Canada Vs. The U.S.: Who Serves Up the Beer with the Best ...

The Corona pandemic is a serious thing and should not be short shrifted. That being said, a little perspective is in order. In 2009 the H1N1 swine flu infected 60 million Americans, hospitalized 274,000 and  killed 12,400. It is thought to have taken as many as 200,000 -500,000 lives worldwide.

12,400.

Remember how democrats blamed obama? Me neither.

This season the flu has already killed at least 12,000 people in the US since October 1. 31 million are thought to have contracted the flu and between 200,000 and 370,000 hospitalized.

12,000.

As of this writing there are 1215 cases and 36 deaths from Corona. That number is expected to increase significantly and it may well. As I said, this must not be taken lightly, but what makes this pandemic so different from others? What is it about this that makes democrats and their allies in the media act so stupidly?

Led by Nancy Pelosi, democrats want the borders thrown open to allow as much disease into the country as possible.

House and Senate Democrats are responding to the coronavirus outbreak in the United States by supporting measures to effectively strip President Trump of his authority to impose travel bans to protect American citizens.

While Trump has implemented travel bans on China and Iran — two of the most coronavirus-affected nations in the world — House Democrats are looking to roll back the president’s authority to enact travel bans from regions of the world.

The “No Ban Act,” introduced by Rep. Judy Chu (D-CA) and co-sponsored by 219 House Democrats, would have prevented Trump from immediately implementing a travel ban on China once the outbreak of the coronavirus spread past its origins of Wuhan.

Instead, the No Ban Act would have allowed travelers from Wuhan to continue to arrive in the U.S. while the president received guidance from Congress.

“This bill imposes limitations on the President’s authority to suspend or restrict aliens from entering the United States and terminates certain presidential actions implementing such restrictions,” a summary of the legislation reads.

Donald Trump instituted a travel ban to China on January 31. Joe Biden called the action “xenophobic.” Bernie Sanders said he wouldn’t have done it. Yesterday Trump expanded the travel ban to most of Europe. Dr. Anthony Fauci, one of the world’s leading immunologists, supported Trump.

“Dr. Fauci, will a travel ban like this have a significant impact on reducing the community spread of the coronavirus, that is cases that are already in the United States?” Rep. Jimmy Gomez (D-CA) asked.

Dr. Fauci said in response:

Yes … the answer is a firm yes. That was the reason, the rationale, the public health rationale [for] why that recommendation was made because if you look at the numbers, it’s very clear that 70 percent of the new infections in the world are coming from that region, from Europe, exceeding other countries. [Emphasis added]

Of the 35 or more states that have infections, 30 of them now … have gotten them from a travel-related case from that region. So it was pretty compelling that we needed to turn off the source from that region. [Emphasis added]

The Corona outbreak is so grave a situation that Nancy Pelosi attached abortion funding to a bill meant to fight the virus.

The biggest democrat issue today? What we call the Corona virus

“Since the beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak, we have seen not only the spreading of the virus, but also a rapid spreading of racism and xenophobia,” Pressley said. “We have witnessed at the highest levels, in fact, the Republican Party fanning irresponsibly these flames. One colleague tweeted that ‘Everything you need to know about the Chinese coronavirus.’”

“My district is home to nearly 32 percent foreign-born residents with more than a quarter immigrating from Asia,” Pressley continued. “This painful rhetoric has consequences. Restaurants across Boston’s Chinatown have seen up to an 80 percent drop in business, and I believe this has everything to do with the rapid spread of misinformation and paranoia. It is critical that we stand against these inciteful messages… in our communities.”

As I have long said here- liberals have ZERO long term memory and now- no short term memory either

Here Fauci ruins Scarborough’s day

Senator Chris Murphy last week:

“Trump thinks he’s a dictator!”

Murphy this week:

“Why isn’t Trump acting like a dictator????”

Sen. Dick Blumenthal is bewildered by the last two months

Really?? What might Blumenthal and his stupid colleagues have been doing over the last two months instead of being concerned with the Corona virus?

