The presidents of Harvard, MIT, and Penn were all asked the following question under oath at today’s congressional hearing on antisemitism:
Does calling for the genocide of Jews violate [your university’s] code of conduct or rules regarding bullying or harassment?
The answers they gave reflect the profound moral bankruptcy of Presidents Gay, Magill and Kornbluth.
Representative Stefanik was so shocked with the answers that she asked each of them the same question over and over again, and they gave the same answers over and over again.
In short, they said:
It ‘depends on the context’ and ‘whether the speech turns into conduct,’ that is, actually killing Jews.
This could be the most extraordinary testimony ever elicited in the Congress, certainly on the topic of genocide, which to remind us all is:
“the deliberate killing of a large number of people from a particular nation or ethnic group with the aim of destroying that nation or group”
The presidents’ answers reflect the profound educational, moral and ethical failures that pervade certain of our elite educational institutions due in large part to their failed leadership.

If a CEO of one of our companies gave a similar answer, he or she would be toast within the hour.
Why has antisemitism exploded on campus and around the world?
Because of leaders like Presidents Gay, Magill and Kornbluth who believe genocide depends on the context.
To think that these are the leaders of Ivy League institutions that are charged with the responsibility to educate our best and brightest.
On the bright side, our congressional leaders deserve accolades for showing tremendous leadership and moral clarity in their statements, by the questions they asked, and the respectfulness with which they conducted the hearing.
It was a masterclass of how our government and democracy should operate.
If you have time, please watch the entire hearing. Throughout the hearing, the three behaved like hostile witnesses, exhibiting a profound disdain for the Congress with their smiles and smirks, and their outright refusal to answer basic questions with a yes or no answer.
So there are rational and ethical limits to First Amendment freedom of speech? A light has finally gone on in the attic?

Did the college presidents assault someone?? No, they didn’t. They’re taking the same absolutist freedom of speech position you are. In my opinion, they’re equally wrong. Hate speech deserves no First Amendment protection.

Wrong. Those college presidents allowed (perhaps encouraged) their students to assault Jews on their campuses. And no matter how much you claim First Amendment rights for those Nazi wannabes, assault is still illegal in every state.

Calling for “all Jews to be killed,” is protected, but hounding an individual Jewish student into trying to hide inside a library is criminal, as is destroying a Jewish man’s falafal eatery, as is chasing Jewish people who are walking to Temple on their Sabbath.
The heads of these uni’s sat back while their students harassed Jewish students and business owners.
Yeah, you can expel a student for menacing people they don’t like.

If I say, I want YOU dead, that is definitely bullying and/or harassment.
BUT if I say I want Polish people, or German people or Jewish people dead, it is not a personal attack.
Yet.
If you happen to be wearing a Polish dress or German lederhosen, or Jewish kippah that identifies you as one of those, then MAYBE it could be interpreted as a direct threat.
Nan, if you say you want Polish people dead, you are advocating for genocide. That’s illegal speech because you are advocating that genocide whether you commit it or someone is encouraged to act via your speech.
It doesn’t matter what a uni code of conduct is if it allows advocates inciting harm to another segment of our population. On top of that, carrying Hamas flags and cheering for Hamas is an illegal support of an organization that has been declared a terrorist organization by the U.S. government.
Everyone of those students on a foreign student visa could be deported immediately and their visas revoked. As they should be.
The problem is universities, especially the Ivy League, have filled their coffers with $$ from Middle Eastern students paid for by oil money, including Iranian oil money. This is how Berlin looked in the late 30’s.
But, if you did not endorse BLM or took the position that ALL lives matter, that was grounds for expulsion. If someone protested that all blacks should be held accountable for what racist opportunist blacks did in riots and looting, that would be grounds for expulsion. THAT has been their policy and, though inconsistent with the freedom of speech (which we now know that many people believe isn’t sacred), it IS their policy to enforce such restrictions… EXCEPT when directed at Jews or Whites.

If you are a real student of history I bet you can find at least one grandparent or great grandparent who was a child of rape by a victor.
