An Open Letter to Democrats – Are You Sure that this is What You Want?

It’s taken some time to properly gather my thoughts after Charlie Kirk’s Assassination, and particularly around the aftermath. I started with making the theme of my Week in Radical Leftism roundup, asking if a Civil War is now inevitable. The quick summary is that the post didn’t look at Democrats as a whole around the country, but rather how the Democratic Party’s leadership has been acting since President Trump’s return to office. Tonight I want to talk about what I’ve observed both in articles as well as what I’ve seen from people I know personally in my social media feeds.

I remain a recovering Facebook addict, approaching seven years since leaving that cesspool. But I still have to pop in occasionally because of how or neighborhood and local schools use it. And in the days immediately following Charlie Kirk’s assassination I had to be careful not to linger. Needless to say, Facebook’s rage algorithms pushed posts straight to the top of my feed when I opened the page for my daily quick check in. Thankfully, nothing I saw included the psychopaths dancing on Kirk’s grave, but the few I saw can be summed up as “Don’t tell me I’m supposed to feel bad for someone getting killed who said things I don’t like.” One was mad at Kirk’s attacks on DEI, suggesting that it diminished the accomplishments of his mom & sisters (The poster was black). Fair point, and I’d counter that the DEI hires actually diminish the accomplishments of anyone in those categories who genuinely earned their achievements. The rest that I glimpsed were either out of context quotes or outright falsehoods. Needless to say, I didn’t engage any of them. But their arguments were completely irrelevant compared to a far more serious side to their reactions.

Let’s break this down the Charlie Kirk assassination to it’s most basic elements. Somebody with a set of beliefs travelled to places where he knew his word would be unwelcome, allowing others to voice their disagreement. Eventually, someone who disagreed was radicalized enough to murder him (And as I re-read that while editing, it might come off like I’m trying to compare Charlie to Jesus. I’m not – pure coincidence if it reads that way). This man’s wife had to see her husband get murdered. His children will forever have a lasting impression of their father being killed in cold blood. And Charlie’s parents got to live every parent’s worst nightmare – not just outliving any of your kids, but having it immortalized on video for you to see. It doesn’t matter how much you dislike someone who had never done anything to you personally, the only correct response to someone being murdered is sorrow, along with thoughts and prayers. Kurt Schlichter broke down the various stages that The Radical Left went through to rationalize a murder with his usual subtlety, Democrats, Tell Your Perverted Allies to Stop Murdering People. To briefly recap:

  • Openly cheering Charlie’s murder. For some strange reason, that did not play well with the Normals.
  • He was totally asking for it by exercising his right to free speech
  • The shooter, who was having a fling with his transsexual Furry roommate (If you don’t know what  Furry is, don’t ask. And be grateful that I’m not providing a link), was totally a MAGA Republican
  • Charlie’s murder was a touching act of love
  • Make the conversation about Jimmy Kimmel over getting thrown off the air for knowingly spreading a lie about a crime.

Friendly advice, Lefties. If you think that making a pudgy, unfunny, lying Hollywood talking head your unofficial mascot, google the name “Michael Moore.” You tried this two decades ago, and how did the John Kerry presidency work out for you? Like Moore, Kimmel might look like a hero to the freaks, but neither has any appeal to the Normals.

This isn’t a slippery slope – this kind of devaluation of human life is is a slope of solid ice covered in butter and being navigated on a toboggan made of banana peels. If one side normalizes this attitude towards people who commit the heinous crime of disagreement, where do you think this will go?

Of course, we already have our answer. It came in the form of the many psychopaths who shared online their glee in celebrating Charlie’s murder. This actually surprised me – not misunderestimating Leftist psychosis, but rather the being completely oblivious to the last decade of cancel culture. Retribution was swift and brutal. Posters got identified and outed, and their employers were quickly alerted to the mental state of their employees. These led to a wave of terminations, also which got posted online. And The Radical Left howled in protest – “HYPOCRISY! You were the ones complaining about Cancel Culture!” they shrieked. But us Normals simply shrugged, using their phrase of “accountability culture”. You’re just mad that we’ve overrun your artillery, flipped the cannons around, and you’re now having your own ordnance raining down on your heads. And completely independent of any kind of schadenfreude, there is a far more serious reason for us Normals to support these firings. If I’m rocking a MAGA hat when I order food at a diner, I don’t want to have to wonder if my waitress isn’t dropping drain cleaner into my coffee. Not that would ever happen, only because 1) I don’t drink coffee, and 2) while I like patriotic gear, I think that only (rectal cavities) wear political hats/shirts outside of political events. But that’s just me – your mileage may vary. That said, as an employer, why would you risk your business over one of your employees advocating for physical harm to people who are of no threat to them? This goes across any profession, especially the more high profile ones. If you’re working for the government, or even worse, are teaching, you’ve got to see the problem here. Personally, I think these people exhibit a level of psychosis that warrants being institutionalized, but that’s just me.

