Daily Kos: Hate Traffickers

Loading

I found this article from E.J. Dionne in the Washington Post. For all intents and purposes, the author attempts to 1.) compare the “success” of the Daily Kos to that of Rush Limbaugh; and 2.) feebly justify the venom found by the minute on the site.

Nice try.

Effectively, Dionne tries to compare Rush Limbaugh, a respected and noted Conservative talk show host to the Left-wing internet site, the Daily Kos. Yet, the two couldn’t be anymore different than they are. The last time I checked, I didn’t think Rush was telling anyone to perform a certain sexual act upon one’s self, or using vulgarities and obscene name-calling those on the Left.

The Daily Kos is basically the internet equivalent of a disgusting foul-mouthed hooligan.

“I’m not in the habit of giving advice to Bill O’Reilly, but there’s always a first time: Liberal rage at Rush Limbaugh not only was useless, but it actually strengthened his credibility with the right. (I speak from experience.) Bill, I bet Markos loves what you’re doing.”

Seriously, what a stupid statement…

So essentially Dionne is imploring us on the conservative side of the blogosphere to merely bend over and take it. Excuse the implied vulgarity, but liberals will have to pry the keyboard from my cold, dead hands before I cease waging the good fight against the vitriol spewing forth from internet disgraces like the Daily Kos.

“Daily Kos is often described as liberal, but it is, more than anything, partisan. Its core assumption is that ideological conservatives made the Republican Party their vehicle and rallied in lock step against Democrats. The party of FDR and JFK needed to find the same discipline. The key litmus tests for Kos and his many allies in the blogosphere involve not long lists of issues developed by the American Civil Liberties Union or the AFL-CIO, but loyalty in standing up against Bush and doing what’s necessary to build a Democratic majority.”

This effectively is the crux of Dionne’s article as well as the crux of the “partisan” movement, as the author describes it. Essentially, it is this Bush Derangement Syndrome (BDS), or hatred of all things-Bush that is behind this far-Left movement. It is this almost insane belief that Bush is on par with such despots as Hitler, Pol Pot, and Saddam, that the Left clings to, like a child clings to a toy.

“Personally, I dislike the use of obscenity on the Web, and many online posts are way too nasty. But the right wing, suddenly so concerned with the niceties of political discourse, did not worry much about what its militants said about Clinton, Al Gore or John Kerry. Limbaugh even blamed the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, on a president who had been out of office for eight months. I’m still waiting for his apology.”

Unfortunately, Dionne isn’t kidding. In the world of the Left, not only do they denounce the War on Terror, but do not hold the Clinton administration accountable for not capturing Osama bin Laden and destroying al Qaeda training camps in Afghanistan in the 1990’s. Rather, their mealy-mouthed efforts to combat global Islamic terror was a failed bombing on a pharmaceutical company and plenty of shameful excuses that capturing bin Laden was not legal.

“Democratic candidates know they owe a debt to Moulitsas. They’re paying homage to him because he has started to beat Limbaugh and O’Reilly at their own game. No wonder O’Reilly is so annoyed.”

How disingenuous…no, the real reason that the Democrats are “paying homage” to the Daily Kos because they appreciate all the hate-trafficking site has done, but rather because they fear being alienated if those fringe-groups like the Daily Kos and MoveOn.org do not approve them.

As their recent actions of denying that the war on terror exists and attempting to cut off funding to the troops in Iraq, the Democrats are merely pandering to the perceived power on the far-Left.

Mistakenly, they are championing the “net-roots” movement and attempting to tap into the misguided, misdirected, yet DANGEROUS anger from the far-Left.

Let’s face it: the Daily Kos is dangerous to this country; in their attempt to bully the Left by forcing them to embrace their radical agenda, they are truly attempting to coerce a minority’s view on a majority of the American populace.
