There were some that were quite clear in their intentions to destroy the private health care insurance industry and go to a [government run] single payer system prior to the enactment of the ACA. That is the ultimate goal, and anyone who doesn’t see that is blind.
I agree the enactment process was unconstitutional. But even though voters marched on D.C. and gave elections to Republicans in record numbers, in both the federal, and the state houses in 2010, the water of the Potomac is an exotic elixir that seems to cause adults to lose all common sense.
Because there are two sides of the GOP now, Smorg; the old guard establishment side (McConnell, Boehner, McCain, Graham, pushed by Karl Rove and Grover Norquist) and the young guns (Paul, Lee, Cruz and a few others) that are in battle for the hearts and minds of the conservative base.
Little by little, drip by drip, the Democrats have worked to destroy the private health care insurance industry. There is virtually no market for that industry in the over 65 age group, when people should require health care insurance more than ever. Why? Because the Democrat Congress passed a law that makes Medicare your primary insurer once you reach 65 and if you do have secondary insurance, it is only required to cover the difference between what Medicare pays and what is considered “Reasonable and Customary”, limits set by the AMA which was in bed with Democrats.
Now, Obama is pushing a program called “Smart Growth” which is simply an Agenda 21 plan to shove more and more people into the metropolitan areas.
How do you control the masses? You control their actions; where they live, what health care they get, what they are allowed to eat and drink, how much water can their toilets hold, how much power they are allowed to use with smart meters, how much they can make with progressive tax rates, all to redistribute the wealth for a socialist utopia that will not work, has never worked where ever it was tried and only leads to the deaths of millions.
The difference between the progressives and conservatives is that conservatives believe in equal opportunity. The progressives believe in equal outcome. But there really is no such thing as equal outcome as there will always be the select few who have to run the programs that guarantee equal outcome and they, themselves, will be exempt from the rules. Two reasons why Oregon hired 400 part-timers as opposed to 250 full timers.
1. No ObamaCare coverage if a worker is less than 30 hours a week.
2. This way the workers would be paid for by the exchange’s emergency backup budget and would not cost any extra money.

So now you should realize (if you didn’t already) exactly why Obama unconstitutionally delayed – without appropriate legislation to allow it – the employer mandate of obamacare until after the 2014 elections. If the government estimate in 2010 was that 69% of employer insurance policies would be cancelled because of obamacare requirements – thus throwing an estimated 41 million people onto the obamacare (nonfunctioning) exchanges – you can be damned sure it will end up being a much higher set of numbers. Having that happen prior to the 2014 elections would have led to a massacre of leftists in November.
So when someone repeatedly, stridently, unamibiguously and caught on multiple videos states unequivocably that “if you like your plan/doctor, you can keep them. PERIOD….” we have crystal clear evidence – not to mention the surprisingly frank (though dismissive) admission of guilt by the perpetrator in chief – that such comments are never, ever to be considered truthful, reliable or based in reality when being uttered by a leftist.
There is no defending what Obama and his leftist cabal of thugs have done with any shred of integrity. The entire obamacare structure is based on absolute lies. “In a hypothetical calculation, Mr. Gornto said, an employee who earned $25,000 annually for 40 years could retire with a 20-year payout of $2,297 a month under the Alternate Plan. Under the same circumstances, an employee making $125,000 annually could retire with a payout of $11,490 a month.
Social Security benefits change depending on the yearly adjustment for inflation, the year of retirement, and the age of the worker. But at a maximum, a worker who retires in 2011 at age 66 could receive $2,366 a month in Social Security benefits.”
The problem with the equation between the Alternate Plan and Social Security is that the example of an employee who earns an average of $25,000/yr for 40 years will receive a payout of $2,297/month but in order for someone to get a monthly Social Security payout of $2,336 they would have had to be a top earner, who earned more than the amount that was taxable.
Also, with the Alternate Plan, the retirees are allowed to take a lump sum if they choose. They can also leave the balance in their accounts to their children, as an inheritance, just like any other investment, unlike Social Security which goes back to the government. It’s not a redistribution of wealth plan, it’s a real retirement plan.

Some of them might have found out that the death panels that Palin and others mentioned are in the bill. You have to read the bill to find out what is in the bill. I try to encourage younger people to start their own Wroth IRA. I have been drawing SS for three years, and know that if I could have put the amount I paid into SS, into an IRA instead, I would have several million dollars to live off of.