And that brings me to the point of this post. Lefties, if your continuous howls for President Trump to “Lower the temperature” were the reason for the recent violence, why has all of the recent violence been committed by Leftists? Shouldn’t there be a serious MAGA body count? We all know the reason it’s the case, even if you Lefties can’t admit it. Ours is the side of morality and patience, while yours is the side of irrationality and emotional outbursts. But to steal a  line I remember Dave Barry writing years ago: “Am I generalizing? Yes. But whenever I do in these situations, I remind myself that I don’t care.” Kidding aside, one only need to look at the masses’ reactions to the deaths of St. George Floyd of Fentanyl vs. Charlie. But how long will this last?

In the years before TPUSA took off, Steven Crowder preceded Charlie Kirk’s talks with what became so widespread that it become a meme of “Change my Mind” tables that he’d set up in generally hostile environments (campuses, downtown cities) and engage the locals. And he had his share of hostility. He just posted a video of how, despite his security, some scumbags broke though and stole something or got in a minor physical attack many times over the years. Crowder said that the reason he kept these relatively quiet is that he didn’t want to inspire copycats, but at this stage he chose to expose the full extent of what he’s experienced.

And now the gloves are off. After Charlie’s murder, he will now be treating any  remotely hostile Leftist as a potential death threat. And his team WILL not hesitate to defend themselves at the first hint of trouble This isn’t paranoia – The Radical Left’s (and sadly, The Mainstream Left’s) reactions to the recent violence warrants this. Crowder doesn’t want to die, and because of YOU, while he is willing to accommodate, Crowder and his crew now have to treat even the slightest threat of violence as a potential mass murder event. This isn’t paranoia – this is your side’s actions and reactions.

And we conclude with how this drips down beyond the celebrity to the local level. Although I live deep behind enemy lines in The People’s Republic of Arlington, my public interactions with people who disagree have always been civil. I can no longer assume that any random interaction can be civil. As a example, in 2024 I did some civic duty and handed out sample Republican ballots at polling stations. Most of the Dems walking by just ignored me, but one stuck in my mind. He wore the badges of a federal government employee, and asked if we could talk. I agreed, and he talked. And talked. I soon realized he wasn’t interested in talking, but more of filibustering me and claiming it was great how both sides could have a meaningful dialogue. Meh – I’ve encountered him too many times before to care. But now things are different.

If Government Filibuster were to approach me in a similar situation today, my initial response will be to subtly look around me to ensure he’s not working as the distraction so that his friends can sneak up behind and donkey punch me. And even if I establish that he is alone, I’ll be paying close attention to his body language and where his hands are. Given Democrats’ recent history, unless I’m cool with Sister Babe being a widow and Little Bob growing up without a father, I have to assume that any Leftist engaging me is a potential threat. Lest some Soros typing monkey is recording this, no this isn’t my way of saying that getting in my face will result in a loaded gun in yours. Nor am I trying to be some keyboard warrior tough guy. But it does mean that your side’s collective indifference/support of someone like me being murdered, engaging any of you means I have to be ready to treat any interaction as a potential murder attempt.

Which brings us to the conclusion. I know that you Lefties aren’t known for thinking through the long term effects of your actions, but based on how you’ve seen us Normals respond to the Cancel Culture escalation, in what scenario do see escalating violence working well for your side? And as much as I’d love to conclude with some kind of  solution, I’m not the solution. It has to come from your side. If nothing else, look at recent history for what to expect. Remember when mad Maxine was ginning up loonies to harass Trump supporters out in public? You collectively giggled when it happened a few times, and even Pelosi supported it. Remember how it ended? It came to an abrupt stop when a bunch of Normals heckled Pelosi at one of her speaking events. And you loved the whole Cancel Culture wave when it hurt people you didn’t like. Now you’re looking on in horror that we Normals are actually enjoying the same happening to you. I know better to appeal to your sense of decency or logic – the side that supports foreign rapists and pregnant women chugging Tylenol possess neither. Now you’re approving of, and encouraging serious violence. Please tell me that you see where this goes.

