I’m sure the sentiment is not returned…

I was thinking the exact same thing Antics. We need a replacement for the apologizer in chief.

The images of the Marines listening to Panetta as he addressed them in Afghanistan, shouted a booming rebuke which the troops feel toward their CIC and his emissary.

Disarming the Marines before they attended Panetta’s photo op was a very serious statement of TRUST, or lack thereof. This Administration can’t seem to get anything right.

I haven’t EVER been able to say “I’m Proud of THIS President” yet.. and probably never will be…..

@James Raider:

In the middle ages, all but the noble’s own personal bodyguards were required to surrender their weapons prior to audience with the noble. This included those knights loyal to the noble.

Trust is a two-way street, just as respect is. Not only does one wish to see it in those they interact with, but one has to extend it themselves. Without this dual attribute of trust and respect in place, it is not trust, nor respect, that is shown, but rather, acquiescence to the another’s authority. In essence, it is simply the submission to another.

The example of Panetta and our troops is but a small example of this wider view of Obama’s. Obama wishes the submittal of America to himself. This is what a tyrant wants. Obama is a tyrant.
