In the aftermath of the Parkland shooting, CNN announced it would hold a Town Hall:
To help facilitate the discussion, CNN has announced it will hold a nationally televised town hall with the victims’ classmates, parents and community members.
“Stand Up: The Students of Stoneman Douglas Demand Action” will air live at 9 p.m., ET, on Wednesday, February 21 at the BB&T Center.
So far, Florida Rep. Ted Deutch, Sen. Bill Nelson and Sen. Marco Rubio have accepted an invitation to participate in the town hall. Florida Gov. Rick Scott said he would be unable to attend because he would be working on legislative solutions in Tallahassee. And President Donald Trump also declined an invitation to speak to the students and parents.
Dana Loesch also would appear.
It was a set-up.
CNN had scripted questions set for gun rights proponent Colton Haab, who refused to participate on that basis. CNN denied it, but I really don’t believe anything CNN says.
As Loesch entered the lion’s den she was assaulted with screams of “Murderer!”
As Loesch and her security detail walked toward the stage, audience members shouted at her phrases like, “murderer,” “child killer,” and “burn her.” Jake Tapper, CNN’s chief washington correspondent and anchor of “The Lead,” was the event moderator.
“I know Jake, and it might strike a nerve, me saying this, but I think he lost control,” Loesch said.
And Tapper just stood there mute. No, he did not lose control. This is what he wanted. This is what he envisioned. It got worse. Cameron Kasky, leader of the lynch mob that night, hurled a vile salvo at Marco Rubio:
“I’m sorry, I know I’m not supposed to do this, but I’m not going to listen to that. Senator Rubio, it’s hard to look at you and not look down the barrel on an AR-15 and not look at Nikolas Cruz, but the point is: You’re here and there are some people who are not,” Kasky spat.
This is not the language of someone seeking a dialogue. It was a cheap political stunt. It was scripted.
And Tapper just stood there mute.
Neither Loesch nor Rubio had a thing to do with the shooting and they appeared voluntarily. Not once did Tapper exert control of the situation and ask for a little respect for those (a US Senator included) who participated, believing that it was to be a discussion. They weren’t prepared for the hostile and juvenile encounter.
CNN that said these kids were above criticism and then the louse Drew Griffin, fresh off ambushing an elderly conservative woman, went on to call Habb a liar. The parent of a second survivor said that a “CNN producer told him the day after the shooting they were looking for people to do interviews who would “espouse a certain narrative which was taking the tragedy and turning it into a policy debate.”‘
Without a doubt.
The whole thing was a set-up meant to ambush Rubio and Loesch. Ambushes seem to be the new tactic on the part of the network.
This is CNN

DrJohn has been a health care professional for more than 40 years. In addition to clinical practice he has done extensive research and has published widely with over 70 original articles and abstracts in the peer-reviewed literature. DrJohn is well known in his field and has lectured on every continent except for Antarctica. He has been married to the same wonderful lady for over 45 years and has three kids- two sons, both of whom are attorneys and one daughter who is in the field of education.
DrJohn was brought up with the concept that one can do well if one is prepared to work hard but nothing in life is guaranteed.
Except for liberals being foolish.
Here’s my problem:
Sure CNN allowed certain children to ask a question PLUS express a viewpoint, so long as the POV aligned with their own at CNN, however….
It appears the Haab family appears to have modified the email they got from CNN.
They “forwarded” it to other reporters, not as an original email, but as a WordPerfect text, with a major change.
CNN later went ahead and let others do what their (deleted) phrase claimed they couldn’t let him do (out of time pressure).
So, there’s deceit on both sides.
As far as ambushing Dana and Rubio, YES, CNN did that.
It was 498 to 2.
Putting the vast majority off camera (and lights) allowed that group to kevetch from the darkness anonymously.
And did they ever!
Considering that, I thought both Dana and Marco did great.
Wasn’t Sheriff Israel also there?
Calling Dana/Rubio names as if they sat on the sidelines and did nothing when it was 4 of his own who did just that!
I haven’t heard a peep from him since it came out that his own internal policies were to blame for those deaths.
The Coral Springs Police, with no such policies in place, went right past all 4 Broward County officers on their way in, surprisingly the 1st responders to do so.
But by then the shooter was over at Mickey D’s having a bite.
No lives were saved by those brave men.
While RINO’s certainly deserve to be ambushed, this ambush was weak and stupid.
All it did was generate sympathy for Rubio, the Establishment’s boy. The incest between the Media and the Establishment is frightening.
Screw CNN and all its sponsores and affiilates we all know CNN it Propeganda not real news its more bull then the Chicago Stockyards
This is the liberals version of journalism; make sure only one viewpoint is voiced, invite a token force of the opposite side and stand by while they are overwhelmed. It’s no wonder liberals never wait for the details and facts to base their positions on or with which to make policy; they always only hear and only want to hear the leftist version of reality.
In the final analysis, what failed the students of Douglas HS is the strong, powerful, all-encompassing government liberals want so badly.
Some useful idiots held a Die In for Gun Control in front of the White House reminds me those Democrats holding their little sit in for Gun Control so why are they not protesting against violent video games and movies as well as Music how many of them watch MTV and play those violent video games
