Amazon sent out a letter in “solidarity” with the trans community.
One day after a transgender-identified shooter murdered three children and three staff at a Christian school in Nashville, Amazon leadership told employees it stands with the transgender community. It appears the initial message is, at least in part, a response to the mass murder, implying the trans community has been victimized, not the Christians who were murdered.
CBS News bars the word “transgender” when referring to the killer Hale.
Top executives at CBS News have banned staffers from using the word “transgender” when reporting on the Nashville shooter — despite the fact that police have said Audrey Hale was just that and cited it as a key point in the case, The Post has learned.
“The shooter’s gender identity has not been confirmed by CBS News,” the network’s executives insisted in a Tuesday memo obtained by The Post. “As such, we should avoid any mention of it as it has no known relevance to the crime. Should that change, we can and will revisit.”
The CBS News directive was delivered on a Tuesday morning editorial call by Ingrid Ciprian-Matthews, the executive vice president of newsgathering, and Claudia Milne, the senior vice president of standards and practices, according to sources close to the Tiffany Network.
“Right now we advise saying: POLICE IDENTIFIED THE SUSPECT AS A 28-YEAR-OLD AUDREY HALE, WHO [sic] THEY SHOT AND KILLED AT THE SCENE,” the Tuesday memo said. “And move on to focus on other important points of the investigation, community and solutions.
I don’t recall such an outpouring of sympathy for other shooting situations involving other identities. There was considerable consternation when this connection arose
It’s been reported that Hale was under a doctor’s care for an “emotional disorder.” I want to know if Hale was being prescribed medication- SSRI’s in particular. They have been linked to other shootings in the past, as has mental illness itself.
I also want to know who bought the 7 guns Hale was in possession of. Was it Aiden Hale or Audrey Hale?
And let’s not forget- trans people “shape our nation’s soul”, according to Biden. They are the real victims in this tragedy, not the 6 dead Christians. And it’s still not a hate crime.
