WWII Veteran to Turn 100

Loading

Mario Launi, a WWII veteran who served in the Pacific, will be turning 100 years old on January 26, 2012. He is currently at the Hollidaysburg Lutheran Home, 915 Hickory Street, Hollidaysburg, PA 16648. His family and caregiver have requested the community and all veterans to come together and shower him with cards. So what I am requesting that every patriotic and freedom-loving American in the area join in thanking him for his sacrifices. This will be a small token by letting him know how much we appreciate his selfless and dedicated service.

Thank You so Very Much,

Peggy Lidwell, Ret USA MSG
Service Officer

God Bless Him, I love these stories.

I just sent this out to my Cub Scout Pack and challenged them to send out as many cards as they can. It’s a wonderful service project for my Scouts.

My uncle, Art Yon, was from Hollidaysburg, ended up a POW the last 6 months of the War and passed away last year. He had some SOBERING stories…

Awesome effort, CJ. I applaud your idea for this!

hi,
yes super good idea, I always thought that GOD make it up for those who died at war, by giving longevity to other warriors who made it back, this one was given a couple of lives taken from 2 who lost it, and I also thought that those lost of lives where in close touch with him at WAR,
that’s just my personal thoughts, because I have notice it more than once or twice,
best to you
