2012 Poll Watch – GOP Presidential Candidates

Loading

Latest poll update on the Republican field. First we have this one from CNN which shows Daniels at 5%. Quite interesting since he isn’t known well enough by many to form an opinion on him:

They also included the “do you view the following candidate favorably or unfavorably” question:

Favorable / Unfavorable

  • Mike Huckabee: 46% / 27%
  • Mitt Romney: 40% / 30%
  • Sarah Palin: 35% / 59%
  • Donald Trump: 31% / 64%
  • Ron Paul: 30% / 27%
  • Newt Gingrich: 30% / 44%
  • Michele Bachmann: 22% / 23%
  • Tim Pawlenty: 17% / 18%
  • Mitch Daniels: 14% / 15%
  • Rick Santorum: 16% / 19%
  • John Huntsman: 9% / 13%

You notice who wasn’t included in the poll?

On to this Gallop poll on the issues for Republicans, and another weird one. They only included three Republican names:

When you think about politics, which of the following sets of issues is most important to you?

  • Government spending and power 37%
  • Business and the economy 36%
  • Social issues and moral values 15%
  • National security and foreign policy 12%

Among those who say government spending and power are most important issues

  • Mike Huckabee 19%
  • Mitt Romney 17%
  • Sarah Palin 9%

Among those who say business and the economy are most important issues

  • Mitt Romney 18%
  • Mike Huckabee 15%
  • Sarah Palin 14%

Among those who say social issues and moral values are most important issues

  • Mike Huckabee 26%
  • Sarah Palin 18%
  • Mitt Romney 8%

Among those who say national security and foreign policy are most important issues

  • Sarah Palin 19%
  • Mike Huckabee 18%
  • Mitt Romney 16%

Basically a tie amongst all three except for the social issues where Huckabee has a strong lead.

Here are two regional polls. A New York poll done by Marist College Institute for Public Opinion gauging the interest in their “favorite son” Guiliani:

The field of possible 2012 Republican presidential candidates is wide. But, given the choice, about one in four New York State Republican voters — 23% — report they would back former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani and one in five — 20% — say they would support former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney. Here is how the field stands among these Republican voters:

• 23% for former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani
• 20% for former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney
• 12% for former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin
• 10% for former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee
• 7% for Businessman Donald Trump
• 7% for Texas Congressman Ron Paul
• 3% for former Georgia Congressman Newt Gingrich
• 2% for Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty
• 2% for Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels
• 2% for Businessman Herman Cain
• 1% for Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann
• 1% for former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum
• Fewer than 1% for former U.S. Ambassador to China Jon Huntsman
• Fewer than 1% for former New Mexico Governor Gary Johnson
• 10% are undecided

Only 205 people were polled so take it for what it’s worth.

Lastly here is a Missouri done by PPP:

Huckabee leads the pack in Missouri so far.

Donald Trump’s emergence has taken a huge hit on Newt Gingrich’s and Sarah Palin’s support. Mike Huckabee (28%) and Mitt Romney (13%) are treading water since January, but Trump’s 12% has knocked Gingrich from 19% to 10% and Palin from 14% to 8%, with Michele Bachmann at 9%, Ron Paul at 6%, and Tim Pawlenty at 5%.

Think Huckabee will be getting into the race? I think it’s a foregone conclusion.

The one person that can beat Obama in 2012 is not on the list. Allen West is the last hope for us to change course. Help us Draft Allen West Sign the petition, there’s also another petition for JUST his district residents. IF you know someone in FL-22 please get them involved.

Any of the other candidates on the GOP field of hopefuls is a recipe for disaster. 2008 all over again.

Huckabee? My God, are the Republicans going to force me to hold my nose and vote again this time?

Huckabee is the last person on that list I would choose (well, maybe not the last) but he damn sure isn’t on the top of my “Yeah, I could really get behind that person” list.

The problem is that the GOP seems to be reguritating the same old candidates that think since they lost last time, it is their due this time. We need new blood. A Paul Ryan or someone who hasn’t recycled their same old tired “I deserve this because” excuses.

