I’m willing to give the NFL players a little bit of slack on these National Anthem protests. Think back to your 20s – how well educated on current events were you beyond the headlines? And their career path is a lot different than most of ours – if you want to stay employed at the professional level you’ve got to truly apply yourself and immerse yourself at the craft. I’m hoping that doesn’t come off like I’m applying the term “dumb jock” or using it as an excuse for bad behavior, and I’m only giving that as some justification when this first started. If you’re a player still taking part in this stupidity, it’s time to get the facts straight on the issue you’re claiming to champion. But I’m willing to indulge, so let’s look at some important elements of what this “National Discussion on Race” these protests are supposed to initiate.
Black Americans have some very real grievances with how they have been treated based on their race, so let’s start addressing them by looking at a few recent examples. First, let’s look at education. We all know that Attorney General Jeff Sessions is a racist, because every Leftist tells us that he is. But forget the alleged heresy from decades ago, how about Sessions’ recent efforts to deny black children their right to an education?  Yes, you read that right, our nation’s Attorney General sought to block minority children from leaving failing schools in the name of… diversity. Even worse, there a number of bigots who feel that nonwhite students aren’t smart enough to be held to the same academic standards as white students.
Just as damaging is Sessions’ efforts to make it even more difficult for those students who he traps in failing schools to get any kind of education by giving kids who disrupt their classes a pass
based on… race. Yes, seriously. After learning of a higher proportion of children in classrooms being disciplined were non-white, Sessions gave a directive that students those being punished show a more equitable racial representation. Predictably, the troublemakers knew they had a free pass to cause trouble and took full advantage. By this logic, I personally look forward to the day when there’s a call against the over-representation of men in rape convictions until we achieve a 50 percent split to better match the population and end gender discrimination.
But enough about education – how about inner city violence? It’s bad enough that Republican run inner cities have become dangerous Hell-holes, but now White Supremacist groups have been lying to residents of inner city black neighborhoods, telling them that law enforcement is a far bigger threat to them than the criminals in their own neighborhoods despite data telling otherwise. And sadly, many gullible and emotionally needy people have bought into this narrative, despite the fact this the entire movement of these racial supremacists is based on a lie. And it gets worse.
These racists have gone into predominantly black neighborhoods to incite riots that would destroy the very neighborhoods of the people they claim to want to help. Worse still, during the Milwaukee riots that racial sell-out Sheriff David Clarke, instead of doing his duty to protect the residents, decided to give these agitators “space to destroy.” To add insult to injury, the man generally seen as a leader of these alt-right bigots, Richard Spencer, has been a guest of the White House on more than one occasion. Yes, the same Richard Spencer who leads that hate group that marched in the streets calling for the murder of IRS agents after the Lois Lerner scandals. And despite this incitement being successful, Session still won’t label them as a Domestic Terror group.
There are many other examples of bigotry that we’ve seen by the party of racism:
- Despite unemployment being much higher among black Americans than their white counterparts, many racists want to hurt the job prospects of their most unskilled by flooding the country with additional unskilled workers.
- Although black communities also see much higher rates of abortion than outside of them, when one racist NFL coach called against this violence he was condemned by bigots for defending black children. When asked by one social media bigot what he thought of the “over flowing of unwanted black children”, he made the cold, hateful suggestion of working to change the culture to “Get the men to stand up and help make those children wanted.”
- To further reinforce the victimhood mentality, dishonest academics have given us fuel for the self-destructive notion of victimhood status known a “implicit bias”. There’s just one problem with this anti-scientific assertion that “The fact that we can’t find proof of racism is proof of racism” turned out to be false.
This isn’t to say that there aren’t legitimate grievances in the black community – the discrepancy in sentencing between white vs. black drug offenders needs to be examined. And while I know that anecdotes don’t equate research, I do know that getting pulled over in one’s car for “driving while black” is still a thing in the South. These would probably be more constructive than calling for removing police protection from the highest crime neighborhoods. But if there’s going to be a serious discussion on race in America, the issues cited earlier in this post this would be a good start.
In a year, the Dallas Cowboys have gone from wanting to wear helmet stickers for honoring slain police officers to protesting against cops.

If it were only football players we could simply boycott them out of jobs.
But it isn’t.
Earlier this month a 5 white/7 black person jury twice refused to deliberate.
A black male was on trial for the brutal murder (by lighter fluid and match) of a white teenager.
The jury foreman, one of the blacks, simply lied to the judge and claimed they had deliberated.
They found the male “not guilty.”
The judge polled the jurors and all 5 whites said they had not deliberated yet and leaned toward guilty but needed to deliberate.
The judge sent them back in.
Same thing happened.
Except this time they faked deliberating by waiting hours.
A mistrial has been declared.
This is far worse than jury nullification.
At least then a jury deliberates and decides as a body.
Not here.
This was just a tyranny of a majority.
Totally illegal, and they just didn’t care.
They hoped to intimidate the whites into going along.
That’s where we’re at!

Politics is ruining everything for every one of us all if they think america is so bad off why dont the just pack up and leave were not going to stop them just say Good Bye and Never Return
I’m not sure how someone can put their dignity, character and career at risk over a subject they have not researched thoroughly, but I guess it can happen. Rather, I think these players that protest the anthem, flag and military THINK they have researched the issue, but instead have merely succumbed to propaganda that reinforces their own bigotry, prejudice and victim mentality.
