This Trump-Ukraine “Whistle-Blower” Story Is Ridiculous And It’s Going To Blow Up In The Media’s Face Again

You want to know why conservatives hate the liberal media and have no faith in many commentators on their own side? All you have to do is look at the reactions to this stupid story.

Yesterday, a supposed “bombshell” dropped via numerous anonymous sources that the much ballyhooed “whistle-blower” complaint against Trump involved him encouraging Ukraine’s new president to continue its corruption investigation into Joe Biden. To this point, we actually have no specifics saying Trump promised him anything after that request, or that if he did, that it was anything inappropriate. You would be remiss to not ask why it’s wrong to ask an ally to look into corruption involving U.S. citizens.

Let me quote myself responding to the most fleshed out account of what is claimed to have happened. This was posted late last night.

https://twitter.com/bonchieredstate/status/1174874450283683840

As per usual, the media are losing their minds. Trump was pressuring an ally to conduct an investigation! It’s unheard of and unprecedented! Who could ever do such a thing!?

Oh, I don’t know. Maybe the Obama administration when they were working with UK intelligence, including using foreign assets, to target Trump in 2016? That seems like much more of a big deal given the only real allegation here is that Trump asked Ukraine to keep an already occurring corruption probe going in which we have the target on tape admitting what he did. I was assured that what happened in 2016 was above board because the Obama administration had legitimate suspicions. You know who else has legitimate suspicions? President Trump, because again, it’s on freaking video.

But ask yourself this. Why is the corruption Trump was asking to be probed not the actual story here? Let me refresh your memory of exactly what we are dealing with.

Yes, that’s Joe Biden, on tape admitting he threatened to withhold $1B in loan guarantees from Ukraine if they didn’t fire a prosecutor that was close to taking down the company his son worked for. Seems pretty corrupt doesn’t it? Yet, the media yawned. They didn’t care at all. It was barely reported and the “fact-checkers” rushed to deliver half-true ratings, shilling for Biden as not being aware his son was a member of the board of the company. It was all predictable.

But Trump asks Ukraine to keep looking into the issue and amazingly, the media care. Not only do they care, they want him impeached for “treason” over it. Yes, that was an actual thing said on MSNBC’s Morning Joe this morning.

So to recap, being on video admitting to extorting Ukraine to protect one’s son is perfectly acceptable. Asking Ukraine to not drop their investigation into that corrupt action is impeachable. Makes sense. Wait, no, it doesn’t.

And as to this “whistle-blower,” he’s not one at all.

Dems saw the need to cover for Biden’s filthy corruption as Joe BRAGGED about how he held Ukraine’s $1.5 billion hostage until they fired the prosecutor who was going after Joe’s son’s business interest in Ukraine.*
So, what to do?
Leak a fake news story about how “some people did something” in Ukraine and Trump was behind it.
Ex Rep Trey Goudy was on the news this AM and was asked about this.
He directly blamed Rep Adam Schiff.
He said Adam leaks both true and false stories to the press.
No one should trust him as a source.
But he helps the “narrative” along so the lib media takes him down whole with no grain of salt.

Watch the media walk away from this narrative as soon as they realize how much behind it points to their saint Joe Biden.

As a reminder, in 2014 – not long after Ukraine’s US-endorsed and facilitated presidential coup – Joe’s son Hunter joined the board of directors of Burisma Holdings, the largest private gas producers in Ukraine.

Ukraine’s chief prosecutor serves a term of six years and can only be appointed and dismissed by the president with parliamentary consent; however in the case of Shokin, Joe Biden boasted before the CFR audience that he told Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and former Ukrainian prime minister Arseny Yatsenyuk sometime in late March 2016, “I’m telling you, you’re not getting the billion dollars,” unless they immediately sacked Shokin. To the glee of his CFR listeners who laughed audibly, Biden added, “Well, son of a bitch. He got fired!”

At the time the prosecutor got fired he was leading a wide-ranging corruption probe into the natural gas firm Burisma Holdings that employed Biden’s younger son, Hunter, as a board member.

@Nan G: They sop this stuff up, the prank on Schiff , the media is still waiting for the naked pictures of Trump to surface.

It’s going to blow up in the Democrat’s face. Their media partners have been working hard to keep this buried but their diversionary accusations against Trump are going to bring it to the forefront. And China. Ooops.

@Deplorable Me: Oh but what if it was a phone call with China promising tarriff delays if China investigates Biden and Kerrys kids?