There’s really plenty of time for somebody to step up. I think that’s why Palin hasn’t entered yet. It’s just too damn early. Its understandable for somebody like Herman Cain, because he needs that extra time to try to gain some name recognition. Ron Paul needs to build some support beyond the Paulinistas. Gary Johnson needs to practice not being freaked out by the flashing lights. And so on.

The CNN poll is asking a whole lot of Democrats and Independents who they’d like to see.
Think of this backwards.
They are the majority in this poll and would naturally choose the Republican candidate they think would lose for sure.
Go down the pages of the poll to see that this group favors Obama over anyone in the 53-59% range.

So, discount the CNN poll 100%.
It is NOT asking Republicans who they want.

The Gallop poll hardly touched on candidates but at least it limited itself to Republicans.

The NY poll is like a CA poll of ”Republicans.”
NY & CA Republicans are a very liberal version compared with the rest of the country.
Over 3,000 Republicans.
Note that Romney and Palin came in well in the fine print.

OOPS!
Forgot Missouri!
Only 400 Republicans, but it gives an indication.

Curt asks: “You notice who wasn’t included in the poll?”

Hell yes. Herman Cain was missing. That (and other things) are why I hate polls. Their only purpose is to herd the sheep in the direction that The Elite desire.

My prediction: A lot will change when (not if) Boehner caves on the debt ceiling.

Polls (poles) are only good for two things.

Firehouses

Strip Clubs

Poles are good for dog markings, surrendering to the Germans and being double crossed by the Russians, and providing the best and most popular Pope of the Catholic Church in the modern era.

I am +++ for +++ one of those people 100 percent – 100 percent – 100 perent, the rest are a bunch of dancing dunces tailored to keep O’Bozo in power til 2016 or longer; yes longer, Hugo Chavez destroys constitutions and O’BasketCase models his strategy off Chavez. We must get out of the beauty contest nonsense NOW and coalease around the candidate he fears most and that candidate owns a state right now. Discount NY or Mass, live and lived in both, they are dead men’s holes looking for bodies and forget about the Iowa Fakecus and that idiotic New Hampshire dog and pony show. You all know who it is that can spike O’BoomBoomRoom, this is not the time for make believe PR rounded debates in 20 primary states costing billions or spinning dishs at the end of a stick proving to play banjo better than Ross Perot.

Look up on Youtube to watch and listen to the speech in the cold, in the sleet, in the snows of Madison Wisconsin then join us in our Fight For Freedom. “GAME ON – FIGHT LIKE A GIRL!”

I hope Herman Cain makes it. We first saw him on the Cavoto show last summer. We had hoped that he would run. Saw him in the debates this Thursday nite. The guy is good, damn good. I think he could beat OB, I really do. Not any of the professional politicans stand a chance. After the debate in the focus group that they had on just about all of the people said the same thing, “He is not a politician.” And most of not heard of him. Yet they liked him. A good sign. Yet on the radio the next day, surfing differnet channels we heard the same old BS from the talking heads. How a non-professional could not be president. I wanted to scream! Why are they so against a regular Joe or Jane trying to be president? Why can’t they see the frustration and contempt that many Americans have for politicans of both parties? HC made all those so called professionls look like dummies up on that stage. He named the problem, and solution, and he did not spend 3min talking, and not answer the question. Or even worse”‘I want to tell you a story! About when I was a child, or about my grandad, my dead dog, etc… They the politicians can’t even figure out that we are sick and tired of their frinking stories! And what in Gods name do people see in the Huckleberry? Or the Newt? Or Rommey? Why the same old faces, with the same old stories. Its going to be interesting to watch though. I just hope its not another train wreck like the last one. I could not believe that they picked MaCain. I still can’t believe it.

@Curt: The portion of the poll I put up from CNN was only asked of Republicans. The favorable/unfavorable question from CNN was asked of all tho.

I stand corrected.
Odd group of Republicans.
No non-white Republicans at all.
No Republicans under age 50 at all.

So basically it is a poll of only old, white people.
(On Q21 anyway.)

Going back to the whole cnn poll, no one under age 35 was polled at all.
What kind of demographics “garbage in/garbage out” poll is that?

