterior countless times daily and don’t even notice.

Are you going to cry again?

I think I’ll wait to see how the national intelligence test turns out in November.

Did you read what Alexander Hamilton said? It’s really on target, isn’t it?

Which sums up exactly what the Democrats and Robin Ware/Robert L. Peters/JRB Ware/Pedo Peter/idiot Biden are doing.

Explain why your MAGA tools in the House sabotaged the bipartisan immigration bill and proposed cuts in border patrol funding, you lying piece of crap. Everybody knows you did it to preserve your hot button campaign issue.

Explain why you’re more concerned about the “menace” of gay and transgender people than psychos with assault weapons mowing down kids in our classrooms. Your effin’ Supreme Court appointees brought back bump stocks after some lunatic used them to slaughter 60 people in Las Vegas.

Inflation? You cut taxes, held down interest rates, and flooded the country with monopoly money while running up more debt than any other 4-year president.

How about judging the debate on substantive answers rather than rally bullshit and optics? You told 30 demonstrable lies over the course of 90 minutes.

I’d vote for a stuffed chimpanzee before I’d vote for a dangerous lunatic like Donald Trump. A stuffed chimpanzee would do a lot less damage.

Last edited 2 days ago by Greg

That was Biden that told 30 lies, Bumpstock would reduce the accuracy and control of any weapon. Where did the hard drive go from his computer? All is not as the narrative released.

Accuracy and control don’t matter much when you’re spraying a festival crowd from your 32nd floor hotel window. The Las Vegas lunatic got off a thousand rounds with his bump-stock equipped weapons, killing 60 people and wounding 413. Based on this moronic Supreme Court ruling and the equally idiotic Chevron ruling, they’ll probably challenge the illegality of the Glock switch next.

Chaos is coming. Trump is the cause, not the solution.

Last edited 2 days ago by Greg

Sure if the Army of terrorists allowed into the country by idiots get them, or all the military aged men from China.
Chaos is here pal.

You’ve never encountered chaos in your life.

I avoid blue cities.

In 2021, the average red state murder rate was 9.0 per 100,000 residents while the average blue state murder rate was 6.8 per 100,000. In 2022, both these numbers dropped slightly to 8.5 per 100,000 residents and 6.4 per 100,000 residents, respectively.”

Maybe if everyone had bump stocks and Glock switches it would help.

Last edited 2 days ago by Greg

Not an expert about all the red or blue states’ murder rates, but I do know what’s going on in Utah.
Utah is a “red state,” with a big blue city, Salt Lake City.
SLC is a magnet for liberals who move here to escape blue state high taxes and crime.
But they bring problems, including murders, with them.
Illegals, dumped in Utah by joe, gravitate to SLC where they have created an underground economy and all the murders involved with “protecting their territory.”
You might have missed it but people given hormones are prone to violence and even have become mass murderers. SLC is ground zero for Utah’s sex change subculture, and violence, including one (man? woman?) who went back to his family home in southern Utah and murdered both his elderly parents.

Pretty easy to improve your stats when you don’t prosecute criminals and you don’t report the crimes committed to the FBI.

If only they were reporting crime…
about 40% of law enforcement agencies nationwide did not submit 2021 crime data.

Simple. Because it was a bill to codify the open border, guaranteeing 5,000 illegal immigrants a day and doing nothing but providing more processing capability, not any security. THAT’S why. May it die a horrible death.

Robin Ware/Robert L. Peters/JRB Ware/Pedo Peter/idiot Biden IS a stuffed chimpanzee, with brain damage.

Last edited 2 days ago by Just Plain Bill

No, it was not “a bill to codify the open border”. Is that what you think republican Senator James Lankford of Oklahoma came up with?

02/04/24 – LANKFORD RELEASES BORDER SECURITY PACKAGE WITH HUGE WINS FOR SECURING THE BORDER

The problem was that it would have cost your f*cking cult leader his immigration issue—just like the successful expulsion of Russian invaders from Ukraine would have set him back in the polls.

