Never interfere with an enemy while he’s in the process of destroying himself

Haley Barbour once said

You know, Napoleon said ‘Never interfere with an enemy while he’s in the process of destroying himself.’

Which apparently derives from the Napoleon quote:

“…when the enemy is making a false movement we must take good care not to interrupt him.”

To paraphrase Mark Twain, I have read the obituaries and reports of the death of the GOP are premature. The prospects for GOP control of not just the House, but all of Congress, are brightening daily because of two ongoing themes: gun control and Obamacare. The damage is self-inflicted.

Gun control is causing gastric reflux for many democrats. Obama is urging them not to get “squishy.” Demcorat fears of GOP control are rising:

Republicans increasingly see the Senate majority as being in play in 2014.

Democrats are defending 20 seats, including seven in states President Obama lost in the last election, and they have seen five of their incumbents retire, raising their bar for holding the upper chamber.

Republicans would have to win six seats to take over the Senate, a sizable number. But in a midterm election year — when a president’s party historically loses congressional seats — GOP confidence is growing.

“The playing field is shaping up to be a positive one for Republicans in 2014,” National Republican Senatorial Committee spokesman Brad Dayspring said. Retirements by Democrats such as Sen. Tim Johnson (S.D.), who formally announced Tuesday he would leave the Senate at the end of this term, are helping the GOP, he said.

Dayspring acknowledged winning the Senate won’t be easy: Republicans must get “consensus candidates” and make sure they are ready for battle. In 2012, the GOP entered the election cycle thinking it would win the upper chamber and failed, partly because of flawed candidates.

But he said things are shaping up well for the party this time.

“The playing field and weather conditions are great for us. Now we have to go out and execute,” he said.

An assault weapons ban would not even pass the democrat-controlled Senate. Harry Reid agreed to adding a AW ban only as an amendment to a larger bill.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) this week decided to remove the ban from firearms legislation scheduled for the floor. However, he has promised Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) a floor vote on her assault weapons amendment.

Reid said Tuesday the proposal would not muster 40 votes, and interviews with rank-and-file lawmakers show that seems accurate.

A wave of Democratic defections on the assault weapons ban would not sit well with gun-control and liberal advocacy groups. They warn Democratic senators who vote to kill one of President Obama’s biggest priorities will suffer political repercussions.

Yet Obama keeps ramping up the pressure.

And the Mayor of New York, Michael Bloomberg only adds to the fun when he seems to speak for democrat politicians:

“I do think there are certain times we should infringe on your freedom,”

Obamacare-pain-in-the-butt

The tsunami that is Obamacare is building and starting to take its toll. It will

Boost insurance costs.
Push millions off employer coverage.
Cause premiums to skyrocket.
Cost people their jobs.
Tax the middle class.
Add to the deficit.
Cost more than promised.
Be a bureaucratic nightmare.
Exacerbate doctor shortages.
Leave millions uninsured.

Obamacare will raise the cost of claims by 32%.

Obamacare costs are exploding.

A “glitch” in Obamacare will price millions of modest income Americans out of health care coverage.

Millions of Americans will be priced out of health insurance under President Barack Obama’s healthcare overhaul because of a glitch in the law that adversely affects people with modest incomes who cannot afford family coverage offered by their employers, a leading healthcare advocacy group said on Tuesday.

Tax credits are a key component of the law and the White House has said the credits, averaging about $4,000 apiece, will help about 18 million individuals and families pay for health insurance once the Affordable Care Act takes full effect, beginning in January 2014.

The tax credits are geared toward low and middle-income Americans who do not have access to affordable health insurance coverage through an employer. The law specifies that employer-sponsored insurance is affordable so long as a worker’s share of the premium does not exceed 9.5 percent of the worker’s household income.

In its rule making, or final interpretation of the law, the IRS said affordability should be based strictly on individual coverage costs, however.

That means that, even if family coverage through an employer-based plan far exceeds the 9.5 percent cutoff, workers would not be eligible for the tax credits to help buy insurance for children or non-working dependents.

And here comes the best part- Wasserman-Schultz reduced to having to beg the GOP for help in saving democrats from the monster they created.

“The way to improve this law and to address concerns that have come up with it is not to repeal it, not to throw it out, but to simply make modifications to it. It would be wonderful if we had Republican colleagues in our chamber, on the other side of the aisle, who were willing to sit down and do that.”

Pardon me while I ROFLMAO.

Well, we are starting to find out what’s in it and it gets uglier every day.

In some detachment from reality, Wasserman-Schultz tweeted her thanks to Obama for making health care affordable and was roasted.

The GOP should not sit down and work with democrats to amend Obamacare. They were shut out of the process, they were not afforded any input and they should not allow any changes. They should just let democrats stick Obamacare where the sun doesn’t shine. Barack Obama sees Obamacare as a great achievement but it could ultimately become the albatross of his legacy as the disaster unfolds.

The outlook is promising and the GOP plan is simple. Sit back and pass the popcorn.

Still complaining about Obama? The election is over, and Obama won. If you don’t concentrate of your own party (the conservative party), Hillary is going to win in 2016. Then you’re going to have to spend the next eight years complaining about her. Can you handle it?

@Liberal1 (Objectivity):

Is that what you want, Lib1? Another Alinsky Marxist (Hillary Clinton) in the Oval Office? Tell me, what do you think you will gain when you are living under a Marxist government?

@Liberal1 (Objectivity):

I appears that you didn’t read the same article that I did. While there were some mentions of Obama, including a prediction about Obamacare and his legacy, I didn’t see any complaining about Obama.

That just reinforces the idea that you read the headlines and are already thinking of what you are going to say while you “read” the article.

