This article comes with a fantastic timeline of links to the recent action along the border area. VERY worth reading!

The US continues to target al Qaeda and Taliban safe houses and training camps in Pakistan’s Taliban-controlled tribal areas. The latest attack killed nine, including six “foreign militants” – a reference to al Qaeda operatives.

At least two missiles were reported to have been fired at two known Taliban safe houses in the village of Tati near the city of Miramshah. A Reuters reporter saw an unmanned US Predator aircraft flying in the area and conducting the attack.

“The attack targeted the house of a local Taliban commander named Hafiz Sahar Gul,” The News reported. Three member of Gul’s family and six al Qaeda operatives were killed in the strike, according to Pakistani sources. No senior Taliban or al Qaeda leaders have been identified as killed.

FYI – It is 9pm Oct. 9 and I just visited the Drudge Report – He is following:

WASH TIMES Friday: Obama secretly tried to sway Iraqi government to ignore Bush deal on keeping troops in Iraq… Developing…

This probably the first violation of the Logan Act story, but maybe new info is added.

Good Night, ZachJonesIsHome

Sorta old news, ZachJones… it was the middle of last month the stories hit about Obama requesting a delay in the withdrawal.

According to a World Net Daily article in that era, the Obama camp denied slowing the withdrawal schedule (presumably so that it was all on his POTUS watch to gain political favor) and said they wanted to slow the SOFA agreement.

The SOFA agreement is, IMHO, no better than delaying the troops. But that’s neither here nor there. The Iraqis work on their schedule, and with those they think will be more beneficial to their interests.

Now, if Drudge is on some new tactic… I’d like to know what it is. As would the rest of the world. Because I find it hard to believe Drudge is 3 weeks behind in news.