@kitt: So long as the suspicions are not based solely on campaign oppo research and what the opposition WANTS to be true, no problem.

A WP opinion piece, dated September 20, 2019 – If Trump extorted a foreign leader for political gain, it’s impeachment time

Until now, I have been willing to accede to the judgment of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) to go slow on impeachment proceedings that are unpopular with voters and could imperil the Democratic majority. But if the new scandal involving President Trump and Ukraine is as bad as it seems — and that is, of course, a very big if at this early stage* — the House will have no choice but to impeach, consequences be damned.

Already, since the release of the Mueller report and the waning of the impeachment threat (despite damning evidence of obstruction of justice), Trump has become more brazen in flouting the law. In August, he expressed interest in holding the Group of Seven summit at his own Doral resort in Florida — a violation of the Constitution’s emoluments clause — and he allegedly told aides that he would pardon them if they broke the law to build his border wall. Charles Fried, solicitor general in the Reagan administration, observes that promising a pardon to induce illegality “is the essence of tyranny and lawlessness.” In September, Trump invoked a bogus claim of executive privilege to limit the congressional testimony of former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski, and he still refuses to comply with lawful requests for his financial records — most recently from the district attorney in Manhattan.

But all this is small change compared with what could be the next big scandal. On Wednesday, The Post reported that an intelligence community whistleblower had lodged a report alleging that Trump had made an improper “promise” to a foreign leader. This complaint was considered so troubling by a Trump-appointed inspector general that he asked that the acting director of national intelligence, Joseph Maguire, immediately forward the complaint to Congress, but Maguire refused to do so, reportedly on the advice of William Barr’s Justice Department. Then on Thursday night, The Post reported that the complaint centers on Ukraine.

*The “if” part could be a problem, if no one—including Congress—is ever allowed to know what was the matter of urgent concern. That seems to be the current strategy.

See the linked article for Trump’s video comments on the matter.

@Greg: It was Biden that extorted it was Biden that obstructed justice it was Biden that used our tax dollars to stop an investigation into pay for play and corruption.
For Trump to want that investigated is perfectly fine. Your democrat media cant cover for your front runners criminal behavior to enrich his dysfunctional kid.
We have his confession on tape Son of a bitch he got the prosecutor fired, with threats.
WP opinion seriously? A democrat rag.

The U.S. government was pressuring Ukraine to remove Viktor Shokin from his position as General Prosecutor as a matter of policy, because Shokin was blocking the investigation and prosecution of corrupt Ukrainian public and private figures. There were street demonstrations in Ukraine demanding his removal. Vitaly Kasko, Ukraine’s Deputy Prosecutor, actually resigned in protest of Shokin’s inaction and corrupt practices.

Add to that the fact that there was never any investigation of Burisma Holdings, the company that employed Biden’s son, for Biden to derail to begin with. The only real problem was that his son’s employment created the appearance of a possible conflict of interest—something that is now being fully exploited.

The entire story that Biden intervened on behalf of his son is a typical Trumpian disinformation campaign, much like the horse manure tale that it was actually the Clinton campaign and not the Trump campaign that colluded with the Russians. Trump’s peanut gallery regulars seem especially susceptible to such “mirroring” tactics. That’s why we see them used so frequently.

@Greg: So should Biden be investigated for extorting the Ukrainian government to stop investigating his son?

First you’ll need to deal with the fact that there was no Ukrainian government investigation of Biden’s son or the company he worked for to begin with. There’s no need to apply pressure to stop something that isn’t even happening.

Trump wants to build a scandal to damage Biden politically. An investigation would give him something to point to. He may or may not have offered someone something in return to get that—possibly the military assistance to counter Russian aggression that he has mysteriously withheld. If that were so, it would be extortion, or serious misuse of power.

If the “matter of urgent concern” is actually nothing improper and totally irrelevant, there’s a very simple way for Trump to prove that. It’s odd that he would have laws broken to hide evidence which would demonstrate there’s nothing to it.

@Greg: That isnt what the guy that got canned said….then there is the deal in China.
I would love to see what the alleged urgent concern is about. Funny Our President should be able to chat with other countries leaders without every conversation being leaked or making some snowflake wet himself.

@kitt, #11:

That would be Viktor Shokin, the same guy who was fired for failing to investigate corruption in high places? So what did this model citizen say?

September 20, 2019 – FOX News weighs in: Trump repeatedly asked Ukraine president to probe Biden’s son

@Greg:

The U.S. government was pressuring Ukraine to remove Viktor Shokin from his position as General Prosecutor as a matter of policy, because Shokin was blocking the investigation and prosecution of corrupt Ukrainian public and private figures.