After hearing about the debate in SC, and Herman Cain, I’m beginning to like him, much as I do Sarah Palin. If the GOP really wants to send a strong message to liberal ideology, and there base as well, they need to get away from showing support for Huckabee, and especially Romney. Enough of them telling us who we want as a candidate. Too many people who know very little about politics, or even attempt to know, are just going to choose who they hear the GOP leadership telling them they need to support. To hell with that! All we end up with is a Dem-lite type candidate, who won’t change much from what Obama is doing. Give me someone I can really support, who believes much the same as I do.

Polls are a juggling of numbers, suited to fit a desired outcome. As you will recall CNN was called clinton news network. When on looks a a poll, a basic matrix for outcome has already been established, again the desired outcome is structured first, than the figmented numbers follow. Take for example NYC, if a jackass, alian, muslin terroist, marsixt, socialist, or even hitler would have been a democrat, they would have won. Dead brain NYC votes a stright democtratic ticket. It does not matter who runs, even satan would have won over God if he was a democrat..See the point.. In a poll look at the resons for the poll. The architecture for outcome is primary. Then the deographic of the polled area. Than, who authored the poll and above all, who paied for it. A poll for a republican candidate in NYC is useless..braindead city that votes purely democratic…READ THE FINE PRINT, and above all, do your home work by looking up authors and sources. Gibb’s rule #3…don’t beleive what you are told. double check”..and check some more..In the end, you will question every poll you read and look at it a different way. NT time(slime) wsj, washington post, just a few of the many top, bogus poll runners. The three listed above, don’t waste you time or money on them..the WSJ is yellow journalism t othe max., and the hypocracy is outstipped my the syndicated writers errogance..Must must never forget 60 min..now this is pure whipe house trash..20 years ago it almost went away. the ratings were that poor…but bill and burnt out whore hillary pumped a lot of federal money into the production staff and it survived. Smile..you have been flushed again.

CURT, hi, AMERICANS will need other polls better than those made with the same people with a tingle in their legs, they omitted some great names, that will freak them up even now as we speak,
and SARAH PALIN has mesmeryze the AMERICANS ON HER WISCONSIN’S SPEECH that will never be forgotten by AMERICANS in 2012 for sure the left will be scare of her bravery to have conquer the devil itself from the left propaganda of hate along with their MEDIA,
thank you,

There lacks a charismatic conservative Republican that speaks well and popular enough to get the independent vote and can take on the media. Obvioulsy one of the problems is the Republican challenger will need about $800 million just to run against Obama. Frankly there isn’t that much conservative money out there. Maybe the people that want to run are just waiting for Obama to go so they can run against a financially weaker opponent. What is odd is the Republican Party is financially broke. In October 2010, the Republican party had the RNC with $4.5 million in debt and $3.8 million on hand.

As you can see here that the Democrats have suddenly outpaced Republicans in its ability to raise money.
http://www.fec.gov/press/press2010/20100309Party.shtml

My choices: Palin, Herman Cain or Ron Paul with Gary Johnson not far behind. None of these 4 are what I consider the more-of-the-same establishment Republicans.

I don’t think that Palin will ever get a fair shake due to the sleazy derangement of those who fear, hate, are jealous of, or refuse to accept her because she is a strong, beautiful, popular and conservative feminist-role model. The same pretty much goes for Michele Bachmann who is a bit more grating to listen to. (One thing is clear. the MSM is definately racist and sexist when it comes to their lack of support for conservative women and “African-heritage” politicians.)

I like what Herman Cain has said so far, and the the hypocrisy of the press against him so far is almost ridiculously partisan The Daily Kos’s belittling him as “stupid” gain’s him points in my book. Which could be used against them: They can’t use use the race card against him, As a CEO they can’t succeed in discounting Cain for inexperience without risking the mirror to be turned back on their messiah. What he lacks is a political history, which means that while he’s had no hand in the mismanagement that has gotten us where we are today, there is little but faith in his word for us to consider on his political positions.

The elites in American media and in Washington will never support Ron Paul because he is an isolationist libertarian. (And they all love meddling far too much in world politics to give it up.) Gary Johnson, seems a good alternative to Ron Paul, but he needs more name recognition. Considering Ron Paul’s in his eighties, he could terrify the left by making Palin his VP choice.

I think Rudy Giuliani would probably make a good President, and could beat Obama handily, but I don’t agree with many of his past positions.