China is currently attempting to shift blame for the Corona virus to the US. The Chinese Minister of Disinformation:

Given all that’s gone on, you might be tempted to think that democrats would want to work together with Trump for the sake of the country.

You’d be wrong. Their motto remains: Never let a serious crisis go to waste.

At the moment. China- despite lying about everything having to do with this virus- seems to be turning the corner

Apple reopens all stores in China as coronavirus wanes

Apple has reopened all of its stores in China as the deadly coronavirus outbreak wanes there.

The tech giant’s 42 branded stores across mainland China were due to open for business Friday, according to a company spokesman. Apple had shuttered its Chinese stores in early February because of concerns about the coronavirus, which first emerged in the city of Wuhan.

The company reopened the shops gradually over the last several weeks, and 38 of them were up and running as of last week, according to Bloomberg News.

This bodes well for the US.

Continued democrat input and interference does not. They are not helping the situation. They’re scaring Americans to hell. They’re ruining the economy and you will never convince me that they don’t enjoy it.

democrats would do well to find the nearest cliff and jump off it.

Dems agenda includes a gov’t centered medical care system.
For that to happen, either they have to regain political power and legislate it in, or, they can incite a crisis that collapses the private medical system and makes their gov’t based one look like a good alternative.

They are running on both tracks, thanks to coronavirus.

If they could throw open the borders they could quickly overwhelm our medical systems and make their solution look better.
If coronavirus can be made into a Trump boogyman they might slingshot off of it into majority rule in the presidency and both houses in Congress.
So, can they be thwarted?
Can the medical system stay ahead of the increases in cases?
So far, so good.
(But that’s also what someone falling from a great height might say.)

Democrats dont give a darn about what happens in the Corona Virus gets loose all they care about is controling our lives these dirty rotten Democrats

No Dr John, Nancy Pelosi did not attach abortion funding to the bill. That is fake news..

Truth is, republicans were demanding anti-abortion language as a poison pill to intentionally derail the bill.

In fact, House Democrats filed what’s known as a “manager’s amendment” stating specifically that the funding could only be used for “COVID-19 diagnostic tests and related administration or service costs.”

This is just what today’s so-called conservative leaders are: lying, disgraceful, sabotaging pieces of shit, evil to the core, people who play politics and “got-ya” over the good and well being of the country.

To abet such things only demonstrates how unhinged the rabid right has become.

Continued democrat input and interference does not. They are not helping the situation. They’re scaring Americans to hell. They’re ruining the economy and you will never convince me that they don’t enjoy it.

This is simply what they MUST do in order to try and compensate for having terrible ideas and candidates.

@Nan G:

Dems agenda includes a gov’t centered medical care system.

Absolutely, and grow big government. But, did you see Gov. Cuomo yesterday complaining about central federal control of testing and test kits? Seems when their OWN political ass is on the line, they don’t want to wait on the slow, lethargic, slogging federal apparatus to get to them; he wants authority to make his own kits and designate his own test centers. Suddenly, it’s “Who the hell needs the FDA and CDC? Let’s ROLL!”

@Ronald J. Ward: Welllllll….. yeah, she did.

Pelosi slowing aid package by trying to slip abortion funding in
https://www.dailywire.com/news/pelosi-allegedly-tried-sneaking-pro-abortion-language-into-coronavirus-bill-ben-sasse-blasts-her

THAT was your poison pill and Democrats wanted it to hold up the aid so they could politicize the crisis further. Just as they ALWAYS do EVERY DAMN TIME.

This is just what today’s so-called conservative leaders are: lying, disgraceful, sabotaging pieces of shit, evil to the core, people who play politics and “got-ya” over the good and well being of the country.

To abet such things only demonstrates how unhinged the rabid right has become.

They also like to falsely accuse others of doing EXACTLY what they are doing.

@DrJohn:

No she didn’t.

The 2 sticking points on the bill were:

1) Republicans were unhappy over the inclusion of an expanded paid leave program for workers affected by the outbreak.