What they are actually protesting is a black criminal ever facing justice. Even when there have been instances where a black citizen has been needlessly killed by a cop, the incidents have not been shown to have been racially motivated, but they have been TRANSFORMED into a racial incident due to the contrasting skin colors of the participants.
If these social justice warriors REALLY wanted to participate in a solution, they would implore black youth to forsake the thug culture, stop worshiping rap stars, place education and economic development ahead of thug culture and learn to get along with society. They could also recognize and oppose the welfare culture which dooms its victims to perpetual poverty and, instead, embrace education and economic opportunity as the means out of poverty.
They could also honestly make clear that the transformation will not be easy or instant and it will take a generation, at least, for the real and positive results to be seen. But, the clock starts running when they START and the longer they ignore the realities of their fate, the longer the end result of climbing out of poverty will be in materializing.
Ratings continue to drop, so less Thursday night football games. They really dont get it.
I have been to several home football games(Going to one tomorrow night)and everybody still stands for the National Anthem were not a liberal community
@Deplorable Me: That’s too constructive – good luck with that!
Two points. Brother Bob needs top realize that many people in this country are too dumb, or ignorant to recognize satire when they read it. They will read this article and think that it is a factual account.
Along that line, I am disappointed that Brother Bob has bought into the fantasy of “driving while black.” If it does occur it is so infrequent as to be almost immeasurable. Officers working in high crime areas will encounter minority persons in much larger numbers than those Officers working in ‘Country Club Hills.’ Successful Officers that I have talked with stop the car, and not the person. A car with broken lenses, lights out, dents and obvious neglect is indicative of a driver who doesn’t sweat the details including perhaps unpaid tickets, warrants and drivers license issues. A person of lower income who cannot afford to keep up a car, driving around in a minority neighborhood and getting stopped by police is obviously “Driving while black.”
I’m willing to give the NFL players a little bit of slack on these National Anthem protests. What the HELL for… Four yeas in the Corp, last two tours in Vietnam; did not see American soil for 28 months. NO slack given to the snowflakes. Next year jimmy jones is going to have a hard time paying for that new, under attended stadium
@71 Grad: Fair enough on the “Driving Wile Black” – my anecdotes come from black friend who in no way look, or drive, like they’re trouble but got pulled over driving on highways in The South. I did acknowledge that anecdotes don’t equate research, and I wouldn’t mind seeing more data on the subject. I also wonder if other factors don’t play into the drug sentencing discrepancy, such as prior history.
And I do know that many people are too stupid to recognize satire, in fact I’m hoping that some lefties share this as their proof! Lord knows they never verify anything that tells them what they want to hear…
Why dont t they just quit and take up ballet dancing instead its more for them becuase Footballs a mans game its not for snowflakes
@Deplorable Me: Let us not forget that the ORIGINAL person not standing for our National Anthem was because the man hated cops, and he wanted everyone to know it, and it has expanded into things we are supposed to hate. Let us also keep in mind that most, if not all of the original protesters are muslims, and muslims are trained to hate anyone who tries to stop the spread of their religion, and that means the police and military, which the muslims also hate. Keep in mind that the koran teaches that a muslim MUST convert non-muslims, and if they cannot, then they MUST kill the non-muslim.
No law can make a person loyal to the USA, although I read where China is planning on punishing those who do not respect THEIR national anthem. I agree there SHOULD NOT be any laws making respecting the National Anthem mandatory, but since the sports teams are owned by a corporation, this means that the owners can make it mandatory to either stand for our National Anthem, or not be on the field when it is played.
The good thing about the whole thing, is that we can see who we do not want to support, and then not buy a ticket for a game that person is in, or watch them on TV, or buy anything they promote. On my phone, I keep lists of people, companies, and organizations I do not support, and it is getting longer. This way I can check them any time I am about to buy something, or make a donation, to see if they made the list. I suggest everyone who does not want to support certain things, do this.
@Smorgasbord: Those guys are at work and the League controls how they act at work. They can’t over-celebrate a play or touchdown. They cannot wear a sticker honoring slain cops. They can’t fight. Also, they are SUPPOSED to stand for the national anthem.
Let’s say I am a waiter in a restaurant. While I am waiting on people, serving their dishes, representing the owner, I decide to protest. I decide to wear pins that say anti-abortion supporters are criminals or stupid. I denounce non-vegans. Or, Black Lives Matter, “Hands Up, Don’t Shoot”. Customers are offended, leave, don’t come back. Would that be permitted? Would anyone view that as acceptable?
The inmates ARE running the prison… the asylum. The NFL had better either take control or give up.
I said the same thing as you did, only in an indirect way. The players are EMPLOYEES of a company, and the company sets the rules, and the company also sets the punishment. Since the players who kneel are not being punished by the owners, this tells me that the owners are in agreement with what the players are doing, and that this in not an INDIVIDUAL movement, but a PLANNED one. When some of the management joined the movement, and they are not punished either, this confirmed my fear that this is a PLANNED movement.
Are some of the billionaire team owners a part of the One World Order? Maybe. If so, one step successfully used by others to take over countries is DISTRACTION. Create something that takes the people’s attention away from what you are doing, so they will not know what is happening to them until it is too late. Is this what is going on? I hope not, but I am fearful that it could be.
