Jimmy Kimmel goes to a fascist tyrannical state to complain about alleged US fascism and tyranny

Jimmy Kimmel is an a**hole. That’s where we start.

Kimmel, who has trouble finding the bottom of the outrage manure pile, was suspended back in September for making crass remarks about Charlie Kirk’s murder:

Jimmy Kimmel’s late-night talk show was suspended indefinitely following the host’s comments on the fatal shooting of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

Walt Disney-owned ABC said on Wednesday, Sept. 17, that it will indefinitely stop airing “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” after the late-night host’s comments about Kirk’s assassination came under harsh criticism from the head of the Federal Communications Commission.

“‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ will be pre-empted indefinitely,” a spokesperson for the network said to USA TODAY i

n a statement. USA TODAY has reached out to Kimmel’s representatives for comment. According to Reuters, Kimmel was seen Wednesday night leaving the El Capitan Theatre, where his show is taped, but did not respond to a request for comment.

He would be reinstated ten days later.

Charlie Kirk was murdered, Erika Kirk was left with two children and a dead husband, but it was Kimmel who had the difficult year.

BC late night host Jimmy Kimmel opened his monologue Thursday with tears in his eyes, reflecting on what he acknowledged was a difficult year.

“This has been a strange year. It’s been a hard year,” Kimmel said. “We’ve had some lows. We’ve had some highs. For me, maybe more than any year of my life.”

Regaining his cocksure arrogance and ballooning hubris, Kimmel traveled to England to address the British public on the so-called tyranny of the Trump administration- on Christmas day.

Jimmy Kimmel unleashed fresh attacks on President Trump and declared “tyranny is booming” in the United States during a Christmas Day address in Britain — escalating his feud with the White House months after ABC briefly pulled his show over his comments about conservative activist Charlie Kirk’s assassination.

The late-night host used Channel 4’s Alternative Christmas Message to say that “from a fascism perspective, this has been a really great year,” delivering one of his most pointed political monologues yet — on a UK network, not American television.

The address aired on Christmas Day on Channel 4, less than two hours after King Charles III’s annual speech. It was billed by the network as a deliberately provocative counterpoint to the royal address, which is intended to be non-partisan and seeks to avoid controversy.

He continues:

Kimmel leaned into the role of provocateur, accusing the US government of trying to silence him while mocking Trump as “King Donny VIII.” “You may have read in your colorful newspapers my country’s president would like to shut me up because I don’t adore him in the way he likes to be adored,” Kimmel said in the broadcast.

Kimmel said “tyranny is booming over here,” warning British viewers that democratic backsliding can happen quickly.

He boasted that after his suspension, he was “back on the air every night giving the most powerful politician on earth a right and richly deserved bollocking” — a slang British term that means a scolding or a reprimand.

And the irony sets in:

“And the reason I’m telling you this story is because maybe you’re thinking: ‘Oh, a government silencing its critics is something that happens in places like Russia, or North Korea, or LA, not the UK’.”

What he left out was, “or in the UK.”

Kimmel was addressing a fascist tyrannical country about fascism and tyranny.

England has devolved into fascism.

People are arrested for social media comments

Approximately 10-13,000 people were arrested for social comments in the UK last year and 2024 saw a similar number. In fact, in 2023 the UK led the world in arrests for online comments.

Totally oblivious to the irony, Kimmel faced backlash in the US for his holiday diatribe from Real Clear Politics founder Tom Bevan:

Bevan said Kimmel’s claims don’t make sense, given the host’s continued presence on television, calling him “among the most insufferable Trump haters in America.”

“There’s a real contradiction there. If tyranny is booming, how can his show be doing so well?” asked Bevan on “America’s Newsroom” Friday. “If, you know, tyranny is so great in the United States, why does Jimmy Kimmel get to go on the air every single night and bash the president of the United States? That seems like a free America,”

Kimmel need not worry about backlash in the UK. Complainers posting on social media would be arrested immediately.

As for tyranny, Kimmel should check in with Douglass Mackey.

Mackey was arrested in January 2021 (seven days after Biden’s inauguration), charged with conspiracy against rights (18 U.S.C. § 241) for interfering with voting rights. He was convicted in March 2023 after a federal trial in Brooklyn, and sentenced to 7 months in prison in October 2023.In July 2025, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit unanimously overturned the conviction, ruling there was insufficient evidence of a conspiracy (e.g., no proof he coordinated with others or even saw related discussions), and remanded for acquittal. The case sparked debate over free speech, memes, and election disinformation.
Biden shut down free speech on Facebook, Google and Twitter, but that didn’t make a dent in Kimmel’s bubble. But like I said, Kimmel is an a**hole.