2) Democrats were unhappy because republicans were demanding for the inclusion of language from the Hyde Amendment, which bars the use of federal funds for abortion services, be included in the bill. This was remedied with the Democratic “manager’s amendment” which said all funding be used specifically for virus purposes and none other.

Republicans wanted the inclusion of Hyde because they knew Ds would object due to setting precedents plus the blow-back from pro-choice advocates. They did it simply as a political stunt, knowing it wasn’t needed and a management amendment would take care of it.

Pelosi never tried to attach an abortion rider.

Even your very source is careful with the word “alleged” and comes up short building that case.

The vast majority of Americans are not going to forgive the Dems and their owned media for the disinformation crimes they are committing during this outbreak.

Final nail in the coffin, it seems.

@Ronald J. Ward: Oh, I get it. You don’t know what the Hyde Amendment is. That explains (somewhat) your ignorance about this.

@Nathan Blue:

The vast majority of Americans are not going to forgive the Dems and their owned media for the disinformation crimes they are committing during this outbreak.

That might actually have some validity as the right does indeed have a powerful propaganda machine going.

Hell, even a recent Pew poll said 2/3rds of white Evangelic say Trump is “Honest and Morally Upstanding”.

When they won’t believe what’s overwhelming factual before their eyes, it’s easy to sell them disinformation such as this.

@Ronald J. Ward: You are FOS. How much is SanFranNan paying you to to spread disinformation?

@Bubba Gump: Daddy Soros pays the bills.

@Ronald J. Ward: Nah…nothing rivals the vast propaganda complex of the Left. Funny how you didn’t even try to offer some proof of the Right’s vast information sculpting capabilities? Haha. That’s because they don’t exist. The Dems and their media would make Pravda proud.

Robert Epstein’s work is of particular note:

The Left is losing it’s grip.
That’s why they have to send disinformation/gaslighting posters to blogs in a vain attempt to keep their narrative going…

@Bubba Gump: Ever notice how much Ron/AJ sounds like greg when he’s not concentrating on the other persona?

Why not give Trump and Pelosi—Cruz and AOC— thumbs up for reaching accord and move ahead —-reminds me of Ronnie and Tip–though they had the benefit of being IRISH

I’ll have another

One summer day in 1564, a weaver’s apprentice died in a small village in the English countryside, a local tragedy that was immortalized in the margins of the town’s records. Next to the name of the weaver’s apprentice were three ominous words: “Hic incipit pestis.” Here begins the plague.
where did the resident bartender do anything for this virus issue other than engaging her idiot brain attached to her mouth?

@Richard Wheeler: I’ll drink one to all that, Rich. Agreed.

The idea that Trump somehow “botched” the response, however, is the new “hoax”.

Drink well!

@MOS #8541: NOW Sandy says “stay out of bars and restaurants”. Apparently it is possible to wash stupidity off, at least for a while.

@Deplorable Me:
no, stupidity is permanent. alcohol will help for a very limited time. a bad hangover does not count. in Ca esp. La with the homeless, rats and lice/fleas are the predominant carriers of the plague. it is only a matter of time until this hits the fan. I suspect there have been isolated cases of the plague not reported.

Re@MOS #8541: WC Fields said he felt sorry for those who didn’t drink cause “when they got up in the morning it’s the best they were gonna feel all day.”

People seem to be overlooking Biden’s choice as top medical advisor.
Zeke Emmanuel.
Zeke, as some with memories recall, is the guy who said he wanted to die before he hit 75.
He has also advocated for NO Medical assistance for people over 75.
Joe Biden is 77.
Zeke would deny Joe Biden even antibiotics because an infection is quick as opposed to a slow decline.

@Nan G: You forget that in totalitarian regimes, the political elite get the perks. That’s not to say that, depending on the VP, those controlling Biden wouldn’t just let him die. Depends on if his value as a puppet is greater than the value of having his VP in charge.

Everytime a patient dies it’s Trump’s fault and could be a family member next.

@Joe: How so?
