Democrats Jumping The ObamaCare Ship?

obamacare ship

Techs are trying to fix the ObamaCare website but as they fix it they find more and more problems…and what do vulnerable Democrats have to say about it?

You got 53 days before all bets are off:

At the pleading of senior White House officials, Senate Democrats are holding off on demands to delay major aspects of the health care law until the Obama administration has the opportunity to fix the website problems that are thwarting enrollment in the program.

…Sen. Chris Coons (D-Del.), who attended a tense two-hour meeting with President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden on Wednesday over the issue, stressed that senators should give the administration just “a little bit” of breathing room. …

Already, Sen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.) is preparing legislation to extend the enrollment period beyond March 31, and Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-La.) has offered a bill to allow consumers to keep their existing coverage. Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) unveiled bipartisan legislation Thursday with Sen. Mark Kirk (R-Ill.) to delay for one year the penalties if consumers do not comply with the individual mandate. Unlike Shaheen and Landrieu, Manchin does not face reelection next year. …

One senior Senate Democratic aide predicted that no action on the law would be taken before the end of the year but added that all bets are off if the problems extend into 2014.

How many of you think this will be solved by then? How many more stories about all these cancelled polices will come out between now and then?

After the Virginia race which was much closer then ever imagined because of the ObamaCare debacle I’m betting many of these Democrats will be jumping ship sooner rather than later.

So it’s hitting the fan and now our president wants to change the law that we were told just a few weeks ago couldn’t be changed.

These Dems only care now because they see it possibly affecting their re-election chances. NO ONE bothered to read the law and stop this mess from happening on the Dems side. The lies they told are neck deep from Obama to Biden to Pelosi, they’ve stepped in it. Only now when its apparent they will pay a price do they want to do something to appease some people so they can keep their jobs. This is not leadership, it’s a collective knee jerk. This from the smartest most transparent administration ever. That’s just another lie to add to the pile.

@This one:

MAP: The 5 Million People The GOP Cut Out Of Obamacare

Only a sick mind would consider not increasing welfare rolls a bad thing.

I think there will be a lot of posturing by Democrats up for election next year, but mostly in a CYA attempt. I put together a few thoughts on that here:

http://proof-proofpositive.blogspot.com/2013/11/nervous-democrat-senators-up-for-re.html

How many of you think this will be solved by then?

The democrats fix things like Microsoft Windows fixes things. I don’t know if Windows still does it this way. I went to an Apple years ago. Windows puts patches in programs to fix problems that they find. All operating systems do this, except that all of the others completely rewrite there programs as needed, and incorporate the patches into them. That is why it sometimes takes a long to to install an update. You are downloading the entire new operating system. I compare it to patching a tire. You can only patch it so many times before you have to replace it.

The democrats are patchers. They seem to think that any lousy program can be patched, and that they can get a few more miles out of it, when sometimes, you just have to replace the tire before it blows.

If you think it is bad now, wait until the obamatire blows.

@retire05: Where do you get that it’s welfare, you moron?

“Felons” as Navigators for Ofraudcare?? Oh, just wait until the Good Doctors “jump ship” and they hire “felons” as Doctors…

I have to wonder if this colossal failure built on Lies and more Lies even resonates with those who voted this fraud in….TWICE….AND voted under false pretenses LIES…from this frauds mouth….as the Lies are becoming more apparent….especially to the..

….”Feel Good” pantie waste Liberals and Democrats…with nothing but “mush” and propaganda between the ears…

Remember Pelosi’s PUSH (to Vote) for this LIE??

The witch never even read the Bill…BUT!! According to her… “we “had” to pass it to see what’s in it”….

Remember the ‘back room’ deals in order to “buy” votes to Pass this apparent Lie?? Back room deals to pass this should have been everyone’s FIRST CLUE there was something amiss.

Remember Harry Reids offensive comments over and over again about the evil Tea Party…who rejected this whole notion of Government run health care??

Remember these two, Pelosi and Harry Reid continually demonizing those ‘evil’ Republicans who saw through the LIES and DID NOT VOTE FOR THIS now FAILURE??? Because they didn’t believe Government should be in the Role of dictating Americans Health Care ???

The Socialist Demorats all voted for this disaster they ALL OWN THIS !!