I’m fairly neutral on Huckabee. He seems to be a nice enough person, but I’m just not impressed.

Mitt Romney, Donald (“what party will I be today”) Trump, Newt (“You can trust me this time”) Gingrich all have far too much baggage, I consider them non-starters. Newt may be a great debater, but his failure with the promised and never enacted “Contract-For-America” and peccadilloes makes me say: “what, are you kidding?! Get real, he doesn’t have a snowball’s chance of drawing in the undecided” (Incidentally, I could care less that Romney is a Mormon, and any reporter who brings that to the table needs a smack in the head, as they certainly ignore that Harry Reid is a member of the LDS.)

Tim Pawlenty didn’t come across very well at all to me, and the Huffington Post calling him the “least flawed candidate” makes me very wary.

Rick Santorum: Same type of Gingrich-era establishment “free-trade” Republican who has gotten us where we are today, in the search for “globalism”.

Mitch Daniels/John Huntsman: Insufficient information for me to make a decision.

@Gregory_Dittman:

Maybe the people that want to run are just waiting for Obama to go so they can run against a financially weaker opponent.

If that is the case, or even partially the case, then they are stupid. The liberals will pour money into whomever emerges for the democratic party, after Obama is done, and the GOP will continue to be behind in the money game.

A strong public speaker, who holds conservative values, can compete with Obama, or anyone from the left, even if they don’t raise near the money that the left’s candidate does.

johngalt, yes, the money should not be the dictator of the choice from the people,
the MEDIA even less, because they are paid with that money, and greatly to get their mouth open to any lies they can find , if they have been proven to have shamlessly done it in the last election,
remember the tingle in the leg they get?
WE THE PEOPLE, HAVE NO NEED FOR THEM TO PUSH THEIR GUY, because IT’S THEIR GUY ,
not WE THE PEOPLE’S GUY, and the people just have to listen to the REAL GUYS, and what
is their speechs behind their speechs, and decide the REAL EQUIPT TO BE, AND POSESS THE TOOLS TO MASTERD THE PRESIDENCY OF THIS SUPERPOWER OF THE WORLD, THAT NO ONE WILL
EVER DIMINISH AS A TOLERANT BENEVOLANT GIANT WHICH NEED THE BEST TO
BE ON HONORERD WITH THE TITLED GIVEN BY WE THE PEOPLE REGARDLESS OF HOW MUCH MORE OR LESS MONEY, SHE OR HE HAS TO BE QUALIFIED , NOT ADORED,
LIKE A HOLLYWOOD MADE UP STAR WITH THE FRONT ONLY.
BUT THE REAL ONE THAT GET IN YOUR GUTT’S FEELING, WITH HIS BAGGAGE INNER CORE THAT IS.

Nan G’ #11 says “so basically it is a poll of only, old white people” aka The Republican Party.

@rich wheeler:

I wonder what Reid, Pelosi, Biden, Wasserman-Schultz, and other Democratic party leaders, and their supporters, like union leader Trumka, and billionaire Soros, noted ‘environmentalist’ Al Gore, governors Brown(CA), Cuomo(NY), Quinn(IL), can be described as?

And that doesn’t even include the current congressmen, such as Feinstein, Boxer, Durbin, Harkin, Kerry, Leahy, Murray, Nelson, Rockefeller, Schumer, Israel, Hoyer, Weiner, etc., etc., etc.

Be careful of applying a label that can be redirected back at the other side, Rich.

John G. The poll was of the rank and file not the leadership.Would submit both party’s leadership should be a little more rainbow like. Go easy on me OT2.

@rich wheeler:

I can tell you right now that conservatives do not care about such things as skin color, gender, age, or any other divisive division used to split, and label, the public. What matters to us is simply the values that a person holds. Unfortunately, the left has played the divisive political game well, and many, otherwise intelligent, people, who are categorized within certain demographics, believe in sticking with their group, and not using their heads, hence, the election of liberals.

I know the poll demographics, and it just reinforces my opinion that citizens are labeled, categorized, and pigeon-holed, based on race, gender, age, etc., and identified with parties based on those stupid, ignorant, divisions. Three of my friends at work would normally be included within certain classes, based on race, or sexual orientation, opposite of what I am, yet they think for themselves, and did not, and will not, support guys like Obama, for the reason that they hold different ideological viewpoints. Unfortunately, not all think like they do, and blindly listen, and vote, like some divisive pol tells them to, when they wouldn’t otherwise listen to that pol in other aspects of their lives.

