WooHooo! Pablo Peredes the coward will be facing the music soon:

SAN DIEGO — The Navy has filed criminal charges against a sailor who refused deployment to the Persian Gulf last December because he said he was a conscientious objector.

The Navy has refused to classify Petty Officer 3rd Class Pablo Paredes as a conscientious objector. Criminal charges include absence without leave and missing the movement of a ship. Paredes’ request for Other than Honorable discharge in lieu of trial was also denied.

Paredes was supposed to sail on the USS Bonhomme Richard in December. He refused to board, saying he was opposed to the war in Iraq.

Paredes faces up to a year in jail. A court martial is set for May 11. Paredes’ supporters are planning a staged trial on May 10.