If this Obamanation is not a wake up call to all Americans particularly to those on the Left ….then we are truly lost…

@#6 This one – Seriously?? Anything “socialized” is considered “welfare”….get with the program..

@FAITH7: 7

The witch never even read the Bill….

NOBODY READ THE BILL BEFORE IT WAS VOTED ON. I was there the day before they voted on it. They were still working on the bill into the night.

One good thing about the obamacare bill is that most of the individuals, propaganda media, and union members who encouraged their politicians to vote for it will be in it. They really don’t have any right to complain, since they asked for it.

@This one:
Hey clueless one, what do you think medicaid is?

Do not let the republicans delay it now. They were called hostage takers, extremists, and terrorists when they attempted it last time. Do not delay it until after the 14 elections. Remind all of the democratic media complex that this is “the law of the land” and to live with it. Feel the math! Imagine how well the government will deliver health care knowing how well they can run a website.

Sibelius said no changes.

Okie dokie

@Mully: Hey hater, it’s not ‘welfare.’

@FAITH7: “…pantie waste? EW! Looks like it’s you who has ‘nothing but “mush” between the ears…” (It’s ‘panty waist’)

Did it ever occur to anyone that Obamacare was designed to fail? That this administration is so corrupt, so devious, that it will use its own failure to try to implement single-payer health care? Medicaid enrollment is up around 1.5 million, with 25 people in Maryland enrolling in Medicaid for every person enrolling in the “Obamacare” plans. And every one of those new Medicaid enrollees are being asked to register to vote, no photo I.D. or proof of birth required.

The early findings of an ongoing review of the Illinois Medicaid program revealed that half the people enrolled weren’t even eligible.

The state insisted it’s not that bad but Medicaid is on the federal government’s own list of programs at high risk of waste and abuse.

Now, a review of the Illinois Medicaid program confirms massive waste and fraud.

A review was ordered more than a year ago– because of concerns about waste and abuse. So far, the state says reviewers have examined roughly 712-thousand people enrolled in Medicaid, and found that 357-thousand, or about half of them shouldn’t have received benefits. After further review, the state decided that the percentage of people who didn’t qualify was actually about one out of four.
“It says that we’ve had a system that is dysfunctional. Once people got on the rolls, there wasn’t the will or the means to get them off,” said Senator Bill Haines of Alton.

A state spokesman insists that the percentage of unqualified recipients will continue to drop dramatically as the review continues because the beginning of the process focused on the people that were most likely to be unqualified for those benefits. But regardless of how it ends, critics say it’s proof that Illinois has done a poor job of protecting tax payers money.”

This is Cloward and Piven. Break the system, tear it down, and rebuilt it with what is more desirable under Socialist ideology. How many of those 24 in every 25 people in Maryland were not aware they were eligible for Medicaid before? But they are eligible now?

@retire05: We should not be surprised.
Remember when Obama was advertizing Food Stamps?
Those gov’t workers whose job it was to review applications and get EBT cards to new enrollees were given less than 2 minutes to review the facts put on the applications!
You can’t even run a background check on a computer in 2 minutes!
You are a rubber stamp.
The fraud in EBT was getting massive before these cuts that just became law…..let’s see if the law is enforced.
Cloward – Pivin is one of Obama’s strategies to transform America.

@This one: It is. Medicaid is healthcare “welfare”. Grow up, get some experience/education in life, and stop bothering the adults trying to make good decisions for the country. The Dems rely on a ignorant army of zealous idiots like you.

@This one:

So I suppose EBT is not welfare either? Medicaid IS welfare. Transfers of wealth whether it be for food, housing or medical care are all forms of welfare. Your education seems to sorely be lacking.

From dictionary.com.. http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/welfare?s=t Look at number 3. “Financial or OTHER assistance”. Medicaid falls under that definition. Medicaid is financial aid as the poor get medical services paid for by others. Which benefits their welfare. See number 1 in definition. DOH!

I don’t hate you. I wouldn’t waste my time hating you or anyone else. I just feel sad for you when I see your posts.

Again you show your clueless ability knows no bounds. But then again I shouldn’t be surprised you haven’t acquainted yourself with a common dictionary.

