Biden orders the left-wing media to trash Trump and they signal they’re ready to comply

At the White House Correspondents Dinner Joe Biden gave an address in which he summoned the press to do his bidding.

Biden calls on journalists to rise up against Trump in the 2024 election:

“On the third anniversary of January 6, I went to Valley Forge and I said the most urgent question of our time is whether democracy is still — is still the sacred cause of America. That is the question the American people must answer this year and you, the free press, play a critical role in making sure the American people have the information they need to make an informed decision. The defeated former President has made no secret of his attack on our democracy he said he wants to be a dictator on day one and so much more. He tells supporters he is the revenge and retribution. When in God’s name ever heard of another president say something like that? And he promised a bloodbath when he loses again. We have to take this seriously. Eight years ago, it could have written off as just Trump talk but no longer, not after January 6. I’m sincerely not asking you to take sides, but asking a rise up to the seriousness of the moment.”

Then he laid it on thick

“Move past the horse race numbers and the gotcha moments, and the distractions, the sideshows that have come to dominate and sensationalize our politics and focusing on what’s actually at stake. I think in your hearts, you know what’s at stake. The stakes couldn’t be higher every single one of us has rows to play a serious role, to play in making sure democracy endures, American democracy. I have my role, but with all due respect, so do you. In the age of disinformation, credible information that people can trust is more important than ever and that makes you, and I mean this with the bottom of my heart, makes you more important than ever. So tonight, I’d like to make a toast — to a free press, to an informed citizenry, to an American where freedom and democracy endure. God bless America.”

And quicker than you can say “Sir, yes sir!” the press responded. NBC’s Kelly O’Donnell to Biden and Kamala:

“We welcome you as we celebrate freedoms that are both enduring and repeatedly tested. Your presence here speaks clearly and loudly about the essential connection between a free press, freedom of speech, and the democracy we value.”

Most network news show hosts are democrat retreads and George Stephanopoulos is no exception. He was the Clinton water boy whose it was to threaten to destroy women who might have a sordid story to tell about Bill Clinton.

He tried to discredit Gennifer Flowers, Paula Jones, Connie Hamzy, just to name a few. The New York Times in 2016 recounted the Democratic operative’s role in dismissing claims about Clinton:

George Stephanopoulos, the communications director of the 1992 campaign, recalled in his book, “All Too Human.”

But Mrs. Clinton demanded action.

“We have to destroy her story,” she said, according to Mr. Stephanopoulos.

In what became a common tactic, affidavits were collected, from an aide and two others who stated that they were with Mr. Clinton at the hotel and that Ms. Hamzy’s story was false. (Contacted recently, Ms. Hamzy said she stood by her account.)

When the work was done, both Clintons called Mr. Stephanopoulos, together, to offer their thanks.

The ever-virtuous Stephanopoulos is the host of ABC’s “This Week” and after he got his orders he made clear that the press was going to treat Donald Trump very differently from Joe Biden

.In contrast with the show’s usual style, Stephanopoulos began the program with remarks on former President Trump’s legal troubles and how the 2024 election was testing the tenets of democracy. This followed Biden calling on members of the press to focus less on horse race politics and “rise up to the seriousness of the moment,” in a sober conclusion to his speech at the White House correspondents’ dinner on Saturday.

“Until now, no American president had ever faced a criminal trial,” Stephanopoulos said. “No American president had ever faced a criminal indictment for retaining and concealing classified documents. No American president had ever faced a federal indictment or a state indictment for trying to overturn an election, or been named an unindicted co-conspirator in two other states for the same crime. No American president has faced hundreds of millions of dollars in fines for business fraud, defamation, and sexual abuse,” Stephanopoulos began.

Stephanopoulos argued this election was not normal, and that it was easy for everyone to treat it as an ordinary race for the presidency when the “scale of the abnormality is so staggering.”

Then came this boatload of bullsh*t

“It’s all too easy to fall into reflexive habits, to treat this as a normal campaign, where both sides embrace the rule of law, where both sides are dedicated to a debate based on facts and the peaceful transfer of power. But that is not what’s happening this election year. Those bedrock tenets of democracy are being tested in a way we haven’t seen since the Civil War. It’s a test for the candidates, for those of us in the media, and for all of us as citizens,” Stephanopoulos said.

And here’s the money line:

There was no indication that Stephanopoulos’ remarks weren’t coincidental, however. An ABC News spokesperson didn’t respond to request for comment on whether the anchor’s editorial was related to Biden’s admonition.

As Biden would say, “No joke!”

Of course it’s related. As of February press coverage of Trump was 89% negative and getting worse. Think about that for a moment. Trump polls farther ahead of Biden than ever despite the overwhelmingly bad coverage he is getting. Imagine where he’d be were the coverage close to fair, but then again Lester Holt said fairness is overrated. Expect that the press coverage of Trump will deteriorate to shameful levels. Willingness to carry out Biden’s war is wretched.

Consequently, trust in the media is pretty much at an all time low.

That will not deter the bias the major networks embrace. Just as the astonishing multipronged effort to stop Trump from running for office is backfiring, so will the overt media bias toward Biden.
