You know, I was here — in Congress — in 2008 when we had the economic crisis. It was a terrible time. Millions of people lost their jobs. Trillions of dollars of wealth: gone.

That crisis caught us by surprise.

Let me ask you a question: what if your President, your Senator and your Congressman knew it was coming? What if they knew when it was going to happen, why it was going to happen and more importantly, what if they knew what they needed to do to stop it from happening and they had the time to stop it? But they chose to do nothing about it, because it wasn’t good politics?

What would you think of that person? It would be immoral.

This coming debt crisis is the most predictable crisis we’ve ever had in this country. And look what’s happening.

This is why we’re acting. This is why we’re leading. This is why we’re proposing – and passing out of the House – a budget to fix this problem: so we can save our country for ourselves and our children’s future.

A powerful message, but Obama released a propaganda movie last night, explaining how bad everything would be if he had not been there to guide the country through the ongoing disasters brought on by his Progressive Marxist policies.

Send this message to everyone on your email list and ask them to do the same. We need to mobilize and spread the word or watch the country be destroyed, right in front of us.

‘That crisis caught us by surprise.’
Who is ‘us’? Many people were unsurprised by the crisis. Here’s a prediction from 2003:
‘The special privileges granted to Fannie and Freddie have distorted the housing market by allowing them to attract capital that they could not attract under pure market conditions. Like all artificially created bubbles, the boom in housing prices cannot last forever. When housing prices fall, homeowners will experience difficulty as their equity is wiped out. Furthermore, the holders of the mortgage debt will also have a loss. These losses will be greater than they would have otherwise been had government policy not actively encouraged over-investment in housing, the damage will be catastrophic.
Emphasis mine and no points for guessing who said it. I like Paul Ryan, I think he’s courageous and honest, but if he was really surprised by the crisis he needs better advisers.

Nothing but a set up dog and pony show for when Romney asks him to be his running mate. Other then that bbartlog said everything I would have said. Zero Hedge has some good info going about a CBO whistle blower telling how it is run and how absolutely in the tank to protect the Establishment of both parties they are.

Eventually the reckoning is coming and it is not going to be pretty when it does.

All his does is ask the question. But he doesn’t answer it. He leaves that to you—depending on your biases.

An Adult:

Perhaps the budget is his answer, genius.

By the way, despite what your friends have told you, that foam on your jaw is not normal. Seek medical attention.

I question why it is NOW at this very time, is it so very important for the Liberal/Democratic/Left in the White House to be so utterly focused on such Policies as green energy… Why is this so important NOW ???

We do not, I repeat do not have the [infrastructure ] to sustain green energy – this is YEARS away…. We couldn’t even if we wanted to, flick a switch and make green energy [wind, solar and so forth] be available tomorrow anyway.

Taxpayer Money is being wasted in a crisis…it’s being forfeited by our President and our Politicians in the form of Crony Green Capitalism and shameful failure….

Take for instance these electric cars [volts]….let’s say tomorrow we put a million of these cars on the road… what then? The Left [Obama] in his own words said he wants to do away with coal [fossil fuels]….mining and so forth… And right now today, how do we produce electricity? WITH COAL!! So, if we are not [going to be] using COAL to produce the electricity needed for our own electric consumption, pray tell what are we going to be using to charge the ELECTRIC CARS ?? -> Windmills? -> Solar Power?? – Which by the way are Very Costly and you do not see the cost vs savings immediately if at all… [yet another statistic to be born].

Why does the LEFT not get this?????
Why do we need a bullet train into green energy at this very moment?

Meanwhile in Washington [our Gov’t] they are on continuously campaign mode [Obama] they [Politicians/Obama] drag their feet /regulate / stagnate / on a great deal of other things [like a budget] we truly do need at this very moment, in order to maintain ourselves as a Country and to get back on our economic feet…. I swear there must be a lot of stubby toes in Washington from all that foot draggin’… And green energy is NOT sustaining us!

He is right we do deserve better…much. much better LEADERSHIP..Quit betting on lost causes [solandra and other failures] with our money! You [Obama/Nancy and others] in Washington stink at it!

Start hedging your bets on America and her Innovative People instead…

The purpose of useless bullet trains and subsidy-sucking windmill farms is to provide skim for Friends of Obama. The steal 10%, kick back 2% to Obama for President, and the rest goes down the drain. And their purchased loyalty means the engage in lots of fundraising and bundling activity to keep the sugar coming.

@FAITH7:
Good question, FAITH.
I think a whole lot of Obama’s actions are obfuscation and diversion.
Did you all know, for instance, that almost half of all Democratic senators, several of Obama’s national campaign co-chairs, the House Minority Leader and the chairman of the Democratic convention, among others, have said they support adding marriage equality to the Democratic platform?

BUT marriage equality is NOT going to be on the Democratic Party Platform!
WHY not?
Because Obama says he is still publicly “evolving” on marriage equality.

So, what would it take for Obama to back gay marriage before the election?
Obama would have to be more worried about the youth vote than about losing the voters in older demographics.

Everything, every issue, is less important to Obama than his own re-election.

In the meantime the California GOP has endorsed an openly gay candidate, Brad Torgan, for State Assembly.

Paul Ryan MUST be elected President soon. He has more common sense and intelligence than ANYONE in Washington, DC.

I have always liked Ryan, he is an excellent economist and is not afraid to confront the left. We need more people like him in DC.

Why do we need a bullet train into green energy at this very moment?