@Nathan Blue: @Mully:

You’re wasting your energy trying to explain anything to “this one.” He/she only know what is put out at OFA which uses radical left wing websites to proclaim their gospel. If it wasn’t for those web sites, this one would be unable to post anything.

If you want to get really technical, Medicare is just as much a welfare program as Medicaid. Oh, there are those who will shout “But I paid for my Medicare all those years.” No, you paid a tax, levied against your wages, for money that was dumped into the general fund and spent years ago. Now, you are being given a benefit on an investment that is long gone due to the sham artists in D.C. The same is true with unemployment insurance. If your payments into Medicare/Unemployment insurance was truly insurance payments, you would have known exactly what you were buying. If it were a savings account, put into the Bank of Government for future needs, with the Bank of Government guaranteeing you a return on your investment, and you have never collected unemployment benefits, are you not entitled to your initial investment? Instead, your benefits are left up to the whims of a few elected bureaucrats in Washington.

Medicare and Unemployment deductions were never considered insurance premiums. They were determined to be a tax by FDRs lawyers and the SCOTUS, and that is how John Roberts came to his decision.

@retire05: I assume he’s a paid troll, but sometimes I think it wise to engage if for no other reason to shine light on the ignorance.

Medicare and Unemployment deductions were never considered insurance premiums. They were determined to be a tax by FDRs lawyers and the SCOTUS, and that is how John Roberts came to his decision.

Could you write more on this? I’ve never understood Roberts decision about Obamacare, and would like to know how it stood.

Of course it was set up to fail. That is why 3 years worth of bail outs to the insurance companies were written into the law. At the end of the 3 years, the US subjects will be crying out for single payer (government). Why the insurance companies decided to end their business is beyond my thinking, hoping the alligator eats them last or some such. If you think what the IRS scandal has revealed is startling, wait until you need health care and it is discovered that you did not vote correctly. This is about control and nothing else.

@Nathan Blue:

When FDR was setting up the Ponzi Scheme he called “Social” Security, he was advised that it was illegal for the U.S. government to sell insurance. So when the program wound up in the SCOTUS, that FDR threatened to stack to 15 justices if he didn’t get his way, the government lawyers argued that the payroll deductions were a tax, permissible under the Congress’ ability to levy taxes, and not insurance premiums.

I believe John Roberts used this logic to declare Obamascare legal. You are required to purchase a product, and if you fail to do so, you will be fined. In this case, the fine is simply a tax that will go into the general revenue of the U.S. Treasury, just as it did with Social Security.

I will try to find you an article that addresses this very history.

@Nathan Blue:

Please, do not mistake this as an endorsement of Lew Rockwell, as I personally think he is a slug, but it was the (one of the) best and quickest articles I could find on how FDR shoved Social Security on the American people.

Is Social Security Constitutional?

I believe that John Roberts used that SCOTUS decision to claim that Obamascare was Constitutional. Remember, the Obama administration, and the Democrat Congress, argued that Obamascare was NOT a tax, yet when it got to the SCOTUS, the administration’s lawyers argued just the opposite. It was a replay of the 1937 case against Social Security.

There are lots of articles written about the Social Security Act and its unconstitutionality. And are easily found using your search engine.

@Thisone #14 – Yea, you are right – Oh, and I’m so ‘hurt’ by that counter mush “Attack” …. I am sure I was thinking what a WASTE Liberals are when I wrote that….so, yea, I should have ‘just wrote’ “WASTE” (as in the most foul kind of waste), Or, like a Liberal shitting on a Police car in NYC Waste….ewwww – yea, now that about sums up the LIBERAL BASE of the Ofraud for me…now that would have been more appropriate….probably a better analogy…

@Retired05# 23 –

And, sadly, wasn’t that Social “Security” to be ‘used’ appropriately…as in – to “insure” people – the Retired Elderly Mainly… to ensure they would not ‘have to worry’ when they come of (Retirement) age…that they after working all their adult lives would not have to worry about their income and be able to enjoy stability in their lives in retirement years??

SS also applied to a family in the event of having their income disrupted by some unforeseeable event… loss of parent (for children) or head of household…

Another devastating “Government Promise Lie”.

The social “security” promise for Americans “paying into the system for YEARS” has been flagrantly squandered by a Government who lacks accountability…a Government who “promised” stability in every Americans Old Age.

