The Sun:
DONALD Trump has asked Britain to send Winston Churchill’s bust back to the White House so he can return it to the Oval Office, The Sun can reveal.
The request was put to Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson by the President Elect’s senior advisers during talks in New York three days ago.
Last night, Downing Street confirmed that Theresa May has agreed to a loan of the famous sculpture again.
The gesture marks a diplomatic coup for the PM in her bid to win influence over the unpredictable new US leader.
A bitter row over the bust’s location has raged for seven years since outgoing President Barack Obama replaced the wartime leader’s image with one of Martin Luther King in 2009.
Since then, it has been kept at the British Embassy in Washington DC.
Trump’s closest advisers Jared Kushner and Steven Bannon relayed the request for the bust’s return after revealing their boss was a big fan of the legendary Tory, and had even read Boris’s biography of him.
A No10 spokesman told The Sun last night: “The Prime Minister is happy to loan the Churchill bust to the White House and will be delighted to view it on display when she visits this Spring”.
The bust – by British artist Sir Jacob Epstein – was originally presented to George W. Bush in July 2001 and stayed in his office through out his presidency.
The idea of returning it to the Oval Office was first suggested to the property billionaire by ex-UKIP boss Nigel Farage in November last year, when he became the first British politician to visit him after the US election.
Boris renewed the controversy during the EU referendum campaign with a stinging attack on Mr Obama.
Hitting back at the US leader’s backing for the Remain campaign, Mr Johnson said the bust’s removal was evidence of his “ancestral dislike of the British Empire”.
But the controversy deepened when Mr Obama then insisted he kept a second identical sculpture of Churchill in his White House private quarters, declaring “I love the guy”.
Churchill, who had an American mother, is the only person ever to be granted an honorary US passport.
You mean Obama did’nt replace it with a bust of Che?
This is a huge bitch slap on obama.
The real story on why the bust was returned….

So of the racist residue left behind by the Obama administration will be easier to clean up than others.

Yeah, but so what? He’s going to return the bust of Winston Churchill to the White House. Never mind the fact that it never actually left. It was simply moved from the Oval Office to the Treaty Room—which I also would have done, given that it’s one of the most unflattering renditions of Sir Winston ever created in bronze. I mean, seriously… Have you ever seen a photo of the Sir Jacob Epstein bust? Sir Winston—quite a good painter, himself—might have wryly suggested that it be moved to a White House bathroom. It’s so damn unflattering that the photo of a bronze Churchill bust used to illustrate the story in right-wing articles is most often of a different Churchill portrait by a different artist altogether. The one appearing in this Blaze article just a few days ago, for example, is actually by sculptor Oscar Nemon. It resides in the National Statuary Hall of The Capitol.
@Greg: You again missed the point of the post. You really need to go to the Huffington Post where there are many like you who can not understand what they read.

@Randy, #5:
The point is that the story was bogus when it first came out, and is equally bogus now. Not only are people failing to separate lies from fiction; they can’t seem to separate irrelevant distractions, which are getting rolled out like clockwork, from what’s truly important. This is how they keep getting taken by a fast-talking conman running a shell game.
What do you think Sir Winston Churchill would have had to say about Trump’s comments concerning the obsolescence of NATO, or his apparent enthusiasm for buddying up with Vladimir Putin?

I see nothing to laugh about. I wish I did.

Liar
@July 4th American, #8:
The lie here is the bullshit story posted at the top of the page.
As The Mirror pointed out a bit over a month ago, the Churchill bust in question never left the White House. It’s upstairs, displayed on a table just outside the Treaty Room, beneath a small portrait painting of Ulysses S Grant.
@Greg:
Wow, Obozo controls 98% of the press and lets them put out a bogus story about him dissing Churchill’s bust. You think the press people just didn’t believe him when he said he was removing the bust and put out a fake story that he was removing it. Wow all these press people that have sucked up to him for years putting out a bogus story.
I’m quite sure that Obozo probably put it on the mantle in the private residence.

So, you’re saying the hideous head has been cloned, two were in the White House, and Obama dissed Sir Winston by returning one of them? Which Trump is going to bring back, apparently on the theory that you can’t have too many?
Romney was also determined to bring back the head of Winston Churchill. Republicans seem to be oddly fixated on having a little head in the Oval Office. I really think they should keep it upstairs, out of sight, but that’s just my opinion. I think you all must have been dropped on your heads at some point.
@Greg:
Your opinion matters little, you are a drone
Who do you suppose Trump is most closely connected with? U.S. organized crime, or the Russian mafia?
Who cares? He’s going bring the bust of Winston Churchill downstairs and set it on a different table. Obama, defeated at last!
@Greg:
Wrong drone, Boris Johnson is sending it to Trump @ 1600 Pennsylvania Ave
Hardly surprising. Boris already sent Donald one of his wigs, and some pointers about how to pose for publicity photos.
@Greg: You have it wrong, it was Clinton who had a little head in the White House.