His MAGA tools in the House made sure that neither happened.

Last edited 2 days ago by Greg

It also allowed Biden to let in 5,000 illegals a day. Do I need to do the math for you, moron?

No, that ISN’T what it would have, you propaganda addled, Trump-worshiping nincompoop.

01/31/24 – The bipartisan border deal would not allow 5,000 illegal crossings per day, despite what Trump says

…“It is illegal to cross our border. But apparently, we’re concocting some sort of deal to allow the president to shut down the border after 5,000 people break the law,” Johnson, R-La., said last month before the text had been released. “Why is it 5,000? If you add that up, that’d be a million more illegals into our country every year before we take remedial measures. It’s madness. We shouldn’t be asking what kind of enforcement authority kicks in at 5,000 illegal crossings a day, because the number should be zero.â€

Trump made a similar claim to reporters: “That’s a terrible bill. Five thousand a day? That’s a lot. That’s, like, record-setting stuff.”

But that’s not actually what the bipartisan deal released on Feb. 4 would do. Here’s what we know:

Migrants would not just be released into the U.S.

Migrants would not be able to just cross the border illegally under the new bill. It would end the practice of “catch and release,” in which Border Patrol agents release migrants into the U.S. while they await immigration hearings.

Instead, migrants who tried to cross the border illegally would be detained immediately, with their asylum claims decided while they were in detention. People would be removed immediately within 15 days if they failed their asylum claim interviews.

The bill does provide exceptions from detention for unaccompanied minors and families even if they cross the border illegally between ports of entry. But those migrants would be placed under community supervision; what that looks like would be at the discretion of the Department of Homeland Security.

What about migrants who try to cross legally with asylum claims?

If the deal were to become law, migrants who come to the U.S. border at official ports of entry would be diverted to a new “removal authority program” in which they would have 90 days to make their initial asylum interviews. Those migrants would not be released into the interior of the U.S., either; they would either be detained or kept under government supervision.

If they failed their initial asylum interviews, they would be removed immediately.

But migrants who passed the asylum interview would get to stay in the country for an additional 90 days until their asylum cases were decided. In the meantime, they would receive work authorizations while they await adjudication of their cases. If their cases succeed, they would qualify for a path to citizenship.

So where did this 5,000-a-day figure come from?

The bipartisan deal does include provisions that would shut down the border entirely if a certain threshold is hit, but those are border encounters, not crossings. As noted above, no migrants trying to enter the U.S. illegally would be allowed into the country unless they passed asylum interviews or were being held under government supervision.

Under the new immigration bill, the Department of Homeland Security could close the border if too many migrants were showing up with asylum claims. After negotiators conferred with the Border Patrol and officials at the Department of Homeland Security, they crafted the legislation to give DHS the authority to close the border if they reached a seven-day average of 4,000 or more border encounters. A seven-day average of 5,000 or more would mandate a border closure. If the number exceeded 8,500 in a single day, there would also be a mandatory border closure…

Trump’s House tools killed the first comprehensive solution to come along in years—one that would have been subject to modifying legislation, had the need arisen. Instead, the bastards got us NOTHING. But Trump could continue to condemn the problem to his rally mobs.

You clearly did not read the bill. No surprise. You let the left wing press tell you what to think.

As if Trump’s flock of hypnotized sheep read it…

Last edited 2 days ago by Greg

Well then, I am not a hypnotized sheet. Like I said, you let the lying left wing press tell you what to think.

Was Senator James Lankford of Oklahoma part of this evil Biden conspiracy to replace right-wing gun-toting yahoos with industrious little brown people?

Which part of the bill you supposedly read allows Biden to let in 5,000 illegals per day?

Last edited 2 days ago by Greg

OKGOP State Committee members passed the resolution disapproving of Lankford’s work to pass a bipartisan border deal. The resolution, which was posted on social media by state Sen. Dusty Deevers, said the Oklahoma Republican Party will cease all support for Lankford .
Biden conspiracy to replace right-wing gun-toting yahoos with industrious little brown people?
So democrats dont have jobs are they all on the welfare and dont need employment?

