Ryan vs. Obama….KO to Ryan in the first.

Obama wants to bring this to the American people so he wouldn’t be afraid to debate someone like Ryan right?

Three Reconstructive surgeons were one-upping each other in the bar at some conference at a tropical location.

SURGEON 1: “I had a case where a young piano prodigy lost a hand in a car accident. I reattached it, and he went on to win the Van Cliburn prize last year.”

SURGEON 2: “One of my patients was a man who lost his sight in Iraq. I replaced his eyes with cadaver eyes in a very lengthy operation, and he sees 20/20 now.”

SURGEON 3: “There was a woman riding a horse, not paying attention, and she was hit by a locomotive. All I had to work with was a wig, some teeth, and the two hindquarters of the horse. And, now SHE’s the Speaker of the House!”

You remember the stories John use to tell us about the the three chinamen playing Fantan? This guy runs up to them and says, “Hey, the world’s coming to an end!” and the first one says, “Well, I best go to the mission and pray,” and the second one says, “Well, hell, I’m gonna go and buy me a case of Mezcal and six whores,” and the third one says “Well, I’m gonna finish the game.” I shall finish the game, Doc.

@Ivan:

Hey Ivan…

You’ve left crumbs on the carpet here and here.

Democrats to Introduce Gun Control Legislation Tomorrow

The “Stop Gun Trafficking and Strengthen Law Enforcement Act,” is designed to “keep high powered firearms out of the hands of dangerous criminals, including Mexican drug cartels.”

Good news! Democrats are going to dismantle the ATF and the DOJ.

Hey Ivan…

You’ve left crumbs on the carpet here and here.

Hey yapping dog, when will you apologize for your slander? Oh yeah, I forgot, you have no honor.

Never mind, I retract the question.

@Ivan:

Hey yapping dog, when will you apologize for your slander?

You still haven’t provided any source material to support your falsehoods…yet you want me to apologize? That’s some funny stuff right there.

Funny, funny stuff.

I’ll make a deal with you though…I’ll apologize to you…as soon as you cite the sources to prove your claims and are therefore able to prove me incorrect about my conclusions.

PS… Getting ready to head out of town. Be back late Sunday so you’ve got plenty of time to come up with the answers to the questions. I wouldn’t want your delusions of grandeur to lead you to falsely conclude that I abandoned our little discussion.

Obama debate? Without a script or teleprompter? It will NEVER happen!

I had an interesting conversation yesterday with a guy while attending a birthday party for my niece. The topic was about his purchasing a new truck for his business, however, the part that got me was his claim of being able to use the price of the truck as a deduction on his 2011 taxes.

Now, I don’t know for sure how this guy leaned politically, but from pieces/parts of our conversation, and his admission of being an ex teacher, I gather that he leaned a little left, although that doesn’t really matter concerning the point of this post.

What does matter is that this guy seemed to be very excited about the prospect of using that vehicle purchase as a way to reduce his taxes, along with an admission by him that as a teacher, he taught his students on the IRS and tax-code, and was able to identify the loopholes(he used that word) that would benefit him concerning taxes.

I don’t begrudge anyone, under our current tax code, of finding all available means to lower their taxes(honestly, of course). I do, however, begrudge those who do so and at the same time call for reductions in “loopholes”, or outright elimination of them, for higher income earners and corporations, particularly if they would defend the continued availability to themselves of such tax reducing measures.

After the conversation I thought about our current tax system and this popped into my head.

-How simple would our tax system be if all deductions, for everyone, and all credits, for everyone, were eliminated completely. At the same time, reduce the tax rates, across the board, for individuals and corporations to the average effective tax rates for individuals and businesses within the various tax brackets. Allow no deductions, or credits, ever, to be legislated into the system. All they are is a means of giving preferential treatment to certain groups based on various categories.

Along with that, require everyone who has earned $1000 or more in earnings, have to pay at least $1 in taxes.

Unless, of course, support for the Fairtax blooms, and is instituted. Otherwise, if a keeping of the “progressive” tax system is the future, everyone needs “skin in the game”, so to speak.

Alphonso Bedoya, hi,
very funny thank’s

A good man was laid to rest today. Sgt. Brent D. Long, of the Terre Haute Police Dept. was buried. Last Monday, he was serving a Federal warrant on a suspect, along with the US Marshal service, when the suspect opened fire on both him and his canine partner. Both were hit, and while his friend and partner, Shadow, survived, Officer Long, unfortunately, did not. I happened to follow the funeral services on the local TV station, and it was very moving, very sad, but also inspiring.

