None of this bullshit matters, his models say.
Professor Yitzhak Ben Israel of Tel Aviv University, who also serves on the research and development advisory board for Teva Pharmaceutical Industries, plotted the rates of new coronavirus infections of the U.S., U.K., Sweden, Italy, Israel, Switzerland, France, Germany, and Spain. The numbers told a shocking story: irrespective of whether the country quarantined like Israel, or went about business as usual like Sweden, coronavirus peaked and subsided in the exact same way. In the exact, same, way. His graphs show that all countries experienced seemingly identical coronavirus infection patterns, with the number of infected peaking in the sixth week and rapidly subsiding by the eighth week.
The Wuhan Virus follows its own pattern, he told Mako, an Israeli news agency. It is a fixed pattern that is not dependent on freedom or quarantine. “There is a decline in the number of infections even [in countries] without closures, and it is similar to the countries with closures,” he wrote in his paper.
Meanwhile, a new paper shows that lockdowns do nothing to “flatten the curve” — all they do is delay the exact same outbreak pattern until six months later.
Which makes demands that the world remain in lockdown until 2022 (!!!!) all the more insane.
New Science paper:
*Strongest* lockdown *not* best. A really successful lockdown means almost no one gets infected in 1st wave, so the 2nd wave becomes almost as bad as not doing anything.
1st wave destroys economy
2nd wave kills just like doing nothing, just half year later pic.twitter.com/wu9vBYcVYs— Bjorn Lomborg (@BjornLomborg) April 14, 2020
Given that the most passionate enthusiasts for a semi-permanent shutdown just happen to be partisan liberal Democrats and insanely butthurt NeverTrumpers (now also Democrats), one begins to suspect that the public health might not be the primary reason for these demands.
It doesn’t help when the leftwing media just flat-out admits that Democrats are loving the political opportunities afforded by the economic collapse they engineered.
They accidentally said the quiet part out loud. https://t.co/DkMs1MgltX

Oh, and, by the way:
The Trans Lobby wants you to remember that no matter how many old people are dying, the people most harmed by coronavirus are trans people who do not have coronavirus.
The infection might follow the same trajectory, but I’m sure the isolation would reduce the number of infections. However, going forward, exercising reasonable sanitation and distancing techniques, life can get back to near-normal pretty quickly.
@Deplorable Me: Just another asshole with a model, the clamp down should have been as slow as the ramp up, wash hands wear a mask tried before turning off the lights and hiding
@kitt: Only the clamp down would be 14 days late. In that span, an infected person could infect dozens who infect dozens.
