Back on March 22 one of our great authors to Flopping Aces, Skye (and owner of her own blog MidnightBlue) was assaulted while photographing the weekly pro-troop rally in West Chester, PA. She gave a short description at the time:
beautiful day for a rally that turned ugly when a peace protester crossed the line from ugly remarks to violence.
Snarky retorts, name calling and mis characterizations by the CCPM are common place events in my 7 month documentary of this rally. Yesterday crossed the line, when I was struck twice by a peace protester. I can deal with all the above, but will NOT tolerate any form of violence against my person. I am consulting legal advice on this matter.
In short the jackass, John Meicht, slapped Skye while she was photographing him. The police arrived soon after and the idiot decided to shove the cop which had the usual result:

Well, news today on his court date:
David F. Cleveland, 48, of West Chester, entered into a 60-day summary agreement in which he would agree to plead guilty to summary charges stemming from a March 22 altercation at the weekly dueling protests Uptown. Cleveland, a member of the Chester County Peace Movement, was charged with Failure to Disperse on Official Order and Disorderly Conduct after he allegedly disobeyed direct orders from Ofc. Jason O’Neill as a fellow peacenik protester, John Meicht, was taken into custody.According to the Criminal Complaint, Cleveland “had followed (the officers) across High Street to the patrol vehicle” where Meicht was secured after being placed under arrest. Cleveland “was visibly agitated and approximately three feet away from (Ofc. O’Neill)” and was “yelling and screaming about the arrest of Meicht and waving his arm and pointing his finger.”Cleveland was ordered to get away from the officers and was reportedly growing “more agitated and aggressive.” Eventually, he was placed under arrest, however not before allegedly “pushing off the vehicle with his body and resisting efforts to handcuff him.”Cleveland’s case was continued until July 15 (15-1-01, CR-0000087-08).
Meicht, 62, of West Chester, was charged with Simple Assault, Resisting Arrest, REAP, Disorderly Conduct, and Harassment. A prelim in his case is scheduled for Friday at 15-1-04 (15-1-04, CR-0000101-08). It’s not entirely clear as to why both cases were filed in different courts, though at least Meicht will be in front of a judge who is probably sympathetic to his cause
Any idea where the loyalty of the above reporting blogger lies? Sure isn’t with those who support the troops I stand corrected. The blogger, Creighton Rabs at West Chester Unplugged, is fully behind Skye and the rest of the pro-troop crowd.
Lets just hope this judge doesn’t let his partisanship get in the way of justice…..yeah, I know. We all know it will but we can still hope.

To bad some of my old Shipmates and I were not there. But we may have ended up in jail. We would have pounded said scumbag liberal into the pavement.
It’s not the man’s fault. It is OUR fault for not understanding that when liberals protest for free speech rights and civil liberties they only mean THEIR freedoms. In fact, many of them feel that OUR freedoms should be taken away from us since obviously we don’t know how truly wise THEY are.
This sad case is yet one more in a long list of examples of the fascism of the left that causes them to think that their rights are more important than anyone elses.

Has anyone vetted this “vet”? With so many phonies it might be worthwhile to investigate. Might be another forthcoming charge.

Meicht is lucky that I wasn’t there alongside Skye to witness his little transgression. He would have quickly been on the receiving end of a Krav-Maga-laced punch to the head that would have dislodged the last 4 teeth in his mouth. A 6’1″, 220lb Senior Citizen Moonbat is no match for a piece of Yiddish Steel.

This blogger apparently has some sense of the Chester courts and his opinion that the Judge would be more sympathetic to the defendant than others may or may not be an indication of their leanings.

As the person who wrote the piece regarding the “sympathetic judge” plight, I respectfully submit that I am very much pro-troops and personally think the anti-war crowd in West Chester is a collection of morons, idiots, and opressors of free speech. The reason I said that is because the District Judge who will be presiding over the matter is the only Democrat elected to serve as a District Court Judge in Chester County (which is still proudly red, thank you very much). I have observed her court over the past year, and can tell you that some of her decisions regarding criminal matters are a slap in the face to crime victims, cops, and law-abiding citizens alike. It’s no coincidence that more than a few defendants who have gotten breaks from this liberal idiot judge have re-offended and are right back in the system.
If you wanted to put that “sympathetic judge” comment in context, go to my blog and under the labels, click “15-1-04” to get an idea as to how much I hate that judge and the way she runs her court.
One such idiot recently wrote the local newspaper to complain about Mallard Fillmore being in the comics section instead of the editorial pages (though I, as I would suspect, fellow conservatives could say the same about Doonesbury). This particular individual, who is part of the peace-nik moron brigade, once showed up at these rallies to take notes of actions that HE found offensive. He has also complained to West Chester Borough Council about alleged abusive behavior by the pro-troop protesters, all of which are false. He also happens to serve on the Borough’s Planning Commission, which is one reason why West Chester is slowly gaining a reputation as the “Berkeley of Pennsylvania.” Combine a liberal-leaning college with politicians who make Hillary Rodham Clinton look conservative, and you wonder why I am, at times, embarrased to call West Chester home.
I have to agree with the previous comments in that the left wants free speech, but only if you agree with thier ridiculous views.
As far as tomorrow goes, I hope friends of Skye will show up for support, because she absolutely deserves it. I can warn you that the peace-nik moron brigade will have a few reps there, as was the case on Tuesday when the other guy got a deal (though, to be fair, his charges didn’t involve assaulting a woman or a cop).
No, it would be best if he spent some time in jail. This is so typical of these people. Remember the family of that Iraq veteran. His wife suffered a concussion from a kick to the head by that bimbo in boots. Big man. He can beat and win a fight with any woman on the block.

In my experience it is best to keep your distance from “peace activists” – they are the most violent bunch I have dealt with.

I know John Meicht. He is a good man. He served in Vietnam, where he was injured badly and watched many men die. Don’t any of you think, maybe, that being impugned and mocked as a “traitor” would be horribly painful and offensive to him, perhaps painful enough to make him lose his temper?

I know many good men that have served in Vietnam, saw death and were injured, my brother, a disabled vet, lost an eye and has a plastic forhead from his injuries. None have ever lost control of themselves and attacked women, that’s what a common bully does.
@ David, regardless, any Man that places hands on a Lady with intent to cause harm is a coward in my book. He was very fortunate that I was not present. No excuses for that are going to wash with me. Period. He would have been far smarter to have just walked away. He was lucky that the Cops got to him and I was otherwise employed elsewhere and not present.