Unfortunately, the wackos at Westboro Baptist Church decided to protest the funeral. I do not understand, nor will I probably ever understand, their reasoning behind their protests at the funerals of those who died in service, whether to the country, or simply to their community.

The good news is that thousands of local area residents showed up at the cemetery to provide a ‘silent’ counter protest to the WBC.

On July 15th Obama seemingly did take his side of the debt issue to the American people.

Charlie P Brannan has found and exposed 36 Obama lies and deceptions among Obama’s short answers to cherry-picked questions from friendly reporters.

Enjoy.

My opinion….
If this was the best Obama could do in ”taking his side to the American people,” we’ve got nothing to worry about.
Just keep blasting away at his lies with these truths.
Maybe a few in the media will pick up on it.

Why is this woman always trying to tell us how great he is? I’ll be glad when she is gone too………….

If this really is a debate (fight, whatever you want to call it) between Obama and Paul Ryan, then Paul Ryan is raking up the points!

“I was pretty new when Clinton was president,” Ryan says. “But I learned then that presidents serve themselves well when they say the same thing in public as they do in private, dealing with congressional leaders earnestly and honestly.”

[Obama] has made it harder to establish trust, which will make it harder to find compromise,” Ryan says. “As much as he wants to come off as a leader, every time he talks about Republicans holding out to save fat-cat corporate-jet loopholes — which he knows is false — or leaks alleged spending cuts to the press, he reduces his leadership. He knows how that damages his credibility up here. Yet he continues to spin.”

“This is, unfortunately, the way he operates,” Ryan says. “This is his pattern of behavior, this is his personality. For the next 18 months, it will probably be like this. It’ll be in-your-face class warfare, with bitter appeals to envy, fear, and anxiety, plus the demonization of the other side’s motives.

OUCH!

Pelosi reminds me of the original “Romper Room” programs on tv.

Every time I see her, I go back in memory to “Romper, bomper, stomper do.”

We quickly learned that all of Obama’s promises came with expiration dates.
But now – because of this Obama/Ryan/Cantor blow up – we just learned that even Obama’s hissy fits come with expiration dates!

John Hayward puts it this way in Obama Temper Tantrum Reaches Expiration Date
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~”I will not yield on this.” ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Remember last week, when President Obama threw a fit and stormed out of budget negotiations with the House Republican leadership? Do you recall what made him blow a fuse? It was when House Majority Leader Eric Cantor suggested a short-term deal to raise the debt limit a bit, because Democrats and Republicans could use more time to settle their differences.
[Obama’s] response to Cantor’s short-term deal proposal was to snarl, “I’ve reached my limit. This may bring my presidency down, but I will not yield on this.” Then he walked out of the room.
The White House encouraged congressional leaders to reach a major deficit-reduction deal by offering them a little more time……..Obama would accept a short-term increase in the federal government’s $14.29 trillion borrowing limit if congressional leaders reach agreement on a “significant” deficit-reduction plan before Aug. 2 but need more time to pass legislation…
What happened to the mighty lion who gave Eric Cantor a face full of his swishing tail, because opposing short-term deals was important enough to risk his presidency?
A couple of things have changed last week. The big one is that Obama sees the momentum of the debt ceiling battle turning against him. His polls are horrible. The Mitch McConnell plan to give him full control over the national debt provoked outrage. His scare tactics have blown up in his face. Even the media is growing uncomfortable with his performance.
The problem for Obama and the Democrats is that while a distressing amount of the Republican leadership appears willing to cave in and embrace the Gang of Six $20 Trillion National Debt Plan, it won’t be ready for a vote by August 2. It’s only a six-page proposal right now. It takes time to blow that up into 2000 pages of legislation that nobody will read before voting on it.
Hence, the White House is suddenly all in favor of the short-term deal Obama said he will not yield on. Give him a day or two, and he’ll make a speech where he insists, “As I have always said, a short-term agreement is a wise measure to give Congress the time it needs for crafting the best possible legislation.” Then he’ll portray himself as taking the wise middle road between “those who say” Washington should be burned to the ground, and “others who say” Washington should just spend $20 trillion right now, to purchase prosperity and comfort for every single citizen.
Our peerless leader couldn’t lead a kindergarten class back off the playground after recess, let alone lead the Congress, the Nation or the Free World.
Especially the part about saying the same things in public that you say in private, that’s not part of his character. This is brilliantly true ….and Obama is in Epic FAIL mode on this. “But I learned then that presidents serve themselves well when they say the same thing in public as they do in private, dealing with congressional leaders earnestly and honestly.”
Obama “…But…I WON….you have to do what I say!”