Explain what business it was of the US if a Ukrainian prosecutor was corrupt? Sounds, looks and smells like typical liberal BS, Greg. Not quite credible.

No, they were getting close to Biden’s wunderkinder and cash flow so he used the power, influence and integrity of the United States of America to shut down a lawful investigation. Further, they influenced Ukraine to use bogus “black ledger” records to implicate Manafort. Now, perhaps Biden actually has nothing to do with it but there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with the US insisting they find out. Well, unless you’re Biden; then it’s kind of a concern.

First you’ll need to deal with the fact that there was no Ukrainian government investigation of Biden’s son or the company he worked for to begin with. There’s no need to apply pressure to stop something that isn’t even happening.

No, actually they were.

Fireworks! Rudy Giuliani BLASTS Chris Cuomo for CNN’s Refusal to Cover MASSIVE BIDEN FAMILY UKRAINIAN SCANDAL (VIDEO)

https://hotair.com/archives/allahpundit/2019/09/19/mysterious-whistleblower-complaint-involving-trump-foreign-leader/

You Just Can’t Make This Up! Joe Biden’s $1.5 Billion China-Ukraine Bribery Scandal That Was Ignored by Media is now President Trump’s Scandal!

From “Joe Biden’s 2020 Ukrainian nightmare”:

But Ukrainian officials tell me there was one crucial piece of information that Biden must have known but didn’t mention to his audience: The prosecutor he got fired was leading a wide-ranging corruption probe into the natural gas firm Burisma Holdings that employed Biden’s younger son, Hunter, as a board member.

Bullshit. There was no such investigation. Trump & Co have been vigorously twisting arms trying to have one created. The “matter of urgency” they’re trying to deep-six may directly relate to that effort.

Shokin told me in written answers to questions that, before he was fired as general prosecutor, he had made “specific plans” for the investigation that “included interrogations and other crime-investigation procedures into all members of the executive board, including Hunter Biden.”

Oh. He had specific plans for the investigation? I guess, then, he wasn’t “leading a wide-ranging corruption probe into the natural gas firm Burisma Holdings” after all. He had plans. Which is only what he claimed long after he’d been fired for comprehensive negligence in the matter of investigating corruption.

He added: “I would like to emphasize the fact that presumption of innocence is a principle in Ukraine” and that he couldn’t describe the evidence further.

Right. Because there wasn’t any. There wasn’t even an investigation.

Doesn’t it bother you that this guy is treating his readers as if they were complete idiots?

Then we’ve got “How the Obama White House engaged Ukraine to give Russia collusion narrative an early boost”.

Different article. Similar horse manure.

The agenda suggested the purpose was training and coordination. But Ukrainian participants said it didn’t take long — during the meetings and afterward — to realize the Americans’ objectives included two politically hot investigations: one that touched Vice President Joe Biden’s family and one that involved a lobbying firm linked closely to then-candidate Trump.

The allegation pretty much all there is, since the investigation of Burisma Holdings is purely imaginary.

On to: Fireworks! Rudy Giuliani BLASTS Chris Cuomo for CNN’s Refusal to Cover MASSIVE BIDEN FAMILY UKRAINIAN SCANDAL (VIDEO)

Perhaps better titled “Giuliani has a Hissy Fit.” The man is pathetic. He sold his soul to the devil. Aside from that, there’s not a damn thing in the article that’s even remotely substantive.

Rudy then went on to discuss Joe Biden’s bribery and extortion of the Ukrainian government.

What bribery, Rudy? What extortion? You saying it doesn’t make it so. There was no damn investigation involving Biden’s son to be stopped. Shokin only invented plans for such an investigation after he was fired, and because he was asked. Maybe Biden was told by a fortune teller that the idea would enter Shokin’s head at some point?

From Hot Air: “Is This What That Mysterious Whistleblower Complaint Involving Trump And A Foreign Leader Is About?”

Maybe. What the story is actually about at this point is the Trump administration’s extraordinary efforts to keep Congress from seeing a formal whistleblower report from an alarmed U.S. intelligence officer that the intelligence community’s Inspector General agrees is a matter of urgency. If it’s nothing, why stop it from going to Congress, as was required by law?

