President Barack Obama’s signature health care reform law remains unpopular with the American public just months before it fully goes into effect, according to the new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll.
The poll shows 49 percent of Americans say they believe the Affordable Care Act is a bad idea. That’s the highest number recorded on this question since the poll began measuring it in 2009. Just 37 percent say the plan is a good idea.
As the political battle over implementation of the law heats up in Washington, the numbers mark an increase in unpopularity since July 2012, right after the U.S. Supreme Court upheld Obama’s overhaul. Back then, 44 percent of NBC/WSJ poll respondents called it a bad idea, vs. 40 percent who called it a good one.
GOP leaders have been unrelenting in their calls to reverse the law. “For the sake of my constituents in Kentucky and for the sake of Americans across the country, I urge my friends on the other side to join with Republicans and stop this ‘train wreck’ before things get even worse,” Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., said on the Senate floor in April.

Costs going up…available doctors going down…Congress trying to figure out how to exempt itself from Obamacare “because we won’t be able to hire good staffers under Obamacare”… 16,000 new IRS agents to go after people to extort more money from those who earn it (because the IRS is proving to be just brimming with integrity and fairness now, right?)…Sebelius refusing to alter transplant rules for a 10 year old CF patient, but insisting that sex change mutilation surgeries MUST be covered under Obamacare along with abortions and birth control.
Obamacare is an evil leftist powergrab. It was designed to be that way, and to fail so that the leftists could blame conservatives (as they have already started doing) for “not providing enough funding” as an excuse to push for the total government takeover of medical care in this country.
But you leftists keep denying the blatantly obvious, resorting to your ‘leprachauns and unicorns dancing over the rainbow bridge’ pipedreams. See how effective your denial of reality is at curing your future medical problems, because there will not be enough good physicians out there to treat all the newly insured. Keep yourselves warm knowing that your wealthy democrat overlords will have excellent medical care, though. After all, they work so hard caring for (controlling) all us unwashed masses that they DESERVE all their perks.
I’ve already lost one surgeon to New Zealand.
Now my current surgeon is planning to exit the country.
A Pediatrician friend has also left.
All three highly regarded among their peers.
If the best we have leave, who will we be left with?
The best of those that remain will be dedicated to the care of the wealthiest and most powerful.
Herbalists and midwives for the rest of us, I guess. And Kevorkians.
Thanks, Dems.
