I am a Christian. As a retired veteran I have always taken God seriously, but was only born again about 15 years ago. One of the basic tenets I have learned is that we all fall short of God’s teachings, and it is only by his grace and mercy that we are saved. Knowing we are all sinners and get forgiveness only through the blood of Jesus Christ has added a peace to my life that is all encompassing. I have learned to have compassion for others.
That being said, I am also what would probably be considered a militant Christian. I do not push my religion on others, but neither will I allow those who are not Christian to push themselves on my beliefs.
One such person is one of the senators in my home state, Nancy Pelosi. Her attitude towards hard working, middle class Christians can best be described as an attack on traditional basic human Christian values. I find it astounding that she brags about the fact that she claims to have been a part of the Catholic church for so many years and has the wrong opinion on so many things that Christians hold dear.
On January 26, 2017 she put forth the idea that only Democrats, or progressive/ socialists as they should be called are the “righteous saviors” against the traditional values that Christians hold dear, calling them phonies who live to victimize others as a way of life. Her exact words were
“They (Republicans) pray in church on Sunday then prey on people the rest of the week”
“While we (Progressive/socialists) are doing the Lord’s work by ministering to the needs of God’s creation.”
This is the same woman who declared that her Catholic faith compels her to support same sex marriage. While I am no Bible expert, I don’t remember reading anywhere in the Bible where it says that homosexual marriage is right in the eyes of the Lord. As a matter of fact, I seem to remember the exact opposite. And no, the “Golden Rule” as I understand it does not mean that same sex marriage is allowed, and does not overshadow the teachings against homosexuality. It isn’t discrimination to follow the word of the Lord that condemns homosexuality, read Matthew 19,4-5 and let that be your guiding light.
Pelosi seems to think that if it is pushed hard enough, long enough that Christians will finally relent. She does not understand the mind or the tenacity of Christians that, unlike her, actually follow the word of God. She may attempt, along with her socialist comrades in the government to force their beliefs on the Christians in the country. They may fine those who follow the beliefs they hold dear by fini9ng them to the point of putting them out of business, or try to force groups like the Little Sisters of the Poor to submit to the way of thinking the socialists want, but it won’t work.
Long ago I learned that the Bible was the word of God written by man, there is no halfway. You do not get to pick which parts of it you will agree to. It is not possible to pick what you want to follow and what you feel you can just ignore.
And this is the same Nancy Pelosi who said she has a problem with pro-life Christians because they have “this conscience thing”. It is appalling that this paragon of Catholic virtue would say such a thing about those who believe in the sanctity of life. Show me in the Bible where God stated that abortion is okay, where and of the prophets or apostles claim that abortion is no big deal. If the lives of unborn children, and the ripping of these babies from the womb to be chopped up and sold does not bother her, how in the name of all that is holy, does she feel she can call herself a Catholic? How can she condone over a fifth of our children being murdered?
San Fran Nan has promoted to those in her circle a heresy against all that the Christian church believes. She even took her own grandchildren to a meeting with an open heterosexual by the name of Thomas Roberts in 2012 to show them-
“marriage between two men or two women was consistent with Catholic teaching”
No Nancy, it is not. Don’t cherry pick a sentence here and there to promote your heresy and to infect the minds of others. She was instructed by The Congregation for the Doctrine of the Catholic Faith of the Vatican these words:
“No ideology can erase from the human spirit the certainty that marriage exists solely between man and woman, who by mutual personal gift, proper and exclusive to themselves, tend toward the communion of their persons. It was established by the Creator with its own nature, essential properties and purpose.”
Sen. Pelosi, please stop calling yourself a Catholic, you are not. You are attempting to hide behind your religion for opinions that no devout Christian can agree with, and using the laws that allow such things as homosexual marriage, you are not only to damage to your soul, but by forcing others to follow those laws will harm others as well. You may be feeling the power of causing others to bend to your will, but you feel the shame of turning your back on the teachings of Christ.

Many years ago I started calling people like this “B.K. Christians.” They want it their way (Burger King had advertisments that went “Have it your way).