He did something that Trump didn’t like, and Trump’s loyalists went after him. That’s how Trump’s governmental apparatus would operate, too.

What word describes this sort of government?

It was a crap deal bad law. Trump does not have the power you assign to him. It is Democrats that swat and lawfare. You are so naive how the parasites really operate.

He did something no one that cares for the life of innocent citizens and the security of our country likes.

You idiot.

Neither this bill nor any other legislation would have been necessary — theoretically or otherwise — had Pedo Pete simply left Trump admin policies in place.

But he didn’t. And he rolled out the red carpet.

This is the history of this Democrat party since 1933 — light a dumpster fire, blame other guy, then enact policies that make themselves wealthy and more powerful and the situation worse.

You idiot.

Tuck Frump and his policies. I hope alligators take him off the putting green.

Yeah, that’s what got the secured border opened wide open with an invitation sent out for any and all illegal immigrants to surge to the border and drain the US taxpayers dry. He welcomed criminals, rapists and murderers.

No, fuck YOU for supporting the murder and rape of so many innocent girls by illegal immigrants.

Yes, it absolutely WOULD all 5,000 a day. Otherwise, why was that a cutoff? His executive order tops out at 2,500 a day, but they don’t even enforce that. Robin Ware/Robert L. Peters/JRB Ware/Pedo Peter/idiot Biden working hard to make the cartels fabulously wealthy through human trafficking. He won’t approve a raise for the military but there are unlimited funds for illegal immigrants. Why are Democrats registering illegal immigrants to vote?

Another Lie Biden Pedo pete told.

Trump secured the border by SECURING the border. Robin Ware/Robert L. Peters/JRB Ware/Pedo Peter/idiot Biden reversed every means to reduce illegal immigration Trump had in place, including having Mexico and Central America working WITH us to cut the flow of illegal immigrants. This laughable excuse of an immigration bill did NOTHING to reduce illegal immigration, only provide the means for processing releasing and spreading illegal immigrants more rapidly. The blatant misrepresentation of this as “border security” is corrupt and borderline criminal.

Why wouldn’t the Senate discuss HR2? Why are Democrats registering illegal immigrants to vote?

Schiff is simply in the lying business.

Fascism starts with election fraud, then desperation to stay in power. Democrats have brought fascism to our nation.

If you insist on using big and important words like that, you had goddamn jolly well know what it means first.

Which big important words are you having difficulty with?

How many times have we watched Donald Trump face reporters for as long as they had questions….answering every question, no notes when he was president?

Karine called real videos (of joe being feeble) “cheap fakes.”

Turns out the White House has been producing cheap fake videos of joe for some time.
Look at WH produced videos of joe talking about, say, pot.
2 minutes, 15 cuts!
In other videos joe can’t get thru even a 45 second statement without 6 cuts!
joe is senile, demented, feeble.

He didn’t even remember it was JULY, much less July 4th!
Someone on TV shamed the White House into switching out their pride stuff and posting an “America’s Birthday,” one.

As long as joe represented their interests all these donors and their friends kept quiet about joe’s senility.
He really is gone and has been gone for a long time.

Yep, it’s an insane new story.

Does anyone remember his speech in Poland not long after he took office? Does anyone think Robin Ware/Robert L. Peters/JRB Ware/Pedo Peter/idiot Biden could EVER give such a speech? First, which is only notable given the competition, Trump can give a speech that is coherent. Next, Trump can give a speech that doesn’t have to vilify a large portion of our population, as Robin Ware/Robert L. Peters/JRB Ware/Pedo Peter/idiot Biden invariably does. Trump doesn’t have to invoke fear, hatred or racism; his is a message of hope, peace and unity… if only the other side would lay down their weapons.

I wonder what that annoying little pest Kaepernick did today besides being a total Idiot?
