A cadre of democrats have produced a video in which they encourage members of the military to defy orders.
But not directly.
In a redux of the “51 former intelligence experts” letter, these democrats – Sen. Elissa Slotkin (D-Mich.) – Sen. Mark Kelly (D-Ariz.) – Rep. Chris Deluzio (D-Pa.) – Rep. Maggie Goodlander (D-N.H.) – Rep. Chrissy Houlahan (D-Pa.) – Rep. Jason Crow (D-Colo.) have created something that, just like the laptop letter, doesn’t come right out and say it, but very strongly implies it.

They use words like
- “Threats… from right here at home.”
- “You can refuse illegal orders.”
- “You must refuse illegal orders.”
- “We have your back.”
What they’re really doing is undermining the chain of command, casting Trump as an internal enemy, hinting that “resistance” inside the ranks is patriotic and hoping that someone in the military actually refuses an order.
Here’s the good part. When some poor soldier who, after watching the video, has in his mind heard “Trump is issuing unlawful orders” and refuses to obey one he thinks is objectionable.
He is f**ked. He will be court martialed and dishonorably discharged,
The cadre of democrats will be safe from charges as they did not directly instruct anyone to defy orders (just like the laptop incident- when the defense was “we only said it had all the hallmarks of Russian disinformation” and they let Biden and everyone else jump to a conclusion while they sat back and chuckled at their success.)
This is how the CIA works, and how it has been working against Trump (think Brennan). Slotkin used to work for the CIA. Goodlander was an intelligence officer.

These actions do meet the definition of sedition and should someone in the military refuse a direct order, these members of Congress could find themselves charged with the following:
- 18 U.S.C. § 2387 – Activities affecting armed forces by advising or inciting insubordination, disloyalty, mutiny, or refusal of duty
- Text (key part): “Whoever, with intent to interfere with, impair, or influence the loyalty, morale, or discipline of the military or naval forces of the United States… advises, counsels, urges, or in any manner causes or attempts to cause insubordination, disloyalty, mutiny, or refusal of duty…”
- Penalty: Up to 20 years imprisonment and/or fine.
- This statute was specifically written to cover civilians (including members of Congress) who try to incite troops to disobey orders or undermine military discipline.
The best part of this? None of the above could name a single unlawful order Trump has allegedly issued.

These motley democrats know what they’re doing- throw enough crap on the wall and some will stick. Gullible left wingers will think that Trump has issued unlawful orders. I just hope that no soldier falls for it.

They are clearly guilty of the cited US Code. The only thing saving them is that we have an AG who is either incompetent, compromised, or chickenshit. Crow passed himself off as a “military officer”. As far as I can tell, he hasn’t been in the military since 2006 making him a former officer, in his case, a captain. He is a liar and a political hack. What an insult to the Army Rangers.
The definition of an unlawful order needs to be clear and fully explained.
Could droning a field hospital or full of Doctors without borders in Kunduz fall within those parameters?
How about a couple of aid workers, a US translator along with 7 kiddies in Kabul? Legal?