The story is that something here isn’t adding up. There are rumors what that might be about. They’re oddly consistent with the known facts of Rudy’s efforts to enlist Ukraine’s aid to sabotage Biden’s candidacy, and Trump’s unexplained withholding of military aid from the same. Maybe Giuliani should have traveled to Ukraine in drag, to avoid being recognized. He could have avoided all these problems.

From Gateway Pundit: “You Just Can’t Make This Up! Joe Biden’s $1.5 Billion China-Ukraine Bribery Scandal That Was Ignored by Media is now President Trump’s Scandal!”

Well, obviously you can, because that’s precisely what they’re doing in the article that follows. There was no $1.5 Billion China-Ukraine Bribery Scandal, other than the one Trump’s boys and girls are trying to cook up.

The above sources aren’t fit to line the bottom of a birdcage. I’ll take credible news and opinion outlets like the New York Times, the Washington Post, NBC, CBS, ABC, NPR, the BBC, or CNN over such patently biased garbage peddlers any day of the week, and I’ll keep my brain fully engaged as I read any of them.

@Greg: Greg is as dumb as the fake news media. Watch this develop and show how ignorant the left really is while trying to impeach President Trump. Greg, as the news comes out this week, you should go hide your lying face!

@Greg:

Bullshit. There was no such investigation. Trump & Co have been vigorously twisting arms trying to have one created.

Maybe. Maybe not (but probably so). Apparently, it needs to be investigated, doesn’t it? To KNOW. Don’t you have to investigate credible accusations?

You doth protest too much. Trump is not doing anything wrong or illegal and YOU want to redirect the implication (STRONG implication) of corruption away from Obama and Biden and try to lay it upon Trump.

Impeach, impeach, impeach, impeach, impeach, impeach, impeach, impeach, impeach, impeach… that’s you whiny, spoiled, crybaby liberal’s response to EVERYTHING. It’s gone the way of “racist!!”. Overused and absolutely meaningless. Win an election. THAT’S how you’ll get Trump out of office and you WON’T do it with the array of idiot garbage you have to choose from.

@Randy: From Greg:

I’ll take credible news and opinion outlets like the New York Times, the Washington Post, NBC, CBS, ABC, NPR, the BBC, or CNN

They informed him all about the Trump Campaign coordinating with Russia to steal the election for over 2 years. When Levin exposed there had to be a FISA warrant by using just Gregs News sources, Levin was called a conspiracy nut. Mueller was going to expose it all! There was the evidence right in front of Gregs eyes.
The coup failed the smear campaign continues, you know who got it right, not one of the sources in Gregs list, not one. Epoch times Journalist John Soloman ,Levin, Bongino, Tom Fitton and others shoved out of googles search engines.the more common ones picked it up like Hot air, gateway pundit, eventually Fox would grab the coat-tails.
Oh Greg is upset that Trump wants to investigate real criminals like Biden and Clinton. After Epstien was snuffed the Trips to Epstiens fun palaces made by Slick and other powerful people have fallen out of the news.
The theory being investigated that Epstien was a CIA or even Mossad tool continues, nothing like pedo dirt to keep those elites on the march to the NWO. Nothing left but dangling wires of the “security”cameras in Jeffys houses, they burned down the structures on his Island.
Trump calls conversation with Ukraine populated call it was not private, he knew it was not a private call.
He let the media know the whistle blower was not the only one listening.

@kitt: I have given Greg credit for being ignorant. But ignorant means they are devoid of facts. That means someone who continues their thought process in the presence of facts is stupid! Trump is far from stupid as Greg continues to profess. Trump pays many people to manage his businesses and taxes. He is squeaky clean. Failure to publish his taxes is just something to keep the people like Greg and the media Greg sources looking in the wrong direction while Trump accomplishes another coup. Trump has been setting up the media for years. They are so quick to publish something bad about him that they fail to check their sources. Polls show only people like Greg believe the garbage the NYT, and WP publish any more. As the election draws near, no one will believe they are a credible source at all.

@Randy:

As the election draws near, no one will believe they are a credible source at all.

Never under estimate Gregs capacity to cling to his fake news and socialism. 😉

October 22, 2019 – Democrats in impeachment inquiry shocked by latest testimony of key U.S. diplomat

The top U.S. diplomat in Ukraine provided House investigators Tuesday with what some lawmakers described as the most detailed and shocking account they’ve yet heard regarding President Trump’s attempt to pressure Ukraine to help investigate his political enemies, according to Democrats who left the secured hearing room.

“It was the most thorough account we had so far of the events we’ve been investigating,” said Rep. Tom Malinowski (D-N.J.). “It resolved any remaining doubts I have had.”