Because neither of us wants it to happen.

To Dem-O-Rats quit trying to entice Riots Arson and Looting while trying to have us all Disarmed defunding the Police Opening the Borders and if you cant do that that you should all Resign from Politics and from the Government Period

NAzI stopped conservative beating Mario S IN HIS TRACKs in 1967 with police force..
late disclosure I switched party to vote for the nAZI in primary; later in nov 66 and 7 more times.
i admit a pro America bias!

Liberals were alarmed by the use of force to stop liberal violence (IMHO had teforce been used agwinst coservatives the song would ever have been written) A SoCal band wrote an anti NAZI song about Ronny.

Your post brings back a line from that song

” …parnoia strikes deep
into your life …

If you were a night clubber in SoCal in mid 60’s you heard the band

they played at the famous Whiskey a Go Go!

Liberlas did not like Ronny 60 years ago.

Still dont!

I remember when we used to watch Letterman (before he became a far-leftist nut) and a guest asked him why he wasn’t making O.J. Simpson jokes after the Nichole Simpson murder. He said he didn’t find double murders as funny as he used to. Obviously, that has all changed, especially when the victim is a brilliant conservative.

I view the left’s “celebration” of Kirk’s assassination as having numerous reasons. One, they want to absolve themselves of being complicit. So, they have to rewrite his legacy as one of hate and bigotry when those were the very things he fought against. They also truly appreciate such an effective voice being silenced, since censorship is one of their tools. And then, of course, they are basically vile and repugnant people.

One meme I saw was that Kirk “bullied” college students. This ignores the fact that what he did was invite anyone that wanted to have a discussion with him to step up and take the mic. No one was forced to converse with him. In fact, the clips I’ve seen show arrogant, self-important sycophants looking to upend Kirk and score imaginary points with an imaginary following. Instead, no matter what the topic was brought forth by them, Kirk had the receipts and shot them down in flames. So, obviously, lacking any other possible response, the left had to assassinate him.

Their refusal to unequivocally condemn this heinous act of political terrorism and violence is also calculated. The left doesn’t want to discourage their psychotic followers from pursuing violence as a political device. Again, it’s really all they have left. Look at the struggling, flailing, pathetic Democrats trying to explain why they’ve shut the government down. Their primary motivation is that Trump wants the government open, so they have to want it closed. The rest is simply failed justification. Likewise, though assassination and murder is universally regarded as “bad”, the left has to embrace it because they can’t come up with any other means of expression.

Krybaby Kimmel doesn’t seem to realize his own hypocrisy. He can choke back his fake tears as he makes himself the victim all he wants, but his admonition of Trump over the satisfaction Trump expressed over Kimmel getting slapped down as celebrating “hundreds” of staff (hundreds? really?) losing their jobs ignores his own encouragement (and that of others on the left) to destroy Musk, Tesla and THOUSANDS of jobs.

As to employers, what kind of person celebrates the murder of someone solely for their opinions? Perhaps the kind of person that might, one day, bring a weapon into the workplace and start their own RIF program over something someone said or did? Hate that someone like Kirk had to give his life to expose the psychos, but it is more effective than simply asking them if they have homicidal tendencies.

No matter what one thinks about Kirk or his opinions, his assassination cannot be viewed as anything other than censorship by bullet. This is as fascist as anything can possibly be and celebrating it is embracing fascism.

Speaking of Floyd, did anyone cheer his death? Yeah, probably, somewhere, but it wasn’t a chorus. The only issue for us was that his death was mischaracterized, politicized and abused to promote a leftist agenda and destroy a better man’s life. And in the aftermath of Kirk’s assassination, no one is making him any larger than he actually was. Fact is, we have no right wing examples to compare to Kirk’s assassination. They don’t exist. The left wants violence and IS violent. The right is not.
