Less newsworthy, huh?
On Sunday December 17, 2012, 2 days after the CT shooting, a man went to a restaurant in San Antonio to kill his X-girlfriend. After he shot her, most of the people in the restaurant fled next door to a theater. The gunman followed them and entered the theater so he could shoot more people. He started shooting and people in the theater started running and screaming. It’s like the Aurora, CO theater story plus a restaurant!
Now aren’t you wondering why this isn’t a lead story in the national media along with the school shooting?
There was an off duty county deputy at the theater. SHE pulled out her gun and shot the man 4 times before he had a chance to kill anyone. So since this story makes the point that the best thing to stop a bad person with a gun is a good person with a gun, the media is treating it like it never happened.
Only the local media covered it. The city is giving her a medal next week. Just thought you’d like to know.
Ah, the hypocrisy of the grossly misinformed, with an agenda, lives on…
And…
GOD BLESS that courageous woman…with a GUN…Who Saved Lives!!!
I accept this as clear evidence supporting the proposition that trained law enforcement personnel should be armed. I don’t accept it as clear evidence that the guy running the buttered popcorn machine should be.
@Greg:
Perhaps you are unaware, being the clueless liberal you are, that there are many, many civilians that are better trained in the use of a firearm than are some law enforcement officers. LEOs have to qualify during their academy training, but most of them never use their service revolvers again except for the one time they draw them during annual qualification. Someone, a private citizen, who hits the firing range at least once a month has more experience than a county deputy.
But don’t let facts get in your way, Greggie.
The real reason is that roughly 50 percent of us realize/understand that the MSM and Democratic Party are just a different tentacle of the same jellyfish…
To some degree that is why it takes twice the effort on our part to win this battle. One is to understand these things for ourselves and secondly trying show/educate the other 50 percent of the population, which is the difficult part.
@retire05, #3:
Being a competent law enforcement officer involves a great deal more than proficiency with a weapon on a firing range. Skill at hitting a target doesn’t automatically correlate with good judgement. I suspect there’s little correlation at all.
Which is why you shouldn’t ever be allowed to own a gun yourself Greg.
@rich (the conservative one), #6:
As I might have mentioned at some point, there’s been no point during the past 40 years when I haven’t owned a firearm. There’s a firearm less than 6 feet from where I’m presently sitting. It’s hanging on the wall, just above the door of the room I’m in.
Some people really need to examine their assumptions more closely. I have no idea why they’re made.
GREG
it’s because you try to cover any failure of your side, it’s not a normal behavior, so you get hit
by the critics who can see the game you’re playing,
that woman knew what she had to do and the trouble they would throw at her for using her gun
to kill a criminal gone basurk, and she had the courage to do the right thing
those proud AMERICAN SHOULD BE DECORATED FOR ALL THE PEOPLE TO KNOW, THEY ARE THE BEST TO PROTECT AMERICA WHEN SHE CALL ON THEM.
SHAME ON THOSE MEDIAS THEY LOST CREDIBILITY LONG TIME AGO. THEY ARE OF NO INTEREST ANYMORE, THEY FAIL THE PEOPLE,
GONE IS THE REAL JOURNALIST WHO SEEK FOR TRUTH SO TO INFORM THE PEOPLE,
ONLY FOX REMAIN TRUE TO THEIR WORDS, FAIR BALANCE AND UNAFRAID
@Greg:
You seem to think that the presentation of a LE badge conveys with it some higher level of good judgement, over and above what the people they serve have. You know, like former military, teachers, etc. Yes, yes, that must be it. There is no way, in your small liberal mind, that someone could possess good judgement equal to a police officer or sheriff’s deputy.
My God, Greggie, you are a nitwit.
@Greg: #7: Does that mean that it is a non-firing replica or de-milled weapon hung for decorative value? If not a non-functioning weapon, I wonder why a committed person such as yourself did not emphasize the addition of at least a trigger lock or gun lock through the open chamber. I live in a home with a rambunctious 11 year old grandson who does not even know that a rifle and shotgun are secured in the gun safe or a hand gun secured in a safe (he does not even know the safe is in my night stand) by my bed. Please help us all understand your SOP to prevent abuse of the weapons these past 40 years. I ask this not as a backhanded dig but as a committed gun owner always looking for ways to enjoy my sport and protect my weapons from unsafe or unauthorized use.
By the by, the most dangerous person with a gun are the many LEOs (police officers) who are not “active shooter” trained and continually practiced. The shooting in NYC Times Square several months ago resulted in numerous (~9 innocent civilians hit in Aug., 2012).
How any police officer could fire in always crowded Time Square is a wonder to me. In this world of the public servant, we must have the presence of mind to know when to hold our fire and if necessary take the hit to preclude doing more damage than the potential shooter bad-guy. Every situation is different, but this was ridiculous.
could it be the last killing, NEWTON, THE FIREFIGHTER, THE SAN ANTONIO,
ARE LOOKING SO ALIKE TO HAVE CONNECTED THE 3 KILLERS
IN WHAT SOME CALLED COPYCAT ACTIONS,
I’M ALMOST TEMPTED TO HAVE THOSE 3 CONNECTED BY BRAIN WAVES,
LIKE ONE IS THE FIRST ON THE BLACK MOON, THE SECOND READ THE NEWS ON THE FIRST MASSACRE WHICH EXCITE HIM BY HAVINGPROJECTIONING IT IN HIS BRAIN. AND NUMBER 3 RED THE TWO PREVIOUS AND IS
TURNING ITO A MONSTER KILLER WANTING TO KILL MORE AND BEAT THE PREVIOUS ODDS,
NA IMPOSSIBLE, OR IS IT, IF YOU BELIEVE HELL EXIST, OR THE 3 HAVE BEEN INDOCTRINATED TO HATE AND KILL RELIGION IN SOME WAY, SOME TIMES,
Marine72
the guy was at 8 feet from the POLICE OFFICERS, HE WOULD HAVE SHOT THEM,
AND I read they hit flower pots which broke and pieces went flying onto other civilians,
hope you have a good year coming, this last day of 2012 ended with a bang a bad bang
bye

What if the cop wasn’t there, and the only one with a gun was the “…guy running the buttered popcorn machine….” ?
I like the idea that where I live there probably are plenty of guns around me, in case something like that happens where I am at the time.
@rich (the conservative one): #6
It took me a while to quit laughing before I could reply to your LOL comment. It reminded me of the gun store owner who won’t sell to anybody who voted for obama. He has a very logical reason why he won’t.

Did you mean that you don’t know why some assumptions are made, or you don’t know why guns are made? That statement could be read either way. I’m guessing that you have no idea why guns were made, which is why you should NEVER buy the stuff they call ammo for the gun hanging on your wall.
What a great story. Maybe ‘Dave’ Gregory could cover it when he surfaces from his rat hole.
Remember the mall shooter who recently killed two people? He was confronted by an armed individual. Upon that happening he ran to a stairwell and killed himself. But the left keeps saying firearms don’t save lives, so that couldn’t have been what happened, right?
I would be interested to know those background, how did they get to that point, where they influence by FOREIGNERS’S RELIGION? OR OTHER SOURCE
IT COULD MAKE THE INCOMPREHENSIVE ENDING UNDERSTOOD,
BECAUSE IT SEEM TO HAVE GROWN IN THE LAST 4 YEARS,
