Would you trust thousands of low-level Federal bureaucrats and contractors with one-touch access to your private financial and medical information? Under Obamacare you won’t have any choice.
As the Obamacare train-wreck begins to gather steam, there is increasing concern in Congress over something called the Federal Data Services Hub. The Data Hub is a comprehensive database of personal information being established by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to implement the federally facilitated health insurance exchanges. The purpose of the Data Hub, according to a June 2013 Government Accountability Office (GAO) report, is to provide “electronic, near real-time access to federal data” and “access to state and third party data sources needed to verify consumer-eligibility information.” In these days of secret domestic surveillance by the intelligence community, rogue IRS officials and state tax agencies using private information for political purposes, and police electronically logging every license plate that passes by, the idea of the centralized Data Hub is making lawmakers and citizens nervous.
They certainly should be; the potential for abuse is enormous. The massive, centralized database will include comprehensive personal information such as income and financial data, family size, citizenship and immigration status, incarceration status, social security numbers, and private health information. It will compile dossiers based on information obtained from the IRS, the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of Defense, the Veterans Administration, the Office of Personnel Management, the Social Security Administration, state Medicaid databases, and for some reason the Peace Corps. The Data Hub will provide web-based, one-stop shopping for prying into people’s personal affairs.
Marilyn Tavenner, head of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services says “I want to assure you and all Americans, that when they fill out their [health insurance] marketplace applications, they can trust the information they’re providing is protected.”
Baloney.
With the recent revelations of the abuse of power by the IRS how in the world would anyone believe this treasure trove of information will be protected. Hell, the GAO states that there will be “Navigators” that will use the database daily. Who are the “Navigators”?

Oh yeah, I get a warm fuzzy feeling for these Navigators….no shenanigans from these guys.

Indeed, they won’t even have to have high-school diplomas. Both U.S. Census Bureau and IRS employees must meet those minimum standards, if only because no one wants someone who has been convicted of identity theft getting near Americans’ personal records. But HHS is unconcerned. It points out that navigators will have to take a 20–30 hour online course about how the 1,200-page law works, which, given its demonstrated complexity, is like giving someone a first-aid course and then making him a med-school professor.

I was talking to a good friend today. She tried to switch hers dad’s neurosurgeon. She contacted six other neurosurgeons and all six said they were no longer taking Medicare patients because of Obamacare. A senior I was talking to today was just told today he is going to have to wait over a month to see his doctor about hip pain he began experiencing. He’s never had to wait that long. My insurance has gone up and my plan will be dropped after the first of the year because of Obamacare. The amazing part is that the sheep still come here telling us how the reality people are experiencing isn’t so. It’ll be no different with this.

I am a physician. I know how pathetic medicare reimbursement is. I understand why my outpatient colleagues refuse to accept new Medicaid and Medicare patients. I know n how little the government told us Medicare and Medicaid would cost over time, so don’t waste time trying to convince me that Obamacare is going to fix anything from a cost standpoint. I KNOW it is all leftist lies.
The very day Christine O’Donnell, the former Tea Party–backed Senate candidate from Delaware, announced her 2010 Senate bid, O’Donnell said, the IRS erroneously issued a tax lien against her on a home she didn’t own anymore, which held that she owed the government $12,000.
While the IRS later admitted that the lien was an error, her flawed record was somehow accessed by an employee in the Delaware tax-collection office and released to the media.
Years later and damage done, investigators from the Treasury inspector general’s office notified O’Donnell that her tax information may have been illegally accessed, but they did not pursue the matter further.
As we know other candidates and donors had their IRS records accessed and used inappropriately during the campaign season as well.
Remember it was a leftist organization, Pro Publica, which admitted to having some of these early on in the IRS scandal.
Now multiply that by thousands of ”navigators” who may or may not be honest or even share decent values at all with access to all your records, financial AND medical, and it is a recipe for yellow journalism the likes of which this nation has never seen.

Obamacare is much more intrusive than most of us can imagine. I’ve looked at the bill and almost needed CPR after reading a few of the stipulations. I admit as a physician I am really hot on the topic- but I am following the financial reprocussions first hand. People ask me what I think Obamacare will do to medicine. Your first link is a rather generic response to a complicated issue. No substance of real value in the article. It’s like reading a sales brochure.
The other two state; “to drive down cost” and “to cut cost” are purely conjecture. Not actually facts as you could perhaps see if you even read some of the comments on those article on that site.
Fact is you don’t really know what you think you know and then post it here.

“Doctors For America” as the source of your first piece of drivel is contemptible propaganda. That organization is a leftwing shill group that started out in 2008-2009 under the name “Doctors for Obama”. These are the same leftists who try to brainwash medical students (who don’t have any experience with providing medical care as they are still learning basic physiology, anatomy and the like) into believing that health care is a right that only the government can ensure is dispensed “equally” (as determined by leftist asshats like Ezekiel Emmanuel, MD). So pardon me for not believing anything that organization has to say as they are clearly a socialist propaganda group.

Your third reference is a HuffPo piece of arglbargle trumpeting an Obama administration study claiming insurance rates will go down for some people. Again, after Obama lied and said “If you like your doctor and your insurance plan, you can keep them”, and “Insurance premiums will go down by 3000% under my plan”, why on earth would any sane person believe anything this administration says about Obamacare when everything they have said thus far has been so blazingly WRONG? That requires a special level of stratospheric stupidity to accept such obviously impossible claims as anything other than more leftist propaganda.
Your fourth reference also comes from HuffPo, and the same critique applies.
There are some simple, basic facts about Obamacare/socialist takeover of health care that if you have any intellectual integrity you have to ask for yourself.
1. If there really are 30-50 million uninsured citizens in the US, how does adding 15,000 new IRS agents but not ONE SINGLE new physician do anything to provide health care to these alleged uninsured?
2. If physicians are forced to refuse to accept new Medicare/Medicaid patients because the government reimbursement is less than what it costs the doctor to see and treat the patient, how does adding even more people to the government “insurance” pool do anything to get physicians to see and treat them? Are you really going to push for additional laws that turn doctors into slaves by forcing us to accept government insured patients? How long do you think doctors will stay in business if that happens?
3. Every single country that has socialist health care RATIONS the health care resources. That is a FACT that you cannot ignore if you have a shred of decency. The propaganda that US health care is of lesser quality based on infant mortality rates is vile and shows the left has no integrity. Do you know that the US is the only country that calls every infant born with a heartbeat a livebirth? Most countries with socialist health care systems do not count an infant as “liveborn” until it lives beyond some arbitrary date, either discharge to home, 30 days, or some other number that results in them artificially decreasing their infant mortality rates. We try to save babies as young as 23 weeks, at the limit of viability. Most other countries with socialist health care systems will not try until 25 weeks. So stuff your leftist drivel.
4. The US has the highest 5 year cancer survival rates of any country in the world.

“Executive B” in the report, traveled to Washington, D.C. a total of 282 days in Fiscal Year 2012, claiming almost $127,000 in travel costs. (That’s $450/day)

And, as per how the IRS works, a new guideline came out just before this report did:
A “new policy that restricts Executives from being in travel status more than 75 nights in any fiscal year.”
But as with most things in government, exceptions to that policy can be approved by the head of the IRS.
