New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, who recently banned larger than 16 oz. sodas in New York City: “if government’s purpose isn’t to improve the health and longevity of its citizens, I don’t know what its purpose is.” Classify this under, “I earned my nickname, Nanny Bloomberg.”
Jodi Miller: “White House spokesman Jay Carney said, that most of President Obama’s time is not spent campaigning, and he’s right. Most of the president’s time is spent playing golf, vacationing, apologizing to our enemies, and running our economy into the ground.”
Rush Limbaugh: “I’m a guy on the radio. What can I do? I can’t raise anybody’s taxes. I can’t send anybody off to war. I can’t force anybody to go out and buy a $50 light bulb. I can’t make anybody give up their car and buy an electric car. I can’t make anybody do anything, and yet I have to be destroyed.”

President Obama about some of his non-existent jobs legislation before Congress: “The only thing preventing us from passing these bills is the refusal by some in Congress to put country ahead of party.”
Congresswoman Maxine Waters: “If [banks] don’t come up with loan modifications and keep people in their homes that they’ve worked so hard for, we’re going to tax them out of business,”
Sen. John Kerry, D-mass.: “I believe this is, without question, the Tea Party downgrade. This is the Tea Party downgrade because a minority of people in the House of Representatives countered even the will of many Republicans in the United States Senate who were prepared to do a bigger deal.”
President Obama told a crowd at a battery plant in Holland, Michigan, that Republicans must “find a way to put country ahead of party.” Then he flew off to do 2 fundraisers.
Rep. Barbara Lee (D-Calif.) statement: “The current, so-called `debt crisis’ has been completely manufactured by House Republicans attempting to advance an extremist agenda. This should be a simple vote to allow the US Treasury to fund all of the programs and obligations of the entire federal government that are already in the law.”
Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi statement: “It is clear we must enter an era of austerity; to reduce the deficit through shared sacrifice.”
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid: “There’s no need to have a Democratic budget in my opinion. It would be foolish for us to do a budget at this stage.”
Ed Schultz: “You see, being from the south, you know what these code words are all about. To say something about food stamps is not about white folks, it’s about black folks. There’s no question about it.”
Herb Kohl: “A 401(k) savings account should not be used as a piggy bank.”
Radio talk show host Mike Malloy, not quite ready to join Obama in this new civility thing: “Rush Limbaugh choking on his throat fat – that you know, to me, that is not a threat. I can’t, I wish I could, but I can’t reach into his throat and jiggle up his throat fat so he suffocates. I can’t do it.”