Old, and white, is not all inclusive of the GOP. It’s just that the left has done a great job in promoting that viewpoint, as evidenced by your own statement.

johngalt that tell us meaning all the people who will be voting in 2012 how important it will be to vote ,
the conservatives are all BODY AND SOUL WELL BALANCE WITH EACH OTHER,
WHILE THE DEMOCRATS ARE ONLY BODY AND NEGATIVE THINKING MINDS,
NOT HEALTHY FOR THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA WHICH IS STRIVING ALWAYS ON REMAINING BODY AND SOUL, SINCE THE BEGINNING OF HER ROOTS, AND AT BIG COST OF BLOOD AND LIFE,
TO PRESERVED THE FREEDOM AND TOLERANCE OF THE AMERICANS UNDER HER PROTECTION.

@ilovebeeswarzone:

Ms. Bees, I have to beg to differ, regarding the Republicans. They, the leadership, plays the game of ‘welfare politics’ as well as the democrats, just from the opposite end of the economic spectrum. This is something that our liberal friends here do not understand. They tend to paint all Republicans with the same broad brush strokes used to define the GOP’s leadership, or lack of it, concerning conservative positions. In essence, the GOP leadership is not conservative, but instead, liberal in their stances. In giving unearned benefits to those who don’t deserve them, whether they be big corporations, or small demographic groups which the left favors, both actions result in redistribution of wealth. And even if the GOP’s motives are ‘good’, in that they wish to prevent the broader redistribution of wealth that the liberal left favors, the end result is that the marketplace itself doesn’t determine who the winners and losers are, but rather, who has the better friends in DC. I want the true conservatives to take the leadership of the Republican party, and take us closer to our constitutional roots, which in the end, would be better for all concerned, even those liberals who’ve swallowed the tripe from the democrat party. Just my two cents.

johngalt, i don’t see where I differ with you, as I read you carefully,
and either don’t see where you differ with me, as I promote the CONSERVATIVES TOP OF MY LIST ALSO,
and BY what I observed from quite a while very carefully also, I think greatly of the qualitys
of the CONSERVATIVES TO LEAD THE NATION TO A BEST PEACEFULL AND PRODUCTIVE
SITUATION, TO RECOVER ON EVERY ASPECTS OF SECURE LIVING POINTS TO HAVE THE CREATIVITY BACK ON FIRST FOCUS OF THE PEOPLE AND BUSYNESSES WHICH HAVE LOST IT BUT ONLY UNTIL THEY ARE ABLE TO ,AGAIN BE ABLE TO RECOVER,BY A NEW REVIVED GOVERNMENT OF AND FOR THE PEOPLE

I have great respect for the CONSERVATIVES INTELLIGENCE, AND KNOWLEDGE,
I mean THE TRUE KNOWLEDGE, THAT IS POURING IN THIS BLOG I AM FOUND OF PARTICULARY,
BUT OTHER BLOGS I SOMETIMES VISIT WHO ARE FROM CONSEVATIVES,
ALL GIVE A BEST READING OF WHAT THEIR INNER DEEP FOUNDEMENTAL BELIEF ARE WITH NO
CHANGE EVER,in the CONSTITUTION OF THE FATHERS GREAT WISDOM PURPOUSE TO GIVE THIS NATION ALWAYS THE FREEDOM AND SUCCESSFULL END REWARD TO THEIR EFFORTS AND
NEVER ENDING CREATIVITY.

@ilovebeeswarzone:

If you don’t differ with me, then I apologize. I may have been reading too much into your comments, as when you discuss conservatives, I input ‘Republicans’, much as I deride our liberal friends here of doing. Unfortunately for us, conservatives represent too small a sector within the GOP leadership. For the conservative principles to win through, those such as Romney, Gingrich, and other liberal-lites need to be relegated to the fringe of the Republican party. Essentially, concerning conservative principles, they need to lead, follow, or get the heck out of the way.

