My son John is home on leave before he heads out to the “rockpile”. So if yer wonderin why my comments are short and far between, that b why.

PATVANN please say thank you to your son for us ,good day,the wind and cold is here now,bye 🙄

CURT the picture above is unique wow,bye 🙄

@Patvann:

Have your wife, daughter and everyone give him a big hug for me, you do the big bear hug thing and then all could repeat, if you wish!! 😉

We’ve had a busy couple of weeks, new great-granddaughter arrived, family came in from Colorado and we all packed up and went to Missouri, just got back and I somehow managed to get the flu.

My furniture is all moved around and my rugs are rolled up because our little granddaughter is now flying around in her walker and I don’t feel up to putting everything back together again, it will wait.

Hope everyone enjoyed Easter with family, bet John is fantastic on an egg hunt, did he share?

Although the picture is currently unique, in future years it will be representative of a lot of homes in America if Obama and his socialist minions continue to foist their will upon the American public. The only thing that will be different is the picture on the wall… it will be one of “King Obama” probably in ObaMao Pajama with sickle and hammer scepter. 😈

I believe “King Obama,” thinking the sickle and hammer might be a bit much at this point, is standing in the doorway with a bat in his hand ready to make life a bit worse for the already beaten down man. That’s Geithner in the window hauling away his last remnants not wanting to be a witness to the rest of it.

PV, tell your son that there are many of us that are proud of him and that we at home will do our best to maintain the Constitution so that the efforts of the Patriots in uniform are not wasted.

My first impression was the Jack of Hearts on the wall should be changed to the ‘suicide Jack’. That is the one that appears to have the sword running through his head. Jack of clubs, I think.

The Obama house of cards shall come crumbling down….unfortunately, it’ll bring down other’s homes as well.

Looks to me to be a fellow with a bad gambling problem. He’s lost everything, including his wife and children, and is about to lose his health to an enforcer of the loan shark to whom he owes money.

His heart is tortured…

Hey, taking advantage of the open thread. I have a friend from Brazil looking for a good American history book. I tried a few other threads and got some recommendations, but nothing seemed to fit. Anyone know of a book that would be good for someone from a foreign perspective?

Thanks in advance…

@Brother Bob:

I have a friend from Brazil looking for a good American history book.

Well, Brother Bob, I can certainly help you in your quest.

For general history from Columbus through The War on Terror I would recommend “A Patriot’s History of the United States” by Larry Schweikart.

I would also recommend “America: The Last Best Hope Vol I & Vol II” by William Bennett.

All three of these books, while lengthy, don’t devote a huge amount of time or space to any particular time period or event. They are, in many ways, a highlight reel of US history giving the reader a brief glimpse and then moving on. I found myself bookmarking and going to the Interwebz to research things that piqued my interest.

There is a third book in the Bennett series which I have not purchased and read yet so I cannot tell you anything for sure. If it’s like the first two then it will be excellent. The title is “A Century Turns: New Hopes, New Fears”.

If your friend is interested in Franklin, Jefferson, and Washington, I would strongly recommend “The Real Ben Franklin”,“The Real Thomas Jefferson”, and “The Real George Washington”.

Patvann, thank your son for me. So in awe of what he does.

Does anyone know the title/artist/origin of the picture in this post? It almost has a Nighthawks feel to me.

@ Aye,

Many thanks, sir!

Something happened down in New Orleans today….

Mrs. P gave her rebuttal to our glass jawed President.

It was…delicious 8)

Holy shit ❗ Now I have to miss Idol because these creeps are going to be on hogging the show from the real talent. 😈 {{{{gag}}}} I can’t stand to look a them. Watch the ratings drop on that night. 😛

I’m watching the old documentary on Waco that is being played on Direct TV Doc channel 263. I remember watching it the first time and knowing then the feds were lying about their actions, as they did at Ruby Ridge.

This is something that was a partial motivation and source for my novel “REVOLT” (www.revoltthebook.com). Can the government be so aggressive and murderous? Not during a Republican administration, but during a liberal socialist type aggressive democratic administration? Absolutely.

My book is about a time when this type of behavior is actually supported by a scared, manipulated and confused populations. Thankfully, a lot of Republicans stood up during the congressional investigations to make people tell the truth. It was a bad operation developed for political reasons that went horribly wrong.

If not careful, it could happen again as the federal law enforcement agencies find themselves further politicized. It should be required viewing. Be vigilant.

Oh, and notice that Schumer and most democrats supported the attacks.

From a customer, this was in the Aspen paper, one of the most Liberal holes in the world. I have worked there every spring for over 20 years. For me it is hilarious! To think that it was in the paper, oh man, the times they are a changin!

Thanks Missy, if the revolution (voting type) is taking root in Aspen, it is really catching on fire. Perhaps one of our Field Grade Officers might send Mr. Hubbel an email and introduce him to the site. Maybe ask him if he wants to fire one off for us.

This is the kind of stuff that gets me fired up! Yippee!

Long live the Republic!
