Perhaps some people lack President Obama’s capacity for empathy. This would explain a lot. It might, in fact, explain almost everything.

@Greg: Where was his empathy when Kate Steinle was killed by one of his illegal immigrants in one of his sanctuary cities with one of his federal officer’s guns? Where was his empathy as he helped Holder cover up how Brian Terry came to be dead? Where is his empathy in getting to the bottom of his little buddy Rahm’s cover up of a police shooting?
He lacks honest compassion. It is all strictly politics and exploitation with him.

Narcissistic personalities have no empathy or emotions
Amanda Chan in her review 18 Ways To Spot A Narcissist offers the following

Maybe you need to pose those questions to a background of violin music, for maximum effect. You’re basically suggesting that tears can’t be real unless they’re shed every time a person opens a newspaper. The right wants to dehumanize Obama so badly that they’ve dehumanized themselves. They’ve done the same with the Clintons; with anyone, in fact, that they perceive as political enemies.

@mos 8541: You are correct. Obama is by scientific definition a narcissist. 97% of social scientist agree that the definition you provided for us is the right description. The science is settled!
Sociopaths like Obama are incapable of empathy. They are capable of faking it, though.

@Greg: No, what I am clearly saying, without ambiguity and in a way that anyone with an open mind can understand, is that Obama only emotes his fake emotion in situations that present an opportunity for political advantage.
Michael Brown, armature thug, is killed? He invites the opportunistic family to the White House. Trayvon Martin is killed while trying to kill another man? Could be his son. However, when a black man is gunned down in Chicago by Rahm’s police and then Rahm covers it up… no mention. No tears. No outrage. It didn’t happen. No political hay to be reaped in a liberal enclave. Just ignore it… it’ll go away.
A guy who should have been institutionalized, but for the obstruction of the ACLU, murders school children…. political windfall. Even though no amount of background checks, gun bans or gun-free zoning would have prevented a lunatic from shooting up defenseless children and teachers, Obama exploits the tragedy to push his gun control agenda. However, when an innocent young girl is randomly killed by an illegal immigrant… one that had deported 5 times with a history of violent crime and was protected by a sanctuary city policy, Obama sheds no tears. He doesn’t even acknowledge the event. He also doesn’t address the failure of his immigration policies and how ignoring the threat of violent illegal immigrants endangers innocent citizens. He just pretends it didn’t happen for, not only is there no political gain to be yielded from exploiting that tragedy, it actually exposes his failures and the failure of his ideological policies.
When radical Islamic terrorists shoot up a San Bernardino facility, Obama does not acknowledge the terrorism aspect of the tragedy… he promotes the gun angle, though he is well aware that everything he has been saying he wants to impede and control gun ownership was in place and did nothing to impede mad people hellbent on murder. But, he knows he can still appeal to his ignorant base. Shedding a tear or two lubricates the process.
THAT’s the point. THAT’s the crux of it. THAT’s the truth.

It is simply the only tactic the left knows to push an agenda, not logic or facts, emotion. Now is it easy to cry on cue, just think of something really really sad, like having to pay for your own luxury vacations even the sniff sniff flight, greens fees, food, everything. No more unlimited free pens and the phone bill now his responsibility. But Michelle will finally be free from, as she describes it, her really nice prison.