After reading your comments, Ms. Bees, I believe we are on the same page, so to speak. Consider my previous assertion, in post #23, retracted.

johngalt, thank you, you belong to my CONSERVATIVES SO APPRECIATED, FROM ME FOR HAVING GIVEN ME THE PRIVILEDGE OF TAKING ME ALONG,
I know where you took offences as I TOOK THE REPLUBICAN SIDES ON ATTACKS BY THE LIBTARDS WHICH COME HERE FOR THAT ONLY, and I will not let them get away with it either because of their intent. I keep in mind of the PARTYS elected with both the REPUBLICANS , TEAPARTY, ALONG WITH CONSERVATIVES, HAVE TO SHARE THE POWER IN A BETTER UNDERSTANDING BUT KEEPING EACH THEIR CORE BELIEFS OF SELF ASSOCIATIONS, than the DEMOCRATS SOCIALIST COMMUNIST NAME ANY OTHER,.

JohnG. You mention a gay friend at work who doesn’t support Obama.Have you ever thought about why the # of Log Cabin Repubs. could fit into a er log cabin, or the # of Conservative African Americans would have ample seating at one of Cain’s pizza joints. It’s not pols., it’s POLICIES John.Do you wonder why winning Dems. consistantly get the majority of female voters? It’s not pols. it’s policies.Do you wonder why the Dems get 70%+ of the Latin vote? See above.

@little dickie wheeler: What I wonder is why far lefties like little dickie wheeler constantly obsess over race.

Anticsrocks Probably because things like race and gender, economic status and nationality have always played a role in American politics. I don’t make the rules. It’s politics. To ignore or dismiss is naive or stupid.

@rich wheeler: You said:

To ignore that fact is just plain stupid.

And obsessing over race isn’t??

As mentioned a person’s race is just one of MANY factors in determining how he/she might vote’ POLITICS 101

@little dickie wheeler: So it is preferable to view someone as a race, or a gender or what not, instead of as an American citizen?

Interesting and revealing.

Pigeonholing is a silly exercise, dickie.

Preferable Absolutely not.Reality of American Politics which is not always pretty,Definately

@little dickie wheeler: When you take the marbles out of your mouth…

There is reality and there is a far lefty like yourself who has to obsess over the racial make up of each group.

You see black voters, white voters, hispanic voters.

I see American citizens.

rich wheeler, how can they forget the color when the DEMOCRATS ALWAYS SHOVE IT IN THEIR FACES TO MAKE THEM BELIEVE THAT IT’S THE OTHER PARTYS THAT ARE THEIR ENNEMIES,
DO YOU GET IT NOW?

Some serial bloggers think themselves soooooo clever so perhaps you can answer this “In the storyline novel and film scenario Gone With The Wind who are the Communists?”

@rich wheeler:

Yes, Rich, it is policies. The policies of ‘welfare politics’, of which I talk about from time to time here on FA. What are ‘welfare politics’, you ask? That is the business of granting favors, either in grants, tax exemptions, special privileges, and the like, all of them unearned, for simply being the right color, gender, sexual orientation, age, etc. And yes, I also mention the GOP party, as a whole, that engages in this too, although as I’ve stated, they come from the opposite end, of the corporations. Either way, it is a disgusting, and despicable way of garnering votes for elections, and re-elections, by promising special favors to those who support you. And, it goes against the path set forth by our founding fathers and the Constitution.

What we have now is a bunch of pandering bozos, within both major parties, and people who are mistaken, like yourself, as well as others, who are just ignorant, believe that the terms Republican, and Conservative, are interchangeable. They are not.

When your ‘ideas’ consist of handing out as many ‘handouts’ as you can get away with, from other people’s money, they are much of an idea to begin with. So yeah, I agree that it’s policies. Unfortunately, for those duped into liberalism, those policies are only meant as a means for the pols to stay in power, and do nothing to actually help them.

@rich wheeler:

wrote addressing the guy Wheeler, if you want to race bait answer up, get some courage, something else besides the mush between your legs.

James Your post #39 would indicate you’re a real asshole but a belated welcome to the debate. Two questions.1) Is it worse to be a race baiter or an actual racist.2) Did you serve?
Semper Fi

@Rich Wheeler

…Do you wonder why winning Dems. consistantly get the majority of female voters? It’s not pols. it’s policies.Do you wonder why the Dems get 70%+ of the Latin vote? See above.