Another reason not to count on nor to “trust” Government… “especially” with “your” hard earned dollars…

Why are Democrats worried? They can ALWAYS depend upon the betrayal of conservative Republican candidates by their own Party elders!

@This one:

Showing off just what a caricature arrogant and ignorant leftist blowhard you are…

You call someone a moron for disagreeing with you, then later on call them a ‘hater’.

Faith, you have to remember the state of the nation in 1936-37. FDR had campaigned on not doing all the wrong things that Hoover had done, yet when in office, FDR just followed in Hoover’s footsteps. The Great Depression had drug on for over four long years, and people were scared to death. FDR was campaigning for re-election and the mood of the nation was beginning to turn against him because we were still in such dire straits. With young people unemployed, the older voters were afraid they would never get a job. Add into the mix the Dust Bowl, where farmers could no longer hold on and even grow enough food for their own kitchen tables.

So, like Obama does now, FDR promised the populace something for [basically] free. They would pay taxes into a fund that would protect them from abstract poverty in their senior years and make sure that widows and children were taken care of. It was never designed to work, at least not from an economic point of view, it was a gimmick to win votes as FDRs population was diminishing.

Even then, not all citizens were covered. Blacks, for example, were excluded.

The first person to receive monthly Social Security checks was Ida Mae Fuller. Ms. Fuller paid into the SS coffers for three years when she retired, paying in a total of $24.75. She lived to be 100, eventually collecting a total of $22,888.75 by the time of her death. No program, no matter how well received, can sustain that kind of payout.

A number of counties, including Galveston County, Texas, refused to subscribe to the Social Security system and developed their own retirement systems. The Democrat Congress promptly took care of that promptly passed a bill that would not permit any state from opting out. To this day, Galveston County employees do not pay into Social Security and their return is approx. 4 times what it would be under Social Security, as well as having survivor benefits that they can leave their children.

It is important to remember that when Democrats are telling you how they are going to take care of you, it is never out of their own wallet.

@Pete:

This one appears to be nothing more than a loser and a paid troll for OFA. I remember reading an article back in 2008 how the Obama campaign hired trolls to sit in their parents basements, using a computer to infiltrate conservative blogs and post positive messages about the Chicago WONder.

@FAITH7:

And Retire and everyone else on the Social Security fraud.

When that marxist-leaning, Keynesian-enamored, bastard FDR pushed the ponzi scheme of social security upon us, the number of workers paying into the scam was estimated at IIRC 35 people for everyone who actually got paid any benefits…and IIRC the average life expectancy at the time SS was forced upon us was less than the age at which people would be paid benefits. It was especially egregious against blacks, as they paid into the system but had a significantly lower average life expectancy than what was required to receive payments.

Today, it is estimated that there are barely 3 people paying into the SS pyramid scam for each person receiving benefits, and that what you pay in over the years of your working career is barely a 1% return on investment.

Nothing leftists do is ever for the true benefit of the country. It is ALWAYS about grabbing more power and control for themselves, and further enslaving the masses to the self-appointed leftist aristocracy.

@retire05: Much obliged!

@Pete:

It was especially egregious against blacks, as they paid into the system but had a significantly lower average life expectancy than what was required to receive payments.

In 1936, when the age limits were set, the average life span of a white woman was around 60, a while male around 58, a black male was between 48-51. People were not expected to live long enough to collect benefits, and if they did, it would not be but for a few short years. It was not an accident that the Democrat Congress/President set retirement age at 65 for full benefits.

Now people are living longer than ever, something those “visionaries” never counted on, due to the medical system that Obama seems to want to destroy. Think about it; reduce the quality of health care under the Cloward-Piven system (by overloading it), and you reduce the number of people who live long enough to take out more than they put into the SS system.

And after years of telling us that SS will always be there, we are learning the system is virtually broke. So what is the answer to the brilliance of our medical professionals and drug manufacturers? Break the promise that at age 65 you will collect full benefits and raise the age limit, which they already did for anyone born in 1950 or after. Now they want to raise the age limit again with 70 being discussed. Keep raising the age requirement until you eliminate most of the recipients to keep the program viable. Oh, and apply federal income taxes to the benefits as well so that a married couple both drawing full benefits will have to send part of that back to the federal coffers.

