Secretary of State John Kerry visited France today to show solidarity with the nation after last week’s terror attacks.

“I represent a nation grateful each day that France is our oldest ally,” Kerry said.

He then introduced his friend, musician James Taylor, who performed his hit “You’ve Got a Friend,” starting with several bars of the French national anthem.

The event was called an “Hommage de John Kerry a Paris,” AP reported.

The event at the Hotel de Ville, the city hall of Paris, came less than a week after the administration declined to send Kerry or any other high-profile official to an anti-terror rally in Paris.

Kerry also paid tribute to the victims of the Charlie Hebdo and Kosher market attacks, saying “I really wanted to come here and share a hug with all of Paris and all friends.”

He previously said that he would not be offering an apology for the administration no-showing the rally, calling his trip a “big hug” from the U.S. to France.

Former U.N. Ambassador John Bolton weighed in last night on Kerry’s diplomatic stance, telling Greta Van Susteren that the administration’s policies have gone from “really ridiculous to unbelievable.”

A reset button that isn’t a reset button and James Taylor singing “You got a friend”! This is just what one should expect from a community organizer. This administration should all be wearing rubber noses and clown suits so there would not be any mistakes as to who and what they are.

I’d bet if Fred Rogers were still alive he would have been the first choice instead of Taylor.