We should look at history to review your claim. What do we learn?…

We have to admit that hardly any Blacks in the Southern states voted for Republican Abraham Lincoln. Why do you think that is Rich? And while we’re at it, lets consider how often this same race-based block of voters voted for The following Democrats: Illinois Senator Stephen Douglas, President Franklin Pierce, Senator Hugo Black, Governor/Senator Ernest Hollings, West Virginia Senator Robert Byrd, Senator Albert Gore Sr.,North Carolina Senator Sam Ervin, Georgia Senator Richard Russell, Arkansas Governor Orval Faubus, Alabama Governor George Wallace, Georgia Governor Lester Maddox, Mississippi Senator James O. Eastland, President Grover Cleveland, 3 time presidential cansdidate William Jennings Bryan,

How about this little tidbit:

November 18, 1872 Susan B. Anthony arrested for voting, after boasting to Elizabeth Cady Stanton that she voted for “the Republican ticket, straight” What party did the majority of the Suffragists vote for?

And what about Democrats and Hispanics?

Democrat Cuomo stated that voting for his rival for the New York Democrat gubernatorial nomination Carl McCall, who is black, would create a “racial contract” between Black and Hispanic Democrats “and that can’t happen.”

Lee P. Brown (Bill Clinton’s former drug czar and Democrat mayor of Houston,) engaged in racist campaigning designed to suppress Hispanic voter turnout during his 2001 reelection bid. Brown faced challenger Orlando Sanchez, a Hispanic Republican who drew heavy support from the Hispanic community during the general election. Two weeks prior to the runoff, Brown’s campaign printed racist signs designed to intimidate Hispanic voters. The signs featured a photograph of Sanchez and the words “Anti-Hispanic.” The signs drew harsh criticism from Hispanic leaders as their message was designed to intimidate and confuse Hispanic voters.

Hispanics in South Texas were treated especially poorly by the Democrat Party, which relied heavily on a system of political bosses to coerce and intimidate Hispanics into voting for Democrat primary candidates of choice. Though coercion is illegal, this system, known as the Patron system, is still in use to this day by local Democrat parties in some heavy Hispanic communities of the southwest.

On December 15, 1994, federal Judge David V. Kenyon issued a court order to the Clinton Administration in the Case of Fairchild v Robert Reich Secretary of Labor (#CV92-5765 Kn). The order demanded that Secretary Reich and the Clinton Administration force 100 west coast shipping to develop an Affirmative Action plan to stop discrimination against, African Americans, Hispanics, Female and Disabled Workers. Female employees were being sexually harrassed, Hispanic were being denied promotions and training, Disable Workers were being laid off, and African Americans were being force to work in an environment where they had job classification called ” Nigger Jobs.” Clinton left office six years later and never complied with the court order. The companies still do not have an Affirmative Action Plan.

By Their Own Standards, Dems Racist When It Comes to Hispanics. The Democrats’ pattern of blocking Hispanics for “not being “the right kind of Hispanic” is undeniable.

Filibuster on Estrada exposes Dems’ true colors“The Democrats assert that he is “Hispanic in name only” and that he was nominated simply because he is Hispanic.”

Interesting enough, Hispanics tend to support the same kind of traditional family values as Republicans

Hispanics never have been as reliably Democratic as black voters. In several recent elections, more than a third of Hispanics have voted for Republican candidates at the state and national levels, and 40 percent voted for President George W. Bush in 2004. Those GOP Hispanic voters tend to be more affluent and thus more consistent voters, as well.

Among Hispanic Republicans, many are small-business owners who don’t want to see their taxes rise. Others are naturalized citizens who’ve made it up the economic ladder by working two or three jobs. They aren’t interested in big government. A far smaller proportion of Hispanics than other Americans work in the government sector — fewer than 10 percent, compared with 15 percent of whites and more than 20 percent of blacks.

So, we can understand why the Democrats are resorting to calling everyone who opposes them “Racists!!!” They have filled their poker hand with nothing but class warfare “wild cards.” A garbage hand that they hope in their bluff and bluster that no one will realize what a utterly worthless hand they have to play.