Rep. Harley Rouda (D-Laguna Beach) described audible gasps from lawmakers as William B. Taylor shared his 15-page opening statement. The statement itself has not been released…

Hopefully it will be.

@Greg: Why don’t they make it public? Why all the secrecy? Why don’t they have a vote so Republicans can call witnesses? Apparently, Democrats are deathly afraid of the light of day being shed on their desecration of the Constitution. Democrats cannot even admit that Schiff is a filthy liar. They LIVE by lies.

@Greg: Right! It is one thing to state something without cross examination. You are talking about the top diplomat (Obama assigned) that has been reassigned due to actively working against the state department vision. Wait until she has to answer real questions.

There is the transcript and what Zelensky has said about the phone call. That’s it; THAT’S the reality, not what Democrats think Trump would do if he wanted to. Facts are facts and what the Democrats are trying to do is allow the imagination of anti-Trump haters to run away with them and build POPULAR support (in place of evidencesupport) for impeachment, like it is a popularity contest.

Ambassador William B. Taylor’s full opening statement

Trump has destroyed his own administration, simply by being Trump.

@Greg: So much for secret testimony, huh? Another guy with second or third hand information giving his opinion.

The transcript and Zelensky tell a different story. Facts vs. Democrats.

Taylor isn’t just “some guy”. He’s the U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine, who was observing the situation from the inside. His testimony only confirms what the telephone notes and text messages with Sondland had already told us.

@Greg: He is not someone with any first hand knowledge that Trump was involved in any quid pro quo or any other questionable act. This is because there never was any. Again, the transcript and Zelensky verify that beyond any doubt. Democrats trying to use impeachment to affect the 2020 election is just like their collusion with Russia, Ukraine, Britain, Italy and Australia to change the outcome of the 2016 election.

Why do Democrats hate our system of government, Greg?

@Deplorable Me: Its too late way too late for the Dems hopes of impeachment super secret unless they can take a sentence out of an hours testimony and twist it. any one that listens to these news reports is looney tunes, for example our resident troll.
Quick side bar: seems silicon valley is back to interfering with an election.
Tulsi Gabbard’s YouTube videos were hidden from search results, Video Removed from Twitter When it Started Trending
courtesy of Steven Crowder

@kitt: Well, either Silicon Valley will do what Hillary tells them to do or Hillary will have them killed. Why that has-ben hag still has so much clout (or ever did) is beyond me. But, then again, I’m not a groveling liberal.

What don’t you understand about a president misusing his power of office by making military aid to a country with territory under siege by a foreign power contingent upon initiating and publicly announcing an investigation of his most likely election opponent?

Everyone involved understood the nature of the proposition. Those who couldn’t quite believe it were made to understand.

Gordon Sondland may have perjured himself. He will likely be given an opportunity to clarify his testimony. Others will be required to testify under oath. John Bolton, William Barr, John Podesta, Rudy Giuliani… They’re not all going to throw themselves on their swords for Donald Trump.

It’s not like this one thing is the entire issue. It’s just the one thing that’s simple enough for anyone to easily understand.

@Greg: Actually Greg, only lefties and never TRUMPERS understood it the way you do. Even the Ukrainians didn’t take it the way you do. In addition, Trump has a duty to investigate any election issues with the 2016 election. Things like Obama, Biden and Clinton interfering with the election which is what this is and was.

@Greg:

What don’t you understand about a president misusing his power of office by making military aid to a country with territory under siege by a foreign power contingent upon initiating and publicly announcing an investigation of his most likely election opponent?

What don’t you understand about corruption? Biden extorted Ukraine to stop an investigation that involved his son. You seem OK with that. That’s why you and people like you should not be choosing our leaders.

The Ukrainians were never aware that Trump was withholding any funds to assure the corruption was being addressed and to get information on interference in the 2016 election. Remember when you were so concerned with foreign governments interfering in our elections? Well, Trump has a real concern and wants to get to the bottom of it, not just use it as a political accusation. There IS a difference. One is purely political and the other can be used to prevent further interference. But you can’t seem to grasp that.

Gordon Sondland may have perjured himself. He will likely be given an opportunity to clarify his testimony. Others will be required to testify under oath. John Bolton, William Barr, John Podesta, Rudy Giuliani… They’re not all going to throw themselves on their swords for Donald Trump.

Confirming that Democrats are lying and they KNOW they are lying is not perjury. It’s called “truth”. We would all be better off if Democrats used it more often.