Yeah, Social Security is a great example of Social Engineering that doesn’t work.

Of course the only way SS is still in business is because general tax funds are used to pay what SS income does not cover. Just a distribution of wealth, just one of the secular progressives plans.

#30 and Pete @32 – how silly of me, if even for an instant to venture to believe that something like SS was truly there to help those who put so much into the building of, and those who continued to contribute to the economic soundness and success of this country by virtue of their hard work…and their Taxes…

How in the world could I even THINK there would be any kind of benevolence toward the same from a socialist Democratic Government who started way back then promising Lying to their faces about “their” money and their ‘future’….

Thank you friends for setting me on the correct path back to reality….

@FAITH7:

Few know the history of SS and why it was created in the first place. Nor do they know, and understand, that there were a number of Stalinists (Communist supporters) in the FDR administration. But the move to disavow the U.S. Constitution goes back even further than that with the election of Woodrow Wilson, elitist academic who thought anyone not as educated as himself, or his cronies, had the right to determine the own lives, and a true racist, too boot. Wilson, like his predecessor FDR, thought the Constitution was outdated and needed to be ignored whenever possible. In my mind, Woodrow Wilson was an evil man.

The real history about Wilson, FDR and even Theo. Roosevelt, would cause your stomach to churn.

For good, or for evil, they were leaders. Unlike what we have now, men/women backed by other, groups that want to see our nation change into a society that has failed everywhere it has been tried. Remember this; Socialism only benefits the politburo, never for the proletariat.

@retire05/Pete – I found this on an App – The link (I can’t embed) is to a 13:37 min video (Leftist Propaganda I am sure) titled:

Notice the title says “orientation for taxpayers”…I am not sure of the date (1948-50 I’m guessing) I do know it is old black and white…but it is also very interesting and very “slick” to see how SS was “sold” through this and probably other propaganda clips like it to the American Public… yes, I must say the socialists/communists were very “slick” about it…even back then… I wonder if all the ‘actors’ and ‘actresses’ in the clip were actually communists…”useful idiots”…

Did it ever occur to anyone that Obamacare was designed to fail? That this administration is so corrupt, so devious, that it will use its own failure to try to implement single-payer health care?

There were a few republican politicians who actually read the original proposed bill, and they said from the beginning that most of the people would be dropped off of their present insurance, and have to go on obamacare. That tells me that it was planned as a single payer program from the start, just like obama said he wanted.

@Smorgasbord: I’m one of those that believe it was designed to fail.

@retire05: #24
If obamacare stands as a tax, then the bill is voided, because ALL revenue bills must originate in the house, and this originated in the senate. I suggest all concerned citizens contact their federal reps and ask them to VOID obamacare for that reason. Why isn’t the republican party doing this? Could it be because there is no longer a republican party?

I forget what the average lifespan was when Social Security was created, but it was in the 50s. The retirement age was set at 65 to make sure there was a lot more money coming in than going out. When SS started, people of a certain age could pay a certain amount (I don’t remember how much), and get SS for the rest of their life. Even people with plenty of money could pay in and get the SS money from then on. This meant that SS had a lot of money going out right from the beginning.

As I have mentioned before, if a 15 year old can put $2,000 per year in a Wroth IRA for 7 years, when the kid reaches age 65, if the stock market averages what it has from its start until then, there will be #1,000,000 in the account for a $14,000 investment. If the government really wants to insure we have a decent retirement, all they have to do is to pass a law says that each person will start an individual retirement account, and can’t touch it until a certain age, death, or serious illness. If the person dies before retirement age, the beneficiary gets the money.

When politicians keep coming up with more ways to give OUR SS money to people like the illegals, it is easy to see that they no longer care about WE THE PEOPLE. They only care about getting votes.

@retire05: #30

A number of counties, including Galveston County, Texas, refused to subscribe to the Social Security system and developed their own retirement systems.

The ones who worked there long enough are getting higher retirement checks than their paychecks. Imagine retiring and having to live on MORE money than you were getting while working, and also knowing that if you died before retirement age, your family got the money, not the government. I know the liberals don’t like that kind of system, because we are all supposed to be equal.
