From the Global Post, this appears to be footage from immediately after Qaddafi’s capture right up until he arrived at the truck that appears in the video that went viral yesterday.
It seems pretty clear at this point that he was executed shortly thereafter by the armed forces which captured him. While shots can be heard in the background, the forces surrounding Qaddafi did not react as if they were under fire. It’s likely that this was celebratory gunfire, and if there was any sort of “crossfire” that took Qaddafi out, then it was from a circular firing squad of Libyan forces. Or more likely he was just executed at close range.
Legal or not, justice was done – good riddance. But hearing the chants of “Allah akbar” is a not so subtle reminder that we may end up regretting our role in this.

What they did is a war crime, since when is executing unarmed prisoners
who are begging for their life ‘justice’?
To me the real problem now is the rebel “army” -who barely mastered even the most basic tactics- will NOT be able to bring peace and security to the country, as this force will likely stress along tribal/clan lines… and there was a lot of ongoing spats Gaddafi kept a lid on by playing one off against another.
The only thing holding this force together was hatred of Gaddafi… what now
The scene was very chaotic…frenzied…. adrenalin charged…an out of control mob… very frightening…. just by watching the ‘rebel’ mob surrounding him they were all so ‘frantic’ the viewer can tell their mentality, without really knowing what they were saying… what the ‘end game’ was going to be…. this is what ‘mob mentality’ is… I wonder if there was ever any ‘discussion’ of what to do with him should he be captured?
These people (rebels) believe literally, in an eye for an eye “justice” mentality… that is not to say what they did was right or wrong….personally, I do not know what the answer to that question is…perhaps this is how the justice system for evil dictators in Libya is handled… many middle east countries will kill you based on what someone else accused you of….Christians are being killed for being Christians….a Cartoon invites a death penalty… in some cases just being a US citizen… Libya isn’t the US by the way…
Sadly there are people killed (by other people) right here in the US (and many other countries) for pitifully less crimes… we hear about it all the time…..Gangs that roam our streets commit ‘retaliation’ killings all the time…drug and alcohol induced violence… domestic violence…plain evil people…have we evolved to a point where a life means nothing to some? It seems so…
… heck there was a murder here several years ago because some guy was wearing a rival motorcycle gang tee shirt in a bar where another two were not happy about, he got shot dead over this, and the irony was the guy didn’t belong to a gang at all, he was just wearing a tee shirt!…
….every where there are a lot of “senseless crimes” committed… on the whole here in the US lawful (civilized) citizens and our Constitution does not condone it…. US citizens are pretty lucky…. and this is why Biden is an idiot.
