In Desperation, Reid Tries Michelle [Reader Post]

In a speech for the Women’s Summit, held at Reno, a crowd of 1600 listened as Michelle briefly tried to breathe some life into Reid’s campaign.

Can Michelle lift Harry Reid’s from the pits of despair? Harry thinks so: although, his supporters are highly skeptical.

“We’re hurting,” said Tami Thompson, a supporter worried about Reid’s future. “And when we’re hurting, we want to find someone to blame.”

Kim Henrick, a Reno voter, called Reid a “good and decent” man who has used his leadership position to benefit Nevada. While she’ll vote for him, she’s not confident he’ll win.

“I am worried,” she said. “In fact, I feel he probably won’t win. And I think it’s a shame.”

Michelle opened with brief remarks that praised Reid:

One of my favorite people in the world.

“Over the years, he has been a tireless advocate on behalf of women,” she said. “This state and this country are lucky to have Harry Reid working on our behalf in Washington.”

Michelle stressed Reid’s and her husband’s tireless and questionably unethical work to pass the highly unpopular Nationalization of Health Care. Stressing the advantages for women and children in the bill, Michelle brought up some obscure features of the bill.

Public policy that ensures gender equality in health care and the work force not only benefits the women it’s meant to protect, but it also strengthens the social fabric of the country.

“That’s part of the reason so many people fought so hard to pass health reform,” she said, adding that women no longer will be denied coverage at a faster pace than men because of pre-existing conditions and won’t be forced to pay more for the same coverage.

At the conclusion, Michelle worked the crowd along the rope walk and the same music played that was used during her husband’s campaign for the presidency.

Reid, who has shown dismal numbers in the polls offered his own view of the race.

We have five months to go

In Las Vegas on Tuesday, speaking to a crowd of less than 300,  Michelle delivered the most prophetic and insightful line of her career.

Presidents can’t do anything if the don’t have a good team, and Senator Reid, is part of that team

Thank you Michelle for the honesty.

Here in lies an interesting point. The Reids, Dodds, and Byrds of the world are terrible for the country, but really good at stealing from the other 49 states to bring pork back to their voters. So many folks hate congress in general but see the problem as something limited to who everybody else is sending to Washington. Are we as a people upset enough to vote out our own porktastic leaders? I hope the answer is yes, but I aint holding my breaths.

Amazing that Dirty Harry would turn to someone who hasn’t seen anything good come out of this country. I think she meant before 0-bama came into office but now I guess she would say everything is wonderful. What a load of garbage. Good things will begin to happen in November when America tells 0-bama his days are numbered and we say adios to Reid and Boxer.

Holding a womens summit in a city with legalized prostitution?

The problem is that the American people no longer have any avenue to sue our own Government, unless the Government itself allows it.

There is a phrase in the Consitution… that taxes can be spent “on the General Welfare”… which the Founders intended to mean that it must help ALL of the taxpayers, not a select few… as how can Pork used to build an Office in New York for a retiring Congresscritter, help me out in Colorado? (Congress reads this as an excuse for limitless spending, when it was actualy meant as a limit to how they could spend money).

But because we have no real avenue to “petition for redress” any longer… and the only restraint on the Federal Government, is the Federal Government itself, we are in trouble.

“We’re hurting,” said Tami Thompson, a supporter worried about Reid’s future. “And when we’re hurting, we want to find someone to blame.”

I think that kind of says it all about the left and their tactics and strategy for anything.

The kiss of death.

Let us all hope that The Obama *Wookie* is as toxic as her husband…

What Nevada needs is a replacement for Harry Reid. Harry is OLD hat, OLD politics. He is losing because of the gamble he took in overlooking the will of the people he represents. While over 70% of the populace did NOT want the Obama health bill passed, Reid ignored his constituents and voted for it anyway.

Now his constituents are looking at Republican, conservative, younger replacement. Let Reid out to pasture in peace.

And as for Lady O, she is just nobody at all.

Harry was no doubt DESPERATELY hoping that illegals would be full fledged American voters–(the LEGAL kind, that is) by November. Although many will probably succeed in voting for him anyhow, it may not be enough. The left lost Tiny Tom a while back. Let’s pray Reid joins him.

The smell of desperation, just like that of sweaty gym socks leaves a lasting impression. Not all lasting impressions are good! MO and HR really do deserve each other.

Skookum… please, next time can we have a picture of BO? This one is NOT to be viewed sober.

What goes on in Vegas – stays in Vegas – or so they say. There’s no question that Reid has gone on long enough and needs to stay in Vegas after this election. And TERM LIMITS for all the rest!

Dirty Harry stated that white unemployed men are prone to beating up their wives. I can hear him now; I’m a former boxer and if you don’t vote for me- the wife gets it.

In other news, taxpayers smell, the war is lost, Rush and I raised a ton of money for Marine kids, and the Bummer can speak negro.

This poseur is priceless!

OIL guy from ALBERTA: hi, i heard news of the saw that was cutting a pipe got stuck in the pipe, bye 🙄

I Love Bees: Howdy, yup I saw that(pun). That’s a conduit they first started on. There’s another on the other side. A duplicate. Of course, the 21″ is the riser. The saw pinch could be from the lever advantage due to the length from the hydraulic claw cut or the wiring and extremely tough hydraulic lines inside the conduit. Did you see all nitrogen tanks all over the bop assembly? As I once explained to Mata, that’s the fail safe, which of course, was neither.

The wife and I just got back from an Alaskan cruise. The Alaskans named a coffee after Skookum. I saw it in several stores up there.

OIL guy from ALBERTA: hi thank’s again, they seem to encounter all kinds of problems; MATA was mentionning about KEVIN COSTNER involvment in the cleaning with some kind of vacuum they had created the design,to scoop the oil; what will they do with the oil, is it recycleble for any purpuses?. bye 🙄

I did some GOTV stuff walking precincts in Henderson County for McCain/Palin (bussed in from SoCal), I think a lot of GOP voters sat it out. I’m pretty sure they regret it now.

of course calling for cancelling the conventions where people go to spend the kid’s college money
was a stick in the eye to the workers there…

At least he’ll get the Star Wars bar vote.

And Reid will get the vote of any registered Sasquatchs although I doubt many of them visit Neveda other than Michelle…

In truth, Harry hasn’t really profited Nevada much at all since he got in is lofty position. Nor has he been representing his consituients all that much. He is too busy playing the party bigwig, setting agendas and making backroom deals.

Harry will be a footnote in history.