Thanks for bringing this up Rich.

Rich, I have a great deal of respect for you and your service. Thank you. I do also take exception to the idea that someone would consider me a racist because of my conservative leanings. That does not represent me and I’m speaking for myself here but I don’t like the terms “white man” “black man”.

I also don’t think racism represents the majority of Americans. I’ve lived in many places in the US and I’ve known conservatives and liberals but few racists. Demographics also represent cultural differences, I’ve had supposedly “open minded” people from San Franciso communitys glare at me for looking to rugged or mean and was shocked at how intolerant they were against anyone different, I’m a nice guy. I’ve seen rednecks in Idaho who were unbelievably pleasant to anyone and everyone. My theory is that people take on the beliefs they are surrounded by and race is not the factor people wish it is. As Dr j would say “straw man argument”.

You’re floating.
The issue is race baiting and the first question is who are the Communists in Gone With The Wind, there is a point to the question which you may not perceive so I purposely slapped the gauntlet across your face. The tree is tall so keep on climbing up.
Honors for your armed services, my personal history in part of your float.

James, hi, YES I have seen the movie a good while ago, and I would not know about the answer of your question, but I am curious who It might be, come on, tell us.
please

Zac, hi, I believe in what you said about being inflUence by the surrounding you happen to be in at any particular time, specialy at a young age, if you are in a group, where each has an opinion, and some are kind of more pushing their views than other the one who prefer to listen,
and then you bound to hear someone say, lets go at so so place, and most often one will
say something that seems to be always the same sentence all the time you hear it, and that is,
OH DON’T GO THERE IT’S NO GOOD, OR TOO DANGEROUS OR IT’S BAD, ANYTHING NEGATIVE WILL COME OUT OF THE SAME PEOPLE ‘S TYPE
BYE

Gotta love it when cons are accused of being racist etc. What’s interesting in the Chicago area is that areas that used to be White that are now predominately Black, were in dem strongholds, i.e. Chicago and Cook County. Some of those areas, like Evanston, are VERY LIBERAL. As minorities moved in, the libs moved out. Populations stayed the same but the neighborhoods became less White. Does the term “White flight” ring a bell? Where did it happen? In dem strongholds. In addition, the dem machine in Chicago erected a bunch of new high cost housing areas that used to be slums, you know, the types rich, liberal, yuppie White folks could afford but not the minorities. The left loves to play the race card. In many cases, they just don’t want to live by them that’s all. Most of the biggest racists I ever met were card carrying union types who punched ‘D’ at the ballot box.

Mitch Daniels is the best of the bunch, in my opinion.

But then again, in May, 2007, my favorite candidate for the 2008 Presidential race, Democrat or Republican, was Mitt Romney (based on his history as Governor of Massachusetts). As late as January, 2008, I was still strongly supporting him in my Internet scribblings, as my top candidate.

But then he took his overtly phony tack to the Right. Not only did I see this as phony, but so did the GOP electorate, and I personally don’t think that Romney will ever be President.

I really respect Mitch Daniels. My stomach wouldn’t churn at all, with him in the White House.

I also respect Ron Paul. He’s actually comes closest to me politically on my number one issue on which I rate my Presidential candidates: which candidate is most likely to prevent a nuclear bomb from exploding in the general vicinity of my house?

All politics being local, and all that.

I saw this this morning.
GOP litmus test: Sharia opposition
What do you think of Sharia law opposition being a ”litmus test” for a Republican candidate this time around?

Another Vet I am in total agreement with you that racism exists and it doesn’t have ANY party affilliation. To ignore, blindlyaccept, or condone it is cowardly.I am hoping generations to follow will be free from it’s scourge.
Thanks for your service

@rich wheeler: Unfortunately it always has and always will exist. People love to play it up in order to stoke the fires for political and personal gain and then when everything goes to hell in a hand bag, they get to sit on the sidelines and say “See, I told you so” while others pay the price. Remember how the media helped to incite the Rodney King riots? None of them had their businesses or homes burned down so they didn’t care, but it made for a good story.

Thanks for your service as well. I was going to post something a video awhile back that was made by a Viet Nam Vet about chopper pilots but I may have deleted the email.