If a health care insurer ran in the red, consistently, like Medicare it would soon be put out of business. So what happens when more than 50% are living off the dole and less than 50% are picking up the tab? As I have mentioned several times, I am lousy at history, but if anyone with an open mind will look at how other countries were overthrown, some without a shot being fired, and compare those events to what is going on in America today, they are EXACTLY as they have been for other countries:
(1) obama wants a civilian security force as strong as the military.
(2) He is spending us into bankruptcy.
(3) He doesn’t want us to have guns.
(4) He wants to change the constitution.
(5) He is friendly with countries that hate us.
(6) He is friendly with Muslim countries.
(7) He is turning friendly countries against us.
(8) He wants other country’s laws to be used in our courts.
(9) He wants to sign different treaties that turn a lot of US authority over to the UN.
(10) He wants the public on government medical care so his people can decide who is take care of.
For those of you who follow the history of other countries (even you liberals), does any of the above sound familiar with any country that used to be a free country, and is now a dictatorship of some kind? These are just the ones I can think of now. I will let others add more if they want to.

@Smorgasbord: Smorg, I did some figuring a couple days ago, and I started paying in ‘the max’ each year in SS, in 1954 and paid the max in every year through 2002, and that totaled up to $89,000 plus my employer paid in the same amount. That does not count the medicare payments. Can you imagine how much that would be if all it had been put into my personal stock market account? I don’t know, but even if I had to pay all my medical expenses now, I’m pretty sure I would be a rich person without costing the government a dime. Have the socialists got it all screwed up, or what?

05, if you see my numbers just above, I paid in a little over $89 000, in my 48 years of paying into SS. If you double that (employer paid) it is $178,000. My wife and I have been drawing on it for 11years, and have drawn about $330,000 (that’s a rounded number)(if you include what I pay toward basic medicare it would be about $345,000), but imagine how much I could be getting if it had all been a private investment. I don’t think SS is a good deal, but then I get a good monthly payment for my wife and I.

As Clark Howard said, if a 15 year old will put $2,000 per year in a Wroth IRA for just 7 years, then leave it there, at age 65 they will have $1,000,000 in their account. That is from just $14,000. Starting early is the key ingredient. Parents should start their kids early.
I talked with a guy who said that the only thing he did that his dad told him to do was to put 30% of his check into a retirement account, and he retired at age 50. I have talked to several people with similar stories. I wish I had heard of the philosophy of what I call, “working for retirement”. We can choose to live the better life as we go through our working career, or after we retire. Most of us have to adjust to a lower income after we retire because we didn’t, “work to retire”.
The two main things I try to teach the youth, (1) Get the best education for what you want to do. A college education may not be needed for what you want to do. (2) Figure on Social Security not being their when you retire. Put money away now so you can retire at an age you choose.

Would you rather have a bankrupt government decide what kind of medical care you get, or if you get any at all? In Canada and other countries who run their own medical programs, an elective test that a doctor wants to take can be a 9 month wait. By then, if there is something wrong, it has had 9 extra months to get worse. How long will it take under obamacare? Doctors and hospitals are dropping out of it.
Canada also does a constant analysis. If it costs too much to treat a patient, they don’t get treated. I have read many stories over the years where family members complained that the system just let there loved one die. It’s one thing to die protecting your country. Are you willing to die because it would cost your country too much to keep you alive? It has been found out that in the obamacare bill there are people who will try to convince you that it is better to commit suicide than to cost your country as much as it would cost to keep you alive. It has been rumored that they were there, but the ones who ACTUALLY read the bill say they is in the bill, along with the committee who will decide whether to treat you or not without even seeing you. Do you trust your government enough to let them make that decision for you? I don’t, and I never will.
Remember the woman who has stage 4 cancer, and her insurance company has no maximum, and they have paid 2-3 million dollars on her, and would pay millions more, except that her policy was cancelled because of obamacare? Will obamacare pay the millions more to treat her that her private insurance company would have?
Shouldn’t you have a CHOICE whether to leave a private insurance company or sign up for obamacare? If your insurance company hasn’t told you that yours will be cancelled, just wait. If yours is under your employer, they will have to decide whether to keep the plan AND pay the penalty 6% or 8% penalty for not signing up. Do you think your company will do that? If they do, and the competition doesn’t, then your company’s products will be 6-8% higher than they were before, and your competition’s will be at the same price. Will customers pay 6-8% more for your companies products?

It is and has been working fine in Massachusetts for 5 years, And from what I hear reps love the part D laws they passed that was a bigger mess than the ACA website but you have a problem with the ACA law?