Let’s not forget that the train will only be running in California. I am guessing it is just a way to give California more money. It will be an earmark, and earmarks are almost never built, but the state still gets to keep the money.

I have come to one of two conclusions about our politicians:

(1) They have been bought off. When you have an election system where anyone running for congress or the presidency has to use someone else’s money to run, they are subject to what the donor wants, not what is right for the country. We need to come up with a way that people can run without them spending any money.

(2) Our government has been infiltrated like we have and are still trying to infiltrate other countries. You might laugh at this, but think about it. If our government has been infiltrated or bought off by another country or countries, with the purpose of destroying the USA, how would they do it? Compare that with what is going on in congress and the white house now.

@NanG#8
“Everything, every issue, is less important to Obama than his own re-election.” Yes, Nan I agree, those of us with our eye wide open see this more brightly then the halo the Libs see around the false messiah.

Christie is being bashed [once again] in NJ for his stance on Gay Marriage, I say New York is right next door they can move there if it means that much to them and their marriage/equality problems are solved… Sen. Menendez needs to be sunk along with Sen: Lautenburg…and Congressman L. Lance is no better…

Nan – Couple this with Smorgasbord@12:
“(1) When you have an election system where anyone running for congress or the presidency has to use someone else’s money to run, [they are subject to what the donor wants,] not what is right for the country.”

Smorgasbord – Yes, money does go a long way when it comes to swaying support…Can we include non monetary “donors” such as [Votes] produced by supporting policies or issues ‘detrimental’ to the [economic/mental] health of the Country?

The Left has so ingrained a backward thought process into the minds and souls of those in this country… I heard one caller on a talk show who said he legally immigrated to America and was of Asian decent…this is exactly what the caller said “America is going in the ‘opposite direction’ of what our founding fathers envisioned America to be” Caller was very much into Reagan. Caller was very much afraid for his future and especially his children’s future….

I wonder if those who flee [legally] to America from Countries where their lives are so restricted by their own Government’s abuses and oppressive policies, see the Left’s policies as mental defects and ‘feel cheated’ in their search for [freedom] – a life “they” can control through their own self reliance and hard work…. and, they now see what is coming down the pike with this bigger debt, bigger government and bigger taxes not to mention more of their hard earn money being stolen taken away to pay support those who want freebies rather than “freedom” ?

A lot of these immigrants of a Conservative mindset didn’t leave a third world country to support an emerging 4th world country….did they?

Yea, a lot of us deserve better ….

@Liberal1 (objectivity):

All his does is ask the question. But he doesn’t answer it. He leaves that to you—depending on your biases.

Really? There was a time I thought you might be a legitimate poster, that time has passed. Paul Ryan has proposed sweeping changes and your messiah has done nothing but mock him. Your messiah proposed a budget that was defeated in the Senate 97-0. You messiah has not made one single honest proposal for dealing with the economy…….not one. Now, Greg will be along directly to claim your messiah wanted to raise taxes. Like I said, not one honest proposal. Raise everyone’s taxes 50% and you would still not be able to deal with the run away spending coming out of DC. And in case you missed it earlier….Obama’s budget defeated 97-0. Harry doesn’t even want to bring Obama’s new budget to the floor because he says the republicans just want to embarrass your messiah. How can the republicans embarrass him, they didn’t write the stupid budget, your messiah did.

JarHead68
I couldn’t agree more.
We need some true fiscal conservatives running this country and soon or there won’t be anything left to run….People can go on about moral and social issues until the cows come home but if this nation tanks financially I bet we won’t hear much about “don’t ask, don’t tell” “contraception coverage” yadda yadda yadda when peopel are just trying to survive or put food on the table…We will have chaos and chaos doesn’t have any patience for social and moral issues…We need only look at Greece to see what is coming. That little land mine hasn’t even been stepped on yet..
Why good people like Paul Ryan and Jim DeMint are not in this race is beyond me…They know what needs to be done, they just need to get in there and do it. They do themselves and this nation a disservice but standing on the side lines….

@Bobachek: You said:

Two thoughts come to mind on this:

1. I believe that Paul Ryan and Jim DeMint feel that, at this point, they can do more good where they are.

2. I cannot blame ANYONE who doesn’t want to wade into the cesspool that is the MSM circus these days to run for President. If you are a Republican, or worse yet, a Conservative, then every single person who you have spoken more than three words to will be hunted down and grilled in an effort to besmirch, smear and character assassinate you. And if that fails, then they will make something up. Just ask Herman Cain.

Well, lets put it this way, Barry is my ‘president’ in name only, SADLY my Representative is Michael Honda who is so far LEFT as to make Barry look like a moderate. Honda ‘says’ his record is that of a moderate but it’s a pure lie, I’m willing to bet he’s got portraits of Marx and Lenin in his office. My Senators are Feinstein and Boxer, that should be enough to say that I’m screwed. Boxer wouldn’t know the truth if it was pounded into her brainless skull. Feinstein is, sadly just a lost Liberal.

I don’t understand what you mean. I am referring to the need for people to use someone else’s money to get elected. One reason big businesses and independently wealth don’t pay any taxes is because they donate heavily to BOTH parties. If the politician they donated to gets elected, they have to do what they promised for the business or individual or they don’t get campaign money again.

I think the LAGAL immigrants are usually more patriotic than those born here. They came here for the same reasons the colonists first came here. They seem to be more successful than those born here because they are used to hard work and saving their money. How many of today’s kids are taught that?