My former physician, having taken early retirement in November, turned my medical files over to the doctor taking over the practice. At our first appointment, the new MD spent half an hour fumbling with the computer entering ObamaNoCare data; he never got around to why I was there. On my second appointment, which was for a blood draw only, the doctor insisted I needed to see him as well. He was almost giddy, actually rubbing his hands together, when he joyfully told me that I would be seeing him 4 times a year under our “partnership”, because 4 visits a year were “covered” by insurance. When I complained that I was healthy and didn’t need him 4 times a year, his anxiety level rose with his voice, and he repeated that it “wouldn’t cost me anything”. I then told him that my employer was self-insured, and though soon to go on Medicare, I was not willing to spend my employer’s or taxpayer’s money unnecessarily. I left without entering an exam room, and am looking for a good old-fashioned capitalist physician who will charge me for what he does and will be there when I need him, not when he needs my copay. ObamaNoCare is a death knell for the doctor-patient relationship; it’s now more like one’s relationship with an IRS agent.

Do not ever forget the Moron liberal-leaning voters who want more redistribution, not less,more federal control, not less. They forget Obamacare, they forget that Dems hate our own domestic energy resources :oil, gas, coal, nuclear energy and Keystone and Anwar. They want food stamps not common sense. Liberals now think that the conservBASE in the GOP will collapse. They do not believe Evangelicals, or conservs or Libertarians will come our in force in the 3 special elections in 2013 and in 2014. They are awaiting Queen Hil after our Mussolini on the Potomac leaves with America in shambles. So, unless we want to see our American heritage,culture, history and values disappear , all groups who have supported the GOP better come out in force to un-elect Dems. Now, if the GOP betrays us, then frankly, the entire BASE should leave the so called moderate Rove like GOP and create a Conserv-Libertarian-Indie Party and that would become the 2nd party. Eventually, the GOP would disappear. But, for now, no excuses. Liberalism and the DNC must be defeated in the next elections coming up.

With respect, I believe the author is entirely off the mark. Where is the evidence that Obama is destroying himself? You mean, you project the Dems will lose seats in Congress…and thereby lose power in some ethereal way? They might. They might not. Until then, we can look forward to multiple executive orders, new commissions set up, and new agencies empaneled. This weekend, we have a new Federal election commission of some sort being set up via exec order. Obama is hedged, to put it into stock market terms. Should he perceive that the Dems will lose meaningful numbers of seats in the next election cycle, efforts to enfranchise illegals will redouble and he will make up the legislative shortfall that might arise from a loss of Dem seats with yes, more executive orders.

There is ample and repeated-example evidence of what I say. There is zero evidence of what the author suggests. Unless “hope” is your evidence.

Sit back and smugly count your chickens before they exist? To what end?

I don’t know if the RINO’s running the show have the fortitude to withstand the usual media pressure to help these leftists amend as needed their commie-Bama Care train wreck.

I do so hope the GOP continue to prove themselves irrelevant and intentional obstructionist for our economy until 2014 so the Dems can take both Houses and we can progress as a nation. Barring the usual cheating and gerrymandering of districts by the GOP, this will happen.

@twolaneflash: As was foretold! Wait to wneh ya meet up with the death panel.

@Liberal1 (Objectivity): Didn’t read the article, did you?

@John: Thanks for the heaping helping of violence, John. Perhaps you don’t see that danger in a small percentage of Americans–with immature views and overly active mouths–think it’s appropriate to make other points of view, especially the prevailing ones, “irrelevant”.

BTW – the whole “reps are now “irrelevant” was a rhetorical device used by the liberal media to help win votes. It won’t work forever, kid.

I just can’t wait until we are truly all equal and the government pays for everything. I know it will happen if only we have faith. Obama himself promised we would be able to get free medical attention, and in example after example, he’s gotten everything just about right so far! At least he tried, didn’t he? It should be pretty easy…just notify your local medical provider when you go out to work the rice fields in the morning, make sure you make quota, and a week or so later, at the very least, perhaps a medical student serving DearLeaderCare by working off his or her student loans for a few years will be able to see us. It should be only a short wait to see a licensed practitioner if it’s really, really necessary, and the cool thing about the waiting rooms are the solar-powered TVs tuned to MSNBC and the great songs all the people sing while they are patiently waiting their turn. I just love the lilting melodies! So uplifting! So inspiring! How could we have gone so long thinking we had a good medical system? This will be so much better! I never heard anyone singing songs in Doctors’ waiting rooms before. And to think those right wing Neanderthals thought this wasn’t progress! This man Obama is practically a deity, I don’t know how he can stand being around ordinary people…it’s really a measure of his vision. Everything he’s promised, he’s delivered on, and when you look around, it’s working so well. He deserves all the vacation time we can give him.

@John: You village is still looking for you…

@Budvarakbar:

You mean how the insurance companies before Obamacare were allowed to drop coverage and deny treatment? Oh, that’s gone thankfully!

@John:

Already one cannot have the most expensive and longest lasting prosthetic replacements if over 55 even if you want to pay for it yourself.

And you think there won’t be denial of treatment? Maybe the blue pill instead of the pacemaker for those over 90 as Obama already intimated?

@Liberal1 (Objectivity):
obama won because of massive voter fraud. Dead people, felons, illegals, foreign nationals, those voting more than once, voting machine manipulation ( e,g. 9 districts in PA had NOT ONE vote for Romney). Only now is the realization setting in. Even a NUN was arrested for voter fraud. The only way to curb this is to arrest and incarcerate their asses.

A _ unit
stop that sarcasm or ILL break your teeths,

@Liberal1 (Objectivity):
